Managed Paranoia - Book Three: The Series' Explosive Conclusion

Rate this book
When a distress signal reaches the GalaxSea, Hank Gunn knows Bella is in far more danger than the fractured message reveals. She’s been abducted by her ex-boyfriend—Gregory—a powerful criminal and cold-blooded psychopath who doesn’t take no for an answer.

Now drugged, isolated, and forced into a twisted mockery of marriage, Bella is held captive under constant threat. Her father’s life hangs in the balance, and her freedom is slipping away with every passing mile.

Hank, Olin Ou, and the crew of the GalaxSea act fast. With Ava—a near-sentient AI—and the full power of Olin’s cutting-edge technology, they set out to intercept Gregory’s luxury motor yacht. It’s an unthinkable task for a sailboat, but the GalaxSea has a few tricks left—and even an old ally is on the way. Brute force won’t be enough, but strategy, timing, and relentless resolve just might be.

What begins as a chase escalates into a series of daring operations. From precision infiltrations to explosive close-quarters combat, Hank and his allies push the limits of courage and invention to bring Bella home—and take Gregory down for good.

The Managed Paranoia trilogy ends with a final test—where faith, freedom, and survival are anything but certain.

I write books about faith, freedom and formation.
My fiction explores what happens when technology, power and conscience collide. The Managed Paranoia series follows ordinary, imperfect people caught in a near-future struggle against expanding government control, dangerous technology and systems that promise security at the cost of freedom.
My nonfiction work approaches many of those same questions directly. The Formation Protocol and the seven-volume Formation Series draw enduring lessons from history, philosophy and faith to help young people develop character, discipline, competence, conviction and purpose.

“Explosive” truly describes Managed Paranoia Book #3 from beginning to end. Be warned, if you read at bedtime you may end up reading ALL night. It is just too hard to put down. Each chapter just pulls you into the next one.
The power of government, incredible technology, what might happen as AI “grows”, an honest look as faithless Hank asks important questions…
This final book in the series ties the whole adventure up.

I really hated to see this series end... but, the ending is most satisfying and continues to be thought provoking. I love a book that sticks with me. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.

So good I had to stop reading the other two I was reading to finish this series. So many well developed characters and the right mix of suspense and action in this thrilling conclusion.

Thrillers are not my usual reading genre, but I read this series because a friend recommended it.
Finlay Beach does a great job developing likable characters, nautical dilemmas and the good and bad consequences of new technology. I didn't want to put the book down! This series ended with a premonition of hope for the characters I'd grown attached to.
