The Michael Varen Saga Continues… The Nearer the Truth, The Greater the Risk It is a year since the events of Snowblind, and Michael Varen’s personal mission to uncover the secrets of the Overseers has taken its toll and netted few results. That is until he and fellow Enforcer Lance Rene are tasked with transferring a prisoner from Canberra to New Melbourne. A straightforward job, except that this prisoner has a connection to Pavel Andropov – the shadow organisations highest ranking member. Armed with new information and operating outside of the JED, Varen moves in to confront his enemy, but the price of knowing the truth will prove to be high. Very high. Questions will be answered. Loyalties will be tested. Law will be Enforced.
Since childhood, Andrew T Shapter has enjoyed both the reading of stories and the telling of them. However, it was only when house-bound and recovering from an injury that Andrew was able to finally write down in detail the story and character ideas that had been floating about in his imagination for so long. The story was 'Snowblind' and that character was Michael Varen. Within months of completion, 'Snowblind' was independently published and slowly began appearing in local and on-line bookstores. With its sharp writing style, intricate plots and strong characters, 'The Michael Varen Saga' has found a growing fan-base, particularly with the release of book 2, 'Varen: Nightfall', and 'Snowblind' having been shortlisted (final 4) for the Southern Readers & Writers Festival Peoples Choice Award 2015. Andrew lives in South Australia with his partner Rebecca and their daughter. Book 3 is in pre-production...
The much anticipated sequel to 'Snowblind' in the Varen series. Book one was a much needed set up, like a nice crisp jab only to be followed by this hard hitting action classic, and if book one was that jab then this one surely is a akin to being a well delivered pugilists right cross. A knock out read for sure.
Varen finds himself in a series of events which not only tests the embers of his endurance but also his deepest loyalties. A fun read which shall keep you engaged throughout, 'Nightfall' lifts the stakes and bar in an ever widening universe of books.
