I especially like that Aibi is not the typical damsel in distress. Actually she’s pretty badass! Also that everything is themed to match the flower language. And the memories that connect her to all the reapers. I‘am intrigued to learn what’s behind all of it.

Yeah once it started getting into the backstory of the bad guy I realized I just don’t give a damn but the art is pretty at least.

This volume gives us the background story of Kei and of Inia.
Kei lived with a little girl incarnation of Aibi name Koume. He was a paid assassin and after Koume successfully does a rain dance people want her dead. He kills his master but she is still killed by someone else and he finds her as she bleeds out. I get this is a common theme in Japan, but I find it weird and uncozy that Kei was gonna marry her (even to be freed of being a death kami) because it was a father daughter or protective older brother style relationship in the past life.
We also get Inia's backstory after a misunderstanding with Aibi walking it top see Shii-kun and Inia very close. She was a orian and a prostitute who was sad and Aibi was her friend. I am glad she's not a rival to Shii wanting to be with Aibi, but also I really wanted her to be gay so bad. I'm obsessed with her.
Apart from the backstories, they all (Inia, Aibi, Shii, Himeno) go to an amusement park for the day to relax. A new death god, Aya, arrives and everyone (but not the main crew) is frozen in place. He says he wants Aibi to fall in love with him and ask her on a date, which Shii was supposed to do when the gang got him some alone time with her on a ferris wheel. This is also the point the author decided to leave it for us to figure out on the next volume!
I really liked this one, but I didn't like Kei's backstory and the implications of it nor did I appreciate Inia being straight. But I can settle for a bestie.
I kind of hope the next volume she goes on a date just to make Shii really jealous.

I just really love the art and the progression of the story as well as how Aibi isn't the typical damsel in distress MC. I'm curious if new grim reapers will appear and they'll take the "I want to court you, so you'll give me your power willingly" instead of the "I'll force you to marry me so I get your power no matter what you want" haha. I also want to know more about all of the reapers' stories with Aibi, they've all been unique and interesting so far!

At this point, I'm reading just for the art. I do like this past lives interactions between Aibi and the death gods though!

Recap: battling the hot one, the four of them use teamwork to take him down. First backstory about him as an assassin and her as a beggar girl. Then small jealousy scene, becoming friends with the girl death god, amusement park outing, Ferris wheel, end with another death god showing up and asking her out.

hatte einige berührende Momente, aber ich finde, dass ich die Gefühle nicht super spüre. Vor allem Aibi bleibt mir verschlossen.

Das Artwork ist aber wunderschön und ich mag, wie nach und nach die Geheimnisse rund um den Brautkrieg und so enthüllt werden.
