Ahzii Rose was once a flame that lit up every room—radiant, wild, unforgettable. Until love burned her alive. One night shattered her world, leaving only ashes where her family and heart used to be. Now she moves through life untouched and untouchable—cold, dangerous, and ready to destroy anything that threatens the fragile peace she’s rebuilt.
Until she crosses paths with the one man born to kill her demons.
Savior “Khaos” Carter is a ghost in the streets. Untouchable, unpredictable, and deadly quiet until it’s too late. By day, he wears the polished mask of a businessman; by night, he commands storms no one sees coming. An assassin with no conscience, a leader feared for the chaos he leaves behind. Emotionless. Merciless. Built to destroy anything in his path. But when Ahzii crashes into his world, he sees what no one else dares to, her light buried beneath the ashes.
But fire and chaos can’t touch without leaving scars.
In a world where trust gets you killed and love burns deeper than betrayal, will they destroy each other—or rise from the ruins stronger than before?
Ann you're so talented, the level of emotions you evoke from us is crazy. I was stressed reading this! Ahzii took me through it, cause how you gone believe a ghost over the man who has been by your side. It was so easy for her to just believe William instead of questioning why he let her grieve for a year without coming to her aid. It had me heated, especially when Ahzii kept keeping secrets that could have helped them capture his crazy tail sooner. Also I really didn't like that William got so much storytelling, it took away from Ahzii and Savior and their story especially towards the end it felt rushed.
OMG!!! Savior is unhinged and romantic, from the first time he laid eyes on Rose he knew she was the one for him. He knew she had pain and just wanted to bring some joy and shine back into her life. The fact that Rose had two solid people in her life and one being her twin was a bonus. I could not stand William and I’m happy he got what he deserved, the best part was that it came from Rose. This is the first book I’ve read from Ann Modkins but I’ll definitely be reading more from her catalogue.
This book was an emotional roller coaster. You have to be patient and go through all of the emotions and you can feel Anzii’s pain as she goes through the grieving process. Savior went hsd a rough childhood and through Anzii’s pain he saw her and she saw him. It was beautiful to watch her overcome so much and find her peace again. Definitely would recommend but it’s a slow burn in my opinion with a beautiful outcome.
Whew y’all!!😍😍This book was everything!! The realness. The rawness of it had me in my feelings!! Two tortured souls finding healing and love through all the pain in their lives. Savior is HIM!! The way he poured love and life into allure needs to be studied!! If you haven’t read a book by Ann Modkins I highly suggest ROSE as your first book to read!!
Ann is quickly becoming a name I routinely search for when I need a new book to read. I read Solace first and greatly enjoyed it. While this book had some heavy topics, it was packed with love. Savior was so patient with Ahzii and Azhii didn't wait too long to accept her second chance at TRUE love.
This story was everything. The characters were amazing. I love the mystery, intrigue but most of all I love the love Savior showed . We all need a Savior in our lives. Savior showed is love by actions and not just lip service.
It’s was a bit of a slow burn. Knew something wasn’t right from the beginning. Rose seems kind of slow and got on my last nerve. The love story was good. Real, steady love.
Now Ahzii…..girl now you know…..and you should’ve known….. but whatever. my favorite part of this book was the journey of healing . in denial then acceptance . the journey was worth reading
Savior did not play about his Allure. His methods may have been unhinged but they both deserved all of the Love they stored up for each other. Definitely did not expect some of the twists but it made for an even better story.
This book was really well written. Many parts of this book make you say "why didn't he/she" lol. Although I had a lot of "why didn'ts, I really enjoyed this book
Typically a character like Ahzii would have me annoyed but loved her character development. I enjoyed the ending even more. Looking forward to more books from Ann!
