"Tonight on stage, Ray Sandler was all those old fantasies come back to life. Emily Rivers soaked up his every move and she felt alive again for the first time in what felt like years. She never thought he would actually notice her, though."

Emily is a successful woman in the tail end of a failing marriage. Ray is the reformed wild boy of rock, back on stage again for the first time in years. As a teenager Emily had Ray's posters all over her bedroom wall so when she gets backstage tickets it's as if her dreams have come true. Actually meeting him is an unexpected highlight of the evening, but that's as far as it could ever go. They come from such different worlds: what could an international star ever see in a grounded, curvy woman like Emily? And how long could they ever keep such a relationship private when everyone from jealous fans to intrusive reporters wants a piece of Ray?

As things turn out to be even more complicated than she had first believed, and when tragedy and angry exes threaten to pull them apart and their secret affair threatens to go spectacularly public, can Emily do anything or has it all gone way beyond her control?

And when one of the sweetest things a man has ever done for Emily turns out to be a lie, will she ever be able to trust him again?

A story of secret romance in the world of the super-rich: an international celebrity and his unlikely BBW love. Steamy and passionate and full of the twists and turns familiar to readers of PJ Adams' work, including the bestsellers Winner Takes All and Black Widow .

"It's our song, Emily. It's your song. It's for you. Everything's for you, now."

Being a huge fan of Angry Cans, Emily has to see what is going on at the Roxette, Ray Sandler is going solo. She has been in love with Ray, from the group, since she was a teenager. Meeting him now as an adult has her flustered. But she is married although her marriage is all but over. She can't fight the feelings for him and he seems to be attracted to her as well. What happens when angry fans and the press get involved? What will she do when she learns the truth? Can Ray make her see what he really feels? This is not the first for me from PJ Adams and I loved it too. Who doesn't love a rock star, we all have had a crush at one time or another.

This was my first read by PJ Adams and I quite enjoyed it.
This story is about Ray Sandler, the rock star, meeting Emily River, a woman who had been a huge fan of Ray's rock group when she was a teenager and who happens to meet Ray now as an adult.
There is an attraction between them but Emily tries to deny it because she is married even though her marriage is all but over.
Because of her association with Ray things start to change in Emily's life. She has to face up to the fact that her marriage is dead and then her work life and her friendships end up being affected too.
While reading this I spent my time fluctuating between loving Ray and then being suspicious of his intentions but by the end my mind is settled.

Great story - a different rock star story

I was offered this book as an ARC for an honest review. I really liked this book. And I liked the characters. Emily was a regular person with a regular life who meets a former famous rock star trying to make a comeback. They both have insecurities and worries and struggles, although Ray has tons of money! Emily is in a failing marriage. Both she and Ray encounter something together they never felt felt before. Is it real? That's why it's worth reading!!

Love it! Another great read from PJ Adams! Did I mention hot?!? Love the storyline and the characters. Emily and Ray sizzle! Hot married rockstar falls for married business woman, what could go wrong? She thinks she's average, he thinks she's beautiful inside and out. Odds are against them but love prevails.

What a wonderful story! This is a must read! A great story about relationships and having the chance to meet your teen rock idol, and him wanting a relationship. There are a lot of twist and turns that make this an incredible story. But it comes down to if you want something, you have to work to make it happen! Loved it, must read!

I was gifted a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Emily is surprised when she realizes that one of her favorite childhood singers will be making a surprise appearing at a small venue near where she lives. Excited to see this man perform she can't believe it when he actually makes eye contact with her during the show. Assuring herself that there was no real connection she is shocked when she actually gets to meet the iconic Ray Sandler's back stage.

Ray wants Emily from the moment their eyes meet. It doesn't matter to him that they are both married to other people. There is something about her that calls to him in a way no woman has in more years than he can remember. Determined to show her he is the man for her he proceeds to chase her like a dog with a bone.

I liked Emily and her quirkiness. However, I had a problem with the whole infidelity thing. The fact that it took a news clip outing her to finally give her the motivation to tell her no good hubby that they were done was just blah for me. Ray I wanted to kick so many times. While from the start he made sure that Emily knew how much he wanted her he made so many stupid decisions during the book that I'm seriously surprised Emily didn't punch him.

I will say that I was sucked into the story and I couldn't put it down until I knew what happened at the end. There were some truly heartfelt moments that showed that maybe love does win in the end.

**I received an ARC of this story for an honest review

This is a story about Emily, a successful businesswoman that goes to a small performance by Ray, the lead singer of one of her biggest high school rock band crushes. By a twist of fate, she gets the opportunity to him after the concert where sparks fly. The upside is she is experiencing a dream come true. The reality is that they are both married.

Emily is at the point where she is realizing her marriage is over, so she can't resist pursuing a relationship with Ray, who has been separated from his wife for a long time. Obstacles threaten to break them up, but in the end they are able to overcome them.

Normally when one (or in this place both) of the main characters are married, it's an instant don't read for me. However, knowing right from the beginning that the marriages were at the end helped me to decide to give it a try. I really liked Emily's character and while some of it was predictable, it worked for me. It was something I could almost imagine happening. With some rock star books I've read, authors tend to throw in every situation imaginable, but the author didn't try to do that here. The end chapter was very sweet.

I loved this book!Emily is a fan of the rock band Angry Cans she is excited to be seeing the lead singer she had a crush on as a teenager relaunch his solo career. Emily goes to the small club where Ray is playing and while he plays their eyes meet. She can't help but wonder, what if they had this moment when she was young and single? At the after party Ray and Emily meet and find they really like each other, when Ray escorts Emily to a cab for the ride home he kisses Emily and it is all she can do to walk away.

Emily is married and unhappy. Ray is married and hasn't had a relationship with his wife for years. The reluctant to be ex-wife soon causes problems for Emily at her place of work, and the soon to be ex-husband won't let go. A member of the band who is helping with the new album may be dragging Ray back into the cycle of drinking and drugs that caused the bands split.

Emily and Ray will have to work hard to make their life together work. All relationships have difficulties theirs a few more than most, but in the end they find a way to be together.

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

I really enjoyed the story, Rock star fantasy turned reality with a few twists!
I'm unsure how I feel about one aspect as I do not believe in perusing relationships when the old isn't finished ...no matter how bad!
This didn't ruin the story for me though, it was a minor thing and only because it's a pet peeve

i loved that Emily is a beautiful curvy gal ...
Ray, a rock star making a come back ... Emily had a rock star teenage crush on Ray...now she's all grown up!
this story has everything you'd expect ...
rock star drama and more ...
oh, and the sex is Hot!!!

I would recommend this book

Surprisingly good

There was a surprising depth to this story that drew me in and held my attention. The sex scenes were detailed, but almost an afterthought as though they weren't meant to arouse, but to illustrate another movement in the main characters' lives. I liked how best friends could forgive and get beyond a betrayal. Ray comes to life as a flawed man who can admit to screwing up and can ask for forgiveness. Emily has maturity and depth; she grows and strengthens so that you know if the HFN doesn't work out she will be fine.

Clearly a great book about rock stars, normal people, bad marriages, pure friendships, lies, true love, clean breakups, bad habits, music and a lot of hope!
I liked this book, it has so many twists I wasn't expecting and that is always good! The sex scenes are so detailed that almost makes you believe you are there, experiencing it, they are hot!
I really hope Ray and Emily stay strong together!!

What I didn't like was the cheating part... who likes it? But that's the whole plot of the book and it came out pretty well.

Ray is the poster boy front man of Angry Cans now coming out with another go as solo. Emily had the Angry Cans posters all over her room years ago. At an unannounced gig there is a connection and the sparks fly.
But both are married, be it in loveliness marriage but married just the same.
Problems follow no matter what the do. But one thing for certain it is a hot and steamy story you will not want to put down.

Well written rocker romance, when your teenager fantasies become reality in your adulthood. They have many hurdles to overcome outside negative influencer and the fact that he has a wife!! Will their romance be enough to survive?

Let's Make This Thing Happen is the first book I've read of P.J. Adams. The storyline was good, the characters were great, and the writing was easy to read although I did find it a bit slow. Emily and Ray's physical attraction is sizzling-hot, their desire for one another an unstoppable force of nature. An enjoyable read.

Turn upside down

This book had a lot of twists, but I loved how it all came together. Sometimes the one you think you love and marry is your soul mate, when there's actually someone who you are really connected too out there. Never settle for less than what you deserve and let no man or woman put you under.

I read a lot of rock star romances. This one wasn't one of the better ones. The sex scenes were hot but too long. We've al had sex, we know how it goes. Both characters were married.
The heroine was a bit of a doormat. The only believable character was the rock star but it was still a caricature. A little more depth to the characters and storyline would've made this book better.

Why doesn't he divorce his wife for his new love? And the best friends betrayal is obsurd and she is forgiven a couple days later. Ray treats her and their relationship poorly the whole book.

Good ... but...

This book has everything an erotic romance should. The problem is that it's predictable. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a mindless read.
