After working as an assistant to Toshiaki Iwashiro, he created the one-shot Hungry Joker, which was later serialized as a full series.

Si voy a ser 100% honesta, este volumen en sí es meh. Muy Disney todo xd cada rival es más poderoso que el anterior, pero por el amor a los hermanos o a sus compañeros, los protagonistas se vuelven más fuertes y pueden derrotarlos... sure. El dibujó decayó una banda, lo cual podría excusarse si las entregas fueran semanales como la mayoría de los shounens, pero nos daban un cap cada TRES MESES. Además muchos paneles de pelea que no se entendían una verga.

Habiendo dicho eso, ya estamos en la recta final, y mi amor por PEAK Clover es mayor que lo que me pueda parecerme el dibujo, así que este tomo se lleva 4 estrellas porque sí porque no soy para nada objetiva uwu ✌🏻

Ichika les explica la antimagia y Luck mood esquizofrenico asesinando inmediatamente a los ángeles, mientras Magna usa sus cadenas de alma en un paladin conectando también a Luck, usando sus respectivos ataques y movimientos, pensando en como no pueden perder ante el otro y usando la antimagia en su último y más fuerte golpe, vencen al paladin, VICTORIA DE MAGNA Y LUCK, OMG, AMO A ESTE DÚO.
Un segundo paladin intenta atacar, los capitanes se fuerzan a seguir luchando y cuando Asta va a ser atacado, todos los toros negros interfieren, dándole paso mientras ellos se encargan.
Mi preciosa vieja aparece, Mereoleona-sama ve a sus hombres dar la vida por ella, comienza a pensar que ha alcanzado su límite, recordando como no tenía rivales y entrenaba y se fortalecida sola, recordando a los caballeros que pese a ser consientes de que no la alcanzarían, seguían a su lado, y aparece mi precioso vato Fuegoleon-sama, pero no lo necesita, pues calcina sus límites, waaaaaaa, consiguiendo una magia de fuego definitiva, regresando a la vida el alma de sus compañeros caídos, quienes no dudan en seguirla, logrando así derrotar a su enemigo. Amo, amo, amooooo mucho a la familia Vermillion.
Con Noelle, Nozel se encuentra herido por proteger a Nebra y Solid, pero los sirenitos lo tratan, mientras Noelle sigue luchando, Solid y Nebra aceptan sus debilidades, lamentan su actuar y se reivindican, protegiendo a Noelle, esperando corregir sus acciones y esperando volver a ser hermanos, por lo que los cuatro retan a su madre, los hermanos Silva en acción.
Como buen hermano mayor, Nozel los cubre, usando un estilo doloroso, mientras Solid y Nebra guían a Noelle, siendo heridos en el proceso, pero ninguno de los tres se detiene, todos aceptan que no se compara a lo que le hicieron a Noelle y que es su manera de redimirse, disculpandose con su hermana, ella confía y lanza su ataque más poderoso, derrotando a su madre, quien sonríe orgullosa y feliz de verlos grandes, fuertes y sobre todo por fin siendo una familia, amooooo.
Y ahora sí, a esperar un año más ajsjaj.

overall, black clover isn’t anything super special in an industry full of amazing stories. I’d even go as far as to call it mid. however, I truly enjoyed this story from start to finish even when it was fairly predictable

I think the character development for such a huge cast was done pretty well. each character of any import had a strong backstory that was called back to in the final fights which I always appreciate. there were lots of characters I liked and was invested in, I think that’s part of the reason I enjoyed reading this so much! the payoff of their arcs and fights were satisfying. the women could’ve been written a little better (and treated with more respect to be frank) but despite their lack of clothes or the fact they each had their government assigned love interest, they were all strong and powerful as individuals and they were developed just as much as their male counterparts for the most part

asta and yuno’s rivalry was fun to follow throughout the story although I assumed the outcome correctly based on how tropey this story can be. this doesn’t mean I dislike it, I think it worked well considering what yuno discovered about himself and also the message of the story would’ve dwindled a little if asta hadn’t prevailed

as cheesy as their sayings were, I can appreciate them for what they were. it felt cheesy in a self aware way at times so I actually found myself smiling when they said things like “my magic is never giving up”

maybe it’s just because I’ve seen the anime, which as of when I watched it was up to around vol 27, but I think this story really started to get good when the twist surrounding julius was revealed. that was the first time, either watching the anime or reading the manga, I was really truly shocked at a plot twist. and from there it just got better! from then on, it really went from a 3.5 to a 4 for me. do I think it’s objectively worth a 4? probably not but again I genuinely enjoyed reading this and I’m glad I did so after 38 volumes and almost 400 chapters, I daren’t give it less than a 4

as a manga only black clover enjoyer, what a treat

it’s quite prototypical in most ways (underdog mc, op rival, underdog team, battle Royal, kingly goal) but stands out in the elements I love most about shounen: consistent art direction, TEAM action sequences and themes of hope and perseverance

not only that but black clover also circumvents the biggest gripes of most shounen and it’s usually a tandem of: (lack thereof) well written integral women, pitiful romance and egregious fanservice; black clover brings ample of the first, negligible amount of the latter two; frankly a best case scenario

I marathoned the last 20ish chapters after seeing it had just ended, and so an arc refresher below; (* fav):

- Magic knights entrance
- Dungeon exploration
- Royal capital assault
- Eye of the midnight sun encounter
- *Seabed temple
- Witches’ forest
- Royal knights
- ****Elf reincarnation; actually one of my favourite arcs in shounen
- Heart kingdom joint struggle
- Spade kingdom raid
- Finale

At just under 400 chapters, I think it’s consistent, well paced, and really fun, the world and abilities expanded beautifully, fun un-repetitive milestone training beats, and characters with a lot of heart and charm

It’s almost odd that for the title “Black Clover” there aren’t really any deeply “dark” or “twisted” story elements, and that’s fine, there’s plenty of others that can fulfil that insistent need

Lost my excitement for a bit because I don’t think Yami and gang’s part was done very well. It felt like we definitely didn’t get enough of an opportunity for Ichika and Yami to interact, the pill thing didn’t have enough setup, and overall it was too fast. Then most of the fights were skipped over to get to Asta and Yuno, which makes sense because it would’ve gotten very repetitive, but that’s an issue with the way the situation was set up. It’s that recurring thing in Black Clover where most of the arc relies on just beating a bunch of guys, but there’s too many guys to beat for it to stay interesting.

Asta and Yuno’s part is pretty sick though, and the twist with Lucius makes a lot of sense. I’m hoping it surpasses the excitement of the last arc’s conclusion. Also Yuno has truly been given everything now, but I have to admit that I’ve been made to like him.

Ok so many good moments like seeing Noelle's brother and sister apologize to her was really well done and I loved we saw more about her past and the past of a bunch of other characters like Mereoleona. The art in this volume was great as Lucius' spells and creatures look amazing and that last minute plan has me wondering what will happen next. And the lore drops like we finally get an answer about the towers.

Ver a ambos rivales que a pesar que fueron “amigos” o como hermanos, se juntan para poder pelear unidos. Representa todo su crecimiento, su promesa de convertirse en Rey Mago y el camino que han recorrido desde el inicio. La batalla está cargada de tensión, giros inesperados y momentos que ponen a prueba no solo su fuerza, sino su convicción.
