With the world and story already established in book one, Kaiju Chrysalis really hits its stride. I thoroughly enjoyed the pacing in this sequel — it felt more confident, more focused, and far more immersive from the start.
I haven’t read many “world destruction” books (in fact, this may be my first), and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the scale and chaos of it all. The apocalyptic elements were engaging without feeling overwhelming, and the story kept me invested throughout.
By the end, I genuinely wished there was a third book waiting — which says a lot. A very enjoyable sequel that builds nicely on the foundation laid in Kaiju Cataclysm.
