"If you have something to say to me, just take it to the bed."
We were two people who did not get along, but incidents happened. Next thing we knew, we had an unforgettable night together and that was how our arrangement started.
I was confident that Id never fall in love with you, ever. Because the thing that was born from carnal desire could never become love.
They lost focus and had a consensual workplace relationship.
Sooo sweet and funny, at first it took me a bit to get into it, but as the story progressed, I was so charmed by these characters and the dynamic they had with each other. Lallalin and Wine’s voices are so distinct and hilarious, especially Lallalin. I read this solely in preparation for the gl that’s coming out by GMMTV. Janjingjing Spring is here!!! Picturing them as the main characters helped a lot in getting me attached to them. There are a few weird things here and there, the fact that they are drunk the first two times to the point that Wine can’t seem to remember it at all is not great, and I also felt so badly for Wine in general because men repeatedly kept trying to take advantage of her. The writing itself isn’t particularly outstanding at all, but it’s definitely a story that will translate brilliantly to the screen in the context that it is and I can picture it really well. Rating: 3.75
With the release of the series i had decided that it was finally time to start reading due to my own impatientness, I went into the novel thinking that it was going to be just a regular romantic-comedy with smut, but no.
Starting already with the character's, i do not think i have disliked a character as much as i have disliked lallalin, she's sleazy, an asshole, doesn't take accountability for her actions, and all in all just treats wine like shit. If you even just take a look at the first time they sleep together you'll know what i mean. How lal took advantage of a situation in which wine trusted her. And while you could make a Point in how since they were both drunk she “technically” didn’t take advantage of wine i think you should reflect on why you'd think that. I mean she does initially try to stop wine from even going that far, since in her own words she (a heavyweight) already feels light-headed after drinking together with wine and how “wine who was barely conscious before…”(prior to them getting to her condo & drinking together she already makes multiple remarks in how drunk wine is) In the end she decides to “give in to the temptation” since she is “no saint”. Make that of it what you will.
At this point I already thought of shelving the book but decided though to “tough” it out and see if it gets better or if lallalin maybe even takes accountability for that, Spoiler alert she doesn't really. She kinda tries to apologize to wine for in her own words “taking advantage of her” but wine rejects said apology citing a “No harm done” which lal immediately takes as an opportunity to propose the “Friends with Benefits” thing, which just lets me doubt her sincerity in her apology.
My final breaking point ended up being the way lallalin treated wine the third time they had sex which was so horrible that it makes me just sick thinking about it, going as far as her saying to wine “You'll like it, khun wine. you always do… every time” after she expressed discomfort while doing it. Which combined with the fact that both of them were drunk the first two times they slept together (one of which wine woke up with no memories until talking with lal) just paints a pretty grim picture.
Which is sad since i was looking very forward to reading it. My only hope now is that the Show-writers decided to re-write those scenes & continue to do right by the viewers going forward.

THIS WAS SO FLIPPING CUTE. This is the type of low angst romcom that makes me laugh out loud while swooning all at the same time. Gmmtv better adapt every single thing in this!!!!
One of the best books I've read in a long time. It's funny, cheesy and so interesting. I'm sooo looking forward to seeing JanHae and JinJing playing Lal and Wine.

Wow. No esperaba nada.
Enemies with Benefits was only the second Thai novel I’ve ever read, and it completely raised my expectations. This was such a well-done story. The translation, for the most part, flowed really smoothly. What stood out the most to me was how believable the romance felt. I could genuinely see and feel the characters falling in love with each other. Having both POVs was a big plus, too it added so much emotional depth and made their connection feel even more real.
I am completly astonished by the way of writing this author has. You have my vows🙂↕️🤭 A slow-burn angst from enemies to lovers? Good god damn you nailed this *chef kiss* Finally bumped into a novel without too much heavy drama, cheesy stuff and communication (even though it happened later than sooner) indeed Can’t wait for the series with Jan and JingJing
it’s the first thai-translated-to-eng book that i’ve read, and it didn’t disappoint me. i love how lal and wine’s relationship progressed, and i casually caught myself smiling, laughing, and even holding back my tears because of some events in the story. i can’t wait how it will it turn out in the series adaptation.
the well written characters are great, how their personalities started to shape a little into the other's personality.
plus I really do love that there was no moment of heartbreak for me as a reader... there really was no need to make a side story and since it didn't happen and I love that <3
