Writing is a beautiful thing.

I consider myself blessed I'm able to do this for a living. I live for fantasy books as a reader and author. I adore books like An Ember in the Ashes, The Night Angel Trilogy, Harry Potter, The Great Library series...I could go on.

Before I write I have four young humans I keep alive and love them to the stars and back again. I live in Utah with my sexy husband, the kiddos, two paranoid dogs, and a sinister cat. Between finishing a second degree, running a business, and eating too much chocolate, I love writing early in the morning when no one is awake. If you can't tell, I basically function on caffeine.

A great companion novella

This book was a great addition to the collection. I couldn’t get enough of the original stories so this was such a treat.

Loved seeing different bits of the original Broken Kingdoms stories. Makes me want to reread the series. I do hope we maybe get others in the future? I’d love to get the Princess and the husband from the east, and the second prince and his wife. Just to name a few. There are a few grammatical errors in here, but I never know if that’s specifically because of kindle and maybe some small glitch?
Either way this was fun.

Bonuses for Beloved Favorites

This book is a testament to how beloved The Broken Kingdoms series is and how phenomenal LJ is at writing the Found Family trope! Seriously, without the adoration for her big, beautiful cast of characters and her Wicked Darlings demands for more of them this book likely would not exist - & I absolutely love that!!

If you devoured The Broken Kingdoms series like I did, then you will LOVE this collection of novellas - origin stories for some of our favorite side character couples! There’s tension & tenderness, yearning & a lil angst, some schemes and of course some sweet & spicy deliciousness - you’ll eat it up!

Bonds of Fate

These Vicious Games

This one was so good!! I loved seeing Niklas and Junie’s story! It was everything and more!

I enjoyed the backstory and loved seeing how they grew to adore each other. It was vicious, fun, and so heartfelt.

Some tropes in this short were; vicious thieves, unique magics, banter, morally grey characters, revenge, and more!

These Cruel Vows

Tor and Sol have been one of my favorites since the beginning and I’m so glad to read their story! I loved to see how they started with the glimpses into the past!

Tropes in this story were friends to lovers, mm romance, steamy, fated ones, and more!

These Wicked Lies

I loved this bonus story with Halvar & Kari. It was cute and fun. The story fits perfectly within the world and gives a little more insight into these characters that were part of the main series to begin with.

beautiful little stories!

I loved to get a peak at so many situations from the main series in a different perspective! The characters we all know and love and we get to look at them though another pair of eyes! I loved Nik and Junius’s story the best. Hal and Kari came in second! There is a particular scene after they see Sol, you get to read about a behind the scenes event you don’t even get to be a part of in th man series and I was full of tears! Sol and Tor will always be one of my most favorite loves of the books and I’m so so so happy we finally get to look into better. To be able to see the Etta of old though their love. Perfect. I hope we get a Herja an Hagen story one day. That would take the cake and cover all the Ferus’s!

The Broken Kingdoms series is truly extraordinary. Fabulous plots, amazing characters, delicious romance. LJ Andrews writes such beautiful characters, that when she publishes a novella following 6 of the fabulous TBK side characters, I recommend running not walking to read it.

Originally available as 3 separate novellas, Bonds of Fate combines
These Vicious Games (Niklas & Junie)
These Cruel Vows (Sol & Tor)
These Wicked Lies (Halvar & Kari).

Three beautiful love stories give even more depth to these beautiful supporting characters. I absolutely loved reading their backstories and watching each couple discover love.

I highly recommend the entire Broken Kingdoms series!

If you’ve read LJ Andrews before, you already know exactly what you’re getting into… and somehow it still hits harder every time. Bonds of Fate is no exception. Andrews has this uncanny ability to make you feel everything right alongside her characters; every ache, every hope, every sharp little heartbreak. These shorts absolutely wrung out my chest in the best way.

What I love most is how effortlessly she pulls you back into her world. It’s familiar, and I find myself wanting to reread the moment I finish. Bonds of Fate just reinforces what I already knew: LJ Andrews keeps writing stories I’ll come back to again and again.

This was my first read of the year! I completely loved Nik and Junie's love story, and I'm thrilled that it included a substantial amount of bonus content. It was definitely worth the wait and so enjoyable. I also find it funny that I always picture Nik as an older man, but this entire time, he was running around looking just as attractive as everyone else!

I'm so glad this has finally been added to Goodreads so I can give it the recognition it deserves!

lovely

When you read a series such as Broken Kingdoms you learn to love all of the characters. But the stories focus on the main ones. I loved getting background on the other characters in the series! They too had lovely stories.

In fact- now I want to re-read the series, with this new background on the characters!

Thank you for giving us more of such an enchanting world !

LJ Andrews has done it again. I read Broken Kingdoms over a year ago and loved my return through these short stores. All our favorite characters came back to tell these amazing origin stories. There were laughs and plenty of tears too. This woman is a genius at her writing that creates these beautiful emotional attachments readers have with these characters!

Separate reads for These Cruel Vows and These Wicked Lies (These Vicious Games is separate) had these recorded differently until they got added.

I love this book. I love this series. I’ve read A LOT of books and Romantasy series but this one is still #1 for me. I don’t think I’ll ever get over it. It’s my whole personality.
