Was this sitting on my cr for months when I realized that I had read part way into season (volume?) 2? Ya. Do I remember much from this? No.

What I DO remember was that I was kicking my feet screaming crying clenching my toes and wiping tears from my eyes for the many reasons why people cry.

There are lots of C/TW so please be aware of them before going in.

Cain and Gyeong Joon are just. So. 🥹. They are so protective of each other and get jealous so easily but it’s kind of cute???????

And I really wanted them and Jin yeong to be a thruple SOOOOO BADDDLLLYYYY 😖😖😖😖 but the way Jin yeong is being tossed around like a used tissue hurts me a lot.

I couldn’t care much for Aaron’s backstory sorryyyyyy. I wasn’t invested in his tortured past.

But BEN!? 🫠 we love a general dedicated to their lord 🫡

And. The. Spicy. Sceneesssssssss. When joon started to get comfortable with Cain and PREPPED HIMSELF IN FRONT OF HIM??? AND THEY DID IT IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR? IN THE CAR WHEN THEY REUNITED AFTER SO MANY EPSODES APART!!!!! AND THE LOVE CONFESSSSIOON. SCENEE 😭😭😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I still think about that to this day.

Not sure how much longer the second season will be but I don’t know if I can wait patiently for updates.

General Comment: The plot makes me wanna bang my head against the wall, I like the concept but the plot's hella confusing. I don't know if it's because of mistranslation or it's intended to be like that. Though I enjoyed the action scenes and the smut is really well done. Dear Door's kind of entertaining and it's very dark which I really like but it would have been better if the plot and storyline is not rocky and a mess.

I put off reading this for so long, thinking it would be mid. Funny how it always turns out like that, the novels or manhwa I avoid usually end up becoming some of my favorites.

The art style grows on you with every chapter. It’s so unique for a BL, almost like the artist primarily worked on superhero comics and decided to create a BL action-drama instead. The result? An absolute banger of a story.

And the uncensored version has blew my mind more than a few times, if you know what I mean. *wink* The story is so well-written—funny, sexy, engaging, and packed with action. Its also tragic and heartbreaking and just takes you on rollercoaster of emotions. I totally get why this has so many subs on Tapas with high ratings too. ❤️❤️ Highly recommend!

GoodGAWWWWWWWDDDDDD!

A demon who enters the human realm and back to hell through the body of a human, but the only way to do that is by the person 💦 from being pleasured by the demon… I’m into it. Especially when said demon is as HAWT as Cain. This is shock full of sexy men and demons, so I can see the story going on for a while.

So I’m happy to be here for it. Thank yewwwwwwwww!!!

Did I like the setup? Hm, yes, color me intrigued: a police officer still mourning the death of his wife, his colleague and long-time friend secretly crushing on him, a demon king summoned by a death sect, scheming underlings waiting for his downfall and then something went wrong during the summoning because the officer survives and the demon king is wounded and only a portal in the officer's body can close that wound. Ok, the last part was a bit of a turn-down for being too shallow and predictable. That intertwined with a boastful, juvenile humor and the inconvenience that I had to stop now and then because I got confused and had to speculate what just happened made me reconsider if I really liked the setup enough to go on with that odd story.

I read in one of the reviews that this book is the weakest of the series and it gets much better later but I suppose that's too late for me.

Ah, yes. I remember now part of why I didn’t push through with this series in digital format…it’s confusing as hell 😂

There’s both too little and too much information at once. Like, there’s too much information about stuff that doesn’t really matter, and too little information about what would actually make the story clearer 😅 Oh well! I’m gonna keep reading tho! I’m gonna give this at least one more volume before I decide if I’m giving up or enjoy it enough to continue.

Beyond that, I don’t have much to say 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s all pretty chaotic, but I like looking at the artwork ✨

P.S. I did laugh at seeing Cain’s censored dick again 😂 He’s a silly guy. What a treat!

Typisch für koreanische Mangas :D erstmal ein großes dubious content warning, weil das hier alles definitiv nicht ganz so freiwillig ist. Dämon x Mensch ist ja oft mit sowas verbunden, aber hier gefällt es mir, da der Polizist sich ziemlich gut verteidigen kann und ihm mehrfach in die Fresse schlägt. Sowieso kann er sich als Polizist gut verteidigen und gut kämpfen.

Generell kommt hier auch viel Blut und Gewalt vor, ziemlich coole und ziemlich fragwürdige Dämonen und ziemlich viel Action und ich hoffe auch, dass da noch einiges an Story kommt - es wird nämlich viel Intrige zwischen verschiedenen Dämonen angeteasert, indem unser Polizist reingeraten ist.

Oh und Drama zwischen ihm und seinem Kindheitsfreund, der auch Polizist ist, wird es definitv auch geben. Ich freu mich schon drauf :D

to be fair, the art style was really up my alley. it had that shounen vibe that so many webtoons i like do but then the plot?? the relationships?? nah. all I'm saying is no wonder y'all kept getting ur asses beat since all you did was fuck while your enemy was plotting 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Hay ciertas personas a quienes los demonios pueden utilizar como "puertas" para entrar y salir del infierno. Cain es un rey del infierno en guerra con Lucifer. Kyungyoong, la "puerta" de Cain, es policía.
Al principio la historia parece bastante seria y de romántica tiene bien poco, capítulo a capítulo va cambiando con capítulos de politiqueo, batalla, romance, comedia y... este cómic se puede encontrar en varias versiones: está la "para todos los públicos" y la "sin censura"... La "sin censura" es... uff... qué calores!

Dear Door. is a mature fantasy comic series following the life of a cop fighting his depression after the death of his fiancée. He becomes tangled up in a demonic cult and makes a questionable deal with Lord Cain, a cheeky, charismatic demon king working on earth to stop a war in hell. As the story goes on we meet more humans, demons and angels who are all caught up in an ancient feud between good and evil. The relationship between the main characters grows from unlikely, wary partners to companions to an impressively warm romance, with most of the side characters finding love/comfort in their own relationships. The series has many mature themes including dubious consent, sexual assault, violence etc, but the official English website has trigger warnings before each chapter to warn of what is to come so it is easy to avoid sensitive content. I really loved the art, all the characters are drawn either very handsome, or very buff, or both, it's great. I look forward to more from the creators.

This story has quickly become a guilty pleasure. It's original and has me saying "what the heck" and "that's so adorable" and "are you kidding me" and "holy f" and sometimes a combination of all the feelings. This was the first yaoi story I started and I quickly fell in love with Kyungjoon and Cain. I was a little hesitant at first because everything could have gone too far/over the top at any moment, but the author kept it tasteful - which I deeply appreciate.

Bin nicht hundertprozentig sicher, was ich denke. Der Anfang war nicht schlecht, hat mich aber nicht so gefesselt. Cain und Sid sind mir (noch) egal, aber Polizist Kyungjoon und sein Schulfreund Jinyoung sind ganz interessant. Die Kämpfe sind mir bisher unwichtig. Zum Ende hin war ich mehr in der Story drin und ich werde noch den zweiten Teil lesen, bevor ich mich entscheide, ob ich in der Serie weitermache.

Okay, I'm not totally clear on what "book" I'm on because I read this story on Manta and all I know is what season I'm on. I will say this: this is my favorite story I've read on the app. It isn't done yet but here's what I think this one covers.
A cop/detective and the rest of his precinct are investigating a cult that has popped up and is resulting in horrific murders and suicides. Their only lead is a tattoo all the suicide victims seem to have.
Kyunjoon runs into a cult member and gives chase, winding up being held in a warehouse covered in symbols and set on fire. This is how he meets the Demon, Lord Cain.
From there, Kyunjoon's life is irrevocably tied to Cain's life and is brought smack into the middle of a faction war between Cain and Satan. This war is made more intense by the backstabbing done by one Cain trusts most.
Then the angels get involved. Angels that are invested in the outcome of the war taking place in Hell. Angels that are also separated by interests, creating a multifaceted battle between Heaven and He'll, between Heaven and Heaven, and between Hell and Hell. With humans stuck in the middle being used and sacrificed by both sides.
Kyunjoon just wants Cain. Cain just wants Kyunjoon. Everyone else seems to have an interest in their relationship, be it for better or for worse.

Yeah... The story is a bit complicated. I love it! It does contain dark themes, from blood and possession to sexual assault, rape, and relatively graphic smut. I was hesitant in the beginning to even read this one. Now, I look forward to every Tuesday when I get my update. The story isn't even finished and I've reread it four times to be sure I haven't missed anything or to notice the details I didn't pay attention to but are a huge deal later on. If this was a book, I'd buy it in an instant because it is a story I'm insanely into and I want it to exist for me forever.

Do I recommend this? If you're into BL/mxm and can handle dark themes, I absolutely recommend it. It's probably a niche genre story, but I'm here for it.

Creo que lo disfrute más que nada por lo mucho que me hacía reir y por las escenas de accion, esto serian algunos de sus puntos positivos además de los personajes que me encantaron en la gran mayoria y el estilo de dibujo es muy bueno.

Entre sus puntos positivos esa una lectura rapida y el estilo de dibujo ayuda en esto, sus personajes son interesantes y divertidos me hubiera gustado saber más de ellos pero lo que me mostraron de algunos me gusto y me dejo en gran parte satisfecho sin hacerme pensar que son personajes planos y vacios, algo que pienso en que el estilo de dibujo ayudo mucho en toda la obra porque si esto hubiera sido solo palabras no creo que me hubiera gustado tanto.

En sus puntos negativos seria que a veces la obra es algo confusa en algunas partes y esto puede hacer que te pierdas, esto más que nada es una opinion muy personal pero siento que no supe mucho de los protagonistas principales como sus gustos entre otras cosas o sobre el pasado de ellos (especificamente del protagonista) a diferencia de los personajes secundarios que tuvieron arcos de personajes mucho más marcados y otro punto negativo seria la construccion de mundo ya que esta puede llegar a decaerse un poco o esta se ve decaida por la falta de informacion.

[Review covers main story to completion - 130 chapters on Tapas]. This was an absolutely wild ride, and unfortunately not my cup of tea. So much of the story happens in the gutters that I was regularly confused about what was going on, and why. There's a lot of coercive/NC encounters that felt icky instead of sexy or romantic (as much as that can ever be the case), and the actual relationships between people who were getting it on left, right and centre rarely felt emotionally realistic. People were just suddenly in love and banging like rabbits for no real reason. There's smut, then there's this series. If there's a spectrum between "all smut and no plot" and "all plot and no smut", this is as far to the smut side as you can get and still be considered to have any plot at all.

All that being said, characterisation was a strength. I really enjoyed the emotional depth within individual characters, rather than in their relationships with one another. Sid was a stand-out, as was Jinyoung, but pretty much all of the supporting characters were great and I always enjoyed their subplots.

Overall, if you're a huge fan of demons and angels, and like a chaotic art style and story, this might suit you, even though it didn't suit me.

To be honest I’m not sure why this has such a high rating. I use Goodreads as my barrier between me and bad BL so I am just disappointed that failed this time lmao.

The plot and editing made no sense. It jumped all over the place with no warning or explanation. Suddenly the demon was living with the MC at some point and I was like uh? When did that happen? How long has this been going on? I felt insane while I was reading it, like did I miss a few chapters or something?? I couldn’t keep track of it.

That along with the really icky nonconsent happening between both relationships just really put me off. I am disappointed and I will not be continuing this series and I regret picking this volume up.

EDIT: I see so many people talking about how much sex they’re having and I’m so confused by it, they literally only did it once in the book I got so I’m starting to think that I got the censored version which explains a lot, and explains why I feel like literal chapters of content are missing?

But there were also 2 (only two in 300+ pages of content) totally uncensored scenes, so that confuses me even more. I’m really baffled that my experience reading this seems so different from other people’s. I feel like I read a different book than everyone else here.

Still, the forced nonconsensual encounters deeply put me off from wanting to continue. Still 1 star for me.

This keeps popping up in the monster-lover groups but none of my goodreads buddies had read it, so I took one for the team and picked it up 😉 Demon x human action romance I think would be the technical categorization… BL / MM. The art is gorgeous!

However, this has a *lot* of triggers — especially a TON of sexual assault, dub-con that skirts the non-con line, dub-con of the coercion kind, lots of gore, blood, madness/hallucination, war, murder, and ritual human sacrifice… as well as tropes that could be triggering such as forced orgasm & overstimulation, degradation (not from the main pairing, not consensual either), fisting, sex in monster form, size difference, lots of fluids (crying, spit, cum), and probably others that I missed … And these aren’t listed anywhere that I could find, so I’m intentionally leaving this unmarked as spoilers for others to be able to see with less digging.

The story is engrossing but the triggers are copious, it’s not one and done skippable, it’s basically the entire storyline. So read carefully 💙

Dear Door 1 (Chapters 1-64)

OMG! So far this is the best BL I’ve read so far! The story, characters, plot, artwork, and just everything in general was mind blowing, immersive, and so entertaining.

I absolutely love Kyungjoon! I’ve cried with this amazing and lovely human being! I felt his pain and his loneliness, and I just wanted to jump into the manhwa and hug him! The lore behind the doors is so interesting and I can’t stop staring at Cain. Damn, Cain is so freaking gorgeous!

Also, the smutty scenes are intense but so damn good! When Kyungjoon started to feel more comfortable around Cain and accepting him I just swooned all the time!

Cain, not accepting that he’s in love! I needed to slap some sense into him! I am not okay with poor Jingyoung and what Sid did to him. It was tough to read, and I was just disgusted by it. The many versions of Aaron and Gayle are too adorable! Ben is too gorgeous!

Overall, the story is gripping, the characters are entertaining and enjoyable to go on this journey with them, and the artwork is so fantastic and incredible to visualize.
