They say love is messy. They don't say what to do when you can't stop wanting two people- —while still hiding the truth about who you are. Charlee was never supposed to be more than comfort. Jax was never supposed to look at me like that. And I was never supposed to let it go that far. We were careful. We were quiet. Until one night-a single moment of violence— tore everything wide open. Now the truth isn't just heartbreaking. It's undeniable. And love? It might be the one thing we can't outrun. Because this isn't her and him. Or him and me. It's us. It's always been We
Okay Rae… excuse me?! Where did this come from?! This was nothing like your other books and I mean that in the best possible way. This one was raw, intense, and so ridiculously steamy I had to fan myself mid-chapter. The smut? Oh, it was smutting hard on a scale of 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ and I am absolutely not okay.
Charlee, Jax, and Liam? Ughhh they are perfection. The kind of trio that makes you rethink your entire life. One’s a hot doctor, the other one packs lunches and cooks?? (he's actually in construction, but ugh he packs them lunch) Where do I sign up for this soft/domestic/sizzling triangle of goodness?
Also, the emotional depth? The tension? The way one violent moment unraveled all their careful rules? Just chef's kiss. This wasn’t just a spicy read it was messy, aching, and absolutely unforgettable.
If you're a fan of MMF, hurt/comfort, secrets, and three people who are so clearly meant to be, we’ll, it’s always been We. 🖤
✨ Found family ✨ Bi-awakening ✨ Second chance romance ✨ Golden retriever MMCs (yes, plural, because Rae came for our necks)
I absolutely loved this book! Forbidden love, hot Dr, one bed, and mmf romance! Just overall so fantastic! The emotion, the found family, and even the spicy scenes! such a great one!! Nothing like a little taboo, mmf love story, that ends up being the most beautiful one. This one had so much growth & overcoming past feelings of not being good enough or hiding from your true self. I loved these characters and the way they made each other feel so seen & heard! Just an absolutely beautiful story of acceptance and finding where you always belonged!
Oh my goodness! This book was EVERYTHING. I think MMF just became my new favorite trope. I’ve only read a few RH book but this one is by far my favorite.
Charlee, Jax, and Liam were the perfect trio. I loved that Jax and Charlee had great communication with each other and showed what a healthy marriage looks like. There was banter, there was chemistry, and I could feel the love the characters shared for each other.
This book also addressed some really heavy topics in a very real way. Some of these topics can be very hard to talk about especially when it comes to members of the LGBTQ+ community coming out to their families. I think all of these topics were handled super well.
I just discover that this is another book that focuses on several of the side characters that takes place prior to this book. I think that I’ll be reading that one next!
Liam, Charlee and Jax’s feelings were all so real and justified. They felt like people I could be friends with and I felt connected to each one of them separately. This hit closer to home than I anticipated on so many levels.
I cried real tears multiple times reading We. The emotional aspect of this book is high. Maybe it’s higher for me as a mom who gave birth last year but those baby scenes had my heart squeezing.
The writing was great. The pacing was slowed when it needed to be and the time jumps flowed nicely. The banter and the notes and the spicy scenes had me giggling and wanting more. At 35% I was so invested I couldn’t put it down and literally messaged Rae that I was obsessed.
5 stars! No notes! I’m definitely going to be adding this to my rotation of comfort rereads and will absolutely need a trophy for my shelf! Thank you for a beautiful story Rae, it was everything I wanted and more.
Oh my stars LOVED LOVED LOVED Liam in This is what it feels like.. and oh my stars witnessing Liam as the amazing person he is all grown up in his desired profession it definitely isn’t for the weak of heart I remember being instantly drawn into Liam’s story his life his feelings I remember it being after 11pm and me having to be awake at 4:30am to get to work on time lol I was up to chapter 14 and didn’t want to put it down… I soooooooo loved this for Liam. I laughed as the author actually wrote scene break to break the scene OMG I LOVED HER FOR THIS!!!!! Witnessing Liam grow and honor himself in such a way as he discovers the other pieces of his soul — you know the saying in some novels where the characters bend until they break — that isn’t the full case and meaning here — as with life people have morals things/standards/lines they don’t cross that causes that person to bend… that moment of discovering something so pure and powerful gives way for Liam to break the constraints that have held him to completely flourish and be authentically truly himself — it was a beautiful mesmerising and heartfelt moment to live vicariously through these characters the strength and humble essence of each and everyone — I found I became fiercely protective of Liam, Charlee and Jaxton. I also learned not to have a mouthful of food or even attempt eating whilst devouring the words on the page lol smh Jaxston you know what I mean right here and you probably would have laughed that sexy carefree laugh as I almost swallowed my own tongue 😜 just sayin’ no judgement lol truly an honor to read We by Rae Lloyd and highly recommend the duet I think we all need a little Liam, Charlee and Jaxton in our lives Thanking the author for writing such a beautiful recount and engaging woke —- Liam is fierce in his love and his strength is enlightening how both he and Jax empower Charlee and each other — yeah I got mad at Jax at times but that’s where the beauty of discovery and growth of their journey they are human and living a very real experience …
Truly amazing I love this soooooo much seeing the love and support Liam has in his circle the empowerment and unconditional love… I laughed, I cried, I got mad and I broke but I also grew as a person… and someone’s story that helps others grow there is no other …..
4.5 stars out of 5 (I round up!) *contains spoilers
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The main characters Charlee (FMC), Jax (MMC), and Liam (MMC) had a beautiful dynamic. I’m glad Liam came to terms with his sexuality and was able to become the beloved third.
What I loved- the spice, the communication, relationship development between Charlee and Liam, and Jax and Liam. I think the author portrayed real and honest expectations for partners exploring polyamory and how important it is to stick to boundaries. I loved how Charlee stuck up for Liam even before their spicy encounters began. Also, can we talk about how wholesome it is that the blue collar worker packs his partners’ lunches and includes sweet (and spicy) notes every day? They’re genuinely all so considerate of each other.
What didn’t work for me- so as a bisexual, it’s sometimes really annoying to have people think that bisexual people are missing out on exploring their sexuality if they’re in a heterosexual relationship. Charlee was projecting her insecurities onto Jax and it annoyed him(and me). When she finally told him that she was attracted to the fantasy of Jax with another man, I was still hesitant but I felt better about it since Jax was willing to open the marriage.
Overall, it was a very sweet book. If you know me, you know I love a good HEA with an even HEA-er epilogue. But what I loved the most about this book were the tiny moments of realism that crept in and I felt like I too, was a member of the Hennessy-Berman clan.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I absolutely loved the banter and the dynamic. The birthing storylines in this book were so raw and fantastic to read. And as someone who is currently 4 months postpartum, I definitely cried.
I also loved the emergency in the hospital (not saying much more so I don’t spoil) but it was the perfect drama needed to be added to the story.
I think for me, the reason for not giving it 4/5 was because I felt it needed MORE. Like, more drama or something. I felt most of the book was pretty laid back and the 2 dramatic moments in the book were kind of short lived. I also felt it was a little unrealistic/too perfect for the throuple dynamic. In all other MMF books I have read, there is so much confusion and drama and some jealousy and issues and definitely getting to see the sexual relationship grow is important to me in this type of book since it’s clear they hadn’t done this before. That was all lost in this book. I felt they had a conversation about boundaries which was perfect but also a bit too perfect. Like, not realistic for people who hadn’t done this before. And then we skipped months of them having a sexual relationship. Which I felt was not good. Like we saw their first time but then all of a sudden months went by and we missed the important parts of them getting to know each other that way.
Overall, I would recommend for anyone who wants a good MMF storyline where they actually truly loved one another. And both men were emotional, loving, men. No alpha holes. I loved that.
Honestly, I don't even know where to start with this review. It literally left me speechless... and quite frequently 🥵🥵🥵🥵.
The way Rae Lloyd wrote this book was truly amazing. She brought a few names of those we knew and loved already, and made us fall more in love with them.
First Liam and Shaen's growth. To see the way it was written out was seamless. I feel like we didn't miss a beat in any of their life. Rae did great on capturing their banter, love for each other, and their history.
Then there is Liam, Charlee, and Jax. They are truly the hottest thing ever. From a Dr, to a nurse, then a construction worker.... I mean what more can you ask for... oh right.... a construction worker who cooks, cleans, and leaves love notes. Like say what!!! I really feel like there was never a part of the book where any of the trio lacked. They were spot on. I loved how they all played into each other so well, especially as things got to the end.
Speaking of the end I was definitely thrown for a loop towards the end before things resolved (sorry guys, I'm trying not to give too many spoilers) with the trio. It was interesting how that scenario was thrown into the book, but I liked how it was because it changed things in the long run.
All I can say is... I will definitely be reading it again and again. I read it this time in 2 days, but it would have been 1 if I didn't have to work.
This was a “stay up past 1am” type read. Was so good. The story is about married couple Jax & Charlee. He works construction and she is a nurse. Jax is bi - the first time Charlee saw him, he was kissing a guy. I really enjoyed how Jax shows his love and commitment to Charlee. And how these 2 of merged their lives together, the unwavering support and communication between them, it’s beautiful. And then Liam is a doctor who is just a few months from graduating and is spending his time in Charlee’s area. They become great work friends, but fate plays a part in bringing Liam into their lives more. The story moves pov, so you really get into each of their psyche’s. You understand their motivations and desires and it all just makes sense. There is a bit of time jump, 3 months kind of just wizz by in about 1 sentance. Even the 3rd act break up was honest. I knew the line would be crossed, as soon as Jax stated his boundary. But the redemption was so sweet. There is a lot about child birth and Charlee & Liam work in the delivery ward. And you know what’s happening with Charlee towards the end before she does, but that’s delicious. The sexy times are about 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5. It’s good. But their is more longing and promises than raunch.
I loved it!! I loved every page!! It's a very easy read, and I ate it up. I was so invested. This is my very first bi book, my first with guy and guy action. And what some hot 🥵 scenes between the three. I wasn't sure if I would be able to handle the details, but I did and thought it was described and wrote beautifully. I loved the characters and how they just loved, cared, respected, supported, and protected each other through the book. I wish I had a family like that. One of the action scenes had me freaked out and choked back, "She better not," meaning you Rae and "leave that damn door shut." You'll know what I'm talking about once you get to that chapter. It has nothing to do with sexy time, either. You didn't disappoint. The drama to follow broke my heart for all of them, but I'm glad it was all worked out with time. There were parts that had me crying, damn hormones, and many parts that had me giggling, too. So, overall, I loved it! I highly recommend anyone finding this book to give it a go. Definitely add it to your TBR list. I felt like I was reading a movie. Now go grab your copy!! Run don't walk.
Trigger Warnings: Gun Violence (Mass Shooting), Childhood Trauma, Discrimination (including Homophobia), Child Birth and Complications, Jealousy, Death
Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ HEA: Yes
First off, Charlee and Jax are adorable together. It’s easy to fall in love with their relationship. Charlee is the sunshine to Jax’s grumpy. To be honest, I would’ve been content if the story had just been the two of them. Rae Lloyd gives personality to her characters quickly so I immediately felt attached.
Liam is more of a golden retriever type character who complements Charlee and Jax well. He and Charlee are light and flirty together, but even Charlee is in awe of his positivity. Jax has a grumpy, tough guy, moody type personality and it is interesting to see how he expresses himself with Charlee and Liam separately as well as together.
Overall, this book made me think a lot. I started off with ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and then bumped it down to ⭐️⭐️⭐️ after thinking it over. The story definitely stuck in my mind! What pushed it down for me is that I went from really liking Liam to totally getting the ick and wanting him to leave the relationship. Surprisingly, Rae Lloyd brought me back from the brink and redeveloped Liam. I still feel like his character went on a tangential personality journey and I’m not sure why his tone changed. By the end, I liked Liam and Charlee, but Jax was by far my favorite character. I felt like he was the most relatable with his very reasonable emotional challenges.
Gun violence is a warning at the beginning of the book. I’m wondering if “mass shooting” is too much of a spoiler, but I feel strongly that this needs to be clarified. Some gang violence in a mafia romance is very different than a mass shooting, even if they both involve guns.
This book absolutely and completely blindsided me. Rae Lloyd went in a totally different direction with this one, and I’m here for it. Charlee, Jax, and Liam are just… OMG. This trio dynamic is emotional, messy, and sizzling in all the right ways. If you love MMF, hurt/comfort, and a story that makes you feel all the things, this one’s for you.
The chemistry between all three is immediate and intense, and the way the author balances the domestic, soft moments with all the tension and steamy scenes is perfect.
The emotional depth...the way a single moment of violence unravels their carefully kept rules is heartbreaking, and the story tackles some heavy, real life issues. I cared so much about all three of them. .
The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that I wanted a bit more time with them figuring everything out. There were moments where I felt like I was just getting into the groove of their dynamic, and then it moved forward again. I wanted more slow burn bonding, more little domestic moments, more of the “We” feeling.
Even with that, this book is addictive, emotional, and downright sexy. Charlee, Jax, and Liam are unforgettable.
We completely swept me up from the very first page. Rae Lloyd’s writing is so raw and intimate that it felt less like I was reading a novel and more like I was being trusted with someone’s deepest truths. The emotions here are heavy but beautifully handled, and I found myself rereading passages just to soak them in.
What I loved most is how deeply human this book feels. Rae Lloyd isn’t afraid to pursue taboo subjects, and this one really shone through in that way. She brings honesty and vulnerability to places most writers shy away from, and it made the story feel all the more powerful and authentic.
This isn’t the kind of book you just read and put back on the shelf. It lingers. It hums quietly in the background long after you close it. I can honestly say We is one of those rare books that changes the way you see yourself and others. Absolutely unforgettable.
I read "This is what it feels like" and wanted Liam's story. I felt there was more to him and couldn't wait for him to talk to Rae 😊. You don't have to read "This is what it feels like", but the characters overlap and I'd recommend it.
This was absolutely worth the wait. For a lot of the book, I felt sad for Liam. I know Rae would give him a HEA but I wasn't sure how it was going to be possible with all the inner thoughts and actions of the characters.
I love Charlee and Jax. The dynamic between the two is relationship goals (I realize they are fictional characters but a healthy marriage isn't). I liked that they had such open communication and even when there was no vocal, they still understood each other.
To avoid spoilers I will leave my review like this. But know that the heartache is worth the journey.
Thank you Rae for writing this dynamic so beautifully.
This isn’t the type of trope I’d usually pick up, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The spice level is definitely a 5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️, and the story kept me hooked from start to finish.
You really can judge this book by its cover, the outside is beautiful, and the story inside matches it perfectly. Rae has a way of pulling you into each character’s world so deeply that you feel like they’re friends you’ve known forever. I especially loved how she weaves in characters from her other book, it’s a nice touch for returning readers, but you don’t have to read the other book for this story to make sense.
At its heart, We is a book about unconventional love, healing, family, friendship, and the unbreakable bonds that hold people together. It’s moving, spicy, and heartfelt all at once.
I absolutely LOVED this book. I was not sure what to expect as I found it in a Facebook reading group. Its ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! It gives you all the butterflies at the right times & makes you really think about life & what could/can be if you just trust & believe. Its one that has gone on my "wish I could read again for the 1st time! " & there is only 1 other on that list!! MMF, HOT L&D Doc, HOT Construction Man & his perfectly amazing sweet nurse wife 🥰. Has a little christmas 🎄 cheer 😜. Love, acceptance, willingness to figure it out, family acceptance, love notes in lunch box🤩that your amzing husband/ boyfriend makes for you. Perfect amount of spice 👌 thank you Rea Lloyd for this amazing read!
Wow! Such an amazing book. This isn't the type of book I usually read. I fact I'm not sure Ive ever read an MMF book before. I read mostly why choose and was always a but hesitant about menage books, but I'm really glad I picked this one up. The story line is so emotional, both happy and heartbreaking. The characters are really relatable, and I loved them all. It does start off a bit slow, but once it gets going you won't want to put the book down. I told myself I was going to read at least half of it today, but when I got to 50% I couldn't stop reading and finished it. Absolutely recommend!
"We" by Rae Lloyd is an absolute masterpiece. Just like the author's previous books, I was so completely engrossed that I read the entire thing in a single 24-hour period.
What makes this book so incredible is how it completely pulls you in. From the very first page, I was sucked into the story and felt a desperate need to find out what happened next. The pacing is perfect, and every twist and turn keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I give this book a 10/10 and would absolutely recommend it to friends. If you're looking for an unforgettable read that you won't be able to put down, this is it. Check out the author's other books you wont be disappointed!
I loved reading Liam’s story! I liked his character in the first book, but this made me love him more. The banter, group chat texts, and lunch notes were top notch! This is only Rae’s 3rd book and you can definitely see that she is really growing fast as an author! I would have loved to see some more grovel and some more time on certain parts/aspects (I don’t want to spoil!), but overall it was a great read, refreshing from others that I have read with these tropes. As a nurse myself, I loved the nurse/doctor aspect which is not always the case when reading medical tropes!! I was so happy for the HEA and was really glad there was an epilogue! Go read it! You will not be disappointed!
When you have to look up to see if anyone is seeing you blush while reading, you know it’s HOT!!! Rae Lloyd has done it again! She’s pulled me so far into her characters that I found myself feeling, loving and crying along with them. I absolutely love how the story is told from all three perspectives. Charlee, Jax and Liam each reveal their raw feelings and their inner struggles to be vulnerable with each other. How else could we understand the taboo love like theirs? Love shouldn’t be something that you have to explain or defend but somehow that’s where they find themselves. Grab this book and hold on tight. You’re in for a steamy ride that you won’t forget!
OH. MY. GOD. This is the BEST book I've read in decades. It is PERFECT. It has genuinely been so long since I've been glued to a book the way in have with this one. Rae has done an amazing job at character and story building (not to mention the build up and anticipation... Omfg), Rae's writing style was perfect. Nothing was distracting about how it was written, I felt completely immersed. As someone who has been involved in the ENM space before, this book singles out all of the best dreamy parts and also keeps it completely realistic. Loved it! Do yourself a favour and READ THIS IMMEDIATELY! It's a solid 11 out of 10. No notes! Just perfection 👌🏻
This book is amazing!!!! Rae Lloyd’s We dives into the messiness of love, longing, and identity. The novel follows a main character caught between two love interests while keeping a part of themselves hidden. It’s a story about desire, choice, and the risks of being honest — with others and with yourself. We is messy, heartfelt, and passionate — exactly what it promises to be. Rae Lloyd writes with the kind of emotional honesty that makes you ache for her characters. If you love angsty romance, big secrets, and characters who grow through their mistakes, this is for you. "We were three hearts once; now we were one rhythm. The beat sounded like home."
We is not the type of book I typically read, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it. The connection between Jax, Charles, and Liam felt so authentic. Their connection is tender, a little bit crazy, and has the right amount of spice.
Rae blends spice with heartfelt emotion so seamlessly. The story tackles tough, real-life struggles without ever losing sight of the love at its core. The emotional moments hold your interest just much as the steamy ones. The characters feel like people you genuinely root for and want to be friends with.
I read this book in one sitting and could not put it down. These characters were written that involved complex emotions that added greatly to the story line. I feel like sometimes when authors try to write a couple that involves a third that it can be hard to do, but this author did it in such a great way that all three characters involved in the couple had brought their own qualities and contribution into the relationship that made it work so well. They were able to overcome their issues and become a we.
“We” is raw, messy, and utterly addictive. Rae Lloyd doesn’t just give you romance—she drags you through heartbreak, vulnerability, and scorching chemistry that’ll leave you sweating. Charlee, Jax, and Liam? Chaotic, complicated, and absolutely unforgettable. I am beyond obsessed with this trio!
This isn’t your tidy, bow-wrapped love story—it’s a gut-punch with heat, humor, and heart in equal measure. 5 stars, 5 spice, and 500 reasons why I won’t be shutting up about it anytime soon.
This is my first book from this author and it won’t be my last. This book had me hooked from the start (might have stayed up all night reading…).
The characters were so well developed, their communication was realistic, and you could see the growth in all of them.
There was a scene that started the third act controversy (trying to keep this spoiler free) that I was skeptical about as it happened, but I think it was handled really well!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️
❤️MMF 🩷bi awakening ❤️pregnancy 🩷friends to lovers ❤️coworkers to lovers
Where do I even start......Rae Lloyd wrote an amazing book. If you are wanting to read a hot steamy MMF book then WE is the book for you!
Charlee who is a nurse and her husband Jax who works construction and loves to cook is the dream couple! The love they have for each other in this book is what every female wants! Then you add in Liam who is a hot labor and delivery doctor and you won't want to put this book down!
You may shed a few tears or what to yell at the characters but it is well worth the read!
This book was simply.. amazing. I love that Liam found his happily ever after. I love that we can show love is love in many different forms than the traditional husband and wife. This book showed the ups and downs of real life. Charlee and Jax had the perfect marriage but separately they both wondered what it would be like with more, and more is what they got. I loved Liam in the first book and was beyond excited to see him featured here. We got to see him go from a teenager to a grown man and it was a wonderful transformation. I will be recommending this book 💗
Such a great read! Charlee, Jax, and Liam have such great chemistry with one another. Watching their relationships unfold is something I wish I could read for the first time again!! A nurse, her construction worker husband, and a doc that she works with - what could be hotter? Oh, I know - the construction worker packs lunches and writes sweet notes plus cooks and cleans! What a dream!!
The development of the characters drew me in and made them seem so real. I laughed and cried - both signs to me of a great book because it draws you in and you connect with the characters
This book was PHENOMENAL!!!!! First and foremost of a bi-awakening was very present throughout the book but it did NOT define the stories or the characters. The characters were well thought out with plenty of depth and the plot.::wow it kept you reading the entire time! And let’s not forget The spice level on this book is a SOLID 5!!! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a spicy read that is plot heavy with some twists and turns but in the end it was so so good! I can not wait for my next read by this amazing author
