Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Yasmine Cheyenne’s The Comeback Era is an encouraging and thoughtful self-help book centered on rediscovering yourself, challenging limiting beliefs, and creating a life that feels authentic rather than simply acceptable. Drawing on personal experiences, relatable stories, and her Seven C’s of Purpose framework, Cheyenne invites readers to reconnect with the version of themselves that existed before expectations, fear, and self-doubt began shaping their choices.

What I appreciated most was the book’s compassionate tone. Cheyenne writes as though she’s having an honest conversation with the reader rather than lecturing from a pedestal. Many of her insights about personal growth, self-reflection, and giving yourself permission to evolve felt genuine and accessible. The emphasis on reconnecting with your younger self and examining how past experiences influence present decisions was particularly impactful.

That said, some sections felt repetitive, and there were moments when the messaging covered familiar self-help territory that seasoned readers of the genre may have encountered before. While the concepts are valuable, I occasionally found myself wanting deeper exploration and more actionable strategies to complement the inspirational themes.

Overall, The Comeback Era delivers a warm and motivating message for anyone feeling stuck, disconnected, or ready for a new chapter. While it didn’t completely reinvent the self-help genre for me, its heartfelt approach and encouraging perspective make it a worthwhile read for those seeking a gentle reminder that growth isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about returning to who you’ve always been.

A reflective, uplifting read that offers plenty of encouragement, even if some of its lessons feel familiar.

A Powerful Reminder That It’s Not Too Late

The Comeback Era is an uplifting guide for anyone who has ever wondered, “Is this really it?” Yasmine Cheyenne beautifully reframes what many call a crisis as clarity, and shows that the desire for change is wisdom, not failure.

I especially loved her concept of reconnecting with “Little You,” the version of yourself before fear and expectations took over. Her writing is warm, compassionate, and empowering.

This isn’t about blowing up your life—it’s about coming back to yourself. A timely, inspiring read for anyone ready for their next chapter.

it was just fine.

It's kind of a retread of every self help book you've read, focused on going after your goals. I don't think there was any kind of new idea in here, though I did appreicate that it acknowledges that not everyone has the same 24 hours. Unfortunately it lacks a lot of concrete guides. It's full of mantras and vague ideas about what is important. It really harps on focusing on what your inner child/"little you" would be interested in and how they would act. It's pretty short and fine for a motivation boost.

Nothing bad, but nothing really that special.
