A good summary on the main points of the legendary Hooked. I recommend reading the original book, this is just for a good rehearsal of the main points (or to read to find out if you want to read the full book).
I listened this on Audible and ironically, the "30 minutes" is 60 minutes because of the slow voice actor :). But a good book.
All of the ideas of this summary felt familiar to me. I didn't quite feel like I got a whole heck of a lot out of this book, but that might speak to Eyal's success of spreading his ideas into the tech world over the last decade. Although it didn't feel like I was discovering novel ideas, the points raised were a helpful reminder of the roots of social media's success, etc.
I liked the way they defined the habitual products & the method he developed to creat more customer engagement as they will be hooked by their own habits !
This book offers an interesting behind the scenes view into how products and applications are developed. I thought the author did a good job of being concise enough to pique interest in purchasing the full book, if you are someone who works in or studies this field. The focus on the success of the Bible app was an especially interesting method of studying people's habitual behavior. I was given this book to review, but it did not affect my opinion in any way.
