F.R. Burns The Vigilante’s Heart is precisely how it’s described to be—dark and suspenseful. I love how the author kept me wondering who the shmalker was throughout the story. Yet, it didn’t distract me from the obsession with how the MMC, Bennett, was feeling towards Peyton.

Bennett and Peyton’s “meet cute” is not the typical one. The Vigilante’s Heart is a dark romance for readers who enjoy dark romance. I loved their interaction and loved Bennett’s approach. The story is a novella, but a pretty hearty one. That is, I felt that Peyton and Bennett’s characters were well-developed, including Bennett’s background. And I enjoy insta-love, so it worked for me.

With Bennett and Peyton’s insta-love came lots of high spice and dirty talk from Bennett. The scenes were very steamy and very good. Viglante’s Heart was a winner for me!

Thankfully there’s a vigilante out there ridding the city of some cruel people and they’ve got their sights set on Peyton’s stalker as their next target. When Peyton’s stalker get’s a little too bold, she find herself calling for help to the one person she least expected - Bennett.
Bennett was enamoured by Peyton the moment he saw her, and with a stalker on the loose he’s determined to keep her close and safe. He is all alpha with a filthy mouth to boot, he’s possessive & protective especially with Peyton, though things aren’t all what they seem with Bennett, but one thing is for certain and that is that for Peyton he would burn down the world for her. Oh and buy her cat a life vest too - see he’s the whole package!

I loved Bennett and Peyton are such great characters you can't help cheering them on through the story. They have this sizzling chemistry right from the start. I loved that I was able to connect with both characters and they are very easy to relate to them.

I devoured this one in one reading session it was hard to put down and I didn't till the very last page. I loved every minute of The Vigilante's Heart and my only complaint is that I wasn't ready for it to end. The story is a perfect balance of story with just the right amount of spice. The author has done a beautiful job creating a captivating story.

I'm very much in my stalker dark romance era and this one was everything I hoped for and more. Highly recommend it's a quick swoonworth romance that I loved every moment of. I have her other book on my TBR and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. Added the author to my autobuy list.

Unfortunately, this one didn’t hit like I’d hoped. The mmc was unlikable which made it hard to care about the rest of story. He was obsessed but not in the sexy way, he just came off as pushy and entitled. I enjoyed the first book from this author, but this one just wasn’t for me!

This book is a short novella stalker romance. It has all the angst and build you want, as well as the fast passed easy to devour read that you can sneak if to your TBR before the end of the year. It was a perfect read for spooky season and I loved the little twist it through at the ending!

I am always a sucker for a possessive stalker MMC who will deductive logic his way to his possessive tendencies any day!

Peyton and Bennett are two people who cross paths because of some dark turn of events that puts Peyton in crossfires she doesn’t even realize she is in. Bennett is a billionaire security tech mongol who is trying to do better for his society and those in his community, but life throws you curve balls and the last thing he ever expected was to land eyes on the gorgeous Peyton and know that no one but him can keep her safe. Even if that means allowing someone close to him where he vowed never to again.

Peyton is a young hard working ER resident just trying to do her best and give back to a community that needs a little compassion. When she bumps into the arrogant Bennett the last thing she expects is for him to stay tearing down her walls and have her screaming him name (in all the best ways 🤭).

This spicey age gap keeps you wanting more and gives you it all! As well as the adorable cat baby and nicknames will have you hatting to love Bennett!

When you catch the wrong attention of someone sometimes you need the darker demon in the shadows to over shadow the ones already following you.

I was in the mood for a stalker dark romance, and that is exactly what I got. This short novella had so much to it for such a short story. This is a perfect read for someone who enjoys Dexter and You with lots and lots of spice. Did I mention a lot of spice? Be warned that it is dark in the best possible way!

I loved this book so much. It was on the shorter side, but didn’t feel like it because it was jam packed with all the action! I loved both of these characters and this story.

First off let me say, I think everybody needs a friend like Harry. Actually, no wait - perhaps not in real life as he'd end up getting you in trouble, for sure 😆👌

But dont worry... because in this instance, you've got Bennett to keep you safe. The only thing you'd have to watch out for with him is your virtue because this 6"4, pierced, filthy talking, alpha-hole should be illegal.

The whiplash from "who the f*ck does he think he is" to "please call me Mrs Miller" has me shook 😂

There is a storyline too, I swear! Very gripping. It will have you walking around the house trying to participate in life, while still reading 🙌

Side note : This book explores some dark themes so maybe familiarise yourself with those if you have triggers.

This was such a fun dark romance. And the cat stole the show. I laughed so hard. The story was fast paced and it kept pulling you in. There was a good mix with spice, banter and some action. So if your looking for a novella with these tropes I highly recommend this one!

Thank you so much F.R Burns for letting me ARC read this absolute masterpiece, I didn’t want to put it down and was absolutely obsessed with Bennett from the very first time that he made himself known but let’s be real who wouldn’t be obsessed with this man; he’s older, he’s dominant and he’s a protector which is the most attractive thing EVER! I loved that while this one was short, spicy and full of dark vibes that the plot kept me coming back for me and when I say that this read took over my brain that sentence alone feels like an understatement I don’t think there was a single second where I wasn’t thinking about reading - trying to read this during my train ride to work with a straight face was a challenge and I feel like I deserve a gold star for not giggling like a lunatic whenever I Bennett said the words ‘Sweet Girl’ I fear this doesn’t need an explanations 😮‍💨

Now while I loved Bennett I have to admit I adored Peyton she is such a badass and I aspire to be more like her, and getting to see a fellow career driven diva get her own prince of darkness was the best thing ever! Also seeing a man like Bennett slowly show his softer side to Peyton and Little D was adorable, there is something so cute about this 42 year old man becoming a cat dad that had me smiling so hard and who wouldn’t love Little D because he is the sweetest boy 🥹 I adored the character development for both Peyton and Bennett but especially slowly seeing Peyton learn to give over her need for control, even though Bennett’s ways of teaching her aren’t necessarily normal I loved the way that he gave his girl a space to just be herself without needed anything in return for it and seeing her let go when in his presence was beautiful. Seeing this man take care of his girl in the ways that she really needs even if she doesn’t know it was phenomenal and the way that this man truly saw Peyton without her saying a single word genuinely showed that Bennett is a man and not a boy 🥰

Overall, while this one was short and spicy I had the best time ever and I wish I read it again for the first time (a reread will absolutely be happening) - the connection and bond between Bennett and Peyton was so electric yet so wholesome, I adored the way that their relationship developed and the ending of their story was without a doubt one of the best I’ve read in a while and I am lowkey already getting withdrawals from these amazing characters, and it is now my mission to read every other F.R Burns books out there because I need more of her writing in my life ❤️

The Vigilante’s Heart is a dark romance novella. It has a content and trigger warning list that contains Torture, murder, dubious consent, stalking, reference to sex trafficking and kidnapping. If you have difficulties with these themes, I wouldn’t recommend this book.
This story follows Bennet, a man who has closed off his heart after experiencing a devastating trauma. In order to handle the way he feels about what happened in his past, he takes matters into his own hands, and decides to take out the trash of his city, one sick person at a time. When one of his targets’ begins the ritual, he decides to intervene to spoil his target’s plans. He never expected to fall for this woman.

This was a nice story, I enjoyed the plot and I would be love to read an extended version. The characters were likeable and relatable.
My only complaint was the spice, it seemed forced and a little rushed. There were times that I would have liked a few extra details, at one point I didn’t realize they were actually 👉🏼🤌🏼 . And there were times I kept getting bored. I found it hard to believe the chemistry between the characters, and maybe it’s a territory with Novella’s I haven’t read very many.
Overall, it was a good read, and I had a good time with the plot and characters as individuals. I would consider this as a gentle introduction to dark romance and all the genre has to offer.

Peyton has a job she loves, working at the hospital now as a doctor was something she worked hard to achieve. She knows somebody is watching her, she can just feel it, and it gives her chills. She's a very private person, she doesn't need a man, her best friend and her beloved cat is enough. Then he turns up, out of the blue, and she feels safe straightaway. Bennett runs a very prestigious security company, which is renouned throught the country. But he knows people are intimidated by his size and his serious demeanor. He doesn't date, he doesn't do relationships. Everything in his life his carried out by his rules. But he has a deeply hidden secret that he hides well. Until she ends up in the crosshairs and suddenly he's obsessed. He do what ever it takes to protect her. This is a gripping story that will have you feeling every emotion possible. With every turn of the page you realise that Bennett is a very complicated character and for all his flaws he will always protect those he loves. Can Peyton accept him without knowing everything. Will her independence be her undoing. Between the sweet cat he names little d, his rules, and the obvious chemistry, plus all the spice will it be enough. Or will Bennett lose everything. I loved everything about this story. Although I must admit it is a dark story with some subjects that will trigger some people. Ive not read this author before but I will certainly be reading more.

If there is something our girl, F.R. Burns can write is a good Age Gap Novella. This one however had so much more than a normal quick read. It had suspense, spice, and drama.

There is a killer on the loose but not to fear, the town has a vigilante that is taking care of things. When bodies start appearing in this small-town, one thing is for certain, the bodies are of criminals with haunting pasts. Bennett, our MMC who is going after these horrible men is spying on them as they are tracking their next target (victim). While doing so, he realizes the next victim is our FMC, Peyton and immediately he becomes obsessed with her. One day, while he is out stalking her, they meet at a local coffee shop and spark a conversation. He comes off strong and she is playing hard to get. Eventually the two hit it off quickly and begin a whirlwind romance. while things do look to be great for Bennett and Peyton, danger is still lurking because someone is still out to get Peyton.

Overall, this novella was everything I did not know I needed. The MMC may be a tad stalker but you will learn to love him along the way. The author also gives us a cute character that you will fall in love with immediately. Can't wait to have this book physically in my hands and highly recommend adding to your TBR.

This was the exact dark stalker romance I was in the mood for! "The Vigilante's Heart" is a short, fast-paced novella that I devoured in one sitting. It's packed with all the angst and build-up you could want in a "fast burn" romance, and I loved the little twist at the end.

Our FMC, Peyton, is a smart, beautiful, and hardworking ER resident who is perfectly happy with her life and doesn't need a man to complete it. Unfortunately, she's caught the attention of a very dangerous stalker.

Enter Bennett. 🔥
He's an arrogant, "all alpha" billionaire security mogul who is also a possessive vigilante, ridding the city of its cruelest people. He's shut himself off from love, but when he crosses paths with Peyton, he's instantly enamored. He becomes the "darker demon in the shadows" to protect her from her other stalker, and he's determined to keep her close and claim her as his. He's possessive, protective, has a filthy mouth, and is basically willing to burn the world down for her (and even buy her cat a life vest!).

This spicy age gap novella gives you exactly what you want and keeps you wanting more. If you're a sucker for a possessive MMC with deductive logic and a hero who falls first, you will love Bennett.

Strap in babes, we are going on an adventure!!!

If you need a shorter, spicy, fast paced book then this one is for you. F.R Burns caught my attention with her first book (ex boyfriends dad hellllooo yes please) then threw a switch into some dark romance and let me tell you, she doesn’t miss a beat.

Bennett is THE man. No one tells him no and he takes no other answers than the ones he wants. He gets what he wants and that is Payton. Ohhhh yeah…and he maybe erases bad guys from the earth, but it’s for the greater good so it’s okay. He is obsessed, hot, demanding, secretly soft & sweet but you should change the batteries in your smoke alarm because he sets the bedroom on fire.

Peyton is strong and independent but something about Bennett makes her putty in his hands (the bod…the pierced D…the yacht..maybe all of it) Poor girl gets put through it but damn I loved the way he showed up for her at every step even when she didn’t ask for it. Her best friend Harry had the right ideas, he knew red flags were hot.

Will be praising this book to anyone who will listen. Because perfection!!!!!!

This book had me hooked from start to finish—laughing, screaming, and even tearing up with a mix of joy and sadness.

Payton is an ER doctor, content with her life as it is, surrounded by her best friend and her adorable kitten, D'Artagnan. But her peaceful world is shattered when she becomes the target of a dangerous stalker.

Bennett is a billionaire who closed his heart a decade ago, harboring a big secret. The moment he meets Payton, his heart begins to beat again, awakening a protective and possessive side he thought he'd buried.

I’ll admit, if I met Bennett in real life, I’d probably slap him. His arrogance is off the charts, and for him, the word "NO" is often just a suggestion. Yet, his intense desire to protect and love Payton makes him impossible to resist.

I loved this book—the tender moments, the steamy scenes, and the powerful message that even a strong, independent woman can choose to let go and be cherished by a man who sees her as the most precious thing. And, of course, D'Artagnan—aka Little D—with his life-saving vest from “daddy” Bennett, is simply adorable.

This novella reads like a full novel! Bravo! 👏🏼 This is my first time reading F.R. Burns, and it certainly won't be my last! The character growth, the tension, the suspense, the drama! Had me out here like 👀😰😱🤯🫣😭🥹💛. ALL the feels!

Bennett and Peyton have this intensity about them. They get together QUICK, though Peyton definitely fights her feelings for Bennett. Meanwhile, he's full steam ahead! Bennett is so deliciously morally grey, he's possessive, and so attentive to her needs. And Peyton is an incredible, intelligent, and independent woman! As an ER doctor, she can truly take care of herself!

With a Vigilante on the loose, taking out dangerous men, who will be his next target? The darkness of this storyline kept me absolutely hooked, I couldn't put it down!

And a character who stole my heart? D'artagnan, sweet baby boy of a cat! I could hear his lil' chirps and purrs everytime Peyton got home!

The spice is so well done in this novella, and there's a lot of it too! For having a 16 year age gap, Bennett has NO problem with his drive. 😉 Ugh and PIERCED?! Say less, I'm obsessed! 🙌🏼

Vigilantes Heart is exactly what I needed to read. It was the perfectly spicy red flag read to help shake me out of the hold the last book I read had on me. It was a really fast-paced book, which was good cause a lot was packed in. There were a few moments when my jaw dropped at what I had read. Honestly, it was so good! She's a super spicy read, but oh, was it delicious spice, and I thought it was balanced out well between everything else going on.

Bennett, our MMC, was a man obsessed, so obsessed, he had so many feet kicking in glee moments and has very strong Dom vibes without being labeled that. The lengths he went to to protect Payton were extreme, but ya girl needed it!! I just loved him.

Payton, our FMC, was very strong and bright and was a really good fmc until she made a dumb decision but can't hold it against her for reasons I can't say. I am glad, though, that she jumped right in with Bennett. She gets put through it during this story and, by the end, really deserved her HEA!!

Vigilantes Heart was just a really good, quick spicy read!

Hot d*mn is this book good! Bennett and Peyton and so freaking hot together and I love how protective Bennett is of Peyton. This read has a little of everything! You want suspense, stalking, funny side characters, man obsessed, independent FMC, and loads of hot s*x? This is the book for you. It was so good!

This novella certainly packed a lot into it!
I was hooked from the very beginning and omg towards the end well that was definitely a rollercoaster.

Bennett lives a secret life as a vigilante removing people who do terrible things from existence, when he comes across Peyton.
He instantly becomes obsessed and will do whatever it takes to keep her safe making that very obvious from the beginning with her.
She turns to him in her hour of need and quickly realises that he’s her safe place despite not knowing him for long.

This book was described as a novella but it was a good length which allowed for development of characters and plot and it was as good as any full length novel I’ve read.
Bennett has some of those red flags I like; morally grey and possessive with stalkerish tendencies. He is immediately obsessed with Peyton and goes to any length to try and keep her safe. He doesn’t give her much of an option and refuses to take “No” for an answer. Their chemistry is immediate and definitely rises the temperature of the book and, oh, the spice!
D’artagnan and Harry are worthy side characters. It didn’t take long for D’artagnan to worm his way under Bennett’s skin and win him over and Harry brings some lighter moments to the book.
The book is full of action, fast paced with suspense and tension added in. Danger is always lurking around the corner. I was constantly on the edge of my seat, not being able to turn those pages fast enough!

WOW, she did it again! Faye's writing is magical; the way she writes keeps you captivated from start to finish.

Bennett & Peyton's story is filled with mystery, twists, tension and so much spice that you will need a cold shower after reading this.

Bennett takes the award for the most obsessed man ever; there isn’t anything he won’t do for Peyton.
His protectiveness, the way he takes care of her made me swoon.

Peyton is independent, a badass woman who will steal your heart from the beginning. She is such a relatable character.

This novella has a little bit of everything, mystery, romance, steamy moments and I loved every minute of it. The spice was scorching, the mystery kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t stop reading.
Just do yourselves a favor and add this to your TBR!

One word; obsessed and that describes me when I picked up this novella and also Bennett the MMC!!!

If you want a completely obsessed MMC who literally is consumed by the FMC then Bennnett is the one for you and he is absolutely perfect. I loved him!!!! I mean there are various red flags there but he is great!!! And who doesn’t like a MMC who is serving justice 😂.

I desperately want to be friends with Peyton. She is smart, funny and I feel like you would have the most fun with her too. Despite how obsessive Bennett is she still holds her own and has her own boundaries too.

This is a novella but it is not short on plot or the 🌶️ either - so much happens, there are loads of twists and @frburnsauthor manages to cram so much in - absolutely amazing.

I had so much fun with this book and devoured it. If you love your romance dark, protective, and sexy with a side of danger… this is your next obsession.

Phew, this was a spicy one! Bennett takes obsessed and unhinged to a whole new level. I loved the connection between the two main characters and how Bennett protected Peyton with his life.

Bennett is a businessman by day and a vigilante by night. When he sees Peyton, he knows he’ll do anything to make her his. This man stops at nothing to make Peyton fall in love with him. Not only is he head over heels in love with Peyton but boy does he know how to worship her.

I loved Peyton as she’s a caring and down to earth doctor. She fights the feelings that she starts to feel for Bennett until she can’t anymore. The connection these two had was so hot and passionate. She begins to love him just as fiercely as he loves her.

This is my first Time reading this author and definitely won't be my last time.

This book is a spicy treat novella and I couldn't put it down I was hooked.

I loved everything about this book although it was dark it was amazing and had me on the edge of my seat on every page wanting more.

The spice was off the charts and oh daddy had me melting in my seat 🥵🥵
