Ariana Erazo writes happy, funny stories full of heart, chaos, and characters you’ll want to hug—and maybe argue with. She’s a hopeless romantic with an overly positive outlook, a deep love for coffee, and an affection for all things bright, joyful, and a little messy. Her writing reflects her sunny outlook. She lives in Florida with her husband and three kids, who keep her busy and caffeinated as she shuttles them between practices, games, and endless snack emergencies.
Absolutely phenomenal read! This is definitely a book I will recommend to all my friends. Amazing characters. Head strong, fierce, and determined FMC. A aggravating, get under your skin, sexy, brother's bestfriend MMC, who becomes the roommate. The banter and the tension between these two is just everything. A bit of a slow burn, but dang was it worth it. The level of obsession and yearning from Spencer was chef's kiss. The mouth on him gave even me goosebumps. Overall, it is a great romance read that has you staying up way past your bedtime.
I absolutely loved this book! The enemies to lovers dynamic was perfection, 10/10, no notes. I’m such a sucker for when a guy says he just needs to “get it out of his system.” Like… famous last words, buddy. 😂
Daisy is such a smart, strong FMC who refuses to tolerate Spencer’s BS, and I adored her for it. It all starts with a kiss five years ago at a family wedding. Spencer shows up and convinces Daisy to take a chance on his “kissing menu.” The kiss is earth shattering, and Daisy is on cloud nine until she sees Spencer getting cozy with another girl back on campus.
Fast forward five years: Daisy’s finishing her doctoral program when her brother Dax gets an offer he can’t refuse, which means Spencer is moving in as her roommate. Watching these two clash, banter, and fall for each other was absolutely epic. I loved every single second!
✨ What to Expect ✨ 💋 Enemies to Lovers 👨👧 Brother’s Best Friend 🏠 Forced Proximity / Reluctant Roommates 🔥 Slow Burn 🎓 Campus Drama 💪 Strong, Sassy FMC 😍 Obsessed MMC 📚 Campus Romance
This book is the laugh you didn't know you needed! "Long enough to leave a mark. Short enough to leave me wanting more." How I feel about this book. I couldn't put this down and I definitely wanted more.
The banter between everyone but especially Spencer and Daisy had me cracking up 🤣 I love how they both have they quirks. It makes them relatable which makes their story so much more enjoyable! The tension between them is so thick but the chemistry is undeniable! This was a light hearted hilarious read. "But his dick just stumped me stupid" had me dying 💀💀 this entire book was a RomCom movie in my head and I loved every second of it. The author did a fantastic job with balancing humor, tension, drama, spice. It was witty, heartfelt, and just perfect.
Thank you for my ARC! I'm leaving this review voluntarily.
"Why, just why, do I have to be attracted to the one person I loathe?"
This was a funny rom com that I mostly enjoyed. Tropes include enemies-to-lovers, opposites attract, brother's best friend, and forced proximity. When Dax gets an internship out-of-state, he lets his best friend Spencer stay at his apartment, which he also shares with his twin sister Daisy. MMC Spencer and FMC Daisy have seemingly never gotten along--except for one never-forgotten shared kiss many years ago. Now the two of them are under the same roof, and their chemistry is off the chart!
"We're good at that, aren't we? Pretending the kiss meant nothing. Pretending the way you look at me doesn't undo me."
There were a lot of things I liked about this book. The banter was great, the tension was hot (LOVED the shower scene!), and the slow realization that the two of them mean a lot more to each other than they imagined was extremely well done.
A few small things did take me out of the story. For one, Daisy is 24 and has apparently completed a Psychology PhD program. It's not impossible, but this is extremely rare to have accomplished by that young age. She has defended her dissertation successfully, but everybody refers to her as "Ms." Hall. She doesn't even consider herself to be a doctor until she is accepted into a postdoc fellowship program and has her hooding ceremony, when the last step is usually the dissertation defense. Another thing was that there is casual mention that Daisy has a dog named Penis (?!?), which seems pretty cruel to me. And when Daisy and Spencer have a public argument, it apparently goes viral online with 20k+ views, and I couldn't wrap my head around strangers being interested enough to watch their fight.
My final gripe is that it's only after they have unprotected sex that they discuss birth control, and it is in a flippant conversation. "Eat. You'll need energy if we're going to keep at it... also are you on birth control?" When she says that she is, he replies with "'Good. I usually don't skip the condom, but after last night? I say we just keep rolling with it.' He shrugs like it's nothing. Like we aren't casually deciding whether to keep having sex, without protection." This whole interaction seemed irresponsible and personally made Spencer lose points with me.
Overall, it was a fun read and I would definitely read another book from this author in the future.
Thank you to Ariana Erazo for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you to the author Ariana Erazo for sending me a digital ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The first thing that drew me to the book was the cover and the tropes! My favorite trope is enemies to lovers! I could not get enough of Daisy and Spencer’s banter! This book did not disappoint in the spice department. Ohhh spicy!! I love a good spice in a book!
Daisy is the kind of woman every girl dreams of becoming when they grow up. Independent and self driven. While she strives for what she wants she never puts herself second!
Spencer is born with a golden spoon and gets everything handed to him. I think Daisy does a good job with putting him in his place and not taking his bullshit. Can’t explain their relationship more because it will ruin the book. You’ll just have to read the book to find out more! Seriously read the book! If I didn’t have a job and kids, this book would’ve been read in one shot because I did not want to put it down.
I loved the storyline and everything that went along with it. I am so proud to write this review for Ariana. I cannot wait to read more from this amazingly talented author.
This book will come out on October 31
A huge thanks to Ariana Erazo for giving me the privilege to read the book before the book is official.
Antecdotal thoughts while reading The cover is intriguing "It isn't the kiss it led to - but rather that it didn't help her forget it. Not the next morning...& not in the years that followed." Alcohol decisions aren't usually good ones. Is it referring to a possible one that got away situation? Are they bound to run into each other after all this time or have they seen each other around but have avoided the awkward conversation? Hummmm Read the Author's Note! Mentions of "brewing" and "poisoning", is this a book referencing magic? Oh, I love the idea of a "Kissing Menu" at a reception. How fun, with consent on both sides of course. Is this going to be an enemies-to-lovers situation? "...a cockroach in designer jeans." Haha!! Ava, what kind of trouble are you stirring up? Is the Capstone project Spencer's doing?? "Kisses don't wash away like chalk on a sidewalk. " Dr. Pitt, you aren't going to make that introduction are you? I sense sabotage unless you get the girl. Spencer and Daisy, you became IG famous for all the wrong reasons.
When Dax gets offered an out of state internship from his BFF Spencer’s dad, Spencer convinces Dax to let him take over his rent so he can live with Dax’s twin sister, Daisy. Let’s just say, Daisy is NOT a fan of Spencer.
This book had me smiling and laughing the whole time and I need to start off by saying, the banter was bantering. The enemies to lovers dynamic was done perfectly. Daisy’s sarcastic responses to anything Spencer would say had me laughing so hard. I’m usually not a fan of the third act break up, but getting to see Spencer basically fall on his knees begging for forgiveness was 100% worth it.
“I’d crawl if he told me to. Give him every part of me without hesitation.”
This was such a fun read—one of those books that feels just like watching a romcom.
The Trouble with Champagne follows Daisy and Spencer, who met in college and never stopped pushing each other’s buttons. To make things even more complicated, Spencer happens to be Daisy’s brother’s best friend. Despite how much he annoys her, she can’t seem to escape him—until a kiss at a wedding changes everything. Years later, Spencer is determined to finally make his move… by becoming Daisy’s temporary roommate. Cue the banter, the tension, and a whole lot of chemistry.
This was a fast-paced romance that delivered on the spice—cue my blush—but also gave plenty of laughs and heartfelt moments. My favorite part, though, was Daisy. She’s such a well-written character, and as someone in the mental health field, I really resonated with her motivations, actions, and overall demeanor. Spencer, meanwhile, is that perfect mix of gentleman and bad boy—knowing exactly when each side is needed.
Recommended for readers who love: spicy banter, forced proximity, and the brother’s best friend trope.
✨ Thank you Ariano Erazo for this ARC of The Trouble with Champagne! 🍾
Daisy and Spencer first met at a wedding with a kissing menu 💋 — and yup, that’s where it all started! One kiss at the venue turned into a story that picks up again five years later.
👩⚕️ Daisy — future psychologist, smart, strong, and a little stubborn. 👨🍳 Spencer — chef with a finance background, charming but so frustrating! Their love/hate dynamic had me hooked (and yelling at Spencer more than once 😅).
Daisy’s twin brother Dax lands an internship in North Carolina and asks Spencer to take his place for the summer. Cue the tension and chemistry 👀
Her besties Reign and Natalia were hilarious — I loved their friendship and the way they always had Daisy’s back 💕
And Spencer… oh Spencer. The man needs to figure himself out! He’s messy, complicated, and makes some dumb choices even though he loves Daisy. Their fair argument? 😭 My heart!
After that, Spencer goes home to face his family drama, and Daisy moves to Atlanta for a new job — and gets a cat named Mercer (rhymes with Spencer 🐱).
The ending gave me all the feels. So happy they finally got their forever 💞
Spencer and Daisy kiss at a mutual friend's wedding. It was finally a chance for Spencer to shoot his shot. 5 years later and some bumps and bruises as enemies, he again manipulates a situation to get closer to becoming lovers.
Spencer was the cocky, rich boy. Money gave him the ability to get some of what he wanted, except Daisy's heart, which wasn't for sale. Instead, he decided on close proximity. He's still loveable and redeeming as the story goes along. He is patient with wanting Daisy to turn their relationship to more. I loved how this came together with them, even with an eventual 3rd Act Breakup. Once again, Spencer can't do it small and does a big gesture to make an in. If he can't be with her, he can still make her comfortable. Gift giving what she needs and will enjoy is an artist he excels at.

✦ 𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - This book is about Daisy and Spencer, two people who have a messy past and a kiss that never really left their minds. Years later, fate throws them together again when Spencer becomes Daisy’s summer roommate. What starts as arguments and teasing slowly turns into something passionate, soft, and full of feelings they can’t hide anymore. I loved how funny, romantic, and emotional this story felt. The slow burn between them was delicious every little glance and fight had that spark. Their chemistry was wild but still full of heart. Daisy is smart, strong, and a total boss woman who knows her worth, while Spencer is that annoying yet charming guy who secretly falls harder than he planned. The banter between them made me laugh so much, but there were also emotional parts that hit right in the heart. Both characters had their struggles, and I liked how their story showed growth, love, and forgiveness. By the time I reached the end, I had a big smile and a happy heart because their journey felt so worth it. The writing was easy, engaging, and full of warmth. The author did such a great job mixing humor, spice, and emotion. It’s one of those romances that gives you butterflies and makes you believe in second chances. Thank you so much author for the free ARC! 💕
I absolutely loved this book! The push-and-pull dynamic between Spencer and Daisy had me hooked from the very first page. Their chemistry practically jumped off the page, and the steamy romance scenes were the perfect mix of tension and heat. I actually laughed out loud a few times—Spencer’s charm and the banter between these two made it such a fun, fast-paced read. This story had the perfect balance of humor, heart, and spice. I devoured it in one sitting and will definitely be looking for more books by this author!
I’m such a sucker for an enemies to lovers! The book was well written! It didn’t feel rushed and I loved Daisy so much! The back and forth had me flipping so fast to the next page! I loved the plot and dynamic the yearning and the build up! It was such an amazing read and I definitely recommend picking this up! -Kerin Ray
I couldn’t put this book down! The Trouble With Champagne had everything I enjoy in a book- brother’s best friend, spice, banter, and HEA. Spencer was a romantic on the inside, but on the outside? He hid behind a smart mouth. Daisy was tough and never backed down when Spencer messed with her, but under her armor- she had a soft spot for him.
The only thing I disliked was that the book ended. I would have liked to see more into their future, and see Spencer prove to his dad he was worth so much more.
Thank you Ariana for giving me a chance to read this early, it was such a fun experience. This in no way swayed my thoughts of the book.
This book is seriously one of the funnest, exiting books I’ve read in a long time. The banter between the main characters had me laughing and kicking my feet the entire time. It’s warm, light hearted, fun, and exciting.
If I am being honest it was like watching a tv show come to life and literally this would be one of those that I would play constantly as a comfort show.
My favorite parts of this book was the slow burn because on every page you could feel the chemistry, the palpable longing, tension, and need from each other. One thing about me is that when I read romance if I have to look away or I feel a bit shy that to me means that the author did what she needed to do and touched me deep, because GIRL I got all giddie and shy.
Seriously read this give it a chance it will not disappoint. And support the author, trust me — I bought the book to add to my collection (don’t tell my mom).
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½ From “I can’t stand you” to “I can’t stop thinking about you” — in the most fun, messy, swoony way possible.
This one had everything I look for in an enemies-to-lovers romance, and then some. Daisy and Spencer’s story kicks off five years ago with a kiss at a wedding (blame the champagne and a kissing-menu game), but also with all the awkwardness and regret that a fleeting moment can leave behind.
Fast forward: Spencer moves in as Daisy’s summer roommate, and let me tell you — forced proximity + unresolved tension = a delicious kind of chaos.
Final verdict
If you’re in the mood for a feel-good, witty, steamy romance with that classic enemies-to-lovers vibe — yes, pick this up. Spencer and Daisy’s journey made me laugh, made me sigh, and made me root for their “finally getting together” moment with all my heart.
If you’re looking for an absolutely adorable romantic comedy with tons of chemistry…The Trouble with Champagne is the perfect book for you! I was hooked from the very first page and genuinely did not want to put this book down! Spencer and Daisy’s story is super adorable. There’s the perfect balance of romance and humor, making it an incredible romcom!! I loved the pacing of their relationship and how they were able to express their feelings for one another. I also LOVE the side characters, which really elevated the story! I’m excited to read more of Ariana’s books! In the mean time, check this book out! You won’t regret it!
This book was a cute, quick story with a bit of spice. The FMC definitely had her neuroses and the MMC loved pushing her buttons, but in the best way. There was a good lady tribe to back the FMC up, which is needed when she’s in complete denial about her attraction to the MMC. The first book I’ve ready by this author but I’ll definitely pick up another.
I don’t know what I was expecting with this book, but it wasn’t this…. In the best way! I immediately connected with Daisy: A workaholic, perfectionist, people pleaser. Anybody else relate? 🙋♀️ But I also love that she’s not afraid to tell you how she feels, and is quick to make a comeback (also relatable 😂). I’m not going to lie, I didn’t like Spencer at first. I thought he was going to be portrayed as this rich, annoying, immature guy (which he is btw) but there’s so much more to his character that you learn along the way. The banter between the two is also hilarious. I’m not usually a “college romance” reader, however, these characters are older, as Daisy is finishing up her doctorate, so it’s not a young college romance. If you love a good “he fell first”, black cat/golden retriever, romance with hilarious banter and swoon worthy characters, this one is for you!
Such a cute and fast paced romance. Who doesn’t love a good “enemies” to lovers story. The way Daisy and Spencer masked their feelings for each other from not only each other, but themselves made reading about the way they interact so fun. Very easy story to get into and the fire between the main characters kept me on my toes. I truly didn’t know if they were going to hate each other or not from one chapter to the next! Thank you so much to Ariana Erazo for the ARC copy!
First time author for me and I was immediately drawn into the story!
Spencer falls hard for Daisy. One champagne kiss should have changed everything, but a misunderstanding creates a roller coaster of emotions between the two main characters.
This book has a dual POV where the enemies become roommates. The forced proximity and banter between these two character leads to a few spicy benefits. The verbal sparring between these two characters is so good! I enjoyed the personal stories of each character.
This book was a lot of fun to read and I really liked the characters! The grumpy-sunshine trope really worked well here and I think overall I would definitely recommend this book!
If you’re looking for a next romance read this one is a great one!
I love a good enemies to lovers story and this one did not disappoint! The very talented Ariana Erazo beautifully captured an incredible love story between Spencer and Daisy who have spent years hating each other. It took being forced to become roommates for them to realize that underneath all that hate was the love of a lifetime. This book has so much angst and pent up chemistry, I couldn't put it down! I fell in love with the characters from the very first page and devoured the book. If you like a brother's best friend, forced proximity, man obsessed romance with spice, this is the book for you!
This was so freaking cute!!! Spencer and Daisy’s story was the best little push and pull, enemies to lovers I’ve ever read. I went through the full range of emotions reading this. It was such a breath of fresh air! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
This was such a good read! The back and forth between Spencer and Daisy was so palpable and the way he ended up wanting to change and better himself to be deserving of her .... so good! I also loved the other plotlines - Daisy's impending career debut and Spencer's family drama. Just all around a solid plot and a satisfying ending!
I am such a sucker for an enemies to lovers trope, it’s one of my favorites. I loved the FMC and how she just was not having any of the MMC shenanigans. This book was fun, spicy, entertaining, and funny. It was a quick read for me and it was just an entertaining and truly enjoyable read.
One kiss. That’s all it took to haunt Daisy and Spencer—until they end up roommates for the summer. The tension, the banter, the spice… it’s all there. Ariana Erazo makes you feel in the story with how vivid and real every moment is. I couldn’t put it down! If you love forced proximity, second chances, and sizzling chemistry, The Trouble with Champagne is one you’ll want on your TBR.
This was such a good book! It was like a romantic prank war through most of the book with some tension and drama sprinkled through for balance. Daisy and Spencer's banter and chemistry was amazing its was hilarious and the tension and spice when they finally get together was just chef's kiss!
