It is not power or strength that makes a great dragon, but the heart it chooses to bond with.
The Weyr of the Evenstar was meant to be a place of honor—a home for those chosen to ride dragons. For Kanastya, it’s a battlefield.
Bullied for her differences and weakened by an illness, every day is a fight for survival. Yet among the dragons, she finds solace and belonging.
But as threats beyond the weyr grow and dragons prepare for war, Kanastya must discover the true meaning of strength. Not the kind forged in perfect health or flawless skill, but the kind that rises despite everything. For her greatest power might not be the one they train for...but the one that makes her different.

This book was totally different from the other dragon books that I have read. It was very interesting to watch all these people from such diverse backgrounds bind together and fight for what they believe in. I'm looking forward to reading more in this series and will definitely recommend this book to everyone.
This is the second book in the series and the storyline got even more interesting. I can’t wait to read more about the evolution of the dragons. Nita Round has done an amazing job of developing her characters
This is the second book in the Dragon Riders of Vorden. A continuation of the story of a young half elf as she evolves and changed the world and the dragons and people around her 💙 ❤️
I'm a lover of Dragons though I know they are a some say a mythical beast I don't agree I believe they roamed the earth decades after the dinosaurs time actually sometime on or near the fall of the Romans period. Having shared that thought! I have read other works of yours and being captivated by those as I have been by these books as well! Now I can't wait for the closing act in riveting series❗ 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❗
This is only the second book and I already love this series. The situation is getting more dire, yet the people (and dragons) continue to grow and learn. If you like dragons and sapphic leaders, this is for you! There is intrigue, adventure and possible danger in the future, but the people and dragons persevere.
Start with the first in the series to appreciate the details of the plot. Watch kanastya develop into an arch mage who comes into her magic. This series is complex and exciting. The world building is fabulous. The world of.Borden won't let.you go. I loved this one and can't wait for.the next.
Plus for a book categorized with a 13-18 reading age, what was portrayed as a strong supportive friendship was being turning into something I was uncomfortable with and wouldn't want my own teenagers exposed to. The blurb for this book should be corrected to reflect this aspect of the storyline.
When a book wraps you up, sets you down, and feels like a part of you just came home, the chef’s kiss is well deserved. This author just earned themselves a pile of Scoobie snacks. Good book, excellent series, please feed me more!
An amazing dragon book set! This is an incredible second book! I was seeing and feeling all of the emotion and interactions as this story developed. The characters are so well done. I was drawn in during book one and book two was even better.
Loving this series, so many unique fantasy, dragon, character driven scenarios. Heartfelt grief, love, dangerous foes and complicated if not questionable allies. And, darn it! I need to see that the bad guys get their comeuppance.
Ok this is a damn good book ! I am really looking forward to reading the next one when it comes out. So go ahead and take a chance.... I don't think you will be disappointed !!!!
Well read. The author has you immersed deeply, visualizing every detail. The storyline is blended and heartfelt. I was hooked from the start. I absolutely love the series.
Excellent book, great characters and great action. Nita Round's second offering in the series continues to entertain. I'm on to the next in the series right away...
2/5 I was not impressed the pacing of this one. Our main girl ends up being sick for over half of the book for “some odd reason” as if she isn’t “the first dragon mage in hundreds of years.” 🙄🙄
