This is my first read by the author but it definitely will not be my last. It's also my first Rock Star book and I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed Blair and West story. Blair was looking for a distraction and West was looking for a connection. Blair was looking for an escape from her boring and mundane life she came upon a bar called Dark. Dark is where she met Mr. Dark and Dangerous that was suppose to be a one night stand with no names or strings attached.
West is a member of the band Affliction he started it. Blair ends up going on tour with West and what accompanies Bands? Drama drama and more drama, West is like the guy you love to hate, and hate to love all rolled into one. They both have baggage as they try to see where things can go. But with secrets sabotage and betrayal everything ignites, will they get a happy ever after?
I recommend this book it is a quick and easy read the author did a great job.
I’ve got used to authors splitting their stories between multiple books and so the length of this story never bothered me.
I find Ms Cross can actually fit a lot of story and character into even a short book. This book was no exception. Extremely well written and totally hot, hot hot.
I enjoyed reading about a feisty girl. She wasn’t a pushover. She wasn’t wanting hearts and flowers and romance. All she wanted was a convenient fuck when she wanted it. At times she may have come across as a little too much but when you delve deeper into her past, you see exactly why she is the way she is.
Typical hot alpha male except this time, he’s up against quite an opponent!!
Loved this, looking forward to the next part.
Unexplainable
Love could be so easy for these two. They could have had their HEA but both are so damaged, so broken that I don't think they know how to put the past to bed and move on.
There are more downs than ups in this book as things don't work out as either imagined. I felt so sad for Blair when it seemed like she hadn't even had a friend before.
I love the writing style of MS Cross. I love how she weaves tragedy that tugs at the heartstrings.
I have no choice but to continue with this series because my heart is definitely with Blair.
Unintended
So after his huge fuck ups in the previous book, West is now the one seeking Blair out. This is a story about a man who had it all, lost it all and is now on a path to redemption to win back what he wants in his life.
I have really enjoyed this short trilogy. Despite each book being short, there's so much back story about how these two characters became so fucked up. I really felt I could empathise with them both. They both had their moments where I loved them and then hated them and then loved them again.
When your demons are addictions, there is only one person who can heal you and that's yourself. Maybe West relied too much on Blair to be his salvation. Losing her and having to fight his darkness to win her back was the best thing he could have been made to do.
I love Ms Cross' style of writing. She writes a damn good hot scene, she does dual POV's effortlessly and her story flows from book to book.

"Real life isn't like the movies. It isn't full of serendipity moments and true love."
I fell in love with Blair she is a sassy gritty leading lady that has no expectations apart from life sucks! Working a dead end job barely making ends meet she takes the edge of by using strangers for one night stands. Raised by a violent dad, witnessing her mother's being beaten, Blair has lived at the bottom of the pile all her life. No aspirations no hope. Going to a bar named Dark her life suddenly takes a different road...
West, the lead singer of Affliction, is also at a personal low. Dealing with his addictions the pressure of being young, rich and talented has left him feeling empty. Every one wants a little piece of him and he feels he is nothing but a stereotype. Looking to get lost for a wee while he finds himself looking for a connection.
And so begins the intense, emotionally charged cat and mouse game between these two very dominant characters. Both are used to getting their own way, and the path to compromise is a hard one. Dealing with the fame and the pressure is all new to Blair and not something that comes easily. The lifestyle and the demands of the fans are shown vividly and that is what makes this a stand out rockstar read.
The plot twists and turns, with treachery fueled by greed West reaches his rock bottom then battles to reclaim all that is lost. I am so glad this was released as a complete story as each part is quite a short read and I have no patience to wait to read more. It is fast paced, exciting and filled with can't wait another second type of sexual charge that in no way diminishes throughout the story. The pull between the characters is fundamental to their relationship as West has an addictive personality so Blair becomes his new addiction...but is she enough?!?
This was my first read from Amity Cross. Wow!! How I loved the story of Jake West and Blair Hayden. These two characters they both have things from their past that have closed them off to trusting someone and opening up. Jake West "Dark and Dangerous" "He was hot. Smoking, knee-weakening, pussy-throbbingly hot." His character definitely made me weak in the knees. Blair Hayden "Wildcat" she is a girl that knows what she want, she takes No ones crap, she has a mouth on her, she is a bitch. But there is just something about the two of them that makes them click. From the very beginning their chemistry was smoking HOT! What started from a one night stand. NO names, NO string. Just wanting to hide the noise, take the edge off. Ended up being so much more. They both were so used to getting what they wanted in bed. They loved to take control and dominate their partner for the night, but when you have two strong personalities who is gonna win and take control? It was different this time, it was like nothing they experienced with ANYONE before.
I recommend this trilogy. I didn't want to put these books down. You want to read this and get stuck on their rollercoaster of a love story and their steamy fighting make up sex.
Do they have enough to get through it all? Are you team West or team Blair? The three books will have you going back and forth I definitely did. You want to believe West is different and he's not going to hurt Blair. But Blair how can you not root for her? She has had so much heartache in life that has made her put up some high walls. She has never felt this way before and takes a chance. Do you stick around when he has hurt you already? Do you ever really know if the choice you make is the right one?

He kissed me like I was his lifeline and all it did was scare the hell out of me. “You won't regret it,” he whispered against my mouth, before kissing me again. I didn't know what it was he was looking for, but whatever it was, he obviously thought I was it. Either he was fucking insane or I was blind.
Part Two ~ Unexplainable
“I don't know if I can handle your life. I was nothing. I was nobody. Everyone wants you. I'm afraid I'm not enough for all of this.” “I know it's hard. We're both learning, but we need to do it together.” “How can you be so calm about this?” “Fuck, I'm freaking out just as much as you are, beautiful.” “I don't believe you.” “I want you to be mine. Whatever it takes.”
Part Three ~ Unintended
My body cared about him, but my heart wanted to bitch slap him from here into next year. What use was caring for someone if you couldn't trust them? I didn't want mindless fucking anymore. I didn't want mindless anything. I wanted to fill my heart up with someone and them to fill theirs with me in return, but all I seemed to get was a hollow ache.
★✩★✩★ 5- the dark side of Rock Fame- Stars ~this review may contain minor spoilers~
this unexplainable thing between West and I was worth the risk. Worth the fucking assholes printing stupid shit about us in the papers and hounding us for photos. Worth the groupies trying to grab his cock in front of me. It was worth it, because at the end of the day, West was mine and I was his.
It was only supposed to be a one-night stand. She was only looking for an escape from her crap life, a way to numb the pain. He was looking for a connection, for someone to see past who he was. But they both got way more than they bargained for as two damaged people find the one other person to make them feel for the first time. But a love like theirs comes at a price; the road is far from easy as one battles their urge to run and the other replaces one addiction for another, media vultures are all up in their business, groupies are constantly throwing themselves between them and those they thought they could trust go out of their way to keep them apart. With everything working against them, how will they ever find the happy ending they both so desperately need?
“I don't know what it fucking was last night, but you brought me back to life.” What the fuck? How could I bring someone back to life? Plain, nothing, nobody Blaire Hayden? This guy was in a fucking hot as hell rock band with the world at his feet and he wanted me? Was he fucking high?
Now this is exactly how I like my romances ~ gritty, raw, dirty, damaged, foul and slightly screwed up. From start to finish these two had my complete attention. West broke my heart with his desperate need to just connect with someone, to be seen as more than just a rock star that everyone wants a piece of. Blaire was... well she could be a pain in the ass. She did grab a hold of a piece of my heart, and I did feel for her-she did have some crap luck in life, but boy did that girl frustrate the shit outta me at times. I did however love her mouth, I though I cussed like a sailor but she put me to shame. I'm glad that I came across this series in trilogy form, with the way the books left off -especially part two, I think I would have gone completely crazy waiting for the next part. Being able to read them back to back was pretty damn addicting; lots of drama, a whole lotta crazy-hott-angry sexy, plenty of angst and tears as well as some heartbreak and redemption. It was a helluva journey, one I would recommend to anyone who likes a little bit of pain with their romance, one that landed Amity Cross firmly on my One-Click-Addiction List and I cannot wait to see what she brings us next.
I'd been fighting it every step of the way, afraid I'd lose what little of myself I had, but I couldn't deny it anymore. I'd fallen completely and utterly for Jake fucking West. This was no longer just about sex.
I'd never heard of Amity Cross until a request for review for a blog tour came in and the blurb intrigued me. When I looked 'Unexpected' up on Amazon the warning; This book is EROTIC ROMANCE and contains a lot of descriptive sex, strong language, lickable rock stars and one a** kicking female lead, sold me completely so I signed up!
So, did it match up to the blurb and warning expectations I had?
In many ways yes……………………..
I liked her writing style, the book is full of profanity and descriptive sex but doesn't feel superfluous or overdone. Her characters are warts and all real, I particularly like Blair - a sassy smart ass who takes no shit off anyone - my type of gal!
One down and out woman. One isolated rock star. Life at the top is lonely, but so is life at the bottom. Blair is just looking for someone to take the edge off her crappy life. Dull the pain, breathe a little life into her neglected body. A chance meeting at a bar leads to a night of passion. No names, no personal details. Just sex. Well, it wasn't personal until she sees the guy standing on a stage ten meters in front of her. How the hell didn't she realize that the guy who blew her mind is the guitarist out of that dirty rock'n'roll band, Affliction? And why is he chasing her down the street? And how does he know her name? Sometimes you find the things you didn't even know you were looking for in the most unexpected places.
When Blair and West meet she just wants to scratch an itch and escape real life for a while so even though it's phenomenal and the chemistry is off the charts hot it's just a fuck, nothing more, nothing less. She doesn't expect to come face to face to him when attending a concert, and sure as hell doesn't expect him to chase her!
He was hot. Smoking, knee-weakening, pussy-throbbing hot.
She's feisty, sassy, rude and abrupt - but the exterior is hiding the lonely girl wanting a purpose to life and someone to share it with while never believing that’s a reality she will have.
West is the bad boy rocker who has addiction issues, at times he's a prick you want to stab and then at others he's so vulnerable and broken you want the glue to put him back together. From that first night he feels a connection he wants to explore with Blair. Left high and dry but with a plan to seek her out he's surprised to see her at the concert but determined to take advantage of an opportunity.
Dark and Dangerous & Wildcat do not have a perfect rock star god meets pretty girl story. It's rocky, it's broken completely in places and it was a page turner all the way through with no skimming.
“I'm a bitch because I can't be bothered trying anymore. Not when my efforts are rewarded with being treated like trash. Someone to be used, fucked and tossed out the morning after. My entire attitude might be seen as a cop-out, but I was so fucking tired of clawing my way out of the shit pile. People get to a point where they can't take anymore. Hope, faith and all that...I've learnt the hard way just to let it go. Some people don't get their happy ending, no matter how deserving they are or aren’t. Real life's a bitch and so am I.”
So why a 4 star not 5 star read?
The foreplay was phenomenal, an orgasm was had but no multiples!!! The last part of the book felt rushed, tied up with a pretty bow, but did a disservice to the rest I felt - it left me a little "meh, was that it?" as opposed to "OMFG". It's a good book and I’d read more by this author. I love the unapologetic characters, I love the profanity, I love the hot sex, I just needed a little more for the finale and that multiple......
**I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review**
Well, that was one hell of a fiery, charged and unbelievably raw trip. This book is originally 3 separate novella length stories, the trilogy put together made this full length book. I was extremely lucky to be able to read this combined edition, if I had been reading them separately, it would of been hard ending the story each time. Those individual parts ended on some shocking bits, and luckily this edition just ran straight through. Which I think made it a smooth and an intense novel in full. West. Frontman of the band Affliction, is searching for something. Although he seems to have looked in all the wrong places, from booze bottles to drugs to women. He is a mess and lacking some sort of connection in his life. Blair. Feisty, and wild is looking to escape her self and her life. She tries to do this through meaningless encounters until one such encounter ends up changing everything. West and Blair seem to be hell bent on riding through life the only way they know how. They are both quite self destructive in totally different ways, yet one thing that links them both is a need. The need to be cared for and wanted for who they really are. Although neither is very good at admitting things. Blair tries not to let West in, she runs and hides but this time West wants more and West will fight for her. It was such an emotional background, although it was made edgy and raw by the constant heat between them. They bounce off each other with their sharp wit and the tour scene is full on, yet beneath it all they are another couple trying to make things work and there is a lot of things thrown in their path. Right from the start I knew it wouldn't be a normal romance with some good sex scenes thrown in. The hard edge and tough attitude of Blair was funny and addictive to follow. She never messes about, she will tell it exactly how it is and that was really refreshing. There is still the intense and smoking hot sex between them, but the atmosphere the rest of the time is still just as charged. I loved how different Blair and West were from any characters I have read recently. Especially Blair, I did feel sorry for her, so many times. But I loved just how strong she was and wouldn't take any crap from anyone. It was funny and kept me glued to the story. Of course, fantastic ending! I was gripped right till the last few pages, waiting to see what the outcome would be. I wasn't disappointed, the ending was exactly as I hoped it would be and much more! Fantastic Book! Really enjoyed this!
This author is new for me and I have to tell you that I will be keeping her on my list of author’s to read. I’m usually a little apprehensive in checking new authors out, but I go with my gut after reading the synopsis of the book. So far, it hasn’t steered me wrong yet.
It’s got a hot, rock star with tattoos and a girl that pretty much keeps to herself because that’s all she has and can depend on. She’s learned to survive and get by. But one night at a bar, planning on a one night hook-up, she meets “Dark and Dangerous”.
Blair Hayden has a job as a receptionist at a tattoo shop, barely makes ends meet and definitely doesn’t want anything more than one-night. She likes it that way. Makes her less vulnerable and anything more would mean leaving herself open to being hurt and left alone. Just like it’s always been. I admired her strength. She’s hard, tough and also has a smart, dirty mouth. She tells it like it is and doesn’t sugarcoat anything.
Jake West is the lead singer of the band Affliction. They are pretty well known and on a break when Jake meets Blair in a bar. He’s been out of rehab for a few months and still working on dealing with some inner issues. Their chemistry is instant from the beginning. They are both at the bar for one thing and one thing only. No names are exchanged either. But fate has other plans for these two. And you have to get through the hard, rough patches and the times that test your faith before the sun shines bright again.
“If it wasn’t for her scent sticking on my skin and the claw marks all over my chest and back, I would’ve sworn that woman was a ghost. She was the most dangerous downward spiral of them all and I’d enjoyed every single second of it.” ~ West
I am a sucker for romances that are totally unexpected. The pulls and pushes and heart wrenching moments just get to me. The Unexpected Trilogy sure delivered everything I want in a book that’s placed in my hands. The characters were real and believable to me. The storyline flowed perfectly, too. It was hot at times and other times I wanted to crinkle the pages. But it was my Kindle, so that wouldn’t have worked out. I highly recommend checking this author out!
I recieved my copy through The Book Enthusiast promotions in exchange for honest review.
In this book we meet blare, aka wildcat. She has been through so much and as a result has built a protective front. She uses people for what she wants, no strings, no commitment. Just the way she likes it that way she can't get hurt!!
West, aka dark & dangerous. The front man of the successful band; Affliction. He can have his pick of women and God he knows it. He is cocky, confident & has an air about him That women just can't ignore.
After meeting in a bar, the two head back to west's hotel. Blare is makes clear that this is a one night thing, she doesn't want to know his name, his background, this is to be sex and nothing else. The pair share and explosives, hot night of passion. Blare is eager to leave, but upon west's request stays a while. as soon as she gets the chance she heads for the hills. The fantasy gone and again she was just plain blare. But it would appear that isn't to be. In the rush to leave blare left behind her ID. Seeing her picture awakens thoughts of last night for west. He felt a connection last night, he needs to see blare again.
This trilogy is HOT from early on. The storyline is fast paced and I was completely sucked in. I feel in love with both blare and west. Each had their individual struggles that I'm sure a lot of people can relate to. You find yourself willing things to go the right way, but at the same time knowing that there isn't always a HEA. Throughout the books you develop an understanding as to why the two are the way they are. Their journey is less that easy. You will feel a whole host of emotions & find yourself losing time while demolishing the collection. Blare and wast have a lot thrown at them. Could they possibly come through what is ahead of them? Will she continue to battle against her feelings to protect herself? Will west become her undoing. Could things ever work out for this unlikely pair? Will there be a HEA?
I can't recommend this book highly enough xx I look forward to reading more work from the author xx

I was happy to receive this book for my honest review.
“All I ever wanted was for somebody to see me”
Blair (Wild Cat)- pretty plain and a firecracker
Dark and Dangerous (West) –Hot and Sexy A prick at times
West and Blair’s journey is one that you will want to take over and over again in this AMAZING, FANTASTIC, AWESOME and Compelling read. Both dominants by their own causes they take ignition to a whole new level not to mention lift off. The sex between these two is ice worthy and sprinkler ready.
The movie Pretty Woman comes to mind especially when Blair doesn’t get why (West) wants to know her name and more about the woman that he sees. She refuses to see herself as anything but a dominant for one night in this man life. They both rock one another’s world to the point that eruption is just to plain of a word. Blair opens something up in West that he doesn’t want to deny but is afraid to face. Blair is his air and his calm.
West the lead singer of Affliction only has eyes for one woman Blair the story is a fairytale amongst self with a lot of self preservation along the way. Does he find his happily ever after with Blair? Can he be the one that makes all her dreams come true? Is he the one man that above all loves her for the all the right reasons in which she doesn’t understand? How do you tell the one girl how much you are in love with her? You write her a song. You are so going to have to pick up this book.
Note: Hot sex mandatory, orgasms are so not optional, the deeper the penetration the better the screams and if ones tongues are going at it then you better watch out world cause these two are having blast-off.
The author did one amazing job with this book. I wish I could give it more stars but they just don’t do it on here. Thank you for taking volcano’s to a whole new level for this reviewer. This is an awesome anytime read and I look forward to reading more from this author.
This story was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review by The Book Enthusiast.
“Real life isn’t like the movies.”
“Each day is an uphill battle to keep your head from going under and drowning in the current of monotony.”
Blair Hayden is bored in her life. She is looking for a little spice, a little sexual adventure and she decides to seek out a one night stand. No names, no numbers, just sex. At the bar “Dark” her wish comes true and she has an unforgettable night with a stranger that she dubs “Dark and Dangerous.” West is the guy at the bar that night, a famous musician and he really likes the fact that she does not seem to know who he is.
She finds out soon enough, as she has tickets to go see the band play. West and Blair soon strike up a relationship. He has been addicted to the fast moving life of rock stars before and he is now struggling to be in a normal relationship.
She lost her parents as a child and finds it difficult to open up to anyone. She usually only does short term romance and has never really been in love.
His tour scheduale is demanding for this new couple. It is hard to put up with all the tour stress and try to get to know one another better. They really jumped into things. There are some true feelings there but there will be a lot of baggage and history and outside interference to wade through before any sort of future can be decided upon. These are two lovers that have already had more than their share of heartbreak in the past and I for one am hoping for a happy ever after ending for them both. It will be difficult as they come from totally different childhoods, have different views and values on money and have different outlooks and needs on life. I would rate this story a 4/5.
Part 1 This is a great short read. I really like the main characters. Blair comes off as very confident and she knows what she wants, at the beginning of the story. But then she takes that mask off. She's broken, everybody leaves her. So she leaves them first, no feelings and a string of one night stands.
I really wasn't expecting her to act like that right at the start, usually it is the male character. West was who shie picked up. She has no idea that he is the lead singer/guitarist for Affliction and also a recovering addict.
He has an insta attraction to Blair. One night isn't enough for him.
When they meet a second time, they strike up a deal. I think this is a great start to their story and I started the second story right away to find out what happened next with these two.
Part 2
This was on okay novella. I would have liked a little more of a story line at the beginning to go along with all the sex scenes. Just about all of the first half was sex. Don't get me wrong, I love a steamy scene, and these were steamy. But I like a story line to go along with it.
The second half really picked up with the story. Blair went with Went on Afflictions U.K. tour.
Will Blair be able to handle everything, or will she end up running? Will West handle it all, or will he relapse?
Part 3
This third part is my favorite so far. This story had more story line and there were still a few steamy sex scenes. The truth finally comes out in this part. But, will it be enough for West to win Blair back? Will she forgive him for everything that has happened?
Overall, this was an enjoyable read. Wes and Blair fight hard and then love hard, rinse and repeat. They have their ups and downs, but they make it through them.
*I received this book free from Book Enthusiast Promotions in exchange for an honest review*
Blair was in a rut looking for an escape, but never expected the one she got. She wanted a night to lose herself in someone else and found he wasn’t so easy to forget, nor easy to lose.
“He kissed me like I was his lifeline and all it did was scare the hell out of me.”
West wanted a connection, but he settled for the sexy woman who picked him up in a bar, and unexpectedly found what he’d wanted. She brought out a side of him he’d been searching for, and no matter how far or how fast she wanted to run away, he refused to let her. If she ran, he’d chase.
“You’re not a groupie, Blair. I’d never treat you like one.”
Lust gets confused with love and a rocky relationship spirals out of control. Blair and West each have their own secrets, their own sordid pasts. The problem is that one will share and one will keep theirs hidden. When all secrets are revealed will it be enough or will the broken heart caused by the lies of omission never heal?
“I wasn’t sure how I was going to get through another two days. Two days of pent up rage. The moment I laid my eyes on Jake West was the moment I beat the living shit out of him.”
Sexy rock stars are my weakness so I was very excited about reading this, but for me, it fell flat. Too much angst. Two fucked up people trying to fix each other with whiney drama to fill in the in-betweens. And the Happily Ever After felt more like a Finally Content to me.
My Favorite Moment: Blair sitting cross-legged in a dark and empty venue watching Affliction ‘s sound check.
“I could make out the smile on his perfect as fuck mouth and I wanted to run to him and kiss him fucking bat shit crazy.”
I love Rock star books and thought it would be typical kind of rock star book; but it's unique and amazingly done! You will fall in love with the characters, the story line and West's friends.
Blair is like a man in a sense... she loves sex w/out strings and enjoys it that way.. until she meets Dark and Dangerous. He arrives in her life and slowly destroys what she's ever known.
West is lost. He has fame, fortune but no one really sees him. The moment he meets Blair it's electric and she blows his mind.....
These two are HOT and SEXY! They sizzle with chemistry- something neither of them can explain.
Blair.. oh my gosh! She's feisty and I loved that! I loved her spunk, sassy mouth to West and the band mates as well! She's one kick ass lady but does have some demons of her own.. that cause some issues... Overall, she's an amazing woman and I enjoyed watching what she was able to do to West. I loved it.
Oh West... naughty, sexy bad boy rocker... what can I say about him. You will dislike him, be upset with him and then swoon over the man. I loved so much who he became and what he was able to do for Blair.
This author knows how to create a kick ass rock star, sexy bandmates, sexy main man, sexy, sassy mouthed leading lady... and give us one hell of a ride!
I enjoyed this story. The shocks, laughs and the sexy/sweet intimate moments were wonderful! I loved watching the characters grow and watching the chemistry and fire still sizzle even when the characters were fighting.. and the make up/fighting sex..is just yummy! :)
5 amazing stars from me!

Whew, I wasn't prepared for this amazing and intense ride. Yes, the Unexpected Trilogy is completely unexpected and worth sinking your teeth into IF you LOVE no holds barred women that say whatever they want without any apologies combined with a super sexy broken alpha male that takes no prisoners while he melts your panties, this book is for you. Blair has perfected the bitch persona to protect herself then she crosses paths with Jake, someone that breaks past this disguise at the same time loving her disguise. Jake is a famous musician that allowed the life style pull him down but now he is trying to find his way out of it. Blair sparks something in him that he had forgotten so after an amazing rescue scene, can he convince her to go with him on tour?
Blair comes from an abusive childhood and has learned that no one comes back to her so she decided to just keep everyone away to avoid the hurt. Going on tour with Jake is a huge leap for her and everything is great with the mind blowing sex but then Jake's work world keeps them apart and distance is created. (Of course, as we continue to read we find out that there are people orchestrating this distance.) Jake then commits the unthinkable against Blair which forces her to leave. Can Jake find his way out of this new downward spiral to win her back? Is Blair willing to open her heart again to even let him try?
This author is another first for me, and again it won’t be the last. Both of the main characters are damaged in their own way. Blair is a kick-ass woman, she takes them and leaves them, rather than wait for them to leave her. West, the bad boy rocker has addiction problems that he thinks he has overcome. They meet one night and quickly engage in an almost no-holds barred night of sex, no names and no emotions other than lust.
Circumstances have them meeting again and they begin an angst filled relationship. She follows him on tour but soon comes to find out that she wants more from him. Things come to a boil when West does the unforgivable and Blair leaves and that throws him into the deep end which is not good for an addict. How is he going to make it up to her, will he be able to?
Wow, what amazing chemistry the characters have, right from the beginning. How I felt for Blair in her lonely existence before meeting West, and he is ready to find someone to complete him. Such emotional turmoil as they try to make their relationship work. It has some scorching sexy scenes, with wonderful orgasms and a rocker who knows how to use his tongue. A quick warning, the story has some very descriptive sex and lots of cursing.

I've become an Amity Cross fan. I will pick up everything she does from here on out. I'm kinda late to the party, since she's had the rest of Affliction's stories, Royal Blood, and Beat. West is the lead singer of the band named Affliction. He's had some issues, but really, who hasn't? He is looking for "the One". You know, the one to make him feel whole, to make him feel complete. He's been plowing through life and women looking. Blair is just a girl. An unhappy girl that's lost both of her parents in one tragic event, searching for someone to make her feel, even though she doesn't really know that's what she's doing. Blair heads to the bar lookin for a hook-up, that's all...wham bam thank you ma'am, screw me good, leave me alone. She meets up with a looker and WOW...it's like instant connection...and that's when all the angsty problems begin. I'm so glad that I got this version that has all 3 novellas because I devoured it. I started reading and if I couldn't have jumped right into the next "book" I'd have been devastated. Suffice to say, the writing is awesome, it flows so smoothly it's like watching tv. The characters are great, the secondary characters lend a lot to the story and I can't wait to start theirs. A super solid 4.5 Stars and WELL worth your time!
This is a rock 'n roll story with an edge. Our main characters are damaged either by addiction or a horrific past. Looking for an escape or an anchor to life, they meet for one night stand. Little did they realize that one night would change their lives forever.
Reading this trilogy made me realize how brittle we are when we are in our early twenties. For someone like Jake West, hitting big as the lead singer of Affliction, is more than he can handle. It sounds like an "already told" story but this one is different. How? Our author is able to bring us face to face with the emotions that rule and drive West to almost destruction. When he meets Blair, she becomes his salvation. Or does she?
Blair has had a horrific past, including witnessing the domestic abuse of her mother by her father. Although they are no longer alive, Blair is alone and errant in the wind. There is no anchor, no purpose and apparently no future. Dead end job, no skills to speak of, she is smart but with no means to better herself so she can at least pay her bills.
I love rock 'n roll stories. This one hit home because it made me part of the struggle our two characters go through in seeking a better future. Rock on!
This book is a collection of the 3 novellas telling Blair and West's story. Each novella is not a stand alone. You need to read them in order to get the whole story.
I loved Blair and West's story. Both are a little broken and need someone who understands them. They found their perfect match one night but being together isn't easy. The drama of Unexplainable and Unintended kept me from putting this book down for long. I had tears in my eyes more than once, West needed smacked a couple times, and Blair needed some sense shaken into her once or twice too. Their love wasn't an easy one, but in the end, the emotional roller coaster was worth the ride.
Honestly, as individually published novellas, I don't think I would have enjoyed the books. After the first one, I might not have remembered to purchase the 2 that followed. There just wasn't enough drama at the end of the first novella to have me come back. So if you started book 1, Unexpected, I encourage you to continue get this set to finish their wonderful love story. It's worth it. I truly enjoyed their story.
This was such a great read. I could not and did not want to put this down. I didn't want it to end. I just wanted to keep reading more and more West and Blaire. Amity Cross did an amazing job with this one. I felt every single emotion. The chemistry between these two are off the charts and the sex scenes are like WHOA!
I love strong female characters and Blaire is one that does not take shit from anyone. I absolutely loved her attitude and her fire. She gives as good as she gets. West is just sexy as ever and I'm such a sucker for a dirty talker and oh how I love the mouth on this man.
West and Blaire go through their issues and struggles. It tugged at my heart strings because I was so rooting for these two. Amity Cross just has a way with words. The way she expresses these characters and the emotions and passion and raw desires. Every single emotion rolls right off the pages.
This is definitely a must read. It will have your panties soaked by the time you’re done reading and feeling quite flushed.
This book set is the complete story of Blair and West, originally released as a serial. The set contains all three stories combined in one addition.
Blair is out looking for a one-night distraction from her life. She stumbles upon a guy she dubs "Dark & Dangerous" for said distraction. What is supposed to be one night of no names, no commitments, just straight up fun and a diversion from daily life, turns out to be anything but.
Turns out "Dark and Dangerous" is really West, from the band Affliction, and Blair's plans of one night and no connection just went out the window.
I loved that Unexpected was not at all the typical Rocker romance. Blair and West were both fun characters in different ways. Blair was feisty but stuck on certain notions about her worth while West was learning about himself and the kind of life he wanted for the future.
This story was HOT, but also had sweet moments. It definitely kept your attention as you watched both Blair and West navigate this relationship stuff that neither were exactly used to.
wow just wow i was not expecting that at all but so glad i had the chance to read this awesome book.
there is a crap load of sex and swearing but it's how they tell their story and feelings to each other. Two people both broken both have a past, but together can they right it and find out who they are and were they fit in along the way. There are times where you could slap them stupid or even bang their hands together at the stupid things they do.
It not a sweet romance but i also wouldn't call it a dark one but it does have dark parts and does have drug and sex in it but it wouldn't be a bad rocker story with them.
Go buy it and find out for yourself it's all 3 in the one book makes it so much easier to read it.
Blair is just flat out badass. She is sexy, smart, and a whole lot of snarky. She doesn't play well with others, but does look for the occasional hook up. On one of those prowls she meets rockstar West, but goes with the whole we don't have to do names thing. She slinks out the next morning after quite the passionate night. Imagine her surprise when she goes to a concert and discovers West is the lead singer of the band. He is equally as shocked when he spots her in the audience after being unable to get her off his mind. Being overwhelmed by West's world makes Blair want to run, but she really can't fight the fact that she is falling for her hot rocker. And I mean holy hotness...these two together are combustible. I so loved their story.
Gosh is there a series I could not love anymore then this one right now! An amazing story of West and Blair and their attempts of a somewhat relationship. But we all have our demons, either from our past or still living with us today. I love the story of them and their quest for a full on love story, but like in real life you will never get it unless you admit and deal with those demons, like addiction and insecurities. These are things that almost everyone has dealt with or knows someone, and I love how it touches base with that! I would definitely recommend this trilogy to everyone! Loved it!
Emotional and captivating, The Unexpected Trilogy grabs you at the cove page and doesn't let you go until the very last page and even then you are left with wanting more!
The Unexpected Trilogy is an unforgettable, beautiful, lovely story about an imperfect love that despite all the obstacles, it could lead to the most amazing thing.
Amity Cross has the ability to make her characters become real and you feel every emotion that they are going through. Blair and West have a sizzling-hot chemistry that is so freaking hot, you'll be left in a puddle of lust. This trilogy is intense, painful, and very much alive.
Who does not want to escape their life for a bit sometimes? Experience something that you just then walk away from. This is what our characters do and then get the shock of their life. Brilliant, and hot and gritty. This series had me hooked, i could not put my kindle down. God i loved these characters so much. I love rock star romances they are angsty and moody and unpredictable. I mean how can relationships survive if one of you is world renowned? While can our female lead wrap her concerns up and put them away or have a relationship with our hot rocker. Seriously you have to read to find out. These characters are hot together, and fun and i also love the supporting characters.
I really liked that I got to read all three books and even a sneak peek at Joe's story all in this handy edition!
I must warn that there are an abundance of swear words used in this book. If you are not a fan of foul language, you may want to steer clear of this book.
Other than bad words, there was so much sexy action that you will be all hot and bothered for sure.
There were interesting and complex main characters who both had issues to deal with, the leading man was a bad boy rocker and the leading lady was no lady. ;-)

Uhm... Wowza! This book contained a whole lot of Sex.. Talk about Wham Bam Thank you ma'm ;-)
That being aside, this story is above all very raw, dark and gritty and contains some very controversial topics such as addiction.
My first Amity Cross book that I have read was Beat and this one was totally different yet you could definitely notice Amity's signature darker style that is used in both books.
Appropriate ending for this kind of story... The best for them is yet to come? ;)
If you like bad boy rockers, then this is the book series for you! Follow Blair as she heads out into the Aussie night to find herself a drink and a one night stand. What happens when she meets dark and mysterious? Will he take her back to his place and fuck her senseless, or will she go for the bartender? Meet West, front-man for the band Affliction. What happens when he leaves his hotel and finds himself at a bar and with a beautiful woman? Will she leave him after one night, or will she capture his heart and not let go? Find out in this awesome book series!
