Bridget loves her husband (every day) and all five of her kids (most days).
She’s a lawyer but does as little legal work as possible. She has three quarter horse geldings, a Holsteiner (jumping) horse, and she spends too much time riding and not enough time writing. (Or too much time writing and not enough time riding, depending on your perspective!)

When the time is right, it’s right! They’ve known each other for 15 years, since they double dated with Seren and Dave, even when the dates were a cross over. They were attracted to each other at the time, but never acted on it. Always friends and always there with every event the foster family had as their unrelated aunt and uncle. Never realizing that there was more than just friendship. Until fate throws them together. Barbara has a very low opinion of herself and can’t believe that Bentley wants more. When you’re about forty an opinion like that is so much ingrained, that it is extremely difficult to shed. I enjoyed the story very much, also the twin girls that became Barbara’s foster children. I found it a bit hard to believe that they were able to live by themselves for such a long time and no agency intervened at all. Even more so while the dad was notified when the mother died. It is not an easy subject, writing about foster children and parents, but it is good to realize that not all of their stories are bad. And some children know it is the end of a very bad time and the beginning of better things, being loved one of them. As usual Ms Baker writes with great compassion and a lot of humor. Good for a lot of laughs and some tears. I loved it.
I loved this unplanned book by B.E. Baker. I’m so glad she wrote it. I love that Barbara isn’t the skinny girl and Bentley falls in love anyway. He doesn’t need her to change and helps her see he worth. I also love that we get another foster story. And of course, I love that it’s a Christmas time story
Loved this. Maybe it was the character background from the first two books about Bentley, but I was so happy to have his story. Like the first two books in the series, we see how family is not always related by blood, but is there for you no matter what.
