One Therapy Too Far: A dark and gripping psychological crime thriller — Scandi-noir atmosphere with a Polish twist

Rate this book
A therapist is murdered behind the closed doors of her clinic.

Detective Konecki—pushed out of the system—starts asking questions no one wants answered.

A therapist is found murdered inside her own clinic.

The police open an investigation, but the case quickly grows uncomfortable. The clinic, its patients, and its methods raise questions the authorities seem eager to avoid.

Detective Konecki has been pushed out of the system. Officially, he’s nobody. Unofficially, he’s the only one willing to dig where others won’t.

As he follows the trail, the line between therapy and manipulation begins to blur—and every answer uncovers another layer of darkness.

This is a psychological crime novel about control, guilt, and the stories people tell to justify the unthinkable.

A slow-burning investigation where the real danger isn’t what’s hidden—but what’s revealed.

Perfect for fans of psychological crime and noir fiction with a dark, Scandinavian atmosphere and a Polish twist.

For readers who value tension, moral ambiguity, and characters shaped by their past.

One Therapy Too Far is the first book in the Detective Konecki series.

The investigation continues in Book 2, coming in 2026.

Dark, gritty, and impossible to put down. The murder at the clinic sets the stage for a gripping story full of secrets, lies, and hidden motives. Detective Konecki is a flawed but fascinating lead, and I was hooked from the very first page.

This book pulled me right into its noir atmosphere. The world of therapy, twisted into something sinister, felt both fresh and chilling. Konecki’s murky past makes him the perfect character to chase the truth others want to keep buried.

Suspenseful and sharp, with plenty of twists to keep you guessing. The deeper Konecki digs, the darker the mystery becomes — and I couldn’t wait to uncover the next revelation. Fans of Jo Nesbø will feel right at home here.

One Therapy Too Far is an addictive start to a new crime series. The clinic setting is original and unsettling, and Konecki’s outsider perspective makes the investigation even more intense. I’m already eager for the second book.

Mind-blowing and phenomenal! It had me by the throat the whole time. Everyone needs to read it. 🕵️📖

I loved learning more about all the characters important to the story alongside trying to solve the mistery. And the ending was truly heart stopping, still can't believe it.
