Locked in doesn’t begin to describe these two. Love and war are simultaneously suspended in the air as a rap battle and real-life drama spill in and out of the booth. As Zenta and Sosa develop an even deeper connection, the lines are blurred between entertainment and reality. Sosa has put Zenta in her happy place, and she wants to stay there, but in the competitive nature of hip hop, she knows there can only be one queen of the D. Rain's buzz is spreading like wildfire, and she's almost ready to release her debut album. With no one to thank more than Choppa for her success, she's ready to remain his ride or die chic, but when she sees another side of him, her loyalty is pushed to the limit. When Rome comes home, he sends Choppa scrambling, trying to hold on to everything he had built up, including Rain. Once he sees the only woman he's ever really cared about slipping away, it sends him spiraling out of control. In this Virgin Kisses finale, the love connection is more explosive, but so is the drama. Romance and rivalry collide with every twist and turn. With Choppa on the loose, nobody is safe; not Rain, not, Zenta, and especially not Sosa.
King Benjamin was born Ronny Jackson Jr. on the east side of Detroit Michigan. Growing up his love for writing was at first channeled into writing rap songs and short poems. After succumbing to teen peer pressure and the despair of poverty KB, as most call him, would find himself constantly in trouble with the law at a very young age. It wasn’t until his third incarceration that he decided to change his life for the better. Guided by a higher power he discovered his love for literature and also his calling. He would go on to pen four novels in eighteen months before his release. Upon release King Benjamin started his own publishing company and released his debut bestselling novel Cry Baby. To date King has several published bestselling novels and short stories and his following continues to grow rapidly.
Let’s just go ahead and call a spade a spade: Choppa is dumb. Like… capital D, lowercase smart. Sir, what are you even doing? He’s out here making moves that don’t benefit him at all, running around claiming to be a gangsta, but he’s playing himself every single time. I’m so over him at this point.
Now let’s shift to what really had me hooked. Zenta and Rain stepping into their music bags! In this book, we get to see that Zenta is more than just Sosa’s girl. Sis has BARS, okay?! Just like him. and Sosa? He’s so supportive. No ego, no drama, he lets his woman shine and stands right beside her like a real one should.
Also… okay, I’ll say it: Zenta’s momma redeemed herself a little. I had fully written her off after book one, but watching her show up better this time around was refreshing. Growth! I see it!
Now, just when I thought the drama might slow down a little, in walks Rome..and baby he is not here for Choppa’s foolishness either. The way he was trying to keep peace between his camp and Choppa’s? Grown man moves. Respect.
As for Rain… I want to say “poor Rain,” but let’s be real—this was karma pulling up with receipts. Actions meet consequences. That’s all I’ll say.
Now I’m sitting here itching for this Grind Gang book, because I know it’s about to be messy, chaotic, and fire all at once. King Benjamin, don’t keep us waiting too long!
Choppa found out quickly, you play, youplay you pay in the end . It turned out real bad for him. Rain got her short lived fame and karma caught up to her. All involved lost some good friends which was really sad, but in the end Sosa and Zenta truly got their HEA. Great read!
Rain was stupid, she had it all in her hands and just wouldn't let it go!!! How you gonna set up Sonny and cry cause they killed your uncle because of what you did for a man who was only using you!!! Rome knew the deal, that's why he never put a title on it. He was using her too. He knew it was Chopper who killed Block, and he wanted her help getting to him.
This read gave that hip hop/R&B vibe. That real true love. That you rocking, I’m rolling type vibe🥰! Sosa & Zen had that type of love that makes your heart just melt. The way they connect through music 🥰! When my girl step up and clapped back at Rain. The way he supported and guided her when she stepped into the industry 🥹. Not only that, the way my girl was stepping for Grind Gang and the way he was making sure they all ate🥰. Listen, I knew then her & Sosa was going to be a force. What I enjoyed the most was his and Zen daughter Klaire relationship. Regardless of what was going on, he made time for her🫶🏽! He told Zen from jump he would be her first & last and he stood ten toes down on that 🥰! Their relationship was just a vibe. They were each other’s peace. Mixing business with pleasure doesn’t always end bad🤭.
Rain was bitter and didn’t know where to place her anger. She built up trauma🫣. Like she was fed lies and she with it forgetting who started the shenanigans. Coming for Grind Gang and riding with Choppa was her downfall in my opinion. She wasn’t ready for the clap back nor who delivered it. Now was it Zen place, no it wasn’t but she was stepping in for her man and I was not mad at all🤭. But when Rome step back on the scene things changed, however, she allowed her ego and pride get in the way. Oh can’t forget them skeletons that dropped🤭!
Now SG grew on me and I must say I enjoyed his growth. He became more mature and started to think before reacting. Don’t Get me wrong, he had no issues with poppin first then asking question but he knew he had a lot to lose. Choppa on the other hand was just ugh🤭! Like he just was greedy and jealous of Grind Gang especially Sosa & SG. He just started to spiral cause everything he did in the dark was coming to light.
Lastly Rome, I just loved his vibe 🤭. Stepped on the scene with a vibe energy that anyone would gravitate to. His energy was the type that let you know he play no games. When he stepped on the scene, he let everyone know he was that 🥷🏽! I loved that him and Sosa were able to come to terms. Once all was said and done, it was space for everyone to eat.
This was a good series and the vibe was everything. The connection between love & music will always be a vibe to me. Headed over to the Grind Gang book and see what they got going on
Look this man is literally becoming one of FAVORITE TOP AUTHORS! He’s gives up what we want plus more with a twist...
Choppa out here being straight dumb with a heavy dose of stupidity in cursive, with all CAPS😒 This man here got everything he deserves plus needed more than what they gave him. Beat down approved 💪🏽
I LOVE LOVE LOVE how Zenta came into her own person VS living in Sosa shadow. Then the mad support and encouragement, Sosa gaving mad support to his woman was everything. It was breathtaking. This man had no hate just mad respect for Zenta and hyped her up every step of the way. I do like how Rome came into the story once everything seem to be settling or just needing little spice. Rome stepped out from behind those walls ready for whatever. Honestly I need a little more of Mr sir Rome 🥰
And for Rain, well Karma isn’t revenge. It’s far colder than that. It’s doesn’t come for you in the heat of rage! It waits! Patiently. Silently. Let’s you build something beautiful (Rains career) let’s you fall in love with your illusion of peace. Just when you think you’re safe, it tears it all from your hands. This isn’t punishment, but just a reminder nothing goes unanswered. 😎 Rain met her true match.
Now here I am waiting patiently for Grind Gang Book. And plz tell me I will see more of Rome

When I say Rain and Choppa made my temperature rise, I'm telling no lies. They just couldn't leave well enough alone. Choppa causing havoc like he isn't the sneaky reason ALL this is happening. Sania gets an award from me cause when she jumped up in that aisle, I was like Yaaaaas hunty Yaaaaas! Choppa needed more than what he got for sure. Rome is ok. They weren't friends but Choppa is the reason they're at odds and mourning peeps. Rain was determined to not keep them lips shut so oh well. Happy for all the careers taking off besides hers. Did I say I love me some Big Ed, I do!
I loved everything about this series!!!… I loved the dedication that Sosa had about getting out and staying out of the streets!!!…He knew the value of what he and Zen possessed and wanted to make sure they succeeded at it!!!…He took with him those that wanted to go!!!… Rain played the game and now she’s paying the price!!!…I bet she didn’t believe that knock was coming!!!…Rome said she was not worth the investment after them cuffs hit her wrist!!!… Choppa finally got the peace money could not buy him!!!…
The drama is explosive. At times, it feels like there are so many moving parts—between Rain’s rising stardom and Choppa’s downward spiral—that you really have to pay attention to keep up with the twists. It’s definitely a "page-turner" in the literal sense; you’ll want to finish it in one sitting just to make sure your favorite characters make it out okay.
I am here to say I am all for the ending of this book. Can’t wait for the series to happen and pop out. I love the suspense and I love the pew pew action. This was great!
This story was soooo good. It had the right amount of drama and suspense. I love how the author let love always be the motive. Idk if that was his intent but Im interested to see what else is in his catalog
So happy for the ending. Rain got exactly what she deserved, kind of disappointed in Rome for the way he did her at the end but I understand what had to be done especially since he was set up years ago and doesn’t have any plans of going back to prison.
Mannnn the roller coaster ride that is this book. I’m happy zenta and Sosa got their HEA and that the beef could be resolved between grind gang and Rome and his crew. Finally choppa and Rain got what was coming to them. I can’t wait to see what else grind gang is up to next

When Zenta was placed in a situation that caused her to result to desperate measures causing her to crossed paths with E Way Sosa, a local hustler. The connection sparked quickly between the two. An unfortunate situation didn’t allow for this budding romance to flourish. Years later, E Way is a popular Detroit rapper and Zenta & E Way paths cross again, with a connection still as strong as the first time they met.
This was my first read by King Benjamin and I will definitely read more. This was an instalove romance. I don’t really like instalove storylines but I am a lover of a music/rapper trope so I was sold. I loved the series, especially book 2 because Choppa had me pissed the whole book (Why is he here Ike
I enjoyed every moment of this series. Everybody got exactly what was due to them including Rain and Choppa. Zenta held it down as a rapper and I loved that for her. Now I see there’s a spin-off that I’m excited to start.
A really nice conclusion to their story in love and winning awards. I was still rooting for Rain though. Really looking forward to the GG gangs other books.
Rainn and Zenta were representing women's rap in this one! I greatly enjoyed their different styles and motivations. Visually it's said more than once that Zenta looks like the singer Ashanti, in my mind Rainn was an Amber Rose/Black Chyna cross. Just the look not the personality.
Outside of the women, the plot was plotting. Bodies on top of bodies are dropping and the ONE guy we want dead just kept evading it. It was ridiculous.
Overall, I really enjoyed both parts of this story and am now invested in this author and look forward to reading more of his work. This is true urban fiction.
