she was a author and someone she dated is stalking her over 5 yrs
she keeps moving and he keeps finding her
the guy she went to college with came to her book signing and she got mugged on the way home. he went with her to the hospital and moved her in with him to protect her
but the stalker found out and broke into both their houses
this time the police believed her, the stalker kidnapped her but the police rescued her. they fell in love

TW: Violence against FMC
Poppy and Nick knew each other in college. To Nick, she was the one that got away. For Poppy, he’s the one that couldn’t get away fast enough. She’s held unresolved, hostile feelings toward him since, until she runs into him in a book signing and he saves her from an attack afterward.
Some parts were a bit tough to read, but Nick’s resolve to help and protect Poppy made the book what it is. Her attacker gave me the icks. Would recommend, regardless. I enjoyed it!

HOLY SMOKES! I loved Nick and Poppy's story. Poppy is a small town girl who made it big as an author, but she rarely did book signings as she was stalked by a man who had a wealthy family and the police were not taking her seriously and then she was attacked by a masked man who stole her purse. I liked that Nick never gave up on Poppy as they had a misunderstanding when she overheard his comments about her and she fled the town, but this time Nick was not letting her run again.

Loved this second chance romance, Nick gets a second chance to win Poppy when she unexpectedly reappears back in his life. Can he do it right this time.

Really enjoyed this quick read. I love the super protective Nick and his fam and how they just take Poppy under their wing. Familial banter and a really creepy stalker, it has a lot going for it.
