Old Boy has managed to captivate me so much, that I am binging the series. Volume 7 is the penultimate volume of the series, but there are still many stones left unturned, and still many twists and turns. The art has been consistently amazing throughout the series; the characters, their expressions, the splash pages, the ingenious angles, all drawn to perfection.

In this penultimate issue, things get really weird. I mean it's been pretty weird from the start, but now we start getting even more far out. This series has done a great job of building suspense, and I'm very curious to see how it turns out.

👉 Ha sido uno de los primeros mangas que leí, ya hace un tiempo de ello, y la tensión, furia e historia se mantienen durante los tomos de la obra.

👉 El guión en mi opinión es muy bueno, te va mostrando la inteligencia del protagonista y cómo no se deja llevar por el ímpetu una vez lo liberan. Poco a poco va labrando un plan para conocer quiénes han sido sus captores y hacérselo pagar.

👉 El dibujo con fondos definidos y oscuros, acompañan perfectamente la narración. Aunque el guión para mí está por encima.

👉 La película que si bien no es totalmente fiel al manga, transmite su tensión y tiene sin duda su hueco en el apartado de psycho thriller.

Les premiers tomes m'ont totalement immergé dans leur univers, mais le troisième m'a laissé sur ma faim. Malgré cela, l'intrigue reste passionnante et le développement psychologique du personnage principal est remarquable. Un manga à ne pas manquer pour les amateurs de récits captivants !

Історія буксує на рівному місці, наче автор і сам не хоче дістатися фіналу. Тут лише порожні спогади і розмови, кілька змін локацій, що не аж ніяк не мають вплива на історію. Навіщо в сюжеті Гото, взагалі не зрозуміло, він весь час мовчить і лише слухає. Залишився останній том і крапка, я довго чекав на це.

Maybe I’m just overly tired today - but this series is, after all this time, starting to feel like a slog.

Me encanta la fuerza de los personajes femeninos en este punto de la historia. Tres mujeres marcan este tomo de forma profunda la mujer decidida, empoderada e inteligente, la damisela en peligro, y la mujer misteriosa, si bien son estereotipos que responden a su función narrativa no deja de ser refrescante que el clímax de la historia repose, así sea por un instante, en decisiones y acciones de mujeres en una historia protagonizada por hombres.

The pace finally picks up. Strangely enough, I could see how people wanted things to move more quickly, but I think the "terror" comes with the banal. The drinking, the bar, the people, the labor. It is a brooding read, simmering. Tacit apprehension and who will win this game of wits.

Amazing. Really amazing. I can't understand why the 8 volumes haven't been collected into an oversized volume, but it's only a matter of time. The story is incredible and the artwork matches. So different (and so much more compelling) than the movie.

It was worth reading the series even if just to better appreciate the creative re-telling, re-creating, and re-twisting Park Chan-wook accomplished in the 2003 film, like the breaking of a carnival mirror to exacerbate the grotesque through broken pain.
