When Kit Harrison a haunted mechanic with a violent past is dragged into a favor he can’t refuse, he finds himself on the road with Ophelia Rose, a sharp-tongued, reckless young woman running from more than just the law. What begins as a begrudging alliance quickly spirals into something far more connection, obsession, and the quiet terror of being seen.
As miles blur behind them, the tension thickens. Lust tangles with grief. And somewhere just beyond the headlights, someone is watching someone who knows exactly who they are and what they’ve done.
Something, Somehow, Someday is a dark, aching love letter to horror fans and the stories that live in the space between survival and surrender. A tale of found family, fractured loyalty, and the kind of love that walks beside the fire instead of away from it.
Enjoyed the story and premise, the authors do a good job at building tension but something that takes away from the enjoyment is the lack of consistency and some issues an editor might have caught.
Simple things like cars changing type and color, room numbers or even floors, narrative jumping around with little indication as to how or when left me flipping back and trying to figure out if I had missed a paragraph or was misremembering details.
There are some parts that seem like they were cut and pasted/moved as well as an over abundant use of “this thing like it/a that thing” which dipped me out of immersion sometimes, still a fun read regardless of the editing issues.
