How far will someone go to keep her right where they want her?
Perfect for fans of Verity, The Last Mrs. Parrish, and You, Fatal Obsession is a chilling tale of love, deception, and the dark side of desire.
A wealthy family—mom, dad, and their two daughters—spend their summer at an extravagant resort. 🌴 I can’t imagine being rich enough to vacation for the entire summer! 💸
What stood out was how quickly Dr. Jared Brooks seemed invested in Tess Prescott’s love life. Too quickly! Tess’s summer at Breakers Resort involves alot of sneaking around and secrets because she has fallen for Jason Moretti, a man tied to a dangerous crime syndicate. Trust quickly becomes a rare commodity as Tess faces manipulation and the unsettling realization of how far people will go to control her.
Everyone, including her family, friends, and even the easy going but persistent Dr. Brooks, warns her to stay away from Jason. But Tess is convinced she sees the “real” Jason, the man behind the façade. Still, secrets surface, and the lies become harder to ignore.
The banter between Tess and Jared is witty and entertaining, and just when you’re enjoying their exchanges, it escalates into a passionate kiss! It all feels a bit like something I might have read back in high school, but that adds to the nostalgic charm.
I just finished "Fatal Obsession"!! What a page-turner!! It will keep you on the edge of your seat & wondering what's going to happen next!!! Another 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 read!!
📚 Book Review by R.M. Campbell 📚 Fatal Obsession By N. H. Steele ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tess Prescott and her family embark on the perfect summer vacation at a luxurious resort that has all the amenities vacation dreams are made of. Her father, a prominent physician, has made all the plans for the family vacation, including a luxury cabin overlooking a lake, fine food, a spa, hiking trails, and even an on-site physician, the young and handsome Dr. Jared Brooks. Little does Tess’s father know that Tess has a boyfriend, Jason Moretti, who has ties to criminal elements, a factor that Tess prefers to ignore for love. Tess plans to sneak out to meet up with Jason every chance she can. When Jarad Brooks is introduced to Tess, he is immediately captivated by her, and when Tess gets the chance to work for Dr. Brooks, she jumps at the opportunity, hoping it will make meeting up with Jason easier. Jarad learns of Jason’s background and becomes obsessed with trying to protect Tess from the dangers associated with being entangled with Jason, and will do anything in his power to tear them apart, including lecturing Tess, lying, and manipulating her. Tess is torn, confused, and uncertain about what direction her future should take. I utterly enjoyed reading this book; it was fabulous. The world-building was incredible, and I found myself conflicted with the dilemma that haunted Tess. The plot was exceptionally well-written with plenty of action, emotions, suspense, and tension that will keep the reader turning pages. The romantic segments were clean but heart-wrenching, and the reader could feel the intensity of the characters' feelings. The story was unpredictable, with some unexpected twists that created surprises as the story developed. This was definitely a page-turner for me and left me wanting more. I would highly recommend Fatal Obsession. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.
