This was one hell of a ride and I loved almost every minute of it!

This is the ninth book in the Mac Faraday Mystery series and the first one I've read, but I had no problems getting into the story, much thank to the character listing that was in the beginning of the book. It was very good to have because there were a lot of characters involved in this story and it wasn't always easy to keep track of everyone, for instance, who belonged to which family and so on.

Mac Faraday and Archie Monday's wedding is in three days, but a lot of things can happen during three days and, believe me, a lot of things did happen during the days. We got shootings, kidnappings, murders and to top everything terrorists out for blood. This is a non-stop action book, it happened things all the time and it was a real pleasure to read. The characters were all great. It was no problems reading this book even though I haven't read any of the previous ones, it only made me more determent to read all eight before this one so that I could get to know the characters more and figure out things that they mentioned that happened in the previous books.

The only thing that stopped me from giving it a 5 star rating was the instalove relationship between Jessica Faraday and Murphy Thornton; I mean I can understand that they could feel attracted to each other, but it went from hello to I love you in a blink of the eye and that is just something I can't take. Yes, I can take over the top action, but instalove there goes my limit. But, besides that as this book a true joy to read!

I recommend this book to anyone that likes a fast-paced book!

I received this copy from Pump Up Your Book! in return for an honest review!

This is the second book I have read by this author. Although, it originally was going to be my first book. I picked this one up first and started reading it, however I found myself really struggling to connect with the characters in this book, despite the rapid body count. So I put this book aside and picked up the other book I had by this author of Kill and Run. The first book in the author's new series, A Thorny Rose Mystery. Which the lack of instant connection with the characters in this book might have to do with the fact that this is book nine in the series. However with Kill and Run being the first book it was nice to see Jessica Faraday featured in this book from Kill and Run. Even though this is only the second book that I have read by this author's I do have to say again that I shared an instant connect with the characters in her new series that I did this one. Although, I don't want to blame the fact that I never read any other books in the Mac Faraday series prior to this one as to a reason that I did not share the instant connection with the characters in this book. I thought the ending was fine.

Fans of past Mac Faraday and Lovers in Crime mysteries are in for a treat with Three Days to Forever. I have chosen to take a different path with the latest Mac Faraday Mystery. Don’t worry. We have plenty of dead bodies and lots of mystery—as well as intrigue, suspense, and page turning twists.

The key job of a fiction writer is to look at a situation, make observations about how things are and how they work, and then ask, “What if …” Then, the writer twists, turns, and manipulates, while maintaining believability, to make for a thrilling plot.

This is what I have done with Three Days to Forever.

Mac Faraday’s latest adventure plunges him, Archie, David, Gnarly, and the gang head first into a case that brings the war on terror right into Deep Creek Lake. Current political issues will be raised and discussed by the characters involved.

Keep this in mind while you turn the pages—Three Days to Forever is fiction. It is not the author’s commentary on politics, the media, the military, or Islam. While actual current events have inspired this adventure in mystery and suspense, this fictional work is not meant to point an accusatory finger at anyone in our nation’s government.

If, however, future events prove that circumstances in Washington are as I have depicted them in Three Days to Forever ... well, keep in mind that you read it here first.

HOLY COW! This is a heck of a book.

If you are a fan of Tom Clancy, you will love this book.

I have read other Mac Farraday books and found them to be terrific mysteries. The plots are always interesting and the character development is first rate.

This is a Mac Farrady book on steroids.

Mac was the heir to a fortune from his biological mother. She was a famous author and she wanted her son to benefit from her wealth. He is a retired homicide detective who now lives a life of privilege and wealth.

Mac is about to marry the love of his life, Archie. His children and his friends are attending the wedding celebration and everyone is meeting at his luxury resort hotel.

The family and friends include Mac's daughter and son, Mac's half brother who is the chief of police, a county prosecutor who is a retired Naval Officer, the prosecutor's son who is a Naval Officer in special operations, a policewoman who is a homicide detective. As you can see, there are a number of law enforcement and military personnel who will be spending time celebrating the wedding of their good friends.

But, nothing is as it appears. There are plots which will lead to danger for everyone in the wedding party. And for quite some time, no one has any idea why they are being attacked.

This is a political thriller about terrorism. Because of recent world events, it is a very timely story of home grown terrorists who fit into our society because they are a part of our society.

The bad guys are very bad and they apparently have no conscience or sense of empathy for anyone. Everyone who is not an old friend or part of the family becomes a suspect. All the suspicion seems to be well deserved.

I liked this book very much. It moves from one surprising attack to the next very quickly. The reader gets the feeling that around every corner there is danger. The reader is right. Things that seem ordinary become quite extraordinary very quickly.

Lauren Carr is a very talented author who definitely knows how to hold my attention. The plot is involved and keeps moving right along. The characters are terrific. Each person is well rounded and takes on the shape of a real human being. There is very heroic behavior by many of these people. Just as we have seen in the real world, heroic behavior is what is needed in order to protect our lives from terrorism and all that goes with it.

I received this ARC book from the publisher, Acorn Book Services, with the hope I would provide a fair and honest review. I have been a fan of Mac Farraday books for quite some time and this book is no exception. All opinions are my own.

Posted first to Blog Critics as Book Review: 'Three Days to Forever,' A Mac Faraday Mystery by Lauren Carr.

In Three Days to Forever by Lauren Carr, we are finally zoned into the wedding of the year. Mac Faraday and Archie Monday have finally gotten their calendar set. Family and friends have set aside the time to honor this huge social event and Mac’s daughter as well as his best friend’s son are all a part of the festivities. With just a short time till nuptials, there is suddenly a sinister presence forcing its way into the heart of the occasion.

As a professional band of assassins begin their assault on a group of wedding guests which include Mac’s daughter Jessica, his best friend’s son Murphy, his soon to be mother-in-law as well as his dog Gnarly, Mac helps the small police force try and find the clues behind the attack before it is too late.

Trapped and fighting for their lives, suddenly danger is more real and Mac must help to find a way to save his family and guests. Archie is unable to help due to injury, but Mac presses forward, for even as they eradicate the first danger, he must find out what has set off this chain of events and put a stop to the continued threat of death to his family and friends. Can he help decipher the clues before it is too late?

Carr has continued on with her series involving Mac Faraday and his soon to be bride, Archie Monday. She has added to his group of friends by introducing family members that are just as real and robust as those of her initial group. She continues on the vein of romance and danger, creating sparks of both to keep your interest lit and flaring. From the annoying to the amazing she finds the right attitude with her characters, creating both chaos and a sense of humor.

Including Gnarly in the scenes gives us that depth of feeling that creates both fear for his safety as well as honor for his courage and bravery. His antics always seem to add a touch of humor in even the most dire of situations.

If you enjoy action and adventure as well as mystery and romance you will find this work is just the thing. Think danger and espionage and you will find a trickle of that danger that weaves throughout the story. Carr continues to keep us enthralled with her protagonist, and yet each character is strong enough to stand on their own as well.

This would be a great work for a reading and discussion group. The depth of feeling and mystery would be sure to keep the dialogue open.

I am familiar with Mac Faraday and his cohorts, so I was happy to be able to read to review this mystery novel. I felt Lauren Carr would not let me down and was right. I enjoyed the novel and look forward to reading more of her work.

I am loving the cover, simple, yet I sense an aura of menace.

Mac Faraday and Archie Monday are getting married. It will be the event of the season for the Spencer Inn and Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.

Just days before the wedding, Mac receives an envelope, containing a warning. As if that is not enough of a problem, he is attacked by a professional hit squad and the tale is off and running. Someone wants him dead. Or do they? Is he the real target? It seems so obvious, I am suspicious. I read on, getting deeper into the story, more involved with the characters as the danger spreads.

Plots within plots. There is so much going on, twisting and, turning, keeping me wondering how this will come together in a completed story. Who’s doing what to whom? Is it revenge for a perceived wrong? A terrorist threat from Iraq?

There are too many characters to mention, but they all contribute to the story in their own special way. We have met some of them before and will hear about some of them again and again, as we travel through the mystery series with Lauren Carr.

An invisible unit: Under the cover of anonymity, a secret unit, that does what no one else can do, what cannot be allowed to reach the light of day. They are cloaked in secrecy and deniability.

The politics are dirty, but necessary. This book will expose its biggest weaknesses, at the highest levels. Three Days To Forever by Lauren Carr reads as if it could be true. The good. The bad. The current events. Revenge, murder, terrorism, romance, love, loyalty and a determination to do what is right, regardless of the consequences.

Three Days To Forever is not a light read. The mystery and suspense kept me captivated, as I traveled from Iraq to the United States and back again. Lauren kept me guessing and on my toes. I never anticipated all the events that would ensue.

I did not sit on the edge of my seat with bated breath, or have to stay up all night until I finished it, but I did read the book, which is 434 pages in this ARC paperback, within a twenty four hour period.

I look forward to reading more Mac Faraday mysteries by Lauren Carr, or anything else she chooses to write.

4 STARS

This has more of spy thriller mystery feel to it. Dealing with terrorists. It is exciting, has humor, lots of action, drama , romance and mystery. I stayed up till 2:00 am to finish. It is a fast paced story.

We get to see a different side to David, the military service. Then 18 months later it is three days to Mac & Archie's wedding. It is going to be a big social wedding. Then a assassination team hits Mac's house, with his future Mother-in-law Agnes Douglas, Joshua Thornton and Gnarly of course.

On another front Mac gets threat from a husband of a murder suspect that he put behind bars.

Lot of characters that we have met before in Mac Faraday Mysteries and Lovers in Crime series. Plus we actually get to meet Mac's two children. Lots of targets for murder.

Mac Faraday inherited 270 million dollars on the day of his divorce. From his birth mother. He is a retired homicide detective. Mac instead of being a rich playboy type, Still helps out by working murder cases by local police department. Mac also inherited Gnarly not your everyday dog.

Gnarly is a fun character. A dog who got a dishonorable discharge from the Military. He is a thief.

guard dog, I love Gnarly, he brings a lot of humor to the series.

I love this series of books from Lauren. I laugh, like the mystery and don't put the book down till I have finished and I like to reread the stories too.

I look forward to reading more stories from Lauren Carr. I was given Three Days to Forever to read and in return agreed to give honest review.

MacFaraday is close to one of my favorite non who dun-its. Lauren Carr, with her MacFaraday series, has created a whole world around her used-to-be-a-detective. Reading the character list in Three Days to Forever was staggering and I had already been introduced to most of them in her previous releases.

In this huge shoot 'em up, she unleases her hidden imp. Three Days reads like a novel that would go straight to a movie. She has the explosions, the home invasions, the love scenes and everything else you'd expect. Absolutely nothing is missing. There is something incredibly sweet about a son saving his dad, and doing it with sharp panache. What's left for the next MacFaraday, Lauren? Even the kitchen sink was in this one.

Holy Cow

I don't know how you could possibly pack more content into a small book. Fortunately, there are eight prior books to help with character definition and relationships between the primary players. Lots of action, twists & turns and yet the whole time there us this underlying theme of a family reunion. This may well be the best of the series, but take time to enjoy them all. Thanks, Lauren Carr.

Cheers to carrying on the family tradition!

What a great way to continue the Faraday-Thornton legacy. Lauren Carr is a wonderful storyteller and this series leads you in a way that keeps you hooked and coming back for more. I had a really hard time putting this book down and was terribly disappointed when it was over. Please keep them coming.

Three Days to Forever is another heart pounding, suspenseful mystery that will leave you on the edge of your seat to the last-minute!

In this novel, we have our two main characters Archie and Mac Faraday about to tie the knot but what could possibly go wrong for this much talked about social event of the year? We find out a lot could go wrong! Every step closer to the altar brings disaster for the very much in love couple. And not the typical ordinary normal pre-wedding problems (even though they do have those!) - we are talking murder, shoot outs and more! Someone wants to put an end Mac Faraday's marriage before it even starts.

Three Days to Forever is the perfect blend of suspense, mystery, murder and humour (yes humour!). Lauren develops characters that are realistic and individuals that you want to know. You want them to solve the mystery and you pray for their safe keeping throughout the novel. She has an amazing talent of drawing in characters from her other novels in a way that is fresh, unique and always has a tie to an old or new plot (I think this is my favourite part - I am not sure how she keeps track of all the connections!). You don't have to worry if you have not read her previous novels, she includes a list of characters and their connections at the beginning of each book. You will fall in love with Lauren's writing and attention to detail. Three Days to Forever is a definite must read for all mystery lovers!

About the Author:

Lauren Carr is the best-selling author of the Mac Faraday Mysteries, which takes place in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. Three Days to Forever is the ninth installment in the Mac Faraday Mystery series. In addition to her series set on Deep Creek Lake, Lauren Carr has also written the Lovers in Crime Mysteries, which features prosecutor Joshua Thornton with homicide detective Cameron Gates, who were introduced in Shades of Murder, the third book in the Mac Faraday Mysteries. They also make an appearance in The Lady Who Cried Murder. Three Days to Forever introduces Lauren Carr’s latest series detectives, Murphy Thornton and Jessica Faraday in the Thorny Rose Mysteries. Look for the first installment in this series in Spring 2015.

My Review:

Mac Faraday, a retired homicide detective received a picture of his fiancé, with a man standing beside her. The man Russell Dooley, sent two simple sentences on a note along with the picture, that made Mac's blood run cold. Russell was someone from Mac's past, he was the man that he had angered some time ago when he put his wife behind bars.

The man still blamed Mac for her suicide. With his fiancé now in danger Mac decides he is going to need some help. Mac decides to incorporate several to help him and with all involved the solving of this case looks promising.

The author did an amazing job! The story is very exciting and to describe it as a roller coaster ride is barely the tip of the iceberg. She was able to describe everything in such detail, I felt like I was there during some of the scenes in the book. The characters are very in depth and real, a definite page turner!

From the terrorist camps in Iraq to Deep Creek, Maryland, "Three Days to Forever (A Mac Faraday Mystery Book 9)" takes the reader along on a thrill ride that will keep us glued to the pages.

The first part of the story began eighteen months before, when Major David O'Callaghan and his crew took out a group of terrorists who were poised to blow them away.

Then the story takes us to Deep Creek and days before the social event of the season, and the wedding between Mac Faraday and Archie Monday. As guests and participants begin to arrive, a hit squad descends on Spencer Manor, endangering Mac, his friend Joshua Thornton, and Archie's mother, Agnes Douglas.

In the remaining days leading up to the New Year's Eve nuptials, numerous plots unfold, including one in which an old enemy of Mac's vows to make him pay...and then ends up dead.

Why is Mac's DNA all over the crime scene? How can he prove his innocence?

Just when everyone is focused on staying alive and proving Mac's innocence, a series of strange occurrences remind them all that dark and evil forces are bringing the full brunt of their malevolence upon them all. Will David's kidnapping stall the celebrations? Who can penetrate the hangout where the terrorists are keeping him, and save him before it is too late?

The most fun in this novel was how many new characters joined the familiar ones, like Joshua Thornton's sons, Murphy, J. J., and Donny; and Mac's son and daughter, Jessica and Tristan.

I also enjoyed seeing Cameron again, Joshua's wife and a detective from a jurisdiction in Pennsylvania. She has less to do in this story, but her presence is felt.

And another animal joined the pair we are already familiar with (Gnarly and Molly): Jessica's dog Spencer.

While I enjoyed the twists and turns of this latest thriller, I had some issues with how the political aspects made it seem as if the President and almost everyone in official positions were corrupt. Perhaps that was just my take, and since it did not impact the other parts of the story, which I enjoyed, I am awarding 4.0 stars. I always enjoy the characters in these books.

From Baghdad, Irag to Deep Creek Lake, MD the danger and excitement increases in volime.
For those unfamiliar with this series, author Lauren Carr provides a brief introduction to characters at the beginning. It is convenient to refer back to when things get complicated.

The tone of the Prologue is very dark, ugly and complicated.
Move ahead 18 months to part one, and while still complicated, it is easier and faster paced to read. The suspense begins building.
The focus seems to be on the upcoming nuptuals of wealthy, retired Mac Faraday and his betrothed, Archie Monday. Archie is off with herbridesmaids for prewedding pampering, which proves to result in obstacles and misfortune. (Forboding)
Before Mac can leave home for his tux fitting, his day becomes unwelcomely exciting when a professional hit squad pins down his estate, including Gnarly, Mac's shepherd, and Archie's mother, who showed up unexpectedly, and groomsman Josh.
I really enjoyed what Agnes, the mother, brought to the story.
She provided some comic moments among the danger.

Most of Mac's friends have special military training and even in civilian life they have occupations that create enemies. Anyone could be the target of the attacks through the course of this book. This wedding is drawing celebrities, the rich and powerful, the well connected to Deep Creek Lake.
To further complicate things, Mac's daughter is almost kidnapped, Josh's wife IS kidnapped, Mac is implicated in a murder, and the body count keeps rising.
Did I mention terrorists and a tarantula?
How can there possibly be a satisfying ending? Who will survive to attend a wedding?

Included in the plot are the grown children of Mac and his friends.
We learn more about each of them and I believe they will play larger roles as this series continues.

I did receive a copy of this book in eschange for my honest review.
I will read more of this series.

*Received a free copy from the author for an honest review*

This is the first time I have read this author's writing and I have to say that I am going to end up buying all her books. I liked this book that much!

I was literally bombarded with the characters from the start. The good thing is that the author was thoughtful enough to include the cast of characters else I would have been lost. This is my fault since I jumped into the nineth book directly. Inspite of it all, it wasn't hard to recognise the characters after a few chapters.

The characters were complex and well developed and fun to read about. Every one of them has a distinct personality which meshes with the story and with each other. They balance each other out and this added to the readability of the book. My most memorable character was Agnes. I so loved her spunky nature! I couldn't figure out the distinction of the characters into main and supporting cast because everyone had an important role in the story. I loved the dogs' antics which added the much needed humour to the otherwise tense story.

The plot was well thought out and there were no loose ends at the end. The story was fast paced to keep my attention easily. The book is a treat to a reader who loves a mix of genres in their reads. It has the right amount of romance, mystery, action and thrill to keep me satisfied from the start to the end. The only thing which kind of put me off was the very fast romance between Jessica and Murphy.

The book has a light hearted feeling which comes out of fighting against evil and winning at the end. It made a good read for the weekend.

My one line review : A fast paced mystery with a sprinkle of romance and humour and heroic action.

My rating : 4/5

My reread factor : 4/5

I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.

This is the first Mac Faraday novel I've read but it definitely stands on its own. That's not to say I won't go back and read the previous ones. I like Lauren Carr's writing style. It's easy to follow and she doesn't get bogged down with lengthy descriptions. The dialogue is especially enjoyable.

There are a lot of characters in Three Days to Forever so there is a Cast of Characters listed at the beginning. I thought that was a great idea even though I only had to refer to it once or twice. I like Mac Farraday and his fiancee, Archie Monday. They're celebrities whose wedding is going to be the event of the year. The pre-wedding week is a disaster, including everything from a murder to a hair mishap, but they take it all in stride (for the most part). Archie's "disasters" tickled me.

Several of the characters were unbelievably talented at survival and assassination skills but it made for a good story. Mac definitely has some interesting friends!

My favorite character has to be Archie's mother, Agnes. She's 70, stubborn, and capable of keeping up with the big boys. On top of that, she's good at putting Mac in his place. What a woman!

I definitely recommend Three Days to Forever. If you like mystery, intrigue, and action, it's one you don't want to miss.

I liked that this book was finally going to be about Mac's wedding. I have read other books in this series and I always thought that Mac and Archie were meant to be! When I was planning my wedding I was worried about being late, not being kit by a hit squad! What I like about this author is that her characters do get hurt, and they are not indestructible. Their love is sometimes silly, and that makes them more likable. I really liked the end with the dogs and that made me smile! This is the beginning of Jessica's character and I think that she is going to be as much trouble as her relatives. The mystery was really good, and I was guessing until the end. Especially this story because there were so many shady characters. The author did a great job with adding political drama to the plot as well. This is definitely a series to keep reading! I really liked that old characters had closure and new characters are only just beginning. I am giving this book a 5/5. I was given a copy to review, however all opinions are my own.

This is my first Lauren Carr book and I totally loved it! This was action-packed from the first chapter to the last! If one is looking for a great combination of Crime thriller, mystery, suspense, intrigue with just the right a\mount of Romance, then look no farther...this is it!
Whether you are a YA or an Adult this novel fits you age group. The main characters range from age 14 to 65!

What began as an elaborate wedding event, turned explosive then ended with a BANG! The Characters seem very real and the scenes are easily envisioned. The entire book is portrayed well without sexual explicitness nor foul language! The Book Cover is fitting but not appealing to the "browser", yet, the Title fits perfectly! The book is sectioned off very cleverly which gives the reader the feel of reading a few sequels without pause which flow very well from one to another.

Lose the conservative politics.

Having read several Carr novels and enjoying the implausible, but entertaining trials of the main characters, I have to say I was dismayed and disappointed by the thinly disguised references to the Obama administration's shortcomings, as posited by the conservatives. Promoting conspiracy theories and bigotry serves no one well and added nothing to the story. The same storyline could have been accomplished without displaying the bent toward Fox News nonsense.

Appalling and brutal killfest. The frantic hate here is actually scary.

This author gained my trust enough that I stayed through the mobster stories. Now the characters we have grown to like have become really horrid people.

Not nasty in a good way as we explore the story and uncover frailties and such, they are just plain terrible, even evil. I am still spitting out the cardboard.

Has anyone got a body count? I cannot bear to go back and figure it out.

It has been one crazy winter pattern where I am so this was a nice book to settle in with. Keeps you guessing, keeps you glued and keep you needing more! The authors talent shows extremly well in her work. This is a series, and now I am going to back track to catch all the books! I strongly recommend that you grab this book, you will diffidently enjoy it just as much as I have!

Wow, I am so glad I discovered this author because I just loved this book. There is so much going on that it is hard to pick just a few reasons why I enjoyed it so much but I will try. Firstly I think it is the characters. Okay there is a lot of them and all with there own personal connections and relationships and it did start of a bit confusing. Maybe it would have helped more if I started on book one but it didn't take too long to get it straight and once I did I really liked them. There is plenty of humour to balance out the seriousness of the plot, from animal antics to one liners and general teasing and of course a disasters wedding. Secondly the plot it's self was really good and had plenty of action and twist that kept me hooked. I liked how there is a mystery that is hidden behind a much more explosive terrorist plot and it is a book I can see myself revisiting in a few months, when it's not so fresh in my memory. For now I am off to see what other books are in this series.
Planning a big wedding is never easy and something always goes wrong but nobody could predict how wrong Mac and Archie's wedding could go. First Mac receives a photo of a man he put in jail partying with his to be wife on her hen night and the message I got this close. He sends his step brother round to warn the man to stay away only to find him dead in his hotel room. Then before the groom can collect his tux the brides mother turns up for a heart to heart, quickly followed by some gun tooting goons that will stop at nothing to get at there target. With guns blazing things get even worse when Mac's own daughter becomes a target. Is someone trying to use her to get to her father? If so way? And can they figure it out before the body count raises any higher or Mac gets arrests for murder? The wedding might not be the only thing to get cancelled when the FBI gets involved and start talking about terrorists and beheadings.
I liked the narrator he does a good job of bringing the characters to life in this roller coaster ride.

Three Days to Forever
A Mac Faraday Mystery #9
By Lauren Carr

You are cordially invited to the
social event of the year...
New Year's Eve at the Spencer Inn
and the wedding of
Mac Faraday to Archie Monday

Mac Faraday and Archie Monday's wedding is just days away when everything goes oh, so very wrong. Someone from Mac's past makes a threat that Mac takes to Spenser Police Chief David O'Callahan. What David finds puts Mac as suspect number one in a murder case. But before Mac can be questioned a team of assassins attacks Spenser Manor which sends Mac, Gnarly, Joshua Thornton, and Archie's mother on the run.

All too soon everyone connected with the wedding is in a race against time as even more lives are threatened. As the wedding comes ever nearer - wedded bliss for Archie and Mac is seriously in doubt. Can they determine who did what to who? And why were Spenser Manor and its occupants the target of a professional hit team? And Jessica Faraday and Murphy Thornton have their first meeting which is more than a little memorable.

If you want a fast-paced mystery that finds everyone is in danger (well maybe not Monique - Tristan's pet tarantula). Is the wedding party caught up in several cases or are they all somehow related? This is one book you will want to pay very close attention to so as to not miss out on any clues as to how everything will all unfold. Let's just say this year is about to go out with a bang.

Now I enjoyed this book in the audio format, which was narrated by C.J. McAllister. I found the narration to be well done, though I did play it back 1.4 times its normal playback speed. I listened to it at the pace I would have been reading it in print. At the default speed, this book comes in at just under 11-1/4 hours of listening - perfect for a week of commuting, exercise, or chores.

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book with no expectations but that I provide my honest opinion, all thoughts expressed are my own.

This is my first Mac Faraday book but it definitely wont be my last, evidently I have been missing out. I really enjoyed this book. This is one of those books that I got irritated anytime I had to stop listening. I couldn't wait to get back to it. It is definitely worth your time and credit.

It's a very entertaining, well written, fast paced story with fantastic narration that is packed full of action, suspense and intrigue. What more could you ask for.

Great cast of well rounded and likable characters. The bits of humor throughout just add to the overall enjoyment of the story and brings out each characters personality. Even though it's part of a series, I had no problem following the story. I need to go back and listen to the rest of the series.

C.J. McAllister did a fantastic job with the narration. Great voice that just draws you right into the story and brings it to life. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Really good character voices. All of them male and female. He was the perfect narrator for this book. Very enjoyable

This is the 9th Mac Farraday Mystery book.

Mac and Archie are going to have a public wedding. Everything is set. What could go wrong? Everything.

This story is right out of the newspapers with terrorists, jihadists, corrupt FBI agents, and radical Islamists. There is also humor thrown in. I enjoyed Mac and his mother-in-law's relationship. Mac doesn't hold back in his comments. I also enjoyed the hot relationship that developed quickly between Jessica Farraday and Murphy Thornton.

Throw in a guy who wants to get back at Mac for allegedly ruining his life by framing his wife who went to prison and committed suicide. He sends a note to Mac telling him that he plans to ruin Mac's life. Days later, the man is dead. He was stabbed 29 times and Mac's blood and DNA are all over the place.

All of the crew are present for this one. A list of who's who is placed at the front of the book. For those who are sentimental, you even get a wedding at the end.

Much better books about international terrorists have been written: Alex Lukeman, Russell Black, Steven Konkoly. They at least come across as knowing what they are writing about. This was implausible and convoluted from start to finish. Too many side plots not necessary to the story. Way too many characters. Highly unlikely a top spy would read rural cops into a mission. This, and the last with it’s messy foray into religion, should be the last such books. Stick with the regular murder mysteries.

Three Days to Forever was just one of those books that had so much going on that I fell like I could listen to it a second time and pick up on things that I missed the first time though. The audio book had one of those fast paced plots that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time as I tried to figure out who the true target was and how the book would end.C.J. McAllister did a spectacular job narrating this book; I particularly liked how he did the characters' voices.
