I never expected to want the icy hot Elena Vitale.
Elena Vitale—my new stepsister, the heiress to a family I was raised to fear, and dangerously, impossibly alluring. Her every glance is a challenge, every touch a temptation I shouldn’t crave.
Our parents’ union was supposed to end decades of bloodshed between the Morettis and the Vitales. But instead of peace, it ignited something I can’t control.
She’s fearless, cunning, and effortlessly magnetic. And now, with her in my life, every rule I’ve ever followed feels meaningless.
Elena doesn’t care that desire between us could spark a war in Ravenport. She’s intent on breaking me, on testing my limits, and on proving just how addictive danger can be.
I thought surviving the Vitale-Moretti feud was impossible.
But surviving Elena? That’s a temptation I’m not sure I want to resist.
This is a dark, forbidden mafia romance between women, with intense themes throughout. Reader discretion is advised. See inside for content warning.
Wholly unlikable main characters is toxic and gets her way. The end.
The entire book is one character throwing irrational toddler-esque fits that repeatedly put her in harms way while the other just simps over her while she tries to keep her alive.
There was no character arc. I didn't want them to be together. There was no dark themes. They didn't even get to know each other out of bed at any point, so there was no relationship depth.
Action movie level violence, with one extremely unlikable character who lacked ANY redeeming qualities. The step sister thing is barely in focus. The kink was just baiting, it never happened. The spice was pretty decent for a vanilla novel. There was no emotional depth to it.
It's a story about a rich fentanyl dealing alcoholic brat who is obscenely stupid (intentionally it seems) and self absorbed who ruins everything for everyone around her, then gets everything she wants anyway. Never have I been so disappointed by an HEA.
Two stars because the premise, set up, hook, and plot points were good, and I didn't hate the mob bosses daughter. I didn't like her, she was blinded by her own insane privilege ideologically, ("poor people are poor because they don't work hard" is an easy stance to take when you were born filthy rich and laws and rules dont apply to you as a Mafia kid) which would have been fine if there'd been some character development there...but otherwise, she was a cool character, even if her lack of follow through with her darker/kinkier thoughts was disappointing. I felt bad that she got stuck with basically the most useless love interest ever.
I didn’t not enjoy it but it didn’t quite grip me by the throat! It just felt like it was missing something 🤔. The spice felt rushed and didn’t have quite enough description. There were also some parts that felt unnecessary. I did enjoy the story, it had some of my favourite tropes and micro tropes!
Written in First Person with 2x POV’s. Sapphic Mafia, Step Sisters, Dark Romance, Ice Queen, Femme/Femme. 8x Spicy Scenes.
Elena - mafia princess/ice queen Bianca - gold star mafia brat
Total opposites and they can't stand each other. Which makes their attraction to each other super explosive. This story has it all - spice, danger, family drama, all around the family business. I really enjoyed this and can't wait to read more!
A dark, mafia, Ice-queen type of romance with a healthy dose of back-and-forth angst between two new stepsisters who find themselves in deep with each other and equally at odds with one another. There are HIGH amounts of steaminess in this one, but they kind of felt a bit plain and rudimentary in terms of the dynamics and in terms of the style it is written in.
Good bones to this story, I like mafia romances but I truly didn't like Bianca she was a complete brat/ twat/selfish little git. That being said, I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next book
