For fans of The Girl on the Train, Luckiest Girl Alive, and Pieces of Her,Seeking Sasha is a twisty, emotionally charged debut about identity, survival, and the cost of reinventing yourself to outrun the past.
Sasha lives off the grid—new name, new town, same story. Haunted by a traumatic childhood and the mistakes that followed, she scrapes by with odd jobs. The only rule? Never go home. But when she runs into Cole, her childhood best friend turned cop, the persona she’s carefully crafted begins to unravel.
As Sasha and Cole rekindle their friendship, Sasha spirals—fleeing from the one person who might actually see her. What follows is a razor-edged journey across city streets, vineyards, and forest cabins, as Sasha’s fractured identities collapse under the weight of who she really is. Seeking Sasha is a poignant, suspenseful portrait of a woman on the run—from her past, from the truth, and from herself.
Laura Frost is the author of the psychological suspense novel, Seeking Sasha, released in February 2026. A wildlife biologist and amateur baker, Laura has spent the last decade dropping characters into gardens and forests while adding a touch of sweetness to balance out the tension. Laura critiques short stories for online journals and is a four-time returning judge with Writing Battle. When not scurrying around her backyard forest in northern Ontario, Laura explores the world with her family, seeking out adventure to both calm and stir her writing muse.
Seeking Sasha by Laura Frost is a deeply psychological and absorbing novel that explores what it means to run from oneself. At its core is a protagonist whose instinct is disappearance — changing names, identities, and directions whenever life becomes too real or too demanding.
As a reader, you’re constantly on edge, turning pages with the expectation that she will flee again, just when stability seems possible. There’s a quiet frustration woven into that tension — a wish for her to stop running, to accept ordinary life and its calm routines. Yet her naïveté and fear feel painfully believable, which makes the emotional pull even stronger.
Laura Frost clearly did substantial psychological work here. The novel challenges the reader as much as it follows the character, asking how long someone can escape before their own choices place them in real danger. Compelling, unsettling, and impossible to put down — I started it and finished it within twelve hours. Author had no mercy :D
'Seeking Sasha' is a classic page-turner that readers have been needing, even if they weren’t consciously aware of it.
Laura Frost effortlessly makes her main character’s fears and worries completely relatable, allowing readers to fully empathize with her decisions and anxieties. The book’s well-crafted narrative perfectly prompts readers to contemplate the limits of human endurance and the problematic nature of their choices.
'Seeking Sasha' is a must-read for anyone who enjoys gripping, suspenseful, and utterly addictive reads. Prepare to be on the edge of your seat throughout this literary journey!
Author Laura Frost draws readers in through her deliberate imagery. By introducing us to Sasha in the same breath as a piece of garbage, gum wrapper, or slushie cup, these discarded objects subconsciously lead us to picturing Sasha synonymously with cast off objects. A feeling we become familiar with each time Sasha slips back onto the page. As Magda fades and Sasha emerges Frost expertly ties her inner feelings to the portrayal we witness firsthand on the page.
Flitting around a past, the Sasha of then and the hardened woman of now seem worlds apart. Tethered by fleeting memories, the thread begins to unravel as Sasha comes into focus.
Penning a tale that forces readers to reflect, “Seeking Sasha” captures the world of social media, the importance of image, and the necessity to present the best version of ourselves. Its these desires within us all that make it so easy to understand Sasha’s vulnerabilities. From childhood to now, her life hasn’t been easy. Recreating oneself to garner the false confidence necessary to carry on is ever alluring, even for the most secure individuals. And yet, Sasha’s life is anything but secure.
Some days success may look like eating a meal, other days success may be getting off the couch, but there’s success in it nonetheless. “Seeking Sasha” forces readers to reflect on our circumstances, our judgements, and all that we have to be grateful for. A fascinating story of Sasha, Jane, Hayley, Magda, and more.
“Seeking Sasha” portrays the characters we become in our pursuit of happiness and the evolution of ourselves, and yet it is so much more. Empowering, Frost’s novel is a heart wrenching tale of one woman and one cop, the compiling of lies, escape from ourselves, and the person at our core, one we can’t seem to shake, no matter how hard we try.
A thrilling suspense, “Seeking Sasha” blurs the lines between reality and the façade we hide behind. Glimpsing the personas that conceal the real vulnerabilities lurking below, Frost crafts a trippy, psychological romantic suspense.
Sasha only knows how to run. In a world that requires poise, difficult conversations, and so much more, Sasha runs. Relying on Magda and Jane, Hayley and Whitney, Sasha runs, “Seeking Sasha” is her story.
I am counting down the days until Seeking Sasha by Laura Frost finally hits the shelves in February 2026. Everything about this debut promises the kind of gripping, emotional suspense I crave. The premise of a woman living under new names and false starts, haunted by her past yet forced to confront it when she meets someone who truly knows her, sounds utterly addictive. I can already feel the tension of Sasha’s unraveling and the heartbreak of her struggle for identity and survival. The mix of psychological depth, emotional intensity, and edge-of-your-seat pacing will make this impossible to put down. My desperation to read it grows every day—I need this book in my hands the moment it’s released.
Grand psychological suspense novel by Laura Frost, Seeking Sasha. Sasha grew up in a troubled home and never felt she was good enough. So in order to handle the world she would make up different personalities and names, getting a shot of dopamine when these characters would fit the life. Her old friend and neighbour Cole re-enters her life one fateful night. It has stirred up emotions in both of them which creates turmoil in their lives. Great read, could not put it down.
