She eliminates men who deserve it. He's her next target. The only problem? He refuses to die.

Jiya Kline has mastered the art of the permanent goodbye: seduce, poison, problem solved. But her latest target, the infuriatingly gorgeous Calloway Frost, keeps surviving her best efforts. When her luck finally runs out and the police close in, she discovers her would-be victim might be her only hope for survival.

Calloway Frost is an artist of death, and as the notorious Gallery Killer, his world is one of obsessive control. He never planned for Jiya, the chaotic, pink-haired bartender trying to make him her masterpiece. He should eliminate the beautiful distraction, but finds himself captivated instead. So when Jiya's world comes crashing down, he’s ready to burn the world to the ground to protect her.

Now with the law breathing down her neck and nowhere left to run, Jiya must trust the very man she's been trying to eliminate. Because when your only ally is your intended victim, survival gets complicated fast—and falling for him might be the most dangerous mistake of all.

If you crave dark romance with body counts, bartenders who mix lethal cocktails, and gallery openings that double as crime scenes, this wickedly deadly story will leave you breathless, literally.

The Hemlock Society continues and we finally get Calloway’s story!

Calloway and Jiya, when two serial killers collide and one person is the mark for the other. I’m loving this series so far. All the members of the society are hilarious. Who would have thought I’d be laughing during a murder scene?

I will say that X Marks the Stalker is still the winning book of this series but this story was a close second. It’s hard to beat Xander and Oakley as their banter was top tier. While I loved Calloway and Jiya, I was giddy every time Xander or Oakley joined a scene.

I looked forward to reading the rest of the series as they release and adding these books to my shelves.

4.5 ⭐️

Calloway is a photographer and gallery owner who leads a secret double life as a serial killer targeting people from the art world who happen to be pedophiles. He stages his crime scenes in the style of various famous artists, which earned him the nickname Gallery Killer. Jiya is also a killer who tracks down people who managed to escape punishment for their crimes. She eventually figures out who Calloway is and decides to kill him, although she cannot ignore the undeniable attraction between them or the fact that Calloway does not resemble a typical predator.

Jiya chose the path of a vigilante after the man who killed her roommate faced no consequences. She starts stalking Calloway, and the whole situation begins to feel like a sitcom. Every attempt she makes to kill him falls apart for one reason or another. Calloway looks like a cold Scandinavian god but inside he is a deeply wounded man who secretly loves early 2000s guilty-pleasure pop hits. His murders are not just about justice, they’re also his way of reclaiming control over his life. Their backstories may be familiar to fans of dark rom-coms, but everything here worked perfectly for me.

My favorite part of the book is the Hemlock Society meetings. Their banter and jokes are priceless, and I would happily read an entire book focused only on them. It was also great to see Xander and Oakley again, especially Xander pretending not to worry about Calloway. They are my favorite duo ❤️

This story feels different from X Marks the Stalker. It is darker, and there is a fairly long scene of disposing of a body, including dismemberment, and even a bowling game using severed heads. Sure, it’s grisly, but that’s part of the genre, and it’s handled with a strange kind of flair. On the bright side, you will also encounter a very territorial beaver mafia. I laughed out loud during that scene, and Don Beaver-leone now lives rent-free in my head.

Among the drawbacks, I can’t help but point out that Jiya somehow doesn’t know that the Gallery Killer murders pedophiles, since he leaves clues pointing to his victims’ crimes. And, of course, the fact that, as usual, trauma is healed by "magic pussy".

The book drops on January 15, 2026, and trust me, it will absolutely chase away your post-holiday gloom.

Its time for Calloway & Jiya's story!!! We first meet Calloway in Xander & Oakley's story [X marks The Stalker] and imo thats where we fall in "like" with him. We get to see more of his "fun loving" artistic side in that book. He's a great addition to their story and we learn just enough about him and his antics to want more of him.

In his and Jiya's story we obviously learn more about him, and his past that was eluded to in the first book, but its really not a revelation in any way as you can pretty much guess from the first book. It was a bit anti climatic which is why I think it wasnt a huge part of the book. Most of Calloway and Jiya's story is about Jiya's revenge and him coming to terms with his capability to love someone when he thought that wasnt in the cards for him.

The banter was great, but its not the same as Xander and Oakleys. Its darker, a little more unhinged if you will. While I do like both books, I do feel that Calloways book is a darker book than Xanders. I also kinda wished there was more Oakley and Jiya crossover seeing as Calloway and Xander are such good friends.

I enjoyed getting to see more of Lazlo, Thorne and Darius...and the setup for the next book which I believe is Lazlo's story 🤔 which come on, thats going to be FILLED with laughs since Lazlo is a hypochondriac 😂

Tropes: to come, will update this portion soon.

I devoured this book in a single, breathless sitting and loved every unhinged, brilliant second of it, laugh-out-loud funny with razor-sharp, dry humor that felt tailor-made for my soul, while somehow also packing an emotional punch straight to the chest. Watching Jiya, a bartender by day and secret executioner of the deserving by night repeatedly attempt to kill her next target, the infamous Gallery Killer, only for everything to go catastrophically wrong every single time was pure, chaotic perfection, especially as she wrestles with the wildly inconvenient fact that she’s irresistibly attracted to him. And Callaway Frost? An artist in every sense, even in murder measured, principled, and deadly in the name of justice, who knows better than to let anyone close, yet can’t seem to escape Jiya’s orbit no matter how hard he tries. Coincidence? Fate? Or is someone actually trying to kill him? In this line of work, paranoia is just good business. Beneath the gore, the chaos, and the wicked humor, this story quietly delivers something achingly tender: the reminder that even the most broken, morally skewed souls are worthy of love and that the right person will look at all your sharp edges and think, perfect. Equal parts hilarious, heartfelt, and deliciously dark, this is exactly how a love story should be told. Five stars, full stop and yes, check those trigger warnings, because this one gets gloriously gory.

After I read X Marks the Stalker, I said I wanted a book about Calloway and here it is! Well, Calloway and Jiya 🤣

Jiya takes down bad men, and Calloway is a bad man and she wants him dead. But he just won’t die.
And a good thing too, because he isn’t the bad man she thinks he is.
Her usual MO of poisoning fails her and she has to get creative, but when she does, that goes balls up too and leads to the members of The Hemlock Society uncovering her identity.
Calloway is grappling with his feelings towards her after discovering her murder plan for him, but when he finally goes all in, she’s taken from him. Will Hemlock be able to save her?
I smashed this book out in a day. It is such a nice easy read. Add in amazingly descriptive murders, hilarious banter, sarcasm, the Beaver mafia, all my beloved characters from book one and this book is a super fun read.

I am never going to be able to look at a fruit advertisement the same again though!

Now I wait with crossed fingers that the book is released with sprayed edges to match the first book, because that’s what Thorne would want.

First, TERRITORIAL BEAVERS! Funniest thing ever!!

This book is suspenseful and keeps you on your toes. I enjoyed the first book and this book did not disappoint.

I enjoyed that the traume of the main characters is not the main focus and you get just enough detail to understand the characters while still enjoying the comedy of the book.

Calloway Frost is swoon worthy and Jiya Kline is the a an amazing fierce, smart and strong FMC.

The timeline and dialogue can be difficult to follow at times, but it does not take away from the story or the plot.

Love the spice with a plot line. Can’t wait for the next book! The amazing development of the side characters keeps me excited about the additional books. I need more Lazlo, Darius, and Thorne!!!.

I really enjoyed X Marks the Stalker for all its dark humour. I worried Calloway wouldn’t hit parts of my dark soul like Xander… 👀.

I like Jiya, Calloway and the book just as much but for different reasons. This books humour was more quick dark wit, double means and clever/intelligent inside jokes. With all the darkness and intelligence came an endearing quality that Calloway and Jiya both had, despite being multiple deleter’s, but can be missing when you have characters who are a little more aloof and calculating.

The spice is spicing, it’s romance, about serial killers. Spice is meant to be spicing.

The writing is amazing, such an easy read and a good/natural flow.

Bring on book 3.

Thank you for the arc!

This was such a fun and easy read! It is a fun enemies to lovers (maybe a little of love at first sight) mixed with murder and mayhem. This dark rom com follows the Gallery Killer (if you have read the first book then you know who I mean) and the woman who is determined to kill him.

The MCs have a fun banter relationship that makes you feel connected to them and their world.

This story is filled with dark humor and potential trigger warnings (if you like authors like Brynne Weaver and Lauren Biel then you will be good!)

First of all I want to thank the author for giving me the opportunity of reading this ARC!

This is book two of The Hemlock Society series by K. N. Wilder. I loved the first one, featuring Xander and Oakley and I have to say that the banter of this one had me giggling like a lunatic many times! The storyline is crazy and I loved the mayhem Jiya and Calloway made all the time. One thing I also loved was to get to know more of the other characters. I can’t wait for book three!

I adored reading this story following Calloway, a member of the Hemlock Society and a Bartender, Jiya.

Seeing the story unfold, as well as Calloway and Jiya together was everything, the ending had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen and I was hooked from start to finish!

Jiya was such a fun character to read about and I loved going more in depth with Calloway and getting more personal with him after book 1.

Highly recommend!

Knife To Meet You by K.N. Wilder is the kind of book that makes you question your morals, laugh at wildly inappropriate moments, and root for two people who absolutely should not be falling in love—yet somehow feel perfect together.

Jiya Kline is a vigilante with a system: seduce, poison, disappear. Her targets are men who escaped justice, and she’s very good at what she does. Until she meets Calloway Frost. Infuriatingly handsome, maddeningly calm, and completely immune to all of her best efforts to kill him, Calloway refuses to die—and that’s where everything goes off the rails.

Calloway is no ordinary target. By day, he’s a photographer and gallery owner with an unsettlingly beautiful eye for art. By night, he’s the notorious Gallery Killer, staging murders inspired by famous artists and eliminating predators from the art world. Cold, controlled, and precise on the surface, he’s also a deeply wounded man whose obsession with control masks years of pain—and a secret love for early-2000s guilty-pleasure pop music that somehow makes him even more endearing.

The real magic of this book is the dynamic between Calloway and Jiya. Their cat-and-mouse game quickly turns into something resembling a dark sitcom, as every one of Jiya’s murder attempts spectacularly fails. The tension is sharp, the chemistry undeniable, and the humor genuinely laugh-out-loud funny. Who knew failed poisonings and stalking could be this entertaining?

Beneath the humor, though, there’s real heart. Jiya’s path as a killer was born from grief and rage after her roommate’s murderer walked free. Calloway’s crimes are about justice, yes—but also about reclaiming control in a world that once took it from him. Their shared darkness creates a connection that feels surprisingly tender, even as the danger escalates and the police close in.

And then there’s the Hemlock Society—an absolute scene-stealer. The banter, the jokes, and the chaotic camaraderie add so much personality to the story that I would happily read an entire book just about their meetings. Seeing familiar faces like Xander and Oakley again—especially Xander pretending not to worry about Calloway—was a genuine highlight.

Knife To Meet You is a dark rom-com done right: twisted but funny, violent yet emotional, familiar in concept but fresh in execution. If you love morally gray characters, enemies-to-lovers with a lethal twist, and stories that somehow make you laugh during murder scenes, this book deserves a spot at the top of your TBR. When two serial killers collide, sparks—and bodies—fly.

🔪🖤 4-STAR ARC REVIEW: Knife to Meet You by K.N. Wilder 🖤🔪
📅 Coming January 15, 2026 | Hemlock Society #2

I knew the moment Calloway Frost appeared in X Marks the Stalker that his book was going to be unhinged in the best way—and Knife to Meet You absolutely delivered. Dark, funny, chaotic, and oddly tender, this sequel dives headfirst into morally gray mayhem and never looks back.

Calloway is exactly the kind of MMC I hoped for: obsessive, controlled, and terrifyingly competent. Watching the Gallery Killer through his own lens—his rituals, his “work,” his meticulous focus—was fascinating. And pairing him with Jiya? Inspired. She’s chaotic where he’s precise, impulsive where he’s controlled, and the fact that she spends a good chunk of the book trying (and failing) to kill him while he’s already obsessed with her was endlessly entertaining.

Their dynamic is the highlight here. I loved how Calloway was locked in from the start while Jiya genuinely believed she was taking out a bad guy. (I mean… is it really a crime if the Hemlock Society is eliminating predators? I’ll let the jury deliberate.) While I would’ve loved a touch more enemies-to-lovers tension, I was rooting for them immediately, so I can’t complain too much. They balance each other beautifully—even if they’re both absolute nightmares when it comes to each other’s safety.

Seeing Xander and Oakley again was such a treat. Their immediate willingness to help Calloway and Jiya reinforced how strong the Hemlock Society dynamic is, and it made the world feel even more interconnected and alive.

And let’s talk about the humor—because this book is funny. I was laughing out loud more than once. The beaver scene? If you know, you know. And Ambrose casually claiming involvement in the Great Emu War of 1932 had me losing it. K.N. Wilder nails that balance between dark violence and sharp, absurd humor.

Overall, Knife to Meet You is a wildly entertaining sequel with memorable characters, deliciously questionable morals, and just enough chaos to keep things unpredictable. I’m officially obsessed with this series—and now I desperately need Lazlo’s book because that man has my full attention.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 4 — Dark, hilarious, obsessive fun with knives, killers, and chemistry that cuts deep.

This is my honest review, and I’m honestly so happy and grateful that I got this ARC!

I really enjoyed the first book, so I was super excited when I got the chance to read this one early. I definitely wasn’t expecting the whole *“she wanted to kill me but now I love her”* thing, but it was really intriguing. I do wish there had been a little more angst between them though—more back and forth, especially if him finding out about her trying to kill him had been dragged out just a bit longer. I also would’ve loved more buildup with their relationship, like more time spent getting to know each other and actually becoming partners in crime.

It gave me *Butcher & Blackbird* vibes, so if you liked that, I’d definitely recommend this series too. Even though I enjoyed a lot about it, the relationship did feel like it moved a little fast for me. That being said, I still really liked seeing them together and watching them be soft and caring with each other… even though they’re literally serial killers.

It definitely delivered on the dark romantic comedy vibes. There were parts that actually made me chuckle, which I loved. I was also surprised by some of the thriller-ish moments that had me thinking *okay but who’s there? what’s about to happen?* I love when a book keeps me on my toes like that. The writing style was fast-paced and didn’t drag, which is always a win for me since I have a short attention span. It was also descriptive enough that I could picture everything clearly, but not so much that it got boring.

I really enjoyed seeing the cameos from the other characters and the couple from book one—it made everything feel more fun and realistic. I like when books show couples actually having lives and relationships outside of just each other instead of being in their own little bubble. Overall, I’d definitely be interested in reading more from this author and continuing with the series. And I’d love to learn more about Thorne too!

OMG, I loved this book from start to finish! I read it in 1 sitting and binged it. I laughed so hard, this book has so much witty, dry humor and it's my thing. Oh god, the way she keeps trying to kill him and everything just goes wrong, like all the time! And then, at the same time, she is struggling with her very real attraction to him. It's fantastic. Ms. Wilder writes such great humor, but with so much heart and feelings!!
First we have Jiya, a bartender by trade, but in secret she kills those that deserve it. Her next target? The Gallery Killer. Who we know from Book 1 of the Hemlock Society. She has killed 7 men, very successfully thank you very much, and this is no different. Except, she can't seem to actually get the man dead!
Callaway Frost, also known as the Gallery Killer, is an artist at heart. And his murders are more an artistic expression then anything else. He also kills for justice and those that deserve it. He is attracted to Jiya, who he met at the bar she works at, but he keeps his distance from her, knowing that in his line of work you can't really get close to anyone. But it's hard to keep his distance when she seems to be everywhere he is. What a coincidence...or is it? And...is someone trying to kill him?Or, is he just being paranoid? One can never be too careful in the murder business.
This book is hilarious, but also shows us that there is a perfect match for everyone. No matter how broken we think we are, no matter how unlovable we think we are, someone out there will love us for who we are. They will think we are just fine the way we are. And that is how I think the perfect love story should be.
5 stars from me and I highly recommend. This book does get gory, so check your trigger warnings kids!

You could carve out my heart with that knife and l'd thank you for it. I don't care. As long as it's you." Knife to meet you KN Wilder. I got the opportunity to have this book given to me early as an arc read. It’s the second book in the Hemlock Society (aka a group of dignified serial killers” This installment follows Calloway the fancy artistic killer and Jiya a spicy bartender with her own secrets to hide. This book gave a bigger look into the Hemlock society, reintroducing us to familiar society members like Xander from the last book, also getting to know Thorne more outside his hard shell persona and even giving more time to lazlo who quickly became a favorite of mine with his comedic approaches. This book was more about how a serial deleter starts to fall for the person they are suppose to be deleting of this world, Jiya thinks Calloway is nothing but a common serial killer who is in for the perverse thrill, so she decides to take him out not once not twice but three times to no success. Calloway and team find out it’s her and Calloway goes to confront her but instead they find themselves enthralled. Not to give too much away there some hilarious moments with a dead body, double poison and a someone being stabbed in the shoulder. Jiya and Calloway’s story is different then Xander and Oakley, they were being hunted by the bad guys in this case the hunters are actually the police and they sure try their best as making one of them pay for their crimes. There is Witt mixed with serious childhood trauma and the characters just finding themselves like magnets that attract even though they shouldn’t.

What a great read! If you haven't read the first book in the series (X Marks the Stalker) check that one out too.

Calloway Frost is a man who is broken by his past. He's an accomplished photographer and influential in the art world, he's also a member of a secret society of serial killers.

Jiya Kline is bartender at a high end cocktail bar, her flirty banter and sharp wit makes it easy for her to find targets for her own plans. She's a hunter masquerading as prey and the predators she's trapping rarely see it coming until its too late. She hunts men who take advantage and hurt people and she's not having it anymore.

This time though she has her sights set on Calloway and she doesn't realize she's hunting big game now. As she forces her way into Calloway's life to try to get close enough to claim her next victim she finds herself falling for him, he's a predator but the kind she usually targets.

I loved the dynamic between Calloway and Jiya it was funny and sweet while also building tension and just the right amount of spice. As they come together and realize they aren't as different as they thought they fall for each other despite all their intentions and they can't help it.

There was also enough story around them to keep in interesting as the police close in on them. And the Hemlock Society closes ranks around them you get to see Jiya finally find where she belongs with people who not only see her darkness but embrace it. Calloway finds someone who isn't afraid of his secrets and when he admits his past trauma she doesn't pity him she accepts him and vows to make it right.

Thank you to Booksprout (and Ms. Wilder too) for the eARC!

It’s finally time for Calloway and Jiya to take center stage! We’re first introduced to Calloway in Xander and Oakley’s book (X Marks the Stalker), and that’s where many of us start to warm up to him. In that story, we get glimpses of his playful, creative personality, and he fits so naturally into their dynamic that it leaves you wanting more of him.

When his story with Jiya begins, we dive deeper into his background and the hints about his past that were dropped earlier. However, none of it comes as a big surprise—you can pretty much piece it together from the first book. Because of that, it doesn’t feel like a major twist, which may be why it isn’t heavily emphasized. The real focus of the story lies in Jiya’s pursuit of revenge and Calloway grappling with the idea of loving someone when he never believed he was capable of it.

The banter between Calloway and Jiya is sharp and entertaining, though it’s very different from the dynamic between Xander and Oakley. This book leans much darker, with a more chaotic edge. While I enjoyed both stories, Calloway’s definitely has a heavier, darker tone compared to Xander’s. I also would have loved to see more interaction between Oakley and Jiya, especially since Calloway and Xander are such close friends.

I really liked getting more page time with Lazlo, Thorne, and Darius, along with the clear setup for the next book—likely Lazlo’s story. And honestly, that one is bound to be hilarious, considering Lazlo’s hypochondriac tendencies.

Can't wait for the next installment, whether it's Thorne, Ambrose or Lazlo. I know it'll be unhinge greatness all over.

If you enjoyed book one of Hemlock Society, you need to read this one immediately!!

This second interconnecting but standalone book follows murder club member Callaway as he narrowly escapes multiple failed murder attempts by a seductive bartender named Jiya who thinks she has his dark side all figured out.

I really enjoyed seeing the layers peeled back on Callaway Frost and what truly makes him a killer in the name of justice. His and Jiya’s chemistry and their push and pull energy before their inevitable collision was thrilling and the spiciness that unfolds from such sexual tension was perfection!

There’s a lot of tension, spice and gorey bits to be had however the highlight for me was the next level humor and banter throughout. From every failed murder attempt on Callaway’s life, attempts to get rid of a body gone wrong, and territorial beavers 🦫 this was top tier dark rom com!

“If you crave dark romance with body counts, bartenders who mix lethal cocktails, and gallery openings that double as crime scenes, this wickedly deadly story will leave you breathless, literally.”

"I love you with the same obsessive, meticulous detail that I bring to a kill. l have mapped you. I know the scar behind your left ear and the freckle on your right hip. I know the sound you make in the back of your throat right before you come."

3.5 stars.

Jiya has seg her eyes on Calloway as her next target. But after some fail attempts on his life, she ends up showing her hand.
Calliway had no idea the cute bartender was the one trying to kill him, till she makes a mistake.
Now having more in common than they thought, they need to navigate this new revelation & what will The Hemlock Society think when they find out.

Fun follow up to X Marks the Stalker.

The couple fall hard & fast, giving some steamy scenes.
Some laugh out loud moments & will never look at berries the same again.
Never thought bowling could be horrifying & heartfelt at the same time.
Love Thorne & can’t wait for him to get his own story.

I really loved this book, it was hilarious but also had its spicy moments and moments where I was on the edge of my seat. If you loved lights out or butcher and blackbird then this is a must read! I gave this book 5/5 ⭐️ I’d say spice was a 🌶️🌶️🌶️/🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. I ARC read this book and loved every single page.

Jiya is a serial killer and has an eye on her newest target Calloway, problem? He’s hot and a serial killer too. During multiple failed attempts to kill him she finds something else, and now has to question herself if she actually can end his life or if he’s worth keeping.

This story was absolutely amazing and I loved every second, I got to read this as an ARC and I’m super grateful, it had the perfect mix of funny moments with story and some spice. It’s the perfect read when you feel like mixing up the best of two worlds. So if you’re a fan of funny serial killers who accidentally fall in love, then check this one out!.

The follow up to X marks the Stalker does not disappoint, and while this could be read as a stand alone I would definitely recommend that you start at the beginning.
This book follows the story of Jiya and Calloway, two people who have a 'hobby' in common (namely un-aliving unsavoury characters) and due to a bit of a misunderstanding their story is almost cut short (otherwise known as when Jiya decides that Calloway falls into the unsavoury category and attempts to end his life prematurely).
Luckily through a series of misfortunes (and a hilarious encounter with some beavers) they instead find themselves drawn together to solve a problem.
Between the banter, the blood, the spicy scenes, and the side characters, K.N. Wilder manages to write another story that I just couldn't put down. I really hope that there is a number three!.

Fantastic! I liked this one way more than the first one! I’m think this series is gonna get better with every book.
X Marks the Stalker reminds me of Lights Out with a sprinkle of Scythe and Sparrow. Knife to Meet You reminds me a lot of Butcher and Blackbird.
I love the characters! Calloway is such a fantastic MMC. He reminded me a lot of Landon and Brandon from the Legacy of Gods series by Rina Kent. Jiya was amazing too. Let’s just say she never gives up and she’s strong! She reminded me of Sloane from Butcher and Blackbird.
I love the Hemlock Society and the found family that they have. I cannot wait to get the other stories. I hope Lazlo’s is next and that Thorne’s story is last.
The plot of this one was fun. I was not expecting that twist though. The whole story was a bit crazy.
Oh and I’ll never look at bowling or glaze the same. Thanks for that.

Tropes: stalking, one sided enemies to lovers, serial killer x serial killer, found family, secret society

So this is kinda new. They’re both vigilante serial killers. Hmmm … I like this take on the double serials. Calloway and Jiya have adventures of their own making, misadventures of their own making, super spicy times aplenty, close calls, find themselves in big time trouble, and of course find their HEA … eventually.

Calloway and Jiya definitely make for a very sexy couple—with a comedic twist.

I usually know within the first page of a book if I'm going to enjoy reading it or its going to take a while, if at all, to get into. This book had me captivated from the very beginning.
The main protagonists meet in the first chapter and it's game on from there. The pacing, didn't lag at all and the lesser likelihood of a female protagonist being the pursuer, was a welcome change.
Jiya's predatory gaze is set on the man she believes is a psychotic killer, but she inadvertently garners the attention of a secret society.
I am hoping there will be more books on the other society members.
I'm not confident in summarising the plot without giving too much away, so I recommend a read if you like your romance and humour on the dark end of the scale and you're not put off by some inventive, sometimes gruesome but morally justified, artful, extinguishing of lives.

Knife To Meet You by KN Wilder
The Hemlock Society book 2

I got the email around 6AM that this was available on BookSprout and IMMEDIATELY went to claim and download. 😂

We met Calloway in book 1 and I was very excited for his story. Calloway is so full of himself so I couldn’t wait for someone to bring him back down to earth.

Calloway and Jiya’s story I do feel like is a a shade darker than book 1. Their banter was great for the 2 of them. Doesn’t top Xander and Oakley though. I loved seeing how both Calloway and Jiya didn’t think themselves capable of love though and were able to work through their individual trauma. Jiya is a bartender by day and a serial una!over by night so it def has a different plot than book 2 which I loved. Calloway is an artist and takes it seriously in his nightly work.

4.5 ⭐️ & only bc I love Xander and Oakley so much. I’m excited for book 3, and if it’s who I think it is. I honestly think it’ll move to the #1 spot for me.

This book has everything I look for in a dark rom-com: a fast-paced plot, lovable characters, and just enough goofiness to make me giggle. I caught myself grinning from ear to ear on multiple occasions as I enjoyed Calloway and Jiya’s shenanigans!

The two main characters are both unique and relatable. Despite their preferred pastimes, it’s easy to root for them as a ready and become invested in their relationship.

Wilder’s writing is witty and flows smoothly, crafting a fast-paced plot that never lags or loses momentum. The stakes raise beautifully as the events progress, which creates a well-rounded plot.

Overall, Knife to Meet You is an exciting, spicy read perfect for anyone looking for their next dark romcom read!.

Ok, continuing in on the Hemlock Society has brought me to a new level of laughter, which probably shouldn't be the case when it comes to a serial k*ller vibes, right?? But once you meet Jiya and Calloway, you realize that there isn't going to be any way around it. Failed flirting attempts, failed m*rder attempts (oh yes, it's in there), and then, top it all off with a failed dr*gging that ends up UNO-reversed! I mean, can you get more crazy with these two?

It turns out, yes you can. And while I can sit here and spoil it for you, I won't because I fell in LOVE with this couple, even moreso (I hate admitting this) than Xander and Ophelia in book one. They are definitely the sweeter couple, but Jiya and Calloway are the out-of-this-world crazy couple and I can't wait to see more of it!

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This series is so.good, I loved book 1 and was a bit worried about book 2 not living up to my high expectations. But I shouldn't have worried, the main characters in this book Calloway and Jiya were just as interesting as the first and it was great to read about all of the other members of the society again.
The story is kind of complete, it doesn't end on a cliffhanger and this couple's story is finished, but there is a certain someone that may reappear in the next book, so I would definitely read them in order.
I won't say too much more but I would highly recommend this book (and series) to anyone that loves DARK rom coms.

Wilder has done it again with their second book in the Hemlock Society series.

Book two follows Calloway Frost dubbed ‘The Gallery Killer’ and Jiya who unbeknownst to Frost, is determined to un-alive him.

Through her failed attempts on Frost, Jiya begins to question whether Frost actually meets her requirements to become one of her victims. When an attempted job goes sideways, Frost emerges from the shadows and saves the day for Jiya. Further crumbling her nearly conjured picture of Frost.

As always, the spice was *chef’s kiss*, the banter was perfect, and the plot had just the right amount of twits and turns.

✨No cheating ✨No third act breakup ✨HEA
