Sometimes big things come in small packages.

Nyx has found a possible mate, but he’s pretty certain Fate made a mistake. Not only is his mate working in a brothel, which is playing merry hell with Nyx’s possessive side, he’s also a Pixie. Pol is small and delicate, and Nyx is certain he would break the poor man within a week. Nyx will just wait until the next candidate comes around. The fact that this is the first potential mate he’s come across in several hundred years is, of course, beside the point. Unfortunately, no matter how hard Nyx tries, he can’t keep away. When he finds himself on the verge of turning into a stalker, Nyx gives in to the inevitable and goes traipsing off to claim his Pixie.

When Nyx comes bursting into his life, Pol is thrilled to accept the dragon as his mate. No one would call Nyx charming, yet he still manages to sweep Pol off his feet—quite literally, at times. Once the first flush of lust wears off, though, Pol begins to worry that he’s made a mistake. The problem isn’t Nyx. Pol is well on his way to loving the reserved dragon. But Pol is harboring a dangerous secret. A secret with the potential to upset the balance of power in Faerie…

There be dragons.

Yep. I'm a sucker for dragons. Toss in the idea of a pixie, too and I'm all in.

Pol is the shy, halfbreed working in a brothel when all of sudden change comes. Even as he's swept off his feet and taken away by Nyx--he's got a secret. As you can imagine a pixie and a dragon have a scale issue, and I'm not just talking about Nyx's hide.

I liked this better than the first. More plot and twists with Pol and his background in contrast to Cody who came from Earth and those lineage became irrelevant when he entered the Fae realm. There's history here, and consequences.

Seamus, king of the Fae is prickly as fae are wont to be. His judgement is impaired and it takes calmer heads to help sort the situation out. This leads to tension, a diplomacy matter to handle, and a time sensitive to address--Tick-tock.

Overall, sweet romance with a political hullabaloo.

Favorite quote:
Pol was prettier than any glitter, prettier than anything Nyx had in his hoard

Loved this! Pol was adorable, and so was Nyx.

Also, I liked Cody in this book :)

The pixie aspect caught my interest right away with all the magic it entailed, and the politics involved added spice to the story that was missing in the first book of the series.

There were some issues with the story, things being dropped or happening off page, but I was enjoying the MCs so much, I didn't really care. One thing I did care about, though, was the ending. While the story didn't end in a cliffhanger, it definitely felt unfinished which I'm not a fan of. I'll be reading the next book, though :)

A sweet, well written & edited, funny fantasy romance. With dragons! Thoroughly enjoyed, but dismayed to discover no news for author since March of 2016. Unknown if another in the series is planned.

Reread Jan 24, 2018: it still hold up as a 3.5 - 3.75 star read. Sad to see that the author still hasn’t written another story in the series.

This one was fun. A quick read with growly, possessive mates, and in this case, the romance between an antisocial dragon and a half-breed Pixie that can coax nature with his song. I liked it.

I really like the world KM Mahoney has created in this book.

Pol is a delightful hero because he is underestimated all the time. His secret powers are amazing and he is a pixie which grand.

Nyx is a grumpy dragon shifter but he always treat Pol as an equal.

The plot outside the love story is less intersting but I like this couple.

even better than the first one.

I definitely liked this one better than the first. I loved Pol he was so cute. And Nyx came across well. Again the literal dragons created seem entertaining dialogue. I loved seeing Cody and Kirik in this one. Cody was still very protective of the dragons but I also enjoyed his protection of Pol.
Can't wait for Chaos story and even Ravens (I have a soft spot for him)

Nyx’s Pixie is the second installment in K.M. Mahoney’s A Dragon’s Treasure series and I feel a much better novel than the first. Those who recall the tale of the four remaining dragon shifters who now serve the Faerie King, Seamus will remember Nyx as the more quiet and reserved of the group. On one of the many missions that Nyx does for the King he runs across a small man who is a servant in a well to do brothel run by a man named Jamal.

The pixie known as Pol has been take in by Jamal in order to keep him safe from the governing Pixie forces who would be more interested in seeing him dead than take the role he was born to assume. When Nyx discovers that this pixie half-breed is indeed his mate, he swiftly moves in to make Pol his own. But Nyx is a dragon shifter, huge in stature and he fears that the mating of a pixie and a dragon may in fact injure his love despite his gentle feelings toward Pol.

The two lovers have bigger issues than size, however, for Pol is being pursued by a shady past and by a King who despises Pixies and will not tolerate them inside his borders. Now Nyx may find himself torn between protecting his mate and serving his King.

Nyx’s Pixie was fast paced, humorous and a very sweet love story. However, those readers seeking a neatly tied up package and a clear cut ending may be disappointed for there are many questions left unanswered in this second novel which sets up the potential third in the series quite nicely. The key hanging plot point would be the “Renewal” the dragons must undergo which forces them into a sleep state for at least two months, leaving behind both Pol and Cody behind without their mates. There is also the question of the mystery that surrounds the power Pol carries inside him and his inability to control it. The combination of the two forces that make up Pol’s genealogy are rare as a match and threatens both King Seamus and any other nobility.

However the real strength of this novel lay in the characters of Pol and Nyx themselves. Such gentleness and pure fun these two have with each other! Their mutual love and respect is so lovely to watch evolve and unlike the harsher and more brash character that Cody is, Pol is the total opposite with a quiet inner core of strength that was a perfect foil to his fretful giant dragon, Nyx.

All in all I was not bothered by what might some term the cliffhanger in this novel nor was I puzzled by the lack of resolution with Pol’s position in the Pixie hierarchy. I felt that it would simply be more fodder for the next book in the series and allow us to see more of this wonderful couple.

This book is the real deal - everything a reader could want in a story. Interesting well-developed characters, a plot with enough tension to keep it interesting, and a great cliff-hanger ending. Then that was when I discovered this author has not made an appearance since 2017. This cliff-hanger seems to be the end and I will be forever left 'hanging.'

Pixie delicious!

I liked this story and I really love these draak. I want Raven to have another chance at a mate, and I DEFINITELY want to see who Chaos ends up with. And do we have a possible paramour for our dear over-worked king? Definitely worth the wait, but I want more!!

Reviewed for The Novel Approach.

Disclaimer: I did not read the first book in the series. Not yet anyway. After reading Nyx’s Pixie, though, I most certainly will go back and read it. Despite having missed out on seeing Cody and Kirit bond, I don’t think that took away from my enjoyment of this novel, and I would argue that you don’t need to read the first book in the series in order to understand what happens in this one, or even what occurred—for the most part—in the previous book.

Set in the world of the Fae, this novel follows one of the Draak (think shape-shifting dragons), Nyx, as he finds a potential mate and comes to term with the fact that the tiny man is a Pixie. Pol, the Pixie, is a half-breed, though, and with him comes trouble that pretty much no one in the world of the Fae wants. I don’t want to give anymore away because it would ruin the story, though I did guess what his other half was before Pol revealed it.

I enjoyed the characters, both main and secondary. There are a few times when the story diverges and focuses on Cody, Kirit, Seamus, and the others. I liked that because even though Nyx and Pol are great characters, it enabled me to see more of the world they live in. And while I loved the main characters, I think Chaos might be my favorite, even if readers only get a few brief glimpses of him in this book. It makes me really hope the next book focuses on him, because I can only imagine what shenanigans he’s going to get up to. I also look forward to Pol and Cody bonding as dragon-mates and trying to keep the four grumbly dragons in line. And boy are they grumbly. Literally.

Also: Kirit taking a nap on his hoarde. HA. Adorable. Such a typical dragon.

Onto the sex in the book. There isn’t much, but when it occurred I at least was surprised by it. Not in a bad way of course, but I wasn’t expecting the author to change things up a bit. But readers who prefer a story with only a few sex scenes will likely enjoy this book.

Seeing as this is supposed to be a series, there is definitely going to be a sequel. Even if I hadn’t known that based on the website information, the ending set it up perfectly for that. I’m not sure how the other one ends, but given how this one started, I’m wondering if it also ended in a similar manner.

Nyx is a dragon, working for the Fae king in a city far from his home, when he comes across a person who is his mate. His mate is working in a brothel, and is half pixie. The king doesn't like pixies, and no one likes pixies mixed with other species. However, Nyx takes Pol away from the brothel, and gets him a home, but doesn't introduce Pol to his clutch mates or the king. But things are discovered, and Pol's other half could result in banishment.

This is a re-read. I had it marked as a book I found humourous. Uhhhh. I don't know what I was thinking, because I don't think I smiled once while reading this. It was cute, don't get me wrong, but not laugh-out-loud-until-you-can't-breathe funny. I liked that Nyx didn't have any qualms about Pol, knowing that his mate would not try to harm the kingdom or people. I also liked that Nyx had NO idea what citizens called the area where he bought a house, thinking only about what Pol would like and if he would be happy. Pol was scrappy and fun, and didn't take any guff from anyone, not even the king. I still enjoyed this, but lowered my rating because it just wasn't a 4 star read.

Nyx is pretty sure fate has made a mistake but he gives in to the inevitable and claims his pixie only things are much worse than he thought because Pol harbors a dark secret that could put Nyx at odds with the King in this captivating m/m paranormal fantasy romance. The story is fun and full of passion with charming characters and interesting elements that kept me captivated until the very end and I am looking forward to reading Chaos’ story since I am pretty sure he will be up to something. The story can be read as a stand-alone but I think it’s better if you read them in sequence for better understanding of the characters and their world.

Great writing style, some of the most lovable characters ever created and a solid story. I had a major problem with the ending; it's not a cliffhanger but just felt unfinished. Pixies issue insufficiently resolved, dragons beginning a long nap, 2 mates we can assume were going to stay in the castle but never sure .... just too many dangling issues. The first book was much more complete.

This was a enjoyable read... I liked Nix and Pol.. I think their story was more interesting than the 1st book...probably because it had more of a plot..and you learned a little more of what may come in future books..now waiting on book 3

Cute. I would have liked more depth, both of character and in the setting, and more tension in the pacing, but it was a good evening's diversion, and I found it enjoyable.
