Immortal Legend Batman (2025) #1-6
Immortal Legend Batman
The story centers on three inheritors of this ancient legacy: Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, and Tim Drake--each embodying and mastering individual cosmic energies in a battle to uphold justice across space and time.
The iconic identities of the Bat-Family--Robin, Nightwing, and Batman--are not just names, but represent powerful, elemental forces from across the galaxy. These powers, known as "ways," have been passed down through generations of warriors. Many, many centuries from now, humanity has become a galactic civilization, with capital megacities on half a dozen planets, and smaller outposts on dozens more. But this expansion came at a cost. To conquer the vast distances between solar systems, humanity tapped into dark matter to bend space-time around ships. This completely transformed the fate of our species. But in order to access the power of dark matter, humanity inadvertently broke the barrier between our universe and our universe's shadow.

A very good Elseworld book. I like the look of the mecha style Immortal Legends. The story is good as well. The action is what slightly, (very slightly), let's the book down. The single super attacks are a bit over done.
Humanity has reached the stars, but there was a price. Somethings were unleashed. To combat this the Immortal Legends were born. Batman the darkness, Robin the light, and Nightwing the bridge between the darkness and light. Together they are unstoppable. However Batman has gone his own way or has he lost his way?
I would love to see more of this Elseworld. The seed have been planted for more. I really like the mix of magic, science and martial arts, a couple of better fights this book would be perfect. The book finishes with a sketchbook featuring character designs and a varient cover gallery.

An incredibly fun and wildly kinetic tokusatsu-inspired Batman Elseworlds tale by Kyle Higgins & Mat Groom (who also did Marvel's great run of Ultraman comics before this!) The Riddler-themed third chapter features a clever gimmick where you can solve the riddles along with Batman, and miraculously does it in a dark and diegetic way which (refreshingly) never breaks the fourth wall. The macro-level plot involves processing the various traumas that come with being Bruce Wayne -- which is a well-trodden Bat-theme, to be sure -- but giving those themes such a wildly different sandbox to play in here made that Bruceness feel fresher than it's been in years. I loved everything about this, and really need to finally check out Higgins & co.'s "Radiant Black" ASAP.

Go Go Batman Rangers!
So you take Matt Groom and Kyle Higgins, who have written like a bajillion Power Rangers comics, pair them with Erica D'Urso, co-creator and artist of Inferno Girl Red, which is also Power Rangers inspired, and designs and back-up stories by Dan Freaking Mora (yes that's his real middle name, I've changed it for him), and you expected me to NOT like this? Madness.
While this is very clearly a Power Rangers pastiche right down to the giant Batman mecha, it's also a lot deeper than that. Across these six issues, Bruce Wayne faces off against six dark versions of himself modeled after iconic Batman rogues but also representing the worst parts of his soul. It's both a deep character study and a planet-leveling battle story all at once, which is...impressive to pull off in just six issues.
It also manages not to feel too dark and gritty as well, with perhaps the most hopeful version of Bruce Wayne I've read in a long time staring as the main character. He apologises! He acknowledges his faults! He asks for help! D'you know how refreshing that is after the usual Batman Is An Island type Bruce we get?
Masterful, enjoyable, beautiful. And with that final page tease...maybe not quite over? Immortal does mean that legends never die, right?

It's more of a Power Rangers style story with Batman themed characters. The story is fine I guess. But there's nothing that really stands out about this arc. The coolest aspect is the reimagining Bruce Wayne as his rouges (which isn't a spoiler since it's revealed at the beginning), but that's already been done in the Dark Nights Metal series, and executed much better. They're different I know, but same concept, and since that's the best aspect of the series, it just makes the whole thing feel flat.

Batman as a sort of power ranger. It's a fun concept and done pretty well. I think there's a lot of Massive-verse influence in this one too. I think a lot of stuff is just breezed past though, which made things a bit less satisfying, at times. It might have been helpful to see a prologue or something showing what "shadows" usually operate like, so that there's more sense of how the ones in this story differ. I didn't even know they weren't supposed to be able to talk until after the first one had been beaten and someone said "but shadows don't talk!"

A manga inspired take on Batman. The actual trappings won't feel very original to anyone who's been exposed to Power Rangers or similar Japanese superheroes, but merging it with the Batman mythos and setting it in space is. The action is over the top, as you'd expect in something like this, but the story is solid and uses familiar Bat characters in interesting ways. The ending does tease a sequel, and I'll certainly pick it up if it comes to pass.

Batman's rogue gallery being "shadow" versions of him is a pretty neat idea. You also get a different spin on the Bat mythos. Kyle Higgins has a gift for coming up with really cool ideas, but sometimes the writing falls a bit flat. Overall, really solid Elseworlds.
The art is gorgeous. Dan Mora is Dan Mora, and is my favorite current artist for a reason. But kudos to Erica D'Urso for also producing some stunning art. And kudos to the colorist because wow the colors are amazing.

An amazing creative team, but a genre (sci-fi? Anime? I wasn't sure) that wasn't for me. In this world, Batman, Robin, and Nightwing have Power Ranger suits and bounce around planets fighting monsters, but Batman has been doing a more targeted hit on a series of twists on the best of Gotham's rogues. The villain designs are the best part of the series for me, but the space stuff and fight scenes and the looks for the Power Ranger suits just didn't get to me.

I dont think this is bad but its just ok. Im a fan of Higgins, and he did great with Power ranger, but this just doesnt land with me. The story is unique but it never felt like it had any stakes to it.
Having every villian just being a different version of bruce just felt off. Sure maybe joker but no all of them.

Really torn on this miniseries. I love the idea of Sentai meets Batman and the concept of the enemies being character flaws of Wayne personified as batman villains but I'm not sure the last two issues really gel.

SciFi and demons reimagining Batman adventure.

Solid Batman elseworlds and on its own is pretty good don’t think it needs to continue even with that teaser at the end. Designs in this are sick as hell.

Next time you're sitting around the house wondering, "What if Batman, Robin, and Nightwing were also Power Rangers?," you should definitely pick up this book.

Nice art. The story has some interesting kernels (like the shared quality of the villains) that never quite coalesce into something substantial.

Not really feeling this. Well made, but not my thing (even though I dig a lot of manga/anime)

Pretty cool manga influenced Elseworlds series. Batman has to fight evil versions of himself based on his Rogues gallery. The creators have all worked on Power Rangers comics and those influenced the story. Pretty solid stuff.
