She swore she’d never trust another Alpha. Now one’s living under her roof.
After being betrayed by the pack she thought was forever, Emily Wilson rebuilt her life around work, independence, and walls no one can climb. At the center of that betrayal was Auren, a beautiful Omega who stole her trust, her pack, and even her cat. As the tall, silver-haired superintendent of a construction crew, Emily is respected, capable, and absolutely not on the market for a new pack. But the winds are shifting on Misty Pines, and suddenly she is surrounded by people who test her resolve. Jared, a young Alpha deckhand with an obvious crush. Grady, a quiet Beta whose steady presence allows her to relax. And Leif, a wary Omega who needs someone to watch his back.
When a viral video brands Jared as a predator, Emily knows something does not add up. With nowhere else for him to go, she offers the one thing she has sworn to keep to herself. Her home.
Now Jared is under her roof, the island’s rumor mill is in overdrive, and Emily’s protective instincts are at war with her fear of being hurt again. When Auren’s sudden concern turns into interference, Emily must decide if she is strong enough to trust again or destined to lose the new pack she has just begun to find.

Pacific Northwest author L.L. Frost writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance with snarky characters and descriptive world-building. Whether she's writing a fast burn romance about witches, wolf shifters, and vampires, or teasing a slow burn romance while hunting demonic monsters, her passion is for character driven novels.
Growing up in a rainforest gave L.L. Frost plenty of time to daydream while spending cozy days under a blanket with her cats by her side. Sipping tea or chugging coffee, you can find her with a book or laptop in hand, imagining new worlds.
I like the writing a lot. Which makes me sad because otherwise, not even the good writing could make me finish this.
What I liked: -The attention to detail of the fmc’s job as a construction superintendent. I work in a parallel industry, and the nomenclature, the descriptions of the work characters were involved in, it gave my brain a happy buzz. Either the author has worked in the industry, or knows someone that does, or did a hell of a good job researching.
-The fact that the fmc is a tall, muscular female alpha. So different! - She was also very competent at her job. She also liked doing “soft” things like cooking, crochet. -Reverse harem AND reverse age gap. She’s in her mid thirties and Jared is 23. She has reservations about his age as but he proves to be worthy.
What I didn’t like: -The OM drama. I guess that’s the other side of the coin in a world with female alphas. Having some Omegas that are like, really bitchy pretty women. Having a dainty male could be interesting in a book, but for me, I questioned the desire aspect. I mean her ex Omega was SO femme. She didn’t carry herself as butch. So I struggled with the dynamic of that relationship. I could understand him bringing home burly alpha males. But I couldn’t picture him being attracted to her at all. At no point did I see a moment of just a hint through one of her memories of him and her just being two *people* together at one point.
And so because I couldn’t make any sense of that, I couldn’t go along with how terribly broken she felt when he would ooze into her life. How weak she was about the fact he kept her cat from her after agreeing to joint custody. How much she would fall apart over his scent and a peek at his “creamy thigh” poking under his silk robe. Gender roles and sexuality in this book were not anchored. Everyone is pan in this world? Ok. Not my favorite but ok. The fact that she LOVVVED that bitchy asshole made me think less of her, bc she knew he was a manipulative cunt, so she should have known better. Nothing was shown to redeem him at all even from a manipulator’s standpoint. All vinegar, no honey. He had all the negative aspects of a conniving woman and none of the positive fem aspects except for delicate looks. No, the pheromone thing doesn’t excuse it.
And then I started thinking about how if that all didn’t make sense to me, I was suspicious of what awaited in the dynamic with the Omega in her new pack, and the other Alpa and Beta.
And I saw myself getting angrier in the future with all this angst (on top of the town staying angry at Jared even with video evidence that he was innocent.)
This is the first book I’ve read from the author. She’s a good writer, but to me, I don’t have the trust for her to break a reader down and put them back together before the end of the book, so I dnf’d. No stars to affect the rating. I think I just don’t like OV.

Emily thought she had found her forever, but she was cast aside by her Omega and replaced with other Alphas. Proving she's a strong, independent Alpha, now she focuses on her career and her home. She's created a safe place of beauty where she surrounds her heart with impenetrable walls. Still, she's lonely and feels the pain of betrayal from the Omega who broke her heart, ruined her trust, and stole her cat. Emily may not be looking for a replacement Pack, but that doesn't mean the silver-haired beauty isn't attracting interested suitors. Jared, the young Alpha boat captain, develops an instant, obvious crush and makes her feel seen. Leif, an oversized male Omega hiding from a possessive, controlling Alpha, believes she might be an Alpha he could trust and brings out her protective side. And Grady, who is still recovering from his injuries and trying to figure out his future, settles her when he's nearby. When Emily steps in to help Jared and they become roommates, he sees an opportunity to become a permanent part of her life. Her instincts are conflicted- protect Jared or protect her heart? And what about when her ex, Auren, reenters the picture wanting her to be his Alpha again? Can Emily resist his charm, or will she fall back into their toxic relationship, and what does this mean for Jared?
This is one of those books that makes you want to scream! Emily is the total package. She's formidable, attractive, intelligent, competent, kind, compassionate, incredibly talented, and draws attention whenever she enters. And all it took was one manipulative Omega to rob her of her confidence. She sees her flaws and minimizes her accomplishments. She second-guesses herself at every turn. Believing she is unworthy and has missed her chance at a pack, she's built walls around her heart. She's settled. She's heartbreaking and frustrating all at once. I want to scream at her that Auren is not worth her time, much less her heart. She gave and gave, and he took. She deserves so much more, and he deserves a visit from Lady Karma. But of course, my screaming won't help her regain her mojo; she has to find it herself. Then there's Jared, who is wrongly accused of attacking an Omega with edited social media providing evidence, and the public acting as judge and jury. This scenario probably plays out thousands of times every day because scandal is much more entertaining than a misunderstanding. Add in his childhood insecurities, and he's living through a rough patch. Clearly, these two are a good match if they can get out of their own way.
Insecurities, hesitations, and fear shape this slow-burning romance. It focused on Emily and Jared, but set the stage for Grady and Leif, the other future pack members. Emily and Jared are proof of the damage those who are supposed to love and protect us can do. It was well-written, and the characters were beautifully developed. Their flaws and brokenness made them even more realistic. It was not my favorite of this author's stories. I prefer her quirky females and less angst. These characters have a lot of emotional baggage to unpack. I understand the author wanting to write something new, and she proved her talent, but I think humor is the hardest aspect in writing, and this author is fantastic at writing laugh-out-loud scenes. Having said that, I realize this is my taste, and many readers will love this thought-provoking story of two damaged people rediscovering missing pieces of themselves and a love to help them glue themselves back together.
Frost's writing is leagues ahead of other indie writers.
That said, this story was incredibly frustrating. My main issue was with the FMC, Emily, who spends most of her inner thoughts fretting over her ex, Auren.
Anytime he came up she became this weak, lesser, version of herself, and I got increasingly tired of the back and forth between her and Jared because of it.
The funny part is that the ex only appears in a few scenes but it felt like more because of how much mental space the FMC gave him.
The other male characters were interesting but we don't see enough of them to make a rounded opinion.
So while this was a good read in some areas, I can't say that I'd recommend it to other omegaverse readers or those expecting a more traditional story structure.

Cute story, slow burn romance in the Pinecrest Harbor series. Quite a thought provoking and emotional read when you consider the back stories. Emily gets manipulated by her omega to leave her pack rebuild8ng her life alone. Jared is falsely accused of attacking an omega and loses his reputation. Emily befriends Jarred and has to come to terms with old hurts before she can commit to Jared. Meanwhile Jared has to face constant criticisms despite evidence proving his innocence. Basically a book full of all the tropes and ingredients that make a story worth reading. Nicely paced, slow burn, gentle spice.

A book that is so well written you sometimes wish it were not. Stereo types, assumptions built on those ideas and a lot of pain and heartache caused by those beliefs can make for a very unsettling read when they are written so well. Dark with a few glimpses of hope and ends on a cliff hanger with lots of unanswered questions, If you are looking for a light hearted story this is not it but if you want a hard hitting thought provoking deep story then dont miss this one.

After reading Pack Alpha’s of Misty Pines I couldn’t wait to read Emily’s story of which she was a side character(you do not need to read 1st but recommend series anyway) She takes centre stage in her own series & it was worth the wait. Nice, slow burn pace allows you to absorb the story and take in the interesting characters. Couldn’t put this book down until I hit the inevitable cliffhanger 🤦♀️ Can’t wait for the next book.

This is Book 1 of the brand new Pack Alphas of Pinecrest Harbor series. It starts things off with a bang!
The world building was excellent and expertly drawn. Plot was intriguing and exciting and well paced. The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Looking forward to reading more from this world. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

This is the first book on Knot her Alpha for this series of Pinecrest Harbor, but the others start with begining of the island. This one is all about Emily. She is an alpha and is a fair alpha. Leif was being followed by some alphas picking on him. she stops it. Then Jared who is an alpha is picked on by some mean guys that try to ruin his reputation. Cannot wait until book 2 comes out about Leif. Again L.L. Frost is a wonderful author, great character building.

I really enjoy this author's writing. It's very character driven and the reactions to situations are realistic. What happens to Jared could happen to anyone if a video is timed right. Seeing Grady coming out from Chloé's shadow is a storyline I'm excited for. This is slow burn with only 2 spicy scenes which are towards the end of the book. I can't wait for the next one.

This was a fab series opener and I love that we're getting Emily's story. This is a story of loss, finding your other half, tons of emotions and dark back stories. The author did a fab job with the pacing, complex characters and engaging plot. I was hooked, beginning to end, only to hit that cliffy ;P I'm definitely anxious for the next book in this slow burn RH romance, to see how things continue to unfold for Alpha Emily and her new pack. So good!
I thought this was a great start with this slow-burn romance. I like Emily and liked the change of having a female Alpha. I couldn’t bear her pervious omega and wondered what their dynamic was and how she could miss him as he was so irritating. I thought the Jared dilemma was well done and like the introduction of Grady and Leif and will imagine there will be more of them in the consecutive books. This was a good read and layered the foundations for the following books.
It is strange reading about Alphas, Betas and Omegas being humans and not wolf shifters, but I enjoyed the story anyway. This is Book 1 of the Pack Alphas of Pinecrest Harbor. I loved the characters and the storyline and can't wait to read more. I love reading stories from this author, you get hooked from the beginning and can't put the book down.

This book was great if you love slow-burn with plenty of plot and tension. However, I did not realize it ended on a cliffhanger and now my heart is broken. I just want to know what happens!
I enjoyed this story and the uniqueness of the love story of two alpha’s. Many stories the men are already in a pack when they search for their omega; however, it seems the author is allowing us to see how the pack develops and comes together throughout the series. It is pretty obvious that while Jared may be the start…there will be more additions based on the tensions with the other characters. The author definitely has some spice in the pages and I am looking forward to the next installment!
