Claimed by the Graveyard Mountain Man
She snuck into the cemetery after hours. The caretaker fell at first sight...
I was supposed to be passing through. Graveyards always deserve a I take pictures, read some inscriptions (some even have cookie recipes!), and head on my way. But when a storm rolls over the mountain, my car gets hopelessly stuck in the mud.
I'm about to hunker down for the night when the cemetery caretaker, Eric, offers me a place to stay. Talk about handsome... how did this bearded hunk come to live a lonely life among the dead?
I probably should have wised up and accepted his help, but I never stay in one place for long. And Eric's warm smile is far too tempting. That doesn't mean he had to rip me out of my car, throw me over his shoulder, and haul me off to his creepy old house in the woods. Is it bad that I kind of like it?
Eric has a hold on me. He terrifies me... because when I look at him, I don't want to leave this place.
Jessa is running from her past, but Eric will do anything to convince her to plant some roots.
This is a SAFE insta-love OTT age gap standalone romance with no cheating! These mountain men are the heroes you’ve been waiting for, and they’re bringing steamy sweetness in each Curvy Queens for Hunky Heroes quickie novella! Are you ready for a HEA?

Some fences keep people out. Some fences lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.
Jessa’s been running for years, haunted by grief she can’t face and finding comfort in graveyards and the stories carved into stone. When a storm traps her in a mountain cemetery, she collides with Eric, the rugged caretaker who’s chosen solitude over the world. Their first meeting is sharp with mistrust and heat, but neither can ignore the pull that sparks between them.
Eric’s spent decades burying pain under silence and routine. Jessa’s defiance and sorrow mirror his own, drawing him closer even as she tries to keep him at arm’s length. With his loyal dogs Lurch and Igor at his side, he’s built a quiet life, but the storm forces him to open his door to the stubborn stranger who unsettles everything. Together, the lonely drifter and the isolated mountain man are caught in something neither expected.
What begins in suspicion slowly shifts into honesty, confession, and a connection that cuts deeper than either of them imagined. Jessa learns she can’t outrun the past forever, and Eric learns that opening his heart might mean finally healing old wounds. Their bond grows not just in fire and passion, but in the comfort of trust and belonging.
A steamy, intense, age gap, instalove, mountain man, curvy girl, grumpy sunshine, small town romance, exploring love, grief, healing, trust, intimacy, belonging, and renewal. It's about grief and healing, mistrust turned into fierce love, and two broken souls who find a home in one another.

"I'm lighting racing through the sky, stabbing at nothing and everything, boundless energy looking for a point of focus, anything to ground me."~Jessa💢
"Everytime I have her, it feels like my addiction is being deepened, like I'm falling farther into the pit of my love for her."~Eric💢
This was an interesting and different type of story. While it is shorter, it definitely does deal with what each of us has to face: loss and grief. There's 23yr old Jessa, a young woman who's been on the run for 2yrs after the death of her Mom. She handled it by leaving, packing up, and out on the road she went. Sometimes having food, or not, sleeping in her car, till one stormy night she climbed a fence to take pictures of headstones. Why? I think to deal with what she didn't face 2yrs prior. Never expecting to meet the enigmatic and quiet groundskeeper of said cemetery. That's 39yr old Eric. A mountain man who's generational family have given the residents of Pine Whistle, the final resting place of their transitioned loved ones.
I like the spooky vibes. The atmospheric feel. A storm, a cemetery, an older house that was almost castle like further back into the woods. I love the 2 black labs Igor and Lurch.🥰🐕🐕 Eric was actually a recluse and an understanding man. He knew without Jessa saying very much about her past what she was dealing with. He has had his own experiences, not to mention his job. And Eric offered his home to her. She was on guard as she should be. But to me, she seemed hot and cold. Tons of mixed signals. Confusing. Yes. No. I want you. But why? Jessa was a mess. Understandable. Her emotions have been 'shut off' and are scattered. I didn't think she was in the right headspace, ready for Eric, to give more of anything much less a night or two. Does that make sense?
Eric pushed her away, he knew, he also knew what he wanted. But Jessa kept going. I think the intimacy should have been put on pause. No should mean no. It's a shorter book, so I get it. So yes, there's steam.😚😚😚 Eric fell for her. Hard. Jessa wanted comfort and safety first. And to forget about her pain, her loss, her depression. Imo she wasn't where Eric was emotionally but she didn't consider that. Why would she? So for me, Jessa came across like a drowning person needing to be saved. She should have wanted that for herself but she's 23. It took Eric to remind her.
I still liked it. It was written well. I think it was a great idea for a story. But Jessa, I'm not sure how I feel about her. Eric was very likable. Shout out to Lurch🐶 and Igor.🐶 Cutie doggies. Nice book cover. Happy reading. *•>§<•*🖤💙🖤💙

4.5 ⭐s Who knew the dead could continue to teach the living?
Jessa arrived at the cemetery after the gate was closed and locked for the night. She would have climbed over it if it hadn't had vicious spikes attached to the top of it. But a tree with limbs large enough to bear her weight allowed her access. She has the grounds to herself, or so she thinks, to take photos of the gravestones. Some are traditional headstones with only the names plus the birth and death dates. Others have poems, scripture, quotes, and even recipes etched into the stone. Some soar to great heights, while others hug the ground or have attached urns or statues.
She's so busy taking photos that she didn't realize the caretaker has been watching her.
Eric's great-great-grandfather had opened the cemetery a hundred and fifty years ago. He'd been raised in a house nestled in the trees adjacent to the cemetery. His family has always tended to the site. He knows what significant days the families will visit the gravesites of their loved ones. The family legacy of caring for the dead will end with him since he's single.
Jessa's running from someone or something, that he's certain of. He just doesn't know which. He's bound and determined to learn what forced her to hit the road and live in her old beat-up car. He has some ideas to help her. But the decision to stop running has to be made by her.

Jessa is a woman on the run—not from danger, but from grief. She finds peace where most people wouldn’t: in graveyards. In the names and stories left behind. It’s oddly beautiful. She’s been wandering for so long that standing still feels dangerous. That is, until the night a storm traps her in a mountain cemetery and she’s forced into the path of Eric.
Eric. Brooding, gruff, and practically made of the mountain itself. He’s not a talker. He’s the kind of man who buries his pain in silence, tending to gravestones like penance for a past we don’t fully see right away. But when Jessa crashes into his world—so full of sorrow and stubborn fire—he can’t look away.
Their connection isn’t instant in the swoony way—it’s instant in the recognition way. These are two broken souls who see the cracks in each other and can’t help but reach.
With his faithful dogs (Igor and Lurch, who totally stole a chunk of my heart) and her restless spirit, Eric and Jessa are forced to share space, stories, and eventually... the tender kind of trust that grows when you're not sure you're worthy of it.
This story gave me goosebumps in the best way—sad and sexy, soulful and a little spooky. If you’ve ever loved someone and lost them… or wondered if someone could love you with all your broken pieces still showing—this book will land deep in your chest.

Jessa snuck into the cemetery to take pictures. To read the stories of some of those buried there. But she found a lot more than gravestones.
Eric was the groundskeeper, and his family had owned the cemetery property for decades. He had just locked up for the night when he saw the woman climb a tree and hop the fence. Interesting, but not exactly normal behavior. When he saw her pause at an interesting headstone, one he knew well, he offered to show her some others, scaring her in the process. A storm rolled in quickly and Jessa's car got stuck in the mud. Not wanting her to spend the night there, Eric took her to his house just outside the cemetery. She protested, but he refused to take no for an answer.
Jessa had been on her own for a couple of years, traveling to different graveyards, reading the stories on the stones. But Eric could see a sadness in her eyes. One that he had once felt too.
This was a good story, with an unexpected connection between two people who had more in common than they thought. It touched on loss and grief, but also on healing and moving forward. That might be a trigger for some, but it was totally worth it for me.

Love among the tombstones, with a mountain man who refuses to let go!!!
This short, steamy read surprised me in the best way. Jessa’s restless spirit meets its match in Eric, the gruff but devoted cemetery caretaker who falls hard the moment he sees her. What starts as a stormy night in a graveyard quickly turns into a whirlwind of possessive charm, spooky atmosphere, and tender chemistry.
Raven Moon blends the gothic edge of an eerie mountain setting with the over-the-top sweetness of a hero who refuses to let his woman slip away. If you enjoy age-gap insta-love, protective mountain men, and a quirky heroine who deserves her happily-ever-after, this quick novella will leave you smiling long after you’ve turned the last page.

She get caught scaling the cemetery fence by the caretaker. And when she tries to escape in the storm, he throws her over his shoulder and carries her back to his family's historical home. Ever since her mom passed away she has been out running her grief. This handsome mountain man caretaker makes her feel things again and her running days might be over. His family has taken care of the land and the cemetery for generations. He knows the second he sees her that she belongs here with him. He just has to convince her to stop running. This is a quick instalove romance with a pair of unique characters. They are a little quirky which is a nice change up for the genre. There is still a little steam, a little spice and a happily ever after.

While this story was fun from a purely fictional standpoint, anyone who's experienced significant loss can also relate to what the characters and their journey. Eric was a strong, sometimes steady, figure while Jessa was drifting untethered after her loss. Moon did a fabulous job forming the sassy, snarky Jessa into an empathetic character, and also shoeing that the "closed off" grounds keeper had a buried heart of gold. I am glad our of them set some ground rules though. Without them I'm not sure they'd have stood a chance.

Claimed by the Graveyard Mountain Man is part of the Curvy Queens for Hunky Heroes series. It's a short and steamy, forced-proximity, instalove, age-gap, OTT, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Jessa is a 23-year-old nomadic curvy girl. Eric is a 39-year-old hunky mountain man and cemetery caretaker. When Jessa sneaks into the cemetery after hours for some pictures, Eric finds her. He ends up offering to let her stay during a storm instead of sleeping in her car. She reluctantly agrees, but they are both attracted to one another. Things get hot and steamy, but will she stay? These two had great chemistry and the ending was happy after a little bit of angst.

This story stands out from other books I've read. It's in a good way! Jessa goes wherever she wants and rarely stays in one place for long. That's how she meets Eric, who owns a cemetery and scares Jessa when she sneaks in after hours. Both Eric and Jessa are dealing with baggage from their past, but the bond they form helps them grow stronger together. An excellent, steamy short read with a perfect happy ending.

This story had me laughing almost right away.
Jessa climbing over a fence to get into a cemetery at night just for some photograph that somehow made it an important task. And Eric the groundskeeper almost gave her a heart attack when after she read one of the quotes on a tombstone with the recipe etched into the back iof the marker.the tall big mountain man of the cemetery agreed that somehow she could taste it. That isn’t enough to get blood jumping.. loved this book and the backstories of Eric and Jessa.

Claimed by the Graveyard Mountain Man is part of the Curvy Queens for Hunky Heroes Series.
Eric and Jessa have quite an interesting first meet together. They meet in a graveyard, very close to nighttime. They both think the other could be a spirit. From there we get some steamy moments between them.
I thought this was an extremely cute read. Eric is all in from the start, but Jessa has her own issues she has to resolve before she can fully commit. It was a sweet and spicy read.

It was unusually background for this genre, but I can't say that it doesn't fit. It was remarkable and even deep. It just confirms the Author's talent. And I could say - one of my favourite authors of the genre. And I love this series - Curvy Queens for Hunky Heroes.
Intense instalove romance - short and steamy read to finish in one go. And one to remember out of other reads.

Eric and Jess meet in an interesting way when he catches her sneaking into the graveyard he takes care of. He was used to his life of solitude until he met Jessa, and then everything changed. This age gap romance is a quick read with believable and strong characters, and a happily ever after. Claimed by the Graveyard Mountain Man is book seventeen in the Curvy Queens for Hunky Heroes series. I recommend this book, this series, and this author. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Mountain Men are my new favourite book boyfriend. I really enjoyed reading this book and deep down I knew they were meant to find each other to heal their pain together.

Jessa had baggage and was managing as best she could. Eric knew who he was and together they filled the void neither knew they had. Funny, spicy, a little oddly located. A fun one.

This book was a Great Surprise, it was so different and i Love it. I didnt know what was going to happen next. Eric and Jessa are great characters, and i dont want to say anything else because i think it could spoil the story.

Jessa and Eric
So sweet. Instalove, romantic, some sadness, steamy, and happily-ever-after. This was an emotional rollcoaster in such a short story. I loved it.
