Owen Taylor:

Not every mission goes the way you plan. She was never supposed to stay. I’d lived a lifetime of hell in the shadows, loyal to the kind of men who didn’t make it out clean.

Taking her in was a debt I owed. Loving her? That was never a part of the deal. But the girl with the haunted gray eyes and iron spine wrecked every wall I had left.

And now that she’s under my roof and in my heart, I’d burn the world down before I let it take her again.

Kinsley:

Not every survivor knows how to live after the storm. I certainly didn't. So I held my breath, waited for the next bruise, the next command. It's what I was trained for.

When Owen rescued me, I didn’t know what to expect. He was gruff, guarded, and armed with more secrets than smiles. But he kept me safe and that’s something I hadn't felt in forever.

Now, our quiet cabin in Skagit feels like the only place I’ve ever belonged. But peace never lasts forever.

What happens when two lost souls collide in the middle of nowhere and start to believe they might deserve more?

5⭐

One thing first, THIS is not a romance book!
It's part of the "Season Sisters Saga", which IS a romance. But this book is "just" an additional part.

If you have read book 1-3 in the series plus the prologue novella, you have realized there are still missing years about Kinsley's story. The years she lived with Owen.
You might think, "Why not read it first?" I recommend reading this book after book 3. There are parts in this book that would spoil the story or would take surprises out. There are still plot twists this book will give.

It's absolutely incredible. And even though I knew how the book would end, I'm still crying 😭 I'm shocked by the plot twists. I'm again taken from everything Kinsley went through.

Thanks to the author for trusting me with an RC 🩷

Echoes & Ashes - Emerson Reign

I really enjoyed learning more about Owen and Kinsley. This was the last book I needed to read to finish out, the Spring Saga before moving on to Summer. I teared up reading this. I’m so glad Kinsley got her happily ever after. I love this authors writing, and this will always be one of my favorite authors.

This was a great read, it gave a nice glimpse into the relationship with Kinsley and Owen, as well as provided some more back story on Owen which I know I had questions about. I really wish we knew what Owen’s letter said, and I’m hoping we find out more about the Mask and Collector.

LOVED THIS.

Made me cry but I loved seeing Owen and Kinsleys moments and healing together.
I wish she got to read the letter. I also wish she knew he was her grandfather by blood.
