Terminal Hitman - State of Deception By Jeff Bonilla and Charles Moss
Terminal Hitman by Jeff Bonilla and Charles Moss is a gripping work of fiction that boldly blurs the line between political thriller and conspiracy theory. While some may dismiss it as speculative fiction, the narrative cleverly leans into its provocative themes, daring readers to question what we often accept as truth. From the prologue, the reader is faced with an impossible decision—one that immediately sets the tone for a suspenseful and twist-filled journey. Bonilla & Moss craft a world where tranquility quickly gives way to chaos, where a seemingly calm resort becomes the backdrop for murder and mayhem. The storyline moves with intensity, cycling between explosive action and brief moments of calm that allow the suspense to build once again. At the heart of the story is a sharp critique of political corruption and unchecked power. The book explores the entanglement of politics, money, and science—exposing how those in control often operate with impunity, driven by greed and masked by noble intentions. Scientists, portrayed as brilliant yet blind, are manipulated into believing their work serves humanity, when in fact, it serves only those pulling the strings. Bonilla & Moss don’t shy away from controversial ideas. Their references to real-world institutions like the World Economic Forum underscore the book’s underlying message: that the pursuit of power often comes at the expense of morality. Through fictionalized accounts of elite figures engaged in deception and indulgence, Terminal Hitman - State of Deception presents a sobering view of modern society’s vulnerabilities. The novel delivers a mix of suspense, drama, action, intrigue, and even flashes of romance and humor. Bonilla’s & Moss’s pacing is relentless, and the action is both cinematic and unpredictable. The tone is bold, often unapologetic, and infused with a clear sense of moral reckoning—especially in its exploration of karma and justice. Terminal Hitman - State of Deception is a high-octane read that entertains while pushing readers to think critically about power structures, scientific ethics, and the dangerous allure of control. It’s a thrilling ride for anyone who enjoys a fast-paced political drama with a conspiratorial edge.
I read “Terminal Hitman: It’s Never Too Late for Revenge,” a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. So, I was really looking forward to “State of Deception” to see where the story would go. I wasn’t disappointed.
In this story, corruption is everywhere- crooked politicians; nefarious military personnel; opportunistic doctors and scientists; and an FBI agent, who dabbles in shades of gray.
While the protagonist, Tom Hitsman, seeks to find a cure for his terminal cancer, a holistic doctor/friend mysteriously turns up dead. In an effort to avenge the good doctor’s death, Tom; his girlfriend, Amy; and their sidekick, Randy, uncover a sinister plan that has far-reaching consequences.
There were many characters to follow in this book and also many plot twists. However, I never felt lost or unsure of who was who, which is a testament to Bonilla and Moss’s descriptive writing and adept pacing of the story.
I found plenty of suspense and also a nice dose of humor in this novel- Randy’s character, in particular, lent a comedic flair to the story. He is an excellent blend of naivety and genius. Also funny, when they weren’t menacing, was a pair of assassins with a peculiar affinity for the Flintstones.
While “State of Deception” is a quick and entertaining read, it is also a story that stays with you long after you have finished it, the mark of a well-crafted story. It is ominous and thought-provoking. It is a work of fiction, but it makes you wonder whether this story could actually happen or whether it is already unfolding somewhere in the world today.
If you’re looking for a well-written, highly entertaining, page-turning thriller, I highly recommend “Terminal Hitman: State of Deception.”
I met the authors at a book signing at my local Barnes & Noble. After chatting with them for a bit, I decided to give their new book a try, and I’m really glad I did.
The story grabbed me right away. It’s packed with political corruption, conspiracies, and plenty of twists. The main plot follows holistic doctors being targeted by assassins working for a pharmaceutical company, but there are also side stories that make the book feel even bigger. My favorite was the doomed romance between Sally the scientist and Air Force Sgt. White. It wasn’t even the main storyline, but it was so heartbreaking that it really stuck with me.
What I liked most is how the book mixes suspense with humor and even a little romance. The authors make you care about the characters... even the assassins had moments where you could see their human side. By the end, I felt like I knew everyone in the book.
If you like thrillers with strong characters, smart twists, and a mix of action, heart, and humor, this one’s worth picking up.
