I will admit I love a good art of.... book and this is a very fine example indeed. Couple that with the fact it (more or less) covers the time I got back in to watching the reboot of the show and you have a fascinating insight in to the creative process that brought some of the most iconic episodes in the show.
NOw a couple of warnings - the first this is not a definitive guide as it really focuses on the authors journey from applying to the art department to leaving to join the Harry Potter franchise (which is not covered here) and his ultimate return.
that said this is really the first art of Doctor Who book that has gone in to such detail (as the book explains there were articles published in other media but it was more using the art to support a story rather than part of the creative process of building the show. So a really fun book and I hope its success will bring more
