Meet the newest Dane, Ethan. He's a quiet loner, nicknamed by his dad as The Shield because he protected his family, his brothers and will eventually protect his woman. Which will happen sooner than he thinks. Natalie Kennedy has a calling. She, too is a protector of sorts except she's trying to protect her beloved Charleston from the ravages of Mother Nature despite its inhabitants ignoring all the warnings and advice she imparts. She's smart, opinionated, brash and unfiltered. Getting people to listen including city officials is a full-time job and she's not afraid to step on toes to get her message across. These two light up the pages with the intensity of the attraction between them. He becomes her partner, her helper, her backer and eventually even her rescuer. Their story makes headlines which, in the end, helps Natalie finally get people to listen, prepare and be safe. Of course there is some intrigue that is linked to him finding out about his seven new family members. Great reading!
