From USA Today bestselling author Misty Walker comes an age gap, captive romance between an innocent college co-ed and the man who took her father’s life and who happens to be an enforcer for the Sons of Erebus MC.
Mine is the story you’ve been waiting for, the one about the mysterious man with crazy eyes and no conscience. You only think you know who I am, but you don’t. No one does.
Except her—the little thorn in my side that I captured and locked away after killing her dad right in front of her.
She’ll never forgive me for all I’ve done, but I can live with that because she’s the only one who’s ever seen me. Not the man the club relies on to do the dirty jobs, not the freak who rocks himself in the corner while his pet rats crawl all over him, and not the loner who cares for no one.
She sees me.
So, I’ll keep her under lock and key, expose the deepest parts of my soul to her, and hope someday she might learn to feel for me the way I feel for her.
And should anyone or anything even try to take what’s mine? Well, they better hope I never find them.
Trust me when I say you don’t want to cross a man who has a vivid imagination, a strong stomach, no morals, and a score to settle.

I was chosen to be an ARC reader for Riot’s Thorn, and I just finished it… and WOW. THIS BOOK WAS ABSOLUTELY UNREAL!!! From the very first chapter, I was hooked — completely pulled into the world and desperate to keep turning pages until I reached the end. The plot was packed with twists and turns I never saw coming, each one making me need to know what happened next.
Riot quickly became my favourite character — he’s complex, raw, and the lengths he went to for Parker were unmatched. The chemistry between them was electric, and their moments together had me grinning, tearing up, and holding my breath all at once. The author’s writing style made it so easy to visualize every scene, from the intense, heart-pounding action to the softer, emotional beats that hit right in the feels.
By the time I reached the last page, I wasn’t ready to leave this world behind. This is the kind of story that lingers with you long after you’ve finished it. If you’re looking for a book that will grab your heart, keep your adrenaline pumping, and surprise you at every turn, Riot’s Thorn is it.
This story begins with scenes that let me know there was going to be some serious darkness and that I would be searching the depths of a morally dark grey character to understand the “why’s” of him. Unlocking Lucas, A.K.A., Riot’s story was heart wrenching and it also has a breathtaking, haunting beauty to it. As his past and his thoughts were unraveled I felt such empathy for him. I absolutely adore him and my heart broke for him. I always fall in love with this author’s characters, Riot is top tier special to me. He is slightly unhinged and he doesn’t feel or think the same way I do, it makes him intriguing. I love the grey area of people and life.
Parker, despite being an innocent, moderately naive and wealthy, college student looks closer into him than others and it made my heart so happy, it made me love the way she thinks about things. The way she processes her thoughts and feelings makes her quite the force to be reckoned with, and possibly the one person who sees Riot as more than an oddity and psych0p@th. This doesn’t mean she’s all in and on board with him and his @bduction of her. There’s great tension and fiery back and forth between them. I love the k!nk factor, it’s super spicy, it’s naughty and multifaceted. This author’s spice and steam are never repetitive and never fail to get me hot. The things Parker is told about a big part of the story are dark, disturbing and could be a current event. She struggles with it in a few ways, it’s such a great part of the storyline. It adds suspense, big emotions and truly terrifying danger. The way these two very different types of people interact with each other is so entertaining and it’s powerful. I love the character development and growth so much. The secondary characters have some growing of their own and as always they add heart and humor. I adore the ending so much! This was a seriously emotional story written with understanding and still kept the entertainment flowing. I love this book, series and characters. It’s a unique MC world written so intelligently, emotionally astute and it’s incredibly entertaining. *Heed CW’s, there are things that not everyone can read.*
*I was given the opportunity to read an early copy of this book.*
Lucas aka Riot didn’t grow up in the happiest of places. That’s how he ended up finding a home with the Sons of Erebus MC. Parker was at the wrong place, at the wrong time visiting her father when she is taken by a masked man. Now stuck at his cabin what will Riot do with her? He knows not to leave witnesses but Parker stirred something within that Riot thought was never there. With her life in danger can he make the biggest sacrifice ever and slowly let her in? This is a great addition to this series but can be read as a complete standalone. Lots of MC antics, action, dark themes and violence create the vibe of this dark MC romance for fans of a more gritty tale. I loved learning Riot’s story and his journey to happiness. My heart breaks for all that Riot has been through but don’t worry as there is some comic relief moments also to break up the serious ones. Please check the TW’s a there are a few. Get ready for one dirty talking biker! Told in first person and dual PoV.
I ended up really enjoying this book. You don't need to read the others in the series for it to make sense but I may go back and start the series now. Dark romance so read your triggers. And check out the playlist too! It fits perfectly.
I really enjoyed reading Parker and Riot’s story! The instant obsession Riot had for Parker from the beginning was 🔥. The spice was 🔥🔥 Riot is a dominate, primal, dirty talker that had me blushing throughout the book. I enjoyed that the book also had plot and conflict, as well as an MMC that had a harder time communicating and relating to others. Highly recommend picking up this series if you haven’t yet!! Thank you Misty for the ARC!
I was chosen as an ARC reader!!!! Riot’s Thorn blew me away! Riggers Mistake had been my favorite…. Then Riot came in like the unhinged, morally grey, heart of gold man that he is and took the number 1 spot!!!!!! Riot is not someone you want to cross, his Little Thorn challenge him from the beginning. She was everything he needed!
Riots Thorn by @authormistywalker Book 4 in Sons of Erebus Reno,NV series Available 08.14.2025 5/5⭐️ 4/5🌶️
This book was incredible! But fair warning-it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. If you’re sensitive to blood, gore, primal play, or intense praise/degradation dynamics(hello a dash of BDSM) make sure you read those trigger warnings carefully. That said, if your morally gray heart thrives on dark romance with edge, grit, and intensity, this one delivers in every way. 💯
The plot? Chef’s kiss. Just when I thought I had things figured out, the story twisted in a whole new direction. It kept me on edge and guessing the entire time, dragging out the path to the HEA in the best way possible. And when it finally arrived? So worth it! Every single suspenseful, heart attack inducing and pierced 👀 part of this book was just simply the best!
The story follows Parker, a college student whose life is shattered by a tragic event, sinking her into a world she never saw coming full of danger and threats everywhere she turns. Enter Riot (aka Lucas), a member of the Sons of Erebus. He’s feral, fiercely protective, and gloriously neurodivergent. I loved the representation and the way his character was handled. Parker truly sees him, and in return, he becomes her anchor and protector, giving her the strength to face the darkness threatening her life. Their connection is raw, intense, and beautiful. It’s a powerful mix of pain, healing, and the kind of love that doesn’t flinch at scars. With a strong suspense plot, plenty of action, and a whole lot of spice, this book hits every mark.
Highly recommend for fans of dark, twisty romance with substance and steam.
Thank you to Misty Walker and @thesmuthood for this Advanced Reader Copy. This was my first read by the author but won’t be my last. I can’t wait to read the pervious books in series and learn more about this brotherhood of rough around the edges men of the Sons of Erebus MC.
I’m literally in tears as I’m finishing the book and writing this review. This book was so sweet it literally healed my heart, after breaking it into a million pieces of course, but to me those are the best kind of books. I love a good captive x captor (kidnapping) romance but this is the funniest way it’s been set up. Yes I’m so psychotic that a girl getting kidnapped by the man who killed her father in front of her is considered funny (but only in books ofc and because her fathers a pedophilic piece of crap). It’s even funnier that Riot, the guy who kidnaps her, has absolutely no clue what he’s doing, is terrible at human interaction and basically only likes his pet rats. It’s so funny reading his internal struggle because it’s obvious he likes her but he has no idea. The only thing he understands after a bit is that “she’s his” and it made me giggle and blush. Parker hated him at first but watching her start to understand him, the past that made him that way, and started to accept and love him was the sweetest thing. This plot was good but I have to admit vigilante mmcs are nothing special to me after reading a million of them. It was exciting, the plot twists were nothing I didn’t expect, but it’s got good ups and downs. I however really fell in love with the characters. I saw myself a little in Riot because I’m terrible at communicating with people and I’m very socially awkward and blunt. It was great to see him put more effort into interacting and being friendly with the rest of his crew after meeting Parker. And Parker, although a little annoying at the start, grew on me and I loved her, especially how she always believed in and fought for Riot. They really are the sweetest couple and I was crying at the end because of how happy and relieved I was for their ending. I am so emotionally attached to this book and give it a 5/5
“No, Little Thorn. Now that I’ve claimed you, you’re not going anywhere— not even to heaven, where spoiled brats like you go because”— he looms over me, forcing me to tilt my head back just to meet his gaze—“ even when the Reaper comes to take me away, you won’t be free of me. No, I’ll drag you to the depths of hell right alongside me.”
♡Misty did it again with this one absolute perfection! Misty has a way of writing characters that go through so much trauma & pain and then helping them find the light in their darkness. The plot had me engaged from beginning to end, the spice was top-tier, & I'm going to the pet store for some new pets!
Riot & Parker's story was an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. This book shows that darkness can find its light at the most inconvenient time but it also shows that you need to put your differences aside & look deeper to understand one another & move forward. Parker is the thorn in Riot's side & without her sharpness, he would have never found himself in his darkness. Riot was everything Parker didn't think she needed & by the end, she couldn't imagine needing anyone else more.
If you like dark MC romances with a gripping story, amazing characters, & spice that will make you blush the Sons Of Erebus are waiting for you!♡

I really dislike giving bad reviews when I receive an ARC. I do like to be honest but I don't want to put down the authors hard work. Because I honestly don't know how hard it is to write and publish a book. The only comment I want to make is after 3 books of describing how dark Riot was, he didn't meet my expectation. He was a cute, smart dork and I was expecting dark, dark. More demons to fight. A bigger killing spree. Blood and gore. Very angry and very possesive. We did get some of that at the beginning and end which I very much enjoyed. But he really wasn't what I thought he was in the previous books. Maybe that's my fault for assuming wrong. Overall, I have enjoyed this series. I'm so glad I read this book. And I would absolutely read more books in this series if the author writes them. And it sounds like maybe there are more books coming. Would love a book about Bones.
I received this book as an ARC. Thank you for letting me read this book.

Riot didn’t grow up in a place where happiness came easy. That’s why the Sons of Erebus MC became the only family he’s ever known. Broken, loyal, and dangerous.. that’s the life he chose.
Parker was in the wrong place at the worst possible time.. just visiting her father when everything went sideways. Kidnapped by a masked stranger and taken to a remote cabin, she never expected the man behind the mask to be Riot. And Riot never expected her.
He’s not supposed to leave witnesses. That’s the rule. But Parker awakens something in him he thought was long dead. As her life hangs in the balance, Riot faces a choice that could change everything.. can he risk it all and let her in?
A dark and gritty MC romance full of action, violent twists, and raw emotion, this standalone installment in the Sons of Erebus series dives deep into Riot’s tortured past and unexpected path to redemption. Told in dual first-person POV, it’s a ride packed with MC chaos, dirty talk, emotional punches, and the occasional touch of humor to lighten the shadows
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve read a Misty Walker book, and let me tell you it was definitely worth the wait! For such a sweet soul Misty writes books that couldn’t be more opposite.
The Sons of Erebus are not to be underestimated, from vengeance, to protection, these men do everything at 110%. They are loyal, to their club, to their women, they will step up and aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. Riot is the perfect example of this, he’s often considered a bit psychotic, and he very well may be, but that’s just a small part of him and Parker is the only one too look deeper, no matter how many red flags he is waving.
This book was great, there is some scary, dark subject matter, and Riot and Parker’s relationship is not going to be for everyone. So if you are looking for sunshine and unicorns this one might not be for you. BUT, if you like questionable heroes whose appetites are far from vanilla then run, don’t walk and get this book!
Wow!! Holy amazing book Batman!!! It’s been a minute since I’ve sunk my teeth into a Misty Walker book! And let me just tell you i have miss this scrimp little crumb cake f an author!
So, before I received my ARC of, Riot’s Thorn, I asked if I could read this as a stand-alone ( which yes you can) however, it was high recommended that I read them in order to fully appreciate and understand Riot. So, down the rabbit hole i went and tackled booms 2 and 3 … and y’all, definitely read in order!! I get why it now … “ the story you’ve been waiting for”. And Jesus what a store indeed! My heart broke this beautifully broken boy. I loved getting in his kind. Even if it was filled with darkness and pain. He was so complex and his love for his thorn was some epic level ish.
The world, Misty has created and brought to life is nothing short of amazing and I’m just happy to be here for it. I can honestly say that of all the wickedly delicious men in this MC, Riot is hands down my fav. ROOT ROOT RIOT!!!!
If you’re looking for a story unlike any other, filled with grit, emotion and heartbreaking beauty, then do yourself a favor and come say hi to Riot and his lovely thorn.
* ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review **
Misty did it again!!! I dont think I have read a book yet of hers I didn’t like. And I honestly don’t know if I could pick one book from the SOE or RB series that is my favorite they are that good!! Misty is definitely in my top 5 go to authors.
I was lucky enough to be picked to read the arc for this book and I absolutely loved it! I kind of had a suspicion that Roland was involved or knew more than he let on. But after Parker was rescued I was like ok maybe I’m wrong. And then when he came to her house after Riot left I knew something was up with the way he was acting. I really liked how the club realized they didn’t really know Riot and how started to see his quirks and did things to help him with them.

I liked this one! I thought I had more trouble connecting to the MMC but he intrigued me from the start, owning his issues and quirks. Eventually being able to voice his needs and evolve into his best version which I found really refreshing.
The FMC started out a little annoying (but I guess anyone would be in her shoes) but I liked her character arc and the growth she went through in order to be with the MMC.
I really liked their story together but also their journeys apart from each other. One of the few times a break up was actually necessary for the story!
Misty has an awesome writing style that always draws me in. I started reading Riot's Thorn last night and finished it this morning. Be prepared to settle in because you won't want to put it down!
Wow what a book!! I was very lucky to receive an ARC and what a fantastic book to read! From the beginning Riot and Parker just made my heart melt, their relationship was tough at times to read but they were so suited for each other. Misty really delved into Riot's background which made me fall in love with him even more. Definitely read the other 3 books prior to reading this book. It will give you background for all the key characters. Run, don't walk to this book!! You won't be disappointed. Definitely 5 stars!!!
I was selected to be an ARC reader for Riots Thorn and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this book was amazing. I’ve read a couple of books from Misty Walker before so it’s no shock to me that this was a great read. I probably would have read this book in a day if I didn’t have other responsibilities. I loved Riot’s character development throughout the book and the spicy scenes were out of this world. I mean who doesn’t love a “touch her and die” overprotective biker with a nasty mouth? I will admit that I did not read the previous books in this series but this book alone has made me want to go back to see what I’m missing!
Thank you to The Smuthood for the ARC opportunity!
Misty Walker done did it again! I already read 11 of her books so I was ecstatic when I was chosen to be an ARC reader for Riots Thorn! Let me tell you Riot and Parker’s dynamic will definitely keep you on your toes. I enjoyed the dual person POV, getting little tidbits about characters from the previous SOE books plus all the twists and turns! #MistyWalker #RiotsThorn #TheSmuthood
Everyone knows that I love some Misty Walker and I feel her books keep getting better and better. Riot's book is nothing short of a perfect dark romance with a side of kinky fun!!
Riot has always been the dark soul of the club, feeding the darkness that calls out to him. Riot is one man that should always be feared but when a job/hit gets a "little thorn" interrupting everything, Parker gets thrown into a dark world that suddenly unlocks something within her, freeing the one thing she has been craving.
Their relationship is not perfect, for heavens sake the man locks her in the cabin with his pet rats, who she gets attached to. Just when you think they become one, she changes the script and Riot watches from afar still showing her that she will only ever belong to her. Then others come to make sure they never happen ever again.
This book is dark and delicious and the perfect combination for any dark romance lover. This book gives Lucky and Judge kinky side a run for their money. I feel this was the perfect amount of spice and plot. Riot is just a hungry man and the only thing on his menu it the "thorn in his side" Parker. And Parker's transformation of finding herself and learning to love all parts of her, even if they were some of the scariest ones.
As always I will continue to love this series!! I'm still a Lucky fan myself but Riot is just a cherry on top. (some pun intended).
ARC reader!!! I absolutely ate this book UP! I love a good biker, age gap, forced proximity, touch her and ___, slow burn, one bed, he falls first, unhinged MMC. Riot our MMC has had a rough and misunderstood life and in walks his Thorn aka Parker. Her life is in danger and she is oblivious to the danger so what does Riot do kidnap her to keep her safe! The banter, push, and pull will keep you guessing until the end of the book! Amazingly written I loved it!!!
🏍️ Dark MC Romance 🩶 Forced Proximity 🏍️ One Bed 🩶 Captor/Captive 🏍️ Pierced MMC 🩶 Virgin FMC 🏍️ Age Gap
Well, damn! I’m not sure what I was expecting going into this, but I was pleasantly surprised that the trigger warnings didn’t trigger me and the neurodivergence rep was incredibly well done. Please read the trigger warnings because this is a dark romance, but it’s my favourite kind—where the MMC is obsessed with the FMC and most of the dark is outside their relationship. Don’t get me wrong, Riot is absolutely morally grey, with so many red flags and questionable choices, but protecting his girl any way he knew how became the drive because that’s ✨his✨Little Thorn.
Riot is a complex character, who felt very real. He came from an abusive home with a narcissistic mother and deadbeat father, and he struggles with human interaction and emotions in general, making it even harder because he had to fend for himself from a young age. His past really tugged those heartstrings—especially as an autistic parent with an autistic child. His calm down corner, headphones, special interests, routines really created a character who most people couldn’t connect with, but who some of us absolutely see.
Just like his Thorn. Parker is the daughter of a rich businessman who comes from old money. She was raised on the periphery of that world before being entrenched in it when she became an adult. On one of her visits with her dad, she’s thrown into a situation she never thought she’d be in: her father shot in cold blood and her being abducted by his killer. A killer who doesn’t know what he plans to do with her yet, but he knows he’s not letting her go because she isn’t safe.
But things are not always as they seem. And while Parker’s world comes crashing down with the secret lives of the ultra rich being exposed, she’s held captive in a new one and loses that naivety along the way. She’s sassy and bratty, a fighter, but she also has a lot of heart. She doesn’t want to care for Riot, but she also sees human truly sees him, unlike everyone else around him. The dynamic between Riot and Parker from the start was electric and you knew when she finally gave in it would be so satisfying. And it was! The spice was extra spicing with Riot’s dirty mouth, a virginal college girl with a praise/degradation kink, and two people used to fighting for control.
There is the underlying plot throughout this, so heed those trigger warnings because the culmination is wild. The pacing of the story was done well because I never felt it dragging and was engrossed the entire time. I read it in one sitting.
If you like them dark, obsessed, and pierced, Riot’s your new man. Come stalk along with us.
Riot's Thorn is book 4 of the Sons of Erebus: Reno, NV series. I experienced so much emotions with this one. Misty wrote each emotions so vivid that my heart broke for Riot. And Im not mad. When I say I enjoyed each page, I couldn't put it down!
Riot is the enforcer for the Sons of Erebus MC. He has no emotions, no morals and doesn't associate with others. He likes to research, has an interesting imagination and says whats on his mind without any type of filter. He grew up poor with a really abusive and manipulative. She really messed him up. His only friends were rats.
Parker grew up with her father that inherited his father's business. Her mother died when Parker was young. She has never been one for the lavarish lifestyle. Her only family is her father, who is actually not a good man. He hid what his father, himself and their friends were actually doing, human trafficking.
Riot was sent to accompany a fellow MC, Killer, to unalive Parker's father. Riot couldn't bring himself to do the same to Parker. Instead he took her. He kept her captive and protected her from her father's friends who wants to hurt her.
Riot starts feelings these emotions for her. He has never felt anything for someone, his own MC looks at him like all he will ever be is a psychopath unaliver. With Parker he is different. She sees him differently and helps him to start to feel.
Parker discovers her father's secrets when Riot informs her and at first finds a hard time accepting what he did. She starts to learn to be her true self and not what she was expected to be by her father.
Parker finds herself in danger and Riot will stop at nothing to protect her and bring justice to those who hurt her. She is his thorn on his side and he is her dark and morally grey anti hero that saves her.
I fell so hard for Riot! He is strong and vulnerable. He can't explain how he feels for Parker but he shows her how much she means to him.
This read deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Parker is innocent but has a side to her, only Riot can bring out. He is a dom that likes to punish her and give her pain mix with pleasure. He would never hurt her. He takes care of her, but he teaches her what they both enjoy. 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶.
Wow, just wow! Riot’s Thorn is a raw and gripping dark romance that takes you on a ride through the turbulent life of Riot, an undiagnosed neurodivergent biker with a haunting past. With severe trauma lurking beneath his tough exterior, Riot is portrayed as a reclusive figure that many might mistake for a psychopath. But as the story unfolds, layers of his character are peeled back, revealing a depth that is both heartbreaking and beautiful.
The moment Riot crosses paths with Parker, the story takes a thrilling turn. Their initial meeting is anything but ordinary, as Riot abducts her in a twist that jolts the narrative into high gear. But what truly captivated me was Parker's ability to see beyond Riot's intimidating facade. She recognizes the pain and vulnerability he hides beneath the surface, and their connection becomes a powerful exploration of understanding and acceptance.
Misty does an incredible job of crafting a complex character in Riot. His struggles with neurodivergence and trauma are portrayed with sensitivity and authenticity, shedding light on the often misunderstood experiences of those who navigate life through a different lens. The chemistry between Riot and Parker is spicy and filled with tension, fear, and ultimately, a profound bond that challenges both of their perceptions of love and healing.
The pacing is superb, keeping me on the edge of my seat as I navigated the twists and turns of their journey. The writing is vivid and immersive, painting a picture of the gritty biker world while also delving into the emotional landscapes of the characters. Moments of intense action are beautifully balanced with quiet, introspective scenes that tug at your heartstrings.
If you're looking for a story that combines elements of suspense, romance, and personal growth, Riot’s Thorn is a must read! It’s a tale that reminds us that everyone has their battles to fight, and sometimes, the most unlikely connections can lead to the most profound transformations.
Riot's Thorn is a dark romance that tells the story of Riot and Parker. This is the 4th book into the Sons of Erebus series. I want to be upfront and say that I have not read any other books in this series or any other book by Misty Walker. However, with that said, I will, for sure, be looking into the other books in this series if they are just as good as this one. Even with not reading the first three, I wasn't lost. It can definitely be read as a standalone.
Riot is a very complex character. Growing up, he didn't have the best upbringing and takes matters into his own hands when he finally has enough. He ends up with the Sons of Erebus biker group and becomes their "enforcer". However, he is quiet, moody, keeps to himself, doesn't care for loud things, and doesn't talk or care for relationships.
Parker is the daughter of a rich businessman and the only heir to his money and business. While home one night, she gets thrown into Riot's world when she witnesses something unimaginable and ends up kidnapped and placed in forced proximity with Riot.
During this time, Riot begins to realize that this strange girl brings feelings out of him that he didn't think were possible. Parker also fights the feelings she is beginning to have with this man whom she hates most in this world right now.
During all this, Parker has been "shown the light" on the going ons of people she trusted. And the people whom she thought were the bad guys are really, in fact, the opposite.
Without spoiling the plot, I'll say things happen later in the book that requires Parker and Riot to be separated. During this separation, Parker gets into some trouble, and it's up to Riot and his brothers to help find and save her.
This one was a win for me. I was hooked from the beginning and really took a liking to Riot right away. He takes "touch her and 💀" to a whole other level.
The story revolves around a mysterious man with crazy eyes and no conscience, who is only known to his thorn in the side, who he captured and locked away after killing her dad. He hopes she will forgive him for his actions, as she is the only one who has ever seen him. He believes that anyone trying to take his possessions should hope he never finds them.
Tropes: - Captive - One bed - Age gap - Forced proximity - Dirty talking mmc - Motorcycle club
Parker ignited something within Riot, a feeling he can't quite grasp. He intends to keep her near, unveiling his true self in hopes that she may one day comprehend and even care for him. Can he truly allow her in? The little thorn in his side 🌹
"She's beautiful like a rose but really, she's just a goddamn thorn in my side"
I cherished witnessing the evolution of their relationship, observing Riot's path to happiness. It was a distinctive portrayal of his character, especially when he struggled with typical jokes or metaphors. From the start, he was clear about his desires; he just needed a little guidance to reach them. She always resided on one side of the world, but when everything crumbles, it's Riot who catches her as she tumbles down. I adored her character and the witty comebacks that often landed her in intriguing predicaments.🤭
"Now let me clear it up for you too. You can run away all you want, but I’ll always find you and bring you back to me. You’re mine until the day we die.”
Plenty of MC shenanigans, humorous moments, dark themes, taboo subjects, and gritty details. Believe me when I say, you do not want to provoke a man with a vivid imagination, a strong constitution, no ethics, and a score to settle.
Please check TW *Riot’s Thorn is the fourth installment in the Sons of Erebus MC: Reno, NV series. Each book can stand alone, but they are best enjoyed in sequence.
This narrative starts with moments that indicate there would be significant darkness, prompting me to explore the complexities of a morally ambiguous character to grasp his motivations.
Discovering Lucas, also known as Riot's tale, was both heartbreaking and possessed an astonishing, haunting beauty.
As his history and his feelings were revealed, I experienced deep empathy for him. I truly love him and my heart shattered for him. I constantly find myself enamored with this author's characters; Riot holds a special place in my heart. He is a bit eccentric, and his thoughts and feelings differ from mine, which makes him fascinating. I enjoy the ambiguous aspects of individuals and existence.
Parker, although an innocent, somewhat naive, and affluent college student, examines him more deeply than anyone else, and it brings me immense joy; I adore her perspective on various matters. Her manner of processing thoughts and emotions renders her a significant presence, potentially the only individual who views Riot as more than just an anomaly and a psychopath. This doesn’t imply that she’s fully committed and supportive of him and his abduction of her. There’s significant strain and intense exchanges occurring between them.
I adore the k!nk aspect; it’s incredibly exciting, mischievous, and complex. The seasoning and intensity from this writer are always fresh and consistently ignite my passion.
The information Parker receives regarding a significant portion of the narrative is grim, unsettling, and may represent a contemporary issue. She contends with it in several ways; it's a significant aspect of the narrative. It creates tension, intense feelings, and genuinely frightening threats.
Psycho Thorns hurt so good I love Parker’s determination. Her life changes, she is forced to make some hard pivots, but she keeps moving forward. “The goals and dreams I had are gone, and I need time to figure out what to replace them with.” She has to re-examine every event in her life. The motivations and actions of her loved ones she thought she understood and viewed as normal, get painted in a new color. Marveled by the plot turn. Not typical or expected. I was pleasantly surprised. It fit the couple to a tee though. Logical, straightforward, and intentional. It was meant. Riot can be harsh at times. Even his internal monologue is unforgiving. Riot may not always understand, but he loves Parker and tries the best. I like that we break stereotypes in this world. It’s not the closed minded world you usually see portrayed in books. I’d love art of Parker’s room! It sounds so pretty and really gives you the first insight & glimpse into who she is as a person. I feel like it’s a first chink in the armor for Riot as well. I loved the homage to EL James’ Fifty Shades of Grey. I had to giggle sometimes when it felt like the authors personal views and opinions came out through Parker’s dialogue or inner monologue. I’m only assuming, but it definitely made me chuckle either way. You could feel the spirit, passion, and even spite. I would definitely recommend this book to fans of Tillie Cole’s Souls Unfractured & My Maddie, as well as fans of T M Frazier’s King & Tyrant.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Riot isn’t your typical MC bad boy. He’s neurodivergent, a little psychopathic, and completely unapologetic about who he is. Dominant, obsessive, and protective to the bone, he lives by his own code, hurting only those who deserve it. But behind that dangerous edge is a man who needs calm, who finds comfort in a small hidden room, and who loves his two pet rats, Ben and Amy, like family.
Parker has lived a sheltered, privileged life—sweet, smart, and kind, but with a quiet hunger for something darker. She craves something she’s never had, and once Riot has her, there’s no going back.
Their story kicks off in the most brutal way. Parker is hiding in a cupboard when Riot murders her father. He should end her too, but something in him won’t let him. Instead, he takes her to his home at the Sons of Erebus compound, and everything changes. Parker learns the ugly truth about her father, and Riot; cold, violent Riot, finds himself opening up to the woman who should have been nothing more than a loose end.
The way Misty Walker wrote Riot’s neurodivergence was beautiful, full of care and respect. His hidden safe space and his quiet moments with Ben and Amy melted me just as much as his filthy, commanding side in the bedroom. And oh, that chemistry with Parker? Off the charts. Possessive, obsessive, filthy, and tender all at once.
This book gave me everything—danger, obsession, intense spice and a hero who’s imperfect in all the best ways. Parker’s kindness and strength paired with Riot’s rough edges and vulnerability made for a romance I couldn’t put down. If you love MC romances where the hero would burn the world to protect his woman, this is the one for you.
Buckle up, babes, because Riot’s Thorn is not your sweet-and-fluffy, hand-holding romance. Nope. Misty Walker came for our sanity with this one, and she brought the 🔥SPICE🔥 in a duffel bag, zipped wide open.
Riot is that delicious brand of alpha male, danger wrapped in tattoos, a growl for a voice, and a tongue that knows its way around a sin or two. He’s broody, bossy, and let’s be honest, the kind of man who makes you forget how to spell your own name after one look. Parker? She’s no simpering damsel…sharp, stubborn, and totally ready to call him on his nonsense (when she’s not fantasizing about exactly what those rough hands can do). The push-pull between them is like watching fireworks in a match factory, reckless, loud, and just begging to go up in flames.
And can we talk about the spice? This book doesn’t just toe the line, it drags it across the floor and sets it on fire. Misty Walker delivers page after page of tension-snapping, blush-worthy, “did I just gasp out loud?” moments. It’s the kind of heat that makes you side-eye your Kindle like it’s complicit in your corruption.
But here’s the kicker…beneath all the smolder, Riot’s Thorn still packs an emotional punch. It’s not just about the chemistry (though, trust me, that’s volcanic). There’s grit, vulnerability, and the kind of connection that makes the swoon hit just as hard as the spice.
In short: this book is a wild ride with a dirty-talking hero, a fierce heroine, and enough steam to power a small city. Read it when you want to grin, blush, and maybe fan yourself a little (or a lot).
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ — because anything less would be a crime against hotness.
