He’d be happy if he never saw her again. She wants nothing to do with him.
When Ben Harlow discovers the guys at the Lovesbury Fire Department have submitted his name for the Valentine’s Day Auction, he’s more than just a little perturbed. Even if the money raised is for a good cause, they should’ve cleared it with him first.
With his truck is out of commission—thanks to the crazy woman who rearended him a couple days ago—the last thing he needs to be bothered with is entertaining someone for a weekend. He’ll do it this one time, but the guys better never pull a stunt like this again.
Maggie Chason hasn’t had the best of luck since she moved back to Lovesbury to help her father with his crazy busy collision center. First, she locks her keys in the car. Then she skids on a patch of ice, right into the backend of someone. It’s not like she did it on purpose but the guy was an absolute jerk about it.
Harley Chason hates seeing his daughter so down in the dumps lately. Bidding on a bachelor for an upcoming fundraiser seems harmless and if it’ll put a smile back on his daughter’s face, it’s a small price to pay to see her happy again.
When Ben finds out the winning bidder is the same woman who did a number on his truck, he’s mortified. Why? Why would she do such a thing? There’s no way he can even pretend to like her. Not even for a dinner date. Maggie isn’t thrilled about it either, but she’s at least she’s willing to try. For the sake of the fundraiser and her father, one date can’t hurt, can it?
Sparks + Hearts does not = a successful time together. Or does it?
Amy Stephens is a USA Today and International Bestselling contemporary romance author. Born and raised in Alabama, she lives just minutes from the beautiful gulf coast beaches.
When she’s not busy writing, you’ll find her reading, going on cruises with her husband, or taking a road trip for a girl’s weekend getaway. She’s a huge sports fan, but she prefers watching the games at home where she can curl up on the couch with her feline fur babies.
Amy released her first book in 2014 and now has over twenty published works, from sweet and clean, rom-com, sports and firefighters, there's bound to be a hero for all of her readers.
I really like both Maggie and Ben and their meet-cute and second meeting are hilarious, but the book felt very rushed. I know it's a novella but we seem to skip chunks of time and important steps of their relationship. It's a sweet read, it just feels like it needs a little more detail and depth. I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
She slides on ice and ear ends his parked truck. He is not happy, lucky her dad owns a collision shop. A very good and funny story that I enjoyed it very much. The ending snuck up on me but it was very happy.
