Working as a librarian for Wamego Public Library in Kansas is dull and not exciting for him and his dog, Tot. When a storm whisks them away inside of a tornado, Drew knows he’s not in reality anymore. Ryder lives in the land of Emberland with his mother. When both of them hear a loud crash outside, Ryder investigates alone to see Drew and Tot unharmed of the barn house wreckage. Drew is confused and wants to go home. Drew follows Ryder to meet his Ryder’s mother, and what he learns and discovers about her is astonishing. Ryder’s mother tells Drew the only way to go home is to see the Wizard who lives at the Silver City. Ryder, Drew, and Tot embark on a journey of love, secrets, and danger. But as they connect more with each other, Ryder wishes Drew never left Emberland. But can Drew make it home safe, or will a obstacle stand in the way?

I absolutely devoured this book. I’m a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz so it’s no surprise that I ate this one up. I loved how this book was distinct and unique, yet still had elements from the classic tale.

The author does a really good job at providing vivid visuals as you go through the story. I really like the descriptive writing style and it really brought the story to life.

I had a blast following Drew and Ryder on their journey together to the Silver City. This was such a fun read and that twist and the ending has me needing the next book right away.

Thank you R.B. Hanna and team for allowing me to read your ARC - The Wizard of Silver, it release on April 21, 2026. I looking forward to read the 2nd book of this duology series. I know about the Wizard of Oz. This is a Wizard of OZ MM Retelling.

The book is good but the end of the book makes me want to know what happens next. So I really need the 2nd book. I don’t know if it called cliffhanger for the end part lol 😂😂 but it making me want the next book now to know. The plot and the character I like it.

Thank you RB Hanna and I can’t wait for that next book. I giving this a 4.5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ close to 5.

A huge thank you to R.B. Hanna for allowing me to read an advance copy of Wizard of Silver! This MM retelling of The Wizard of Oz was such a delightful and imaginative ride. The familiar magic is there, but with a fresh, sparkling twist that kept me hooked from start to finish. The world-building pulled me right in, and I found myself completely invested in Drew and his journey. And that ending?! Absolutely criminal in the best way 😄 I need the next part ASAP because I’m already desperate to know what happens next for our beloved Drew. Highly recommended for fans of retellings, magic, and heartfelt MM stories!

One of R. B. Hanna's greatest yet. This book is a quick read retelling of Wizard of Oz through an M/M lens. He really captured the world of Emberland, a place of intrigue and beauty. Drew and Ryder's lives become magically entwined by the iconic tornado and adventure you love from the original. Drew is the timid, soft gentleman who needs a little self confidence. Ryder is the strong, stoic and quiet type. I'd love to see more between the characters and am looking forward to Book 2 after that plot twist ending! Thank you again for the pleasure of reading this advanced copy, now set to publish February 17, 2026.

R.B Hanna did it again! This retelling of The Wizard of Oz was captivating! The details they wrote from the character descriptions to the details of the senses from the sights, smells, and taste makes you feel like you’re watching a movie and not reading a book. The references from the original makes it feel like you’re about to go in the same journey but with a twist. I can’t wait for the next one!

Do u need a mm romance wizard of oz retellling?
If so please go pick this up when it releases, Drew I’m just on quick minute his life is uprooted and changed and he’s taken to emberland 😍 a place nothing like Kansas.
This book was so beautiful and well written and after that ending I can’t wait for book 2.

I was so excited to read this ARC! The Wizard of Silver has heavy relations to the Wizard of Oz but R.B. Hanna was able to put their own personalized writing style into it. I really appreciated that it wasn’t mainly dialogue based and you got a lot of background information regarding the characters as well as the setting. I can’t wait to read more!
