The aliens won't give up and Hell wants its due. Having fought off the Vorsook multiple times, Earth's heroes are looking to end the war in a decisive way, while Hell's demons circle like sharks smelling blood in the water. One world facing off with an ancient interstellar species that has conquered almost five thousand planets and the Fallen Angels of Hell. But the defenders of this world are Chris Gordon, Declan O'Carroll, Tanya Demidova and Stacia Reynolds, the quantum super computer Omega. Who would you bet on?
For the fans of the Demon Accords series, here is the end.
I'm the Urban Fantasy author of the Demon Accords series. For more information, check out my website or follow me on Facebook at the Demon Accords page.
But it was a bloody lazy way to end it & so many other characters like Caeco were missing or not mentioned. I appreciate the length & depth of the series but there was something missing from this book that all the others had.
The finale of the Demon Accords series and Mr Conroe really stuck the landing. Lots of old familiar characters make appearances, and l must say l'm quite disappointed in Roma, Chris's old commanding officer when he was a cop.
All of the loose strings are tied in neat little bows.
This has been my favorite book series for almost as long as he has been writing it and it was a good ending to a very, very good series. I will be rereading this series for years and years and years.
The last couple of books were really good, but this final entry really disappointed me. It didn't make much attempt to tie off many of the plot points raised in the previous two books, or even those raised in this book!
What I expected and didn't see:
* The outcome of Declan and Stacia's story, after all the buildup with his changed appearance and desire to fade from the public eye. So they have a child now, so what? Is that an ending? What about the "centrioles" problem brought up by Caeco's mother? Is Declan dying? Do we care? * The outcome of Chris and Tanya's story, and Barbiel's. What was even their reason to be self-fallen? * The follow-up from the epilogue of Blood Cull, with the Queens of Faerie plotting against Earth and Declan.
* Some equilibrium reached between Gaia, Omega, and the culled Earth population. Do the nations learn to work together, or remain at war over diminished resources? I presume the Vorsook get strongarmed into a ceasefire, but how do the Earthlings react? * Why all the buildup of US government and politicians trying to prosecute Declan and Stacia? It goes absolutely nowhere and we have no clue where it goes after that. * The Twofer solution for the Vorsook and Hell is clever and potentially exciting and fun, but appears to have no effect on either of them. After it, Hell remains unhappy and aggressive, so do the Vorsook. And we hear about the effects third-hand, so the excitement is really toned down. It really ends up being a non-event. Both of them require even more drastic measures afterward. * Chris narrates every other chapter but nothing actually happens in his chapters! * Some purpose for the Coven. Any purpose at all. Vampires can't or won't go to the new planet, but they don't really have much to do on Earth. Or do they? Who knows?
All in all, the last book seemed choppy, more episodic than usual, with each episode being shorter and less interesting and less conclusive than usual.
Declan, Stacia, Chris and Tanya are now all overpowered and their enemies are basically intimidated or vanquished. That's nice, but now they have no real purpose on earth, they've pissed off most world leaders as well as those of Hell, and their remaining time on the planet will be spent... raising kids?
It sounded more like a setup for the next series than an ending, honestly.

And with BloodlinesThe Demon Accords comes to an end. What began as a fun story about a cop and a vampire morphed over the years to the Declan show. This book is no different. Sure, there were so well-deserved comeuppance issued to the politicians. But even as I was saying, “Yes!” Chris was explaining why it was the wrong tactic. I said a few books back that Declan is now akin to a god. This book showed how true a statement that was. There was very little action, the first coming finally coming at 3/4 of the way through. Mostly, the book read like one long field manual. I still love the series, but this book will doubtfully ever be read again. The little bits here and there of call-outs to past characters are not worth the boredom of the rest. Having the book jump back and forth between Decland and Chris’ perspectives is another. This should have been third person.
So, with a total of 28 books (all of which I own), I would say that having only three books get 3-star ratings is a pretty good indicator that overall, the years of reading The Demon Accords was time well spent.
I read tons of Urban Fantasy, and one of my favorite elements is how the author decides on the interaction of modern people and technology with the supernatural. This series brings the relationship of supernaturals and modern tech to a whole new level! How deep the story goes with science, government, and real human emotions and interaction with the supernatural world. By far, John Conroe relates the most realistic approach of any author I've read! And, the plot lines are so superb, I can't put this book down! Amazingly real characters, nonstop unpredictable plot twists, emotional growth, superbly written dialogue, and a fallible MC you want to route for! In fact, the only negative of this series is how it has effected my sleep! I;m up all night reading these nonstop pager turners! Thank you John, you master word-smith!
I've read this book a couple of times now to make sure I hadn't missed anything. It's absolutely setting up for the new series of tales you're writing. However, as the final chapter of the Demon Accords, it was pk, good even, but I wanted more. I was hoping for a grand ending. A major battle with Chis Declan and all against evil, similar to the fights in earlier novels. Instead, it's an AI directing and narrating a battle far away with little or no input from the others. Based on this I am looking forward to you new series I just wish the 21st novel of a great series that brought me back to books was more about the Accords
Hmmm.... Yes, very enjoyable read. Actually, from start to finish. I did not put it down even for the toilet and food breaks . The storyline is bold, entertaining and thoroughly rivetting. Ok at the end I was expecting a little more of a profound finish to it all, it felt half hearted, but the other 99% was rather good. I am actually going to re-read it tomorrow, not tonight as I'm a bit pooped and need a nap. I've been reading for 6.5 hours, sod pooped, I'm knackered. Please do read it though and if like me, please give a shout out to Johnny boy.... ENCORE, just one more please ?
To start, a big Thank You to Mr. Conroe. These stories have been a real pleasure to read. This story, 'Bloodlines' is a good stopping point for the current timeline. Most everyone lives and the Vorsook get their butts kicked. There are many points I would have enjoyed to see expanded upon but the book would be another 500 pages long. Another 50 stories, ala the Doc Savage series, would be great but that's neither here nor there. I look forward to the next series Mr Conroe writes.
The last book of a long series. Kudos to Conroe for evolving the story. He ties up a lot of subplots with this book mostly successfully. Our original story of a cop who turns out to be an amnesiac angel ends up as the support mechanism for bringing forth the steward of the earth who puts things to right in much of the multiverse, quite a stretch. The series perhaps has lost some of its charm with the introduction of the near invincible Declan as steward, but worth the read for devoted fans.
I absolutely loved this series. It is fast paced, constant action, with something for everyone; demons, elves, weres, angels, dragons, and advanced AI...Oh, My! I have followed this whirlwind of a tale since the beginning and can't recommend it enough. The ending isn't as smooth as I would have hoped. It felt very rushed, like he had to meet a deadline, and ended up leaving cliffhangers for both major battles, but with the spin off series, I have high hopes that he will explain things better then.
Ugh I wish it didn’t have to end! I love this series!
A great conclusion to a great series by Mr Conroe. The story this time is very fast paced with action happening at almost every chapter. It’s going to be tough to say goodbye to some of my favorite characters but I’m excited to hear that some may make a cameo in the new series Expansion. Now I only have to wait till that book comes out!
This has been one of my favourite, and most repeated read series ever! I am very sad to see it end, I have always enjoyed Declan's arcs in particular, so I am very happy to know that there is a legacy series and hope to see the family again.
What a brilliant conclusion, flawless writing, and such a gripping storyline that made me lose sleep happily.
Closure in all the necessary areas, and a nice teaser for what's to come. This story is told by alternating Chris and Declan, just like Declan's internship when he came into his own and rose to prominence. The conclusion was perhaps not as final as some may have hoped - villains still remain though much diminished.
Along with significant setup for the new series, there was also considerable foreshadowing in areas that will become relevant in future books.
Waiting for this book was painful. But well worth it. I've already read it twice and will probably read it again in a week. May reread the entire series.
Really enjoyed every book and your writing style (some authors books are easier reads than others). Can't wait to see how you continue the next generations story.
A great story as always, I imagined how difficult it was to finish such a compelling storyline. Never imagined the White Wolf giving birth to. I look forward to reading the forthcoming book. God Touched such a wonderful story to start the series with Bloolines at the end.
I love this series so much. I enjoyed this book so much I don’t have words. I can’t wait for the next generation to get on set. I won’t tell spoilers but if you don’t read this book and love this series you’re crazy. I have purchased every book and have yet to be disappointed. Please keep it coming.
I have genuinely loved every one of the Demon Accord books and I shall really miss the series. I look forward to the new series and the teaser for Expansion at the end of this book has definitely got my attention!
This was a nice conclusion to the Demon Accords. It told a good story at a nice pace and provided plenty of action. I am excited to see how the new series in this world goes.
What an amazing book! I absolutely loved this book and I am sorry to see the end of this series! I started when there was only 3 books out and I can not wait to see this next series!
I hate that the series ended. But how it ended was fantastic. I hope that the characters will be visited again soon, but I am really looking forward to more stories from this universe. Enjoy.
This is a great book and ending for one of my favorite series. I have enjoyed and reread them many times. I have high hopes for the follow series sampled at the end of this book.
The whole pissed off with Declan for summoning the politicians to a TV show while Chris and Tanya's kids were there was monumentally stupid (Declan's actions were perfectly reasonable), but that crap didn't last long and it was a good finale to the series.

If you have never read any of the Demon Accords book, get to it! Start T the beginning and prepare for a fantastic ride. Bloodlines is a worthy completion of this series. Enjoy!
Its bittersweet to say goodbye. I loved Chris and Declan and their stories. I would’ve given a five, but there are a few typos here and there that needed to be caught by an editor. Other than that, a good, although it felt rushed, send off.
