To keep up with all things Suzanne Steele you can find her on Facebook and her wordpress blog. Everything there is up to date. She loves her beautiful readers.
Suzanne Steele is an Amazon Bestselling Author and television host for a TV program in the Charlotte NC area. She focuses on volunteer work and is very heavily involved in giving back to her local community. The month of October will be spent focusing on breast cancer awareness.
Suzanne has a penchant for writing about dark characters with twisted behavioral patterns. If you're looking for the typical romance, this is probably not the author for you. Her characters are very alpha in nature and many times they operate under obsession for the object of their affection; rather than love. Though she does believe in happily ever afters, her characters many times have a bumpy ride getting there.
She also writes under the pseudonym Stormy Dawn Weathers for her writings that aren't so darkly laced with a true realism of shock and awe. Suzanne Steele does not believe in holding back when it comes to writing about how dark and depraved her characters are in the core of their primal natures.

Old read

The book is about Talia who is high classed call girl but one who only has like 3 or 4 clients. She doesn't like her job but it gives her the independence she craves after being taken advantage of by a trust family member. Anthony sees Talia and immediately wants her so pursues her. She resists but can't for long since the Governor gets what he wants. She has issues that she tries to hide and with Anthony she finds something that fulfills something she didn't know she needed. He is very relentless and he a scary dude that is into bdsm. He is not one who will suffer fools and is good at being the upstanding Governor for the state while having the darkness in his private life.

I liked that the hero is pressed and polished with that little bit crazy factor. The heroine is good too but knows not to push to far. She knows the deal and it works for them. This deal with more the sadomasochistic and submission type of bdsm. It was a good read with a crazy, powerful alpha male and strong heroine. It is def a darker romance but one that wasn't so dark I couldn't read it. It was one I was surprised by and really enjoyed it.

Dark romance read about a hooker h and H who is the Governor of his state. 3.5 stars!

h is a hooker. She started this lifestyle in college to pay tuition ( after her parents died and her greedy uncle stole all her money) but now at 28 she is a sugar baby to two different men. There are not much ( or any) details given about the OM in her past.
H is in his 40s, a trust fund baby, he is a somewhat Machiavellian and cunning politician, but has never really known love from his family. The only person who is a mom to him is his housekeeper Gretchen.

H is obsessed by h on first sight and somehow corners her into a year long exclusive contract. H is a dominant/sadist, so stuff like breath play, a hint of knife play, rough sex, belting/caning is involved. The h has been used to men with different needs ( she says some men wanted her to top them ) but not this, turns out she is a natural sub/masochist and H/h really have something unique, sexually. H is rough with h:

Outside bed, h is independent and it drives H nuts and he more or less forces h to get engaged /marry him, though by that time h also realises she has fallen for him. I don't think they ever say ILY to each other though it is understood from both their POVs, H calls her "my love"

The smexy stuff takes part in small bits and the romance takes place mostly in bed, it is low angst but their emotional connection could have been written in a bit more depth. The English is simple, easy to read, but also makes me doubt that it is the author's first language Eg: Sentences like these

"“I was well aware that she thought the little trite was nothing but a gold digging, social seeking, opportunistic little bitch.”

Some peeves I had were that I did not enjoy being in a hookers head, how much she hates her job, how long before she ages out, but also how much shes a hustler and enjoys her lifestyle, how she did drugs in past etc - but all that is in the beginning and h doesn't dwell on it. Also the book has 5 POVs: the h,H,some assassin/PI, OW, some pyscho villain. I mostly skimmed the POVs other than H/h.

I enjoyed this book for the Cinderella like fairytale of how a hooker h finds her HEA( H helps her study and get a degree) even though her Prince Charming had shades of gray. I recommend it to readers who enjoy stalkerific/obsessed H's and can also handle mild S/M stuff. Also readers who enjoy the sugar daddy-sugar baby trope.

I liked this story even though the h was a prostitute. She was a good character. The H was very much possessive and protective of her which was great. There were times that he would randomly threaten her which didn't make sense. I thought that was unnecessary. Anyway, it was an enjoyable read and I can't wait to read about Miller.

RE-READ 3/11/2019

Anthony Johnson is the Governor of Kentucky, he attends church every Sunday and his constituents love him. He has a squeaky clean reputation and he’s careful about keeping his sexual proclivities a secret. Talia doesn’t trust easily, eight years ago while she was studying Journalism her parents died in a car accident. They left her money but her uncle swindled her out of it and she was left with nothing and forced to quit school. That’s when she became a very well paid prostitute, selling pieces of her soul off at a time. Anthony couldn’t help but stare at the beautiful woman at the bar, she appeared to be an executive but he knew better. He was intrigued by the hooker who was sitting at a bar, drinking a glass of milk. When he first contacts her she turns him down then he makes her an offer she can’t refuse. A year long contract, she would be at the Governor’s disposal sexually and nothing was off limits. No dating or sex with other people and in return he would pay her $50,000 a month. She’d be crazy to pass that up, right ? They both enter the contract for their own reasons but neither of them expect to fall head over heels for one another.

Well, my 2015 reading challenge isn't starting off that great. All I can say about the Governor is that I didn't like it. The characters weren't ones I could relate to nor did I find them all that interesting. The writing itself was the biggest turn off. It read the way people sound when they're trying TOO hard to be deep and poetic. They use a lot of long sentences with a bunch of words that don't really mean anything together. I couldn't stop rolling my eyes as I read The Governor. It just wasn't for me and I didn't enjoy it at all.

I love the world that Suzanne creates. In my mind it's almost like the graphic novel Sin City, a neo-noir world made up of sub plots with strong alpha males and feisty attractive women. Yes the characters are over the top but hey, that's why they call it FICTION!
I have had a Suzanne Steele reading marathon this weekend and as far as I'm concerned she can do no wrong.

Suzanne Steele reminds me a lot of Jordan Silver. Not as intense but equally good. This was a good book, and I enjoyed it.

3.5**

Extremely ruthless and controlling Alpha heroes paired with submissive/naïve heroines. Very similar to Jordan Silver only less romantic (IMO) and more violent.

Suzanne tells us some women neeed a differnt kind of romace and I was in the mood for something differnt. Her male's character are the Alpha's you want to love, you want to be that women to be loved like crazy. Your mama and socity has called your sexual cravings are wrong and your sick if you like that kinda of stuff. That's why we need her Alpha's they take that wrongness and force themselves on you so you can say I didn't have a choice, he made me do it, but all along you are loving every minute of it. I read parts to my husband told him I wanted him to be like that, he looked at me and said "you could'nt handle it" oh well at least I can read about it. If you like your Alpha's bad and not afraid of taking want they want give this a try as a matter fact look at all her books I have enjoyed a lot of them. OOOhhhh and at the end of this there was a teaser for "The Hitman" it looks sooo good.:)

Loved it

It's hard to describe Suzanne Steele method of writing. In one way or another almost all books intertwine with each other. But not in any order that they would need to be read. Miller is your typical Alpha male he enjoys what he does and makes no excuses for it. He is strong and very much confident in him self and his work. Stormy is pretty much his Achilles tendon and he will move heaven and earth for her. She is strong and does not bow down to him but it's not in a defiance kind of way. She uses everything he throws her way to make her self stronger and I love that. Suzanne Steele had a very unique way of writing I strongly recommend her to anyone who has some sort of twisted fantasy in them.

I don't normally read books that are dark but I liked the blurb and decided to give this one a try.

There were times I really wanted to hate Anthony but geez you can't help but like the guy, even if he is one crazy alpha SOB... Talia is a strong character who refused to give up her independence. Sometimes the messed up circumstances we find ourselves in lead us to something/someone who could save us.

I could not put this book down, I read it in one go. If you are looking for something that's a little dark and different then this is the book for you.

DEUS TODO PODEROSOS!

Great Early Book

This is one of the first of Suzanne’s books that I read. That's why I was shocked when I got to the end to realize I hadn't reviewed it. Correcting that today.
It's an over the top tale of love, Pretty Woman style. But that's where the similarity ends. The Govenor is a dangerous man and though she resists at first, Talia falls for him. His obsession and dark passion makes this more than a typical love story.
We meet Miller here. You'll want to read The Hit Man to get his story.

My first real review.
This was an excellent look into the life of Miller and Stormy, originally known as Laura. For the type of gritty, dark and sensual book I was looking for this series ticked all the boxes.
I loved how their relationship grew and manifested into such a double sided obsession. How he helped her grow and how she helped him love.

Awesomeness, is what this author provides in all the books I have read so far. Can’t wait to keep going.

I’ve tried to continue after the first 10 pages, but this book had no structure, wouldn’t flow, and that was the main reason I couldn’t go through with it. There was no definition of a POV, they were all there, mixed up... 1st person, 3rd person, man lead, female lead... Bad, just bad!
The plot interested me, but it seemed as if it was an author’s 1st draft.

Talia is a prostitute, but not the type that stands on street corners. She has “sugar daddies”, and just a couple at a time so that she can make each think they are the only one. Talia hates what she does and hates herself for doing it but feels she has no choice. Her uncle stole her inheritance right out from under her after her parents died. I’m not sure about the reasoning here. I’ve got no problem with prostitution if it’s truly a woman’s choice and she isn’t forced into it and doesn’t hate herself for what she’s doing. If Talia hates what she does – and feels shame, I’m not sure why she would choose to be a high-priced hooker. It’s not like she has a brood of siblings or children or ANYONE to take care of. She’s not portrayed as someone to whom designer duds and having a lot of money matters to. Why didn’t she get a job at Starbucks? Nevertheless, that’s the set-up.

When we meet Talia she’s having a drink at a bar where the bartender knows what she does and is a contact of sorts – she tips him very well and he keeps her secrets and passes along relevant information as he comes across it. On this particular day she catches the eye of none other than the State Governor.

The Governor pursues Talia and she turns him down, afraid that she will become dependent on what he’s offering and the fact that she would be bound to just one man. Ultimately however she agrees to a one year contract to be at his beck and call and simply his exclusively for one year in exchange for a hefty monthly fee. The Governor isn’t married, but he is engaged – to the devious, heartless, social climbing Julia. When Talia starts coming around Julia is less than thrilled, and when Julia gets the boot, both privately and then ultimately (and more importantly) in the press when the Governor and Julia are seen in public and make the social pages, Julia decides enough is enough.

This was an odd and disjointed little book. Talia doesn’t like or want the Governor but doesn’t think she’s good enough for him either and worries incessantly that she will sink his career. The Governor has a play dungeon in the basement of the governor’s mansion, and stalks Talia at the public library. There just wasn’t enough here to suspend disbelief. The Governor wasn’t hot enough, Talia wasn’t feisty enough… nothing rang true. Even in these books that take us right out of this world to a fantasy place where there are beautiful alpha men with big cocks on tap, a good man knows when no means no and when it means yes yes yes! and where everything will always work out in the end – the characters have to ring true or it doesn’t work. This one didn’t work.

This is by far my favorite series of books by Suzanne Steele because you get to see the transformation of this recluse recent divorcee, and how she attracts the attention of a hit-man who just wants to help her heal. Who would have thought that the Alpha-Dom with a sadistic streak would have a gental side when it comes to not believing Laura was responsible for the wrong doing that was brough against her. He then turned this Recluse divorcee into the complete opposite of what she was, but he did it with tough love in all the right places. This books introduces you to the rest of the Blood brothers that are all linked from tours overseas in the Military. The different character aspects give you a glimse into the other characters in other books, which a peak into their stories. Once I read this series (In one sitting mind you because I just couldnt get enough) I instantly downloaded the books that are related to this series and wanted to read them. Reading these books transferred me from my normal existance in life to actually see myself in the story line. But come on who doesn't love a hot hit-man who can dominate you in the bedroom, and well every where else in between.

Dont judge the book by the first couple pages, you have to actually read the whole way through and then you will see what I mean when I say you become entrapped in the books and just need more. I was sad when it ended, so I think this may become one of the few books that I can re-read a second time and still enjoy it as if I just read it for the first time.

Once again I have to say that this was all story--no filler--and it kept me riveted from beginning to end. This was a very unique story line and I truly enjoyed it. I really like the fact that I get all story and no filler with Suzanne Steele, that is very unusual. This was a story that I could see really happening and the author did so well with depicting it. It was like I was there going through it with them. This story had it all, adventure, murder, sex, love, an Uber-Alpha male and even a hit man that is getting his own series from what I understand--I loved, loved, loved it. If you haven't read it, you need too.

Dang, I was really hoping that this book would do good. When I saw the cover and read the blurb I got really excited since I saw potential. But I only managed to read until page 27 and had to tag this as DNF. The writing and characters were giving me a whiplash. It just has poor construct and needs a lot of editing.

I can't get into the story and can't take the characters seriously. I keep on thinking about Eliot Spitzer and that whole debacle the entire time I was reading this. And there's nothing enticing about that 'Governor' the mental image and stigma was just too much. This book is just not for me.
