Nic Adler: I thought I had it all—best friend, loving fiancé, amazing mom—but it doesn’t take much for the world to destroy all you hold dear. Now Mom’s gone, Silas and Leo are with each other after having an affair, and I’m alone. For now, at least.
I have a brother. I didn’t know he existed, and I’m pretty sure he doesn’t know I do, either. I want to find him. I want to belong again.
Then I show up in a small town in Montana and run into Eli. Now I’m volunteering with him, hanging out with his family, and falling so fast I can barely breathe.
Packing up my belongings and leaving was the easy part. Ignoring my attraction to Eli is proving to be much harder. He’s smart, unfailingly kind, and he makes me feel seen. He chases away the loneliness. I feel real when I’m with him.
But he’s not mine, and I can’t make him mine. Not even just because of our age difference—although that plays its own role. I’ve already lost everything once, but I’m starting to think it might be worth the risk of doing it again—as long as I can keep him.
Tangled Hearts is the fourth and final installment of the Mended Hearts series. It can be read as a standalone, but to get full enjoyment of the found family dynamics, it would be best to read the previous books.
Morgan Sloan lives in the Midwest with her husband and kids, along with an obscene number of chickens. She's a Christmas junkie who can usually be found listening to Michael Bublé's Christmas album (don't judge) and surviving off sheer willpower and the tropical Red Bull (it's the best kind, and she will not be taking questions at this time). She woke up one day with an idea that wouldn't leave her head. So, now, here she is, trying her hand at bringing the people in her brain to life.
nic and eli. oh my god. this fourth and final book in mended hearts was a perfect conclusion to a perfect series.
i love a good forbidden romance—in fact it’s my absolute favorite trope—and this is one of the best examples of it. if the end of the first chapter doesn’t have your jaw dropping, i don’t know what will.
i loved everything about these two. the push and pull, eli’s snark and nic’s infatuation, the forced proximity, the insane chemistry and spice—and of course seeing holden and julian, and beck and roman again. the way this little found family loves is so unmatched in any other book.
if you like soft dom vibes and dollification, this is definitely the book for you. all i can say about that is, OH MY GODDDD. HOT.
and a huge shout out to my bestie for overcoming all the struggles she had while writing this book. i know it was rough there for a bit, but way to deliver us this absolute masterpiece and truly your best work to date. these boys were everything and i am so proud of you.
this is a top book of my life and this series lives inside my bloodstream.
I don’t even have the words to describe how much I love Tangled Hearts and this entire series. Morgan Sloan knows how to write a damn book and build characters that feel so real you carry them with you long after the last page. No one does it like her, and I will die on that hill.
Nic and Eli are absolutely everything—complex, unique, beautiful, and unforgettable. Their love story is tender and raw, layered with the kind of emotional depth that makes you laugh, ache, and swoon all at once. Morgan has this rare gift of writing the sweetest, most heart-melting relationships while never shying away from authentic, messy, real-life emotions.
And the found family? Perfection. Getting to see everyone from the series again was like coming home, wrapping me in warmth and love in a way only this world can. This finale was everything I could have dreamed of—bittersweet, emotional, and absolutely stunning.
I will never be over this book, or this family. Saying goodbye hurts, but these characters and their love will stay with me forever.
This series Mended Hearts is aptly named. The characters are broken men, that find each other, heal each other and create a beautiful family. But the series itself also mends its readers. It has changed me in so many ways.
Now to Tangled - these men, these beautifully vulnerable characters are everything. Nic, he yearns for a family, to find his place. To be free of the torments of his past. Eli, he is healed sure, but still putting in the work. He wants the love his dad's have, that his uncles have and he gets it ten fold from Nic.
The slow burn physically to this story was beautifully. The emotional intimacy Eli and Nic had was some of the best I've read. The gentle touches, cuddles for comfort, helping with anxiety attacks. All of it was written with absolute care and well done.
The tension was *chefs kiss*. So many times I wanted to flick *lovingly* Nic in the head. But his concerns were valid. Morgan puts her characters through it but never just for plot. There is always meaning behind it - whether its to show a different way of thinking or just to show a way of healing. A way of dealing with this in a non-toxic way.
The relationship between Nic and Holden was absolutely wholesome. Watching Holden be a dad was gold but seeing him be a big brother. To give what he should have been given as a kid. I am unwell.
As I said before this series has Mended parts of myself I didn't know were still hurting. That still needed some extra love.
• Love isn't something that you need to measure up to or deserve. • You are never too much for those that truly matter • Consent is sexy and no is a full sentence. If you're Eli apple pie also works. • Family isn't always blood and you don't owe your blood family anything. • Asking for helping doesn't make you weak. It makes you strong.
I will forever be changed in the best way for reading this series. If you need a warm hug and kind words to wrap yourself in I recommend giving them a try. 🖤
P.S. if you don't cry at the epilogue I'm going to assume to you don't have tear ducts because jfc I couldn't read through the tears.
Please read the cw/tw at the beginning of the book prior to reading. There are heavy topics discussed and shown on page at times.

*I received an ARC of this book, and I would like to give my full, honest opinion.
MY HEART. MY POOR, ACHING HEART. I knew I needed to wait to read this until Woven Hearts finally shipped to my house, and I'm glad I did. The full effect of Eli and Nic's story came from my love of the entire family that had been built upon from each of the books in this series. Roman and Beck adopting Eli, and Holden and Julian adopting Warren...the family had grown so much even before this book introduced Nic as Holden's brother. The Found Family support that each character offers the others makes the hard moments in this series easier to contend with, and it does my heart a world of good to see it in almost every single chapter.
Eli really came into his own after only having been introduced in the Woven Hearts novella. You see the evidence of years of unconditional love that everyone gave him, but you also see how his heart searches for that special someone to be is other half. With the fear of abandonment always present, he needed to experience the devotion Nic was so eager to bestow upon him, to show him that there was someone who was made to love him differently than his family.
Nic's anxiety about finding his place among this family was refreshing for this series because all of the other characters felt like they slotted into their special places rather easily. Having Nic feel like the outsider but ready to offer his love was a great equal-but-opposite problem to have compared to Eli getting defensive about letting someone into the family.
The chemistry was incredible, and the spice was everything. The way Nic and Eli melt into each other and trade snarky comments in the bedroom gives off all of the sweetest vibes. Also, if you're a fan of soft tops and bratty femboys, you're in luck!
While most of this book is absolutely adorable and tender, it wouldn't be a Mended Hearts book without a fair bit of angst. Woven Hearts was all sweetness between the main characters, but just about every character goes through the wringer at least one more time in this book. Be prepared for a rocky road with this sort-of-forbidden romance, but also know that this family has each others' back no matter what in the end. 10/10 recommendation, here.
This whole series and the found family means so much to me 🥺🥰 It’s a beautiful series with so much hurt, healing and love.
Morgan Sloan has a wonderful talent in bringing all the feelings to life, you feel everything you read! You go through everything the characters go through and you come out stronger on the other side.
Eli and Nic’s story is just as perfectly written as the previous books. I love how intertwined all the characters in this found family are! How they always show up for each other, without question! How they heal each other, love each other and fight for each other no matter what.
All Nic wants is to be a part of a family, to belong and be free from his past.
Eli has done so much work on himself, with the help of his wonderful dads. He wants the love he sees between his dads and between his uncles.
I love the connection Eli and Nic shares emotionally 🥰 it is so well written! I love all the sweet cuddles, the care and compassion regarding the anxiety attacks and all those sweet touches between them!
I really loved to see how Holden accepted Nic and how he was as a big brother! And let’s not forget the family cuddling with Roman and Beck 😍🥰
Thank you so much for the ARC! This review is honest and voluntary.
Something this author never fails to do is make me cry. The found family, the unconditional love, and the constant support portrayed in every character and every corner of this series always make my heart feel so full. I love it, and this last book didn’t fail to do exactly that.
Both Eli and Nic wanted to belong. They craved safety and acceptance that had been ripped away from them in differing circumstances. My heart broke for Nic every time he thought he was going to be turned away or kicked out of the family he was coming to know and love. Eli was a brat with Nic because he wanted his attention and didn't know how to get it. Nic tried to fight his attraction to Eli, but they both needed the other so badly. When things got tough, I loved how the family pulled together and didn't leave anyone out, even Nic. They were lucky to have each other!
Omg this was amazing. All the feels all the feels!!! This is what I’ve been looking for! Great dialogue great story, great Snark, great emotions all the emotions, great spicy, and most of all so much great love. This family is amazing. This is what I want in my found family. I want a place where we live each other thru the good the bad and in between. I want acceptance, I want love. I love how this story showed that Blood isn’t the thing that makes a family. It’s those who love you no matter what. This was a great story about two men finding home. The writing was great and I loved this small town.
Need to know for me and those who like me Dual POV No cheating or sharing Relation before spice Strict No, OM/OW Could use a lot of diversity
“I could live a hundred years and never deserve you, Eli. Your heart, your fire, your determination. You love with your whole heart, and I am so f*cking lucky that I get to live in that love.”
Morgan Sloan has hit another out of the park. I’m not even sure if I can put into words how much I LOVED this book.
Eli and Nic have a kind of walking on eggshells beginning. Eli being left by his father developed abandonment issues. So when everything crumbles around Nic he goes in search of Holden, an older brother he never knew. Eli is instantly weary of Nic. He doesn’t want to be replaced. It broke my heart because I completely understand. Sometimes the best family isn’t blood related. It’s your chosen family. I think for a lot of us it’s drilled into us at a young age that blood relation is everything, but it’s not.
Eli starts out his bratty self. “The jacket“ I giggled so hard. But after getting to know each other and starting to understand each other, Nic and Eli start to develop a deep connection. It’s a beautiful representation of what it’s like to love someone with your whole heart. To love them through all their faults and their trauma to just be there for them. Beautifully written.
I’ve read a lot of books with found family, but this has been hands-down my favorite. I know that you could read it as a standalone, but I feel like to get the impact of how deep the found family goes. You need to read the rest of the series. You won’t regret it. And that series epilogue *chefs kiss* *perfection*
I can’t wait to see what’s next for Morgan Sloan ❤️

It hurts me to rate this book lower. I can’t in good conscience rate any lower than this because I love all the side characters and I have loved everything else this author has written. I did still like this story, but there were so many things that aggravated me throughout that made it hard to enjoy at times.
My biggest grievance was Eli‘s immaturity. I understand he has a traumatic past, but so does almost every other character in this book and it just didn’t excuse a lot of his behavior for me. He had so much whiny internal dialogue and a lot of things that he probably should’ve worked out with a therapist. I know it’s his first relationship (which is definitely obvious), but he acted like a 15-year-old so many times and it just made me wanna smack him upside the head.
I was also frustrated with the secret relationship trope because it felt like their reasons weren’t strong enough. There are other books I’ve read where I am convinced the characters have a real reason to be concerned their family would oust them, but this is not one of them. Every side character is a piece of found family, and they are so loving that there was no chance they wouldn’t love this couple regardless. Even if they didn’t totally support it, they would have gotten on board immediately because they care so much. Every time they talked about having to hide it, I yelled at my Kindle and said you don’t HAVE to. You are CHOOSING to. My opinions are pretty much all in my notes/highlights.
Anywho, I still love this author and her stories. Morgan, if you read this, don’t hate me, I will still read all of your books. Roman and Beck will never not be perfect to me.

Rating: ♾️/5 🌟 Spice: 3.5/5 🌶️ Characters: Nic and Eli
To say I have been looking forward to this book would be a huge understatement. These two have been on my mind for literal months.
This was truly the best conclusion for this series. It was absolute perfection. I have no idea how it's possible, but every book has become an immediate obsession for me. The number of times I have reread every book in this series is honestly a bit embarrassing at this point.
Eli and Nic are honestly everything. They were unique and original. Characters I fell in love with right away and will probably never stop thinking about. We all have those books that we read, and they stay with you long after you've finished the book. The characters that you think about during random parts of your day, almost like they are real people you could actually reach out to and check in with. This entire series is full of characters like that. The relationship is a slow burn, but you can feel the tension and chemistry between them right away. One of the things I love the most about Morgan's writing is the buildup of the intimacy until it's explosive. It gives you the butterflies in your stomach feeling with the slow soft touches, almost innocent, the start of what falling in love feels like. It gives you those feelings so you can fall right alongside the characters. Once the steam gets going though, it's hot. It always is but there was something a little extra special in this book. It was unique and is definitely going to stick with me. Also, I absolutely loved seeing Holden and how he handled his new roles. The found family in this series is completely unmatched. I would honestly suggest reading this series in order. I would suggest that anyway because they are all favorites of mine but to really feel the full punch from this book it would help you to read the others first.
I know I didn't say too much, and my review is mostly rambling. I honestly sat on it for a few days and was trying to think of the best way to review this book. I didn't want to spoil anything, but I also just don't have the right words to express how much I loved this and the entire series as a whole. I'm terrible with words. If you asked me to make a list of my top favorite all-time series...if I could only take 5 series with me to a deserted island from now until the end of my days...this series would be going with me.
this series has touched my heart so much that’s for damn sure! nic and eli were the perfect end to the series and i love how they really connected everyone from the first two books. i loved their ability to comfort one another! this series has really ripped my heart out but also put it back together, like there’s some really rough moments for these characters but they’re always followed by super sweet/supportive moments.
6 ⭐️!!!! when i tell you i’m obsessed i’m OBSESSED!! i have absolutely adored every single book in this series and they’re all so special to me but i think this one is my favorite. i don’t know what it was about it but it spoke to my soul! eli is one of my new all time favorite characters, i love nic too but i love a brat! the love these two have for each other is just so beautiful and soft. i’m so sad this series is over but it’s quickly become an all time favorite of mine, the storylines, the characters, the love stories… it’s all just PERFECT! i will forever read what morgan sloan writes 😌
This series needs to be read in order but what are you waiting for. It is an incredible series of not only found family but amazing family that keeps loving after tragedy. Family you never knew and family that will love you no matter what. Yes it will make you cry but you will also laugh and fall in love. And lots of happy tears too. Fall in love with the final book in the mended heart series Tangled Hearts. Nic and Eli are such an incredible couple of characters They found not only their family but themselves and each other. The way the author brings you through their difficulties and challenges as well as their achievements and relationships is so world building you will find yourself in a character.
At 9% Eli is fucking ridiculous! Dude is 20 years old and has the mentality of a 10 year old. This grown ass man still sleeps in bed with his dads (weird as fuck btw) because he’s upset that Holden has a brother! Who the fuck cares dude! Get a grip! Instead of being happy for Holden he makes it about him and avoids him. Because why?! He chalks it up to “abandonment issues” from when he was a kid. And in his internal dialogue he even admits that he’s being ridiculous about it but doesn’t give a shit and acts like a child. I literally kept rolling my eyes for how childish and ridiculous he’s being about this.
12%…I seriously don’t like Eli! Dude is seriously a dick and again very immature! Also, there is just too much “fluff” if you will. “Page filler”…like “I get dressed, pat Kassie on the head, grab my keys, get in my car, and drive to the bakery.” Like why do we need to know that?! To me that just page filler bullshit and it’s so much of it just in the first 12%.
I also find the dynamic between Eli and Holden is just weird. Not so much on Holden, but more on Eli. Eli has this weird obsession with him. I picked that up on the last book when they first met. He was so infatuated with Holden. It’s almost as if he’s in love with him. Then now (at 20 years old) lays his head on Holden’s lap?! I’m sorry but that’s inappropriate for an adult man to do with anyone besides his significant other or a parent. Even a parent is weird but less weird than an uncle. Still at 52 pages in Eli is still stuck on the fact that Nic (the brother) is trying to take Holden away from him! This obsession over his uncle is “put the lotion in the basket” level weird! At 37% Holden takes Eli into his bedroom to “cuddle”?! Tell me that’s not creepy as fuck?! If my brother took my 20 year old daughter into a bedroom to “cuddle” I would lose my ever loving mind!!
63%….it’s been clear in both of the inner dialogues that they don’t want to hide their relationship anymore! So why the hell even hide it to begin with? It makes no sense! It would be totally out of character for Beck, Roman, Holden, or Julien to even give a shit! Eli should know this and it’s Eli who wants to keep the relationship a secret! It’s dumb! Also at this time Nic almost calls Eli “doll” in front of the dads but stops himself. But earlier in the book when they were on the hike and Eli was having a panic attack Nic called him “doll” in front of everyone and even in his inner dialogue he said he didn’t give a shit if they heard it or not! So why does it matter now? It doesn’t make any sense!
Page 288, Roman just told Eli he wants to adopt Lexi. Roman asks Eli if he’d be ok with it. Eli says to Roman: “Me? What do I have to do with it?” Roman says: “I’d never want to make you feel like you were being replaced.” Eli says: “I’d never feel that way.” Be fucking for real Eli! You spent the first 20% of the damn book thinking Holden was going to replace you with Nic!
Chapter 39 was the most cringiest shit I have ever read in my entire life! I think that beats sex with a cinnamon roll!
So now that I’m done I feel like this was written by a 12 year old! This doesn’t feel like Morgan Sloan at all! I liked Stitched Hearts and Woven Hearts, those I gave 3 ⭐️. I pretty much hated Healed Hearts, gave that 2 ⭐️ for pretty much the same reason I’m giving this 2 ⭐️. It wasn’t good! Changing The Play was amazing and I gave that 4 ⭐️.
I just felt like the writing in this was too juvenile. Both characters acted like they were in middle school the majority of the time! Especially how they reacted in certain situations. So needless to say, this book just was not it!
However, Roman’s bonus epilogue saved it just a little!

The perfect book to close out an unforgettable series. I don’t think I was ready to say goodbye to these characters who have carved out such a permanent space in my heart.
Nic and Eli’s story is the kind that lingers, aching, tender, and deeply emotional. After Nic’s life crumbles, he sets out across the country in search of the brother he never knew existed. Along the way, he finds Eli (who is the adopted son of Roman and Beck from book 1. You should start there to understand the beautiful family tree) and what begins as a secret relationship slowly transforms into something soul-deep and life-changing.
I won’t lie, you’ll need tissues for this one. I cried through so many emotions! Joy, grief, heartbreak, and that overwhelming kind of happiness that takes your breath away. It’s rare for a book to make me feel so much all at once, but this one absolutely wrecked me in the best way possible.
Eli stole my heart with his spark, sass, and cheeky humor, yet beneath all that is a vulnerability and insecurities born from a traumatic past. Nic, with his patience, kindness, and longing for family, becomes Eli’s safe place. Together, they are raw, forbidden, but achingly pure. Two broken souls who somehow make each other whole. The way Nic respects Eli’s past and never pushes him before he’s ready was simply beautiful. Their banter made me laugh, their chemistry had me holding my breath, and the slow burn that was wild once it started.
One of my favorite aspects of this entire series, and something that truly makes it special, is the found family. The acceptance, the unconditional love, the support system. Reading about this group of people who love without limits filled me with so much warmth and it will do the same to you too.
Roman’s epilogue is absolutely breathtaking. It shattered me and healed me all at once, the perfect farewell to a series that has meant so much.
There are heavy and difficult moments in this book, so definitely check trigger warnings before diving in, but please believe me when I say it’s worth every tear and every ache. This story isn’t just read, it’s felt, and it stays with you long after the final page. Morgan is truly a stunning writer.
The Mended Hearts series has carved out a permanent place in my heart , and I’m not sure if I should call a doctor or just sit here and sob that it’s over. Truly, this series is not leaving me anytime soon—I’ll probably be eighty years old, sipping tea, and still muttering about these characters like they’re my real family.
Tangled Hearts was a stunning conclusion, weaving together every single character I’ve come to love and hold near, giving them one final bow that felt both satisfying and bittersweet.
At the center of it all are Nic and Eli: two broken boys just trying to survive in a world that hasn’t always treated them kindly. And oh my God, they are better for each other, better for everyone around them—like emotional duct tape, but prettier and with more pining.
Eli’s growth was such a joy to witness; he has come so far, and seeing him finally find a love like this had me grinning and tearing up at the same time. Nic is the perfect counterpart—he quiets the stormy parts of Eli that he doesn’t want to face, and together they’re magnetic in the way only soul-deep loves can be.
And the spice? What a treat!
From their tentative first touches to the all-consuming, intoxicating desire that grew between them, every moment was beautiful and breathtaking. The way Nic worships Eli—pure praise, reverence, and heat—might just make this book my favorite in the series for spice alone. (Honestly, from the second they met, we knew.)
I’m beyond grateful to have received an ARC copy of this book, and even more grateful to have walked through this series from start to finish. Thank you to the author for not only creating a story that burrowed into my soul, but also for letting me be a part of your team and support you along the way. I’ll carry these characters—and this series—forever.❤️😭
Tangled Hearts has everything I look for in a book, age gap, hurt comfort, secret relationship, found family, fem boy, lingerie, and the brattiest brat to ever brat!
When I say that I felt every emotion when reading this book, I mean every single one. Eli has to be one of the funniest MCs I’ve ever read but he is also one of the most endearing. I laughed with him, cried with him and felt ragey with him. He and Nic shouldn’t work, but they do and I AM HERE FOR IT!!
Watching Eli and Nic overcome the trauma and hurt in their pasts and grow and heal together was so sweet. The way Nic nurtured and cared for Eli even when he was terrified and dealing with his own demons was a beautiful thing.
Morgan Sloan is one of my favorite authors because she writes real characters and puts them in real situations that are sometimes glossed over and romanticized in MM stories. Her dialogue is authentic, raw, and emotional. Case in point (how could I not bring it up, it’s pure gold) When Eli freaks out and blurts, “You licked my fvcking a$$hole” it was not only the most real reaction ever but also one of the funniest. I literally cheered!
I am sad to see The Mended Hearts series end, but I am so stoked to see what Morgan has in store for us next. I can’t recommend this series enough!
MY ULTIMATE COMFORT SERIES🥹😭Tangled Hearts was both the perfect standalone and the perfect series conclusion.
Eli and Nic stole my heart. Both had me laughing, swooning, crying and just all the “-ings”🤭I found myself relating to both characters and their raw emotions and you just can’t help but root for them from their very first interaction. Eli’s snark and brattiness was perfection and Nic’s pure REVERENCE for Eli was breathtaking. Their chemistry and yearning were off the charts😮💨
The found family aspect, like in all the books in this series, was pure perfection. At first, I felt a bit sad seeing Ro, Beck and the rest of the family older, but then I realized how special it was. It felt like I’d grown with them, from young, barely adults to full-fledged adults🥹❤️
The epilogue couldn’t have been better and it being in Ro’s POV just felt so full circle. I am heartbroken that this series is finished, but all these characters will forever stay etched in my heart!

Closing this series feels like saying goodbye to a group of friends who became family. Tangled Hearts isn't just a finale, it's an emotional crescendo that ties together every thread with tenderness, heat, and heartache. Eli and Nic are at the centre of it all. Two boys carrying heavy scars, learning how to stand tall again in a world that hasn't always been kind. Eli's journey is breathtaking; watching him stumble, grow, and finally allow himself to be loved is both painful and beautiful. Nic is his steady balance, the calm in his storm, the one who shows him that belonging isn't something you earn but something you deserve. Their connection is magnetic. The intimacy between them feels raw and real, sometimes gentle, sometimes scorching, but always meaningful. And yes, the spicy moments? Absolutely unforgettable. But what truly lingers is the way they heal one another in the smallest gestures, in the quiet moments, in the choice to stay. What makes this book shine is the sense of found family. Every character returns, not just as background, but as living proof that love can be built, expanded, and shared. There's laughter, tears, inside jokes, and the kind of loyalty that makes you ache with longing. Morgan Sloan has crafted a finale that is tender, devastating, and hopeful all at once. Tangled Hearts doesn't just conclude a story, it leaves you with the feeling of having lived inside it, of carrying its people with you long after the last page.
Whew. Morgan, I have no words. You just keep blowing my mind with your books and this was no exception. Tangled Hearts was a phenomenal book and the perfect ending (I assume it’s the end even though my heart is breaking a little over that possibility) to this series.
I don’t know if I’ve ever read about a more amazing found family than this one.
My heart was breaking for Nic within the first 10 pages. And our sweet Eli has truly come so far but is still dealing with his trauma. The connection and love between Eli and Nic was truly something special.
My heart broke. I cried. I swooned. I felt every emotion under the sun while reading this book. It’s truly something special. It’s actually hard to put into words and express my feelings for this book/series.
The series epilogue?! Are you kidding me? Perfection. Beautiful. Precious. Absolutely incredible.
Do yourself a favor and dive into this series sooner rather than later because I assure you that you won’t regret it for one second.
One of my favorite books ever!! I had read Eli's introduction in Woven Hearts and couldn't wait to read his story, and it didn't disappoint. This was a beautifully written, emotionally rich conclusion to the Mended Hearts series that completely stole my heart. Nic and Eli’s story is raw, tender, and deeply human, filled with vulnerability, growth, and a love that feels as earned as it is powerful. Morgan Sloan masterfully portrays their struggles with trauma, anxiety, and self-worth, making their journey toward healing and connection feel authentic. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but it’s the quieter moments (the trust, the fear, the small acts of love) that make this story unforgettable. The found family element continues to shine, bringing warmth and depth to every chapter, and the way past characters are woven in, creates a sense of continuity and emotional payoff that fans of the series will adore.
You know, I literally just went through the list of all the books I’ve read this year to see if I’d change my mind about this being my top read of the year, because I’ve said so many books might be. But this one for sure is. I just….
Nic, Eli, Beck, Roman, Holden—freaking Holden 😭😭😭😭, Julian. They’re all so precious.
Yeah, my eyes were watery. And it’s crazy because this is one of the fluffiest, sweetest, swoonish shit I’ve read and I ATE every moment up. Yet, Morgan did something with the way she wrote those damned emotional chapters, their traumas, how they experienced it, and how…. Just every-fucking-thing.
I love an Author who not only knows how to write but knows how to tell a fucking story and hold your heart in their palm of their hands. Morgan Sloan did that shit.
Eli and Nic’s relationship was amazing from the first time Eli ran into Nic (literally). It was fun watching the family grow and accept new people into their hearts.
This book brought out a lot of emotions- happy and giggling, crying, and even blushing and kicking my feet like a school girl. Their bedroom dynamic was also chef’s kiss!! Heavy at times, this story really encapsulates what the entire series has been about- healing and finding love.
I can’t believe it’s over 😭 I’ve been loving these books since the first one, and you can see the growth of the author since her debut novel. The series epilogue at the end was so sweet with Roman reflecting on the years and just wanting his younger self to see all the things he never imagined he’d have.
Thank you Morgan Sloan for this ARC!! I can’t wait to see what’s next.
I loved this series from the moment I read it! When I first my Beck and Roman, their love story… I don’t cry often in books and I balled my eyes out. Then with Holden and Julien and them coming together.
Meeting Eli and him coming into the fold was such a beautiful story and I loved him from the moment I read about him, and how much Roman and Beck loved him and accepted him.
This book was an amazing ending (if it is I don’t know) to such an amazing series, I would love to see what happens to Eli and Nic but this is a perfect ending to it! I laughed and giggle and held my breath. The longing and the angst between them was just amazing, the forbiddeness (or what they thought was) dragging it out but making them get to know each other better was great!
Tangled Hearts is the final book in the Mended Hearts series by author Morgan Sloan. If you know anything about me or have been following my reviews at all, you know this is one of my top series of all time. Of course, this final book did not disappoint. It can be read as a standalone; however, I highly recommend reading the full series (in order) for the best reader experience.
Getting to see Eli find/accept himself more and fall in love is ✨everything✨. And Nic, ooof. We definitely love Nic around here. He fits in so well with this family and I absolutely loved his reason for showing up. He is so patient and understanding, which was very much needed at the beginning, especially.
And the spice? Everything about it was so good. Never would have guessed I’d be a fan of dollification, but, ya know… here we are. Nic and Eli’s chemistry was off the charts. 🥵
And the series epilogue?! 🥺😩 All the warm, fuzzy feelings. Everything coming full circle. Don’t forget to pull out the tissues for this one.
If it was not already very clear, I love everything about this series and can never get enough. A huge thank you to author Morgan Sloan for writing and bringing these guys to the world.
*I read an ARC copy, but this review is 100% my own honest thoughts/opinions/feelings.
Well folks, Morgan has done it again. I didn’t think it was possible to love this series more than I already did, but these two stole my heart. I absolutely adored them! 10/10 recommend the entire Mended Hearts Series, you will not be disappointed.
After having such a rough start in life, it made me so happy to see the young man that Eli grew into. Sweet Nic had his fair share of crappy life events, but they led him straight to Eli. The connection between the two was almost instant, even if Eli tried so hard to not like Nic. And Nic tried to fight his attraction because he didn’t want to mess up his new relationship with his brother.
Once they put their denial aside the connection that developed between the two was beautiful. I don’t know what Morgan puts in these books but you could literally feel what these two felt for one another.
The found family that has been grown throughout this series was everything. They show up for each other always, no matter what. I loved getting to see where they all are now!
Make sure to grab a box of tissues before you read the series epilogue. If you have a heart, you’re going to need them. It was absolutely beautiful.
I received a copy from the author and am voluntarily sharing my honest opinion.
morgan Sloan really knows how to rip your heart out of your chest. Tangled hearts is such a heartwarming book. it is filled with so much love for eli and nic. you can just feel the love this little found family has for each other. the one thing I love about this book is, it still has the all the other characters still present. u get to see beck, roman, holden and Julian. u see eli and how much he has grown into such a wonderful man and seeing him fall in love with nic. Nic gets to meet the long-lost brother he just found out about and seeing how he will protect eli is such a wonderful thing to see. gosh these men have just stolen my heart and seeing everyone else made me so happy.
Nic and Eli are quite literally a work of art. Their story and its build was absolutely incredible! I read this as a beta and I cried so hard throughout this book. It makes u feel every emotion at least once through its entirety.
It’s that soft dom and the brat vibe! U get cuddles and love and affection U get the spice with some out there kinks u may not see coming! U get cameos from beck and Roman and Julian You get a story line that includes holden! You get to see everyone from the previous books to really wrap up this series while also giving us a beautiful story to finish everything out! The mended series as a whole was so amazing and should be read because it’s just that good!!!!
I loved Tangled Hearts by Morgan Sloan. I loved Eli and Nic's story. I couldn't put it down. It gave me all of the feels and I cried so many times and I feel in love with everyone. I loved Roman and Beck's foundation and how they adopted Eli and how Holden and Julian became his uncles and how they became one big found family, until Nic showed up and told Holden that he was his brother by blood. Then Nic became part of that family also, and dating Eli only made it moreso. I can't wait to go back and read the first three books in the series and see how everyone got together.
