When a solar flare wipes out the grid, ex-astronaut Cass is forced out of hiding to find her missing daughter. With society collapsing and danger at every turn, she must cross a dead world alongside a man she swore she’d never trust before time runs out.
DNF @ 9% While I wasn’t a fan of the writing itself, it wasn’t exactly bad. But this was the opposite of what we see so often—instead of the woman being a total idiot who has to have a man to even brush her teeth properly, this time it was the opposite. Turns out I hate it when either sex is made out to be or is treated like a total idiot.
Also, poor Dancer must be a very confused horse as she/he was called both.
Well written, weaving excitement, anticipation, fear and hope for the future, any future for the planet and for themselves. The story is built on a woman finding her daughter after all electricity died. Such good reading 📚
Interesting style and concept so it was unique for this genre. I was confused several times in the story and found continuity needing a review. I will not comment on specifics so as not to disclose spoilers but they were a real distraction.
