I love my life. I’ve built the flower shop of my dreams and have the best friends a girl could ask for. But no matter how hard I try to ignore it, something is missing. Someone is missing. When danger forces me on the run, the man who’s been haunting my thoughts steps in. The reasons I’ve kept my distance start to crumble, and the more time we spend together, the harder it becomes to fight the way my heart, body, and soul ache for him.
Bastiaan
Love dealt me a cruel hand years ago—so cruel I never looked at another woman again. My heart has only just begun to heal, and I can’t risk breaking it all over again. Until her. When Amber’s life is threatened, I don’t hesitate to protect her—even if it means leaving the country and taking her home with me. Her safety isn’t negotiable. But the closer we get, the harder it is to keep my distance, and the guilt I carry might be the one thing that destroys us both. With Bastiaan taking Amber to his home country to keep her safe, will the walls they’ve built still hold—or will the irresistible pull between them shatter every barrier before it’s too late?

Yvette Mitchell is a new author whose stories blend romance, suspense, and plenty of heart. Living with a spinal disease and chronic pain, she writes with determination and pride, proving that strength takes many forms. She lives in the south coast of England with her husband and two tiny but opinionated dogs who believe they’re the real bosses of the house. When she’s not reading or dreaming up her next swoon-worthy scene, she’s connecting with readers of her newly published debut novel, powered by tea, Diet Coke, and determination.
ARC read; I do love me a single dad trope anyway but the forced proximity made it better, getting the characters to face their fears, realising how much they like each other & how scary that feels.. 🤌 The plot was good, I wasn’t expecting all the suspense & twists of the MC life so it threw me to start with but then when they were in one of the cabins.. I actually felt stressed 😂 I like when a book actually makes me feel things! This is great for a debut novel & I’ll definitely be reading the second 🥰

This starts off as a sweet Hallmark-like romance. Flower shop owner in a small town has a crush on the guy who delivers the flowers. He’s equally infatuated with her. And then during one of their adorable flirty weekly visits, her whole world flips upside down and this book turns into something else entirely! Bastiaan doesn’t hesitate to take Amber on the run to protect her. Her dad does bad things with bad people, and now her life is being threatened by those bad people. I’ve never been on this side of a MC romance before and I loved it! There’s heart pouring out of every page. Bastiaan is a broken man, by his own definition. But he’s fiercely protective, kind, gentle in all the best ways, and overly considerate. So considerate, he nearly loses Amber. Who is equally unprepared to figure out love and life on the run. (To be fair, who IS prepared for that?!) But he’s a Dutch single dad who lives in a freaking windmill and delivers flowers, how can you NOT get attached?! This is a magical debut novel! It feels like a labor of love. I was not ready for how cozy it would feel! Especially considering the level of stress eating this book induced! My heart ached for them from beginning to end.

This was a debut novel?! Yvette, you absolutely smashed it out of the park!
This is a single dad, contemporary romance. The content, both on and off page, may NOT be suitable for everyone. It covers topics that may be triggering to some. You MUST proceed with caution; your mental health matters.
This was an absolute pleasure to read. It kept me up until 4.30am as I HAD to finish it, I just couldn’t put it down. I was HOOKED. The storyline was so captivating, I had to know what happened next. This book took over my life, who needs sleep anyways?
This was the perfect balance of emotion, spice and character growth. I could feel the emotions seeping out of the pages, it was incredible. The longing for one another, the grief, the heartbreak, it was so emotionally immersive. Yvette painted the most beautifully emotional picture and I could stare at it ALL day long.
The pacing was spot on; it was fast enough to keep me entertained and not so rushed so the emotional depth was still present.
The chemistry between Amber and Bas was off the charts; from the sexual tension to the emotional agony to the banter. It was so natural and flowed so well. It never felt like too much or forced, it was the ideal dynamic.
Amber was fierce yet vulnerable and Bas had his walls up but was protective and possessive, even whilst battling his demons behind those walls. Both immediately loveable and relatable and had you rooting for them from the very beginning.
The spice was definitely spicing but on a more emotional level, it wasn’t just sex. It was about healing and personal growth and overcoming their fears. The connection between these two was something else, you could have removed the spice and the connection would still be there. Yvette wrote these characters so damn well.
I can honestly say, I had no idea where this read was going; but I was there for the ride. It was thrilling, kept me engaged throughout and was beautifully written. It was refreshing and I just loved every damn second.

If you’re looking for a read that takes you on a ride, this is the book for you.
Okay… I loved this book!! From the very first chapter, I was completely hooked — the storyline pulled me in and I genuinely didn’t want to put it down. The pacing and the emotional pull of the characters had me flipping pages long past when I should’ve gone to sleep and feeling utterly frustrated when I couldn’t continue, because of life! You know that feeling when a book just completely takes over your brain? Yeah, that was me with this one.
The author did such an incredible job of balancing tension, emotion, and character growth. I felt everything the main characters went through — the frustration, the longing, the heartbreak, the hope. Their chemistry was absolutely undeniable, and the banter and emotional beats between them felt so natural. It never felt forced or overdone; it just flowed.
If I had to mention one small thing — and this is totally a me thing, not a book thing — I’m personally not big on spice or explicit scenes. They just make me a little uncomfortable, so I skimmed those parts. That said, the writing was so strong that even without reading them fully, I could still feel the tension and connection between the Amber and Bas. The author managed to convey their love and attraction beautifully, even beyond the physical moments, which is a real testament to their storytelling skill.
The pacing was spot on — fast enough to keep me hooked, but not so rushed that the emotional moments didn’t land. The side characters added so much fun, and I honestly wouldn’t mind a spin-off about a few of them! The world felt vivid and alive, and I could easily picture myself there.
Overall, this was such an engaging, emotional, and wonderfully written story that I’ll absolutely be recommending to friends. It’s the kind of book that stays with you after you finish, and I’m already looking forward to whatever this author writes next!
I was super excited to support Yvette and arc read her debut novel, You've got the love!
It's not your typical romance, and it's not quite a dark romance either, but it does have that suspenseful edge.
Amber and Bas are on the run. Hiding from The Reapers, a rival MC to her dad's club, and they are looking for revenge. Unfortunately that puts Amber in the firing line, so she has to shut shop and evade the club, and Bas offers to keep her safe.
This has Amber and Bas in close proximity, having to confront their feelings for each other. Amber is fighting to stay alive, but Bas is not only trying to keep Amber safe, he is fighting an internal battle about accepting his feelings for Amber, because he feels like he is betraying his late wife's memory.
Yvette moulds themes of romance, thriller and suspense throughout the pages of the book, delicately touching on Bastiaan's inner struggles with guilt and loss, but also the tension between him and Amber and the uncertainty of their situation.
I loved the characters and the story. Amber knows what she wants and she is tough. Bas was lost, but his arc shows his struggles, but also that he is determined to prove himself.
There is a little bit of repetitiveness but it didn't take away from the enjoyment of the book. There are some unanswered questions but I have been assured that they will be answered in the upcoming books. I just have to be patient 😅
Thank you Yvette for having me on your arc team, I can't wait for book two!
I really enjoy this book, I knew I would love it and only read it at night time while house was quiet. Kinda nice having a routine, kept me coming back but the book ended......please can I have more......😂
I found this book to have such great pace, and being a slow burn while in a forced proximity, single dad and family of a mafia family. Soooo many tropes and I ate it all up and deffiantly can't wait for more by this author.
Most of the time I thought it was romantic, it's the little things that win our hearts.
Their hearts knew it before they did, but coming from grief and trauma to heartbreak to a place full of love and self healing and sooo much tension.
I love Bas and Amber's story right from the start of being florist shop and florist delivery driver to then protecting her at all costs. Awww and Abel is so cute. Also must of been so hard to not call the ppl you love.
It was so beautifully written that it was a emotional roller coaster for me, the spice was a added bonus that didn't take away from the main story at all. The growth in both the main characters is amazing. Kind of inspirational really.
I had the absolute pleasure of being an arc reader for this book. This book has my whole heart. This is a cosy, mutual pining book. Amber owns a florist shop and Bastiaan is a widowed single dad. I loved how authentic the book felt, and I really have a soft spot for both characters.
This book gave me all the cosy, feel-good vibes I was hoping for. From the very first chapter, I was hooked by the charm of the setting and the relatable, well-drawn characters. Yvettes writing feels warm and easy to sink into.
I loved how the story felt so natural. The characters felt real, with flaws and quirks that made them all the more lovable. It’s the kind of book that wraps you up like a blanket and leaves you smiling long after you finish.
If you’re looking for a comforting, character-driven read with genuine heart, Youve Got the Love is a must-read. I’ll definitely be recommending this one to my friends! 💕
I can’t believe how freaking good this book is! From the first page, Yvette Mitchell had me hooked. The chemistry between Bastiaan and Amber is 10/10. It was sizzling, emotional, and perfectly written. I loved how Bas was willing to protect her when danger suddenly entered Amber’s life definitely made my heart absolutely swoon.
Those spicy scenes? Perfect. Just the right balance of heat and heart. And that ending was everything I was hoping for, and it was beautifully written
For this to be Yvette’s debut novel? Girl, you absolutely killed it. This story has everything! The tension, love, loss, friendship, and a journey about learning how to live again. A must read romance that I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
Yvette, what can I say? I absolutely loved this. There's certain writing styles that a really connect with, like Beth O'Leary, Ali Hazelwood etc where I forget I'm actually reading as in just so immersed in the story and this book was 100% like this. I loved the characters and the action too, I felt what they felt and I got frustrated with Bas as much as Amber did too. I like that she didn't doubt herself too, that she was fighting for them and with everything going on, she was still able to go for what she wanted. I'm not the fastest reader due to my very hectic life but I read a bit every night as I wanted to be in their world.
fantastic debut and I will look forward to your next work too!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ARC Review : “You’ve Got the Love” by Yvette Mitchell is such a heartfelt and uplifting read. I really enjoyed how the story focuses on love, healing, and finding strength through life’s ups and downs. The characters feel real and easy to connect with — you can’t help but root for them as they work through their struggles.
Mitchell’s writing has a really warm, honest tone that pulls you in. There were a few parts that in the middle where the pace slows, but overall the story kept me engaged and left me feeling the feels!!
If you’re looking for a story that’s emotional, hopeful, and full of heart, this one’s definitely worth picking up 💚💙💜❤️
This is an Outstanding read! For a debut my expectations were exceeded!

You will need to read this book. There are plenty of twists and turns, tension and danger. Then the emotional side is tangible, you feel like you are on edge, and the books stays with you after you put it down. I was frustrated and heartbroken right along with the characters. I was hooked from the first page. Bastian and Amber are still with me, I will be reading this book again.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
Wow, I loved this book! Forced proximity, single dad trope , suspense, pining for each other for a long time- all put into one story. I was hooked from the first chapter and managed to read from 30% to the end in one sitting. The author did such a great job of creating a balanced book including heartbreak, happy ending, spice, and tension. I loved this book, it very much gives the impression of small town romance however has a lot more of a punch to it. I wasn’t expecting the fast paced storyline which was such a pleasant surprise. I fell in love with Bas and Amber’s story and it was a great read.

What a great debut! Congratulations Yvette! I had no idea where this story was going, but I was so intrigued by Amber and Bas. I loved their relationship and boy she made him grovel and wait for it! Abel was the cutest too! What a great read!
This was a wonderful debut novel! I loved the characters, the forced proximity, and the single dad trope. Amber and Bas were made for each other and the suspense just added to the story. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
3.5 stars for Author Yvette Mitchell's debut novel! You've Got The Love is a mix of romance and suspense. Amber and Bastiaan have this intense pining for each other but for their own reasoning have stayed away, afraid to take any step that may bring them together. When danger lurks closer, these two are thrown together and have to face their connection and longing for one other. Bastiaan is so conflicted but would burn the world down if needed to keep Amber safe. And Amber just wants to be chosen as she never has been before. Their journey is full of danger and little moments of stolen time together. And the stolen moments will have love blooming in your heart. 💐❤️
I absolutely devoured this book in one day it was so good. Everything was written beautifully and each characters development was lovely to read. Can't wait to read more of this series.
Devoured this book in a day. This book was such a pleasant surprise… it definitely went in a way I was NOT expecting and it was done so beautifully well! Absolutely loved it ! Their love story bloomed and blossomed from a place of love and grief and longing, and overcoming and it was written so epically sweet and amazing.
Bas and Amber’s story is absolutely amazing and so beautifully written. the yearning, the heartbreak, the healing and the LOVE in this book kept me in awe! Yvette, i am so proud of you and am extremely honored to have been able to read your debut 💕 i can’t wait to read whats next! this is a 5 ⭐️ for me
You’ve Got the Love opens with the kind of warm, small-town sweetness that feels like a cozy movie come to life. Amber runs a flower shop, Bastiaan delivers the flowers, and their weekly interactions are filled with shy smiles, quiet crushes, and the softest tension. I settled in expecting pure fluff… and then the story took a turn I never saw coming.
One moment it’s sunshine and blooms, and the next Amber’s world is thrown into chaos. Her father’s dark connections catch up to her, and Bastiaan doesn’t hesitate—he pulls her close, puts her safety first, and takes her on the run. I loved seeing this unexpected twist into an MC-adjacent romance, full of adrenaline, vulnerability, and heart.
Bastiaan is an unforgettable hero: a Dutch single dad who lives in a windmill, delivers flowers, and carries more hurt than he lets the world see. He’s protective, gentle, thoughtful to a fault, and convinced he’s not worthy of the kind of love Amber offers. Amber, meanwhile, is trying to survive, find herself, and navigate feelings she never expected to confront while literally fleeing danger. Their connection is messy, tender, and incredibly human.
For a debut, this story feels special. It’s warm and comforting even when the stakes rise, and the emotional depth genuinely surprised me. I cared for these characters instantly, and my heart was fully invested from beginning to end.
A heartfelt, gripping debut with small-town charm, slow-burn chemistry, danger, and a romance that feels like finding home in the most unexpected place.
Content warnings: danger on the run, life-threatening situations, loss of a spouse during childbirth.

I was lucky enough to have the honour of being an arc reader for Yvette and her debut novel You’ve Got The Love. Wow. Wow. Wow. I was absolutely so totally hooked from beginning to end. This book had everything. The longing that Amber & Bastiaan had for each other from the get go had me hook, line & sinker and I could not put this book down. I adore a single dad trope anyway but Bas’ story was so heartbreakingly beautiful & tragic at the same time and the love he has for Abel is second to none. It was so refreshing reading grief from the male perspective and Yvette wrote it with such a delicate way about it. I haven’t read a huge amount of books with the MC storyline and let me tell you I was stressed beyond belief! Being able to follow Amber & Bas through the highs and the lows, the dangerous & the tender moments was truly so special but add in the forced proximity & spice and I could not stop reading. Yvette writes in a way that makes you feel like you’re right there with the characters, when they’re stressed, scared, vulnerable or facing their fears you feel like you are too. The settings from Hampstead Island all the way to Denmark & Norway were so real in my head and that’s a testament to Yvette’s writing. What an incredible debut!! I absolutely can not wait for the next book in the series to be released to see what else is in store. You should be very proud of yourself Yvette & thank you once again for having me on your arc team.

I’ve absolutely adored reading the debut novel from the lovely Yvette. From the first page to the last I was hooked and just couldn’t put it down. It’s beautifully written and fast paced.
Amber and Bas are just perfection, their chemistry sizzles on the pages. I loved both of our main characters and the relationship they forged while on the run.
Amber is so sweet but terrified of getting her heart broken and she’s stronger than she believes herself to be. I loved how independent and fiesty she is. Bas is an absolute sweetheart. He’s strong, protective and has the most heartbreaking past. His son Abel is the most adorable little person. I loved how he was there for Amber and refused to let her go through things alone.
I loved the suspense aspect of the story, Yvette’s writing had my heart in throat and turning the pages quickly to find out what’s happened. Another thing I loved was Ambers friends/staff, everyone needs friends like Jess and Andrea.
Overall a stunning heartfelt and emotional debut read that will stay with you long after you’ve finished reading. I highly recommend you add to your tbr and read it. I cannot wait for the next in the series.
