Okay so I feel like I’m swimming against the tide here. All the reviews for this book at the time of writing this are 4 and 5*.

Firstly it wasn’t all bad for the most part I liked both Dimitry and Anastasia plus both Nikolai and Sergei. I didn’t spend enough time with Olivia and Scarlett to know about them.

My problem was I didn’t need to be told constantly that Dimitry doesn’t think he’s good enough for Anastasia. Once yes, twice...maybe in case the reader isn’t concentrating. But not all the time it drove me nuts.

Other than that I liked Dimitry.

Anastasia. I struggled more with her. Most of the time she came across as a well educated well mannered young lady. Yes she made a mistake early on. Which when you discover her past is even more jaw dropping. But I let that slide.
Then there was the moment where she’s considering going after her fiends herself. She’s in a foreign country, with no money she doesn’t speak the language and she’s just been rescued herself.
Then we have the TSTL moment. Yes we knew it was coming but still it’s hard to read. For a long while now I’ve either been very selective about my books or very lucky. Or a bit of both but I haven’t come across a stupid female in a long time. And the annoying thing is she’s not actually stupid so why make her act like she is?
Is this harsh?
I used o be more tolerant but the older I get and the more I read the less patience I have. You might think it’s harsh but it spoilt the book for me.

“There will be a woman.”
Unless you keep her, she will be your undoing.
She will bring you to your knees.”

Dimitry and his brothers have spilled sweat, tears and blood to claw their way out of streets of Russia. He’s had to do and see things that have made him ruthless and just as dangerous.

All that matters is keeping his brothers safe and the only way to do that is by amassing power, money and connections in high places.

When he gets called in to rescue the kidnaped daughter of a powerful man, he knows he won’t refuse, this favor will open the last door standing in the way of everything he needs to finally become legitimate. It was supposed to be a quick retrieval but than Dimitry came face to face with Anastasia.

Anastasia was supposed to have one last trip to remember, with her best friends, before their lives went in completely different directions. Instead she finds herself kidnapped, abused, threatened by the monster who almost destroyed her 15 years ago. When she’s about to give up hope of ever being rescued, her knight comes in the way of Dimitry, a anti hero if ever there was one.

Their romance story is rocky at first but I loved that they both grounded each other. Dimitry made Anastasia feel safe, even while bullets flied and bodies dropped. It was unconventional but the author worked it just right to make it memorable and a perfect fit for the MCs 😊

Our first kiss occurred in the midst of a war zone with explosions and guns blazing around us. Not exactly romantic but I like it . . .”

They both carry a lot of emotional trauma and they deal with it differently but ultimately their struggles allow them to grow closer to each other. They come together and become stronger when they share their fears, their guilt, their nightmares. I love a good story that shows you even the worst can be overcome when you open yourself to love, family and friendship and this was a kick ass way to start the series!

I have never called a woman milaya before either. It meant my beloved, my darling. That word was reserved only for her.

As a hero, I loved Dimitry. He was a big, scary guy with a one track mind. He didn’t care about anyone but his brothers and he took his responsibilities as the oldest, damn serious! So when Anastasia comes into the picture, he doesn’t really understand himself around her. He suddenly feels protective, possessive and jealous! Seeing him go from completely bewildered to 100% devoted to Anastasia was swoon-worthy and it just tickled me. He was a product of his upbringing but that didn’t stop him from becoming a man with honor and integrity, even if he didn’t always walk the straight and narrow. In the end, love conquered all!

Favorite Moments/Quotes:
My favorite parts have to be when these two decide now is a good time to express their feelings for each other, lol, it’s always at unconventional times and places!

The first kiss is during a gun battle. There are literally bullets flying and bodies littering the floor as they try to make their escape and Dimitry decides now is a good time to kiss the girl!

Then there’s the big ILY scene!

“I love you too, milaya.” He focused on his next victim and I couldn’t’ help but smile stupidly amidst this bloodbath.

They are again fighting their way out, they’re in a life and death show down with the baddie and Anastasia takes one look at her man and she can’t help but blurt out her love for him. It was equal parts sweet and funny. It might be cliché or corny but I was charmed but it. The story was memorable and hit all my trope favorites. I’ll definitely be reading the next book, especially for Olivia and Nikolai!!!

Four 1/2 stars!

Until recently, Anastasia has lived a pretty charmed life. She comes from a prominent, wealthy family and decides to spend the summer traveling with her friends after finally completely med school to become a surgeon. Everything was fun and games until she get’s kidnapped after leaving a night club in Moscow.

Dmitry has lived the opposite of charmed life. Growing up an orphan on the streets of Russia, he has had to do some horrible things to claw his way up to the top. When Anastasia’s father approaches him about helping to rescue Anastasia, Dmitry doesn’t hesitate when the possibility of legitimizing his last two businesses are dangled as carrots. Dmitry rescues Anastasia, but she’s been “marked” by the Russian Mafia with an unknown connection to her past and he’s not going to stop. Dmitry takes Anastasia on the run and vows he will protect her at all costs.

This was my first Eva Winners novel and the first book in the Russian Sinners series - I really enjoyed it. The characters were great! Dmitry was the perfect super sexy alpha with the tragic backstory, although I did feel like we were reminded that he thought he wasn’t good enough for her a few too many times. Anastasia was super smart, witty, and a nice person. The story was faced paced and there were plenty of twists and turns that will keep you entertained until the end. I can’t wait for the next book!!

💋💋

My first journey into a world of Eva Winners making, and I can tell you it’s definitely one I’m going to take again .

This series is out of this world.
Tense, slightly disturbing, gritty, harrowing, stormy, romantic, emotional and satisfying.
If that doesn’t tell you all you need to know, you better read it yourself.

If I had to round it up to one word.
I’d say it’s Outstanding!

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Eva Winners is one of my favourite authors right from the start and she didn’t disappoint with Marked - Dimitry and Anastasia’s story. I absolutely fell in love right from the start I couldn’t put it down. It’s a definite must read for a mafia romance and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

This story follows Anastasia, an intelligent woman in the medical field, eagerly looking forward to starting a new job. While on a trip to Russia with her girlfriends, she becomes the target of a past family enemy. Now under the protection of another ruthless man, can she stay safe?

This is a fantastic duet audiobook that I highly recommend picking up. First off, I love when the FMC is accomplished in her career and confident in what she wants out of life. Anastasia is smart, beautiful, and determined, but everything changes when she feels the undeniable sparks with her protector. Dimitri has had a tough past and struggles with feeling unworthy of her, but their chemistry is undeniable, and they complement each other so well. I didn’t see the plot twist at the end coming! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters.

Really loved this first book in the Russian Sinners Series. Anastasia and her two friends are finishing up a summer in Europe when she is kidnapped. Dimitri and brothers come to her rescue. Problem is she has to be protected and stay in hiding. This close proximity is what gives Anastasia and Dimitry the time to get to know one another and fall in love Though from different worlds they find a very strong love. Such great love story in this book! So very excited for the rest of the series! Loved loved Dimitri. Cant wait to see if the other stories in this series

So I have been obsessed with Eva Winners lately. I think I have read all of her books to date. So when I saw this one and noticed it was a mafia book I was like screaming like a baby. So lets meet Anastasia who comes from a rich family. She has always been protected with her family being really big in politics. Even though she was protected, she still had a moment in life that was traumatic. She managed to rise above and move forward. So now she is grown up and traveling before her adult life starts. While she is out something happens that changes the course of her life. Lets meet Dimitry now, he is a russian sinner. He was in league with one of the biggest mafia family but him and his brothers decided that the boss was becoming too much and walked away. He gets a call to help find Anastasia. Only he did not expect her to do something to him. It was the moment he saw her and was intrigued. He was drawn to her and has the urge to do anything for her. Lets not discount the fact that we still have a huge mystery going on as well. Like for one why does the bad guy want Ana? Then a huge secret comes out. It gets all crazy at the end. We do get a happily ever after. I loved it and cannot wait to see what will happen with the rest of the series.

Book One of the series and I’m hooked ❗️Dimitry is an anti-hero, a bad guy trying to legitimize his business. When he gets a phone call from someone asking for help he needs to use his old mafia ties. Anastasia is a young gifted surgeon who just wanted to enjoy one more week of freedom with her best friends. But someone from her past is back to haunt her. Dimitry is a dark and brooding type of dominate man who takes what he wants. Which is exactly what Anastasia needs, a form hand to guide her. They a great couple and I hope to hear more about them in the next books❗️ This was an impressive book @evawinners just keeps getting better and a side note I didn’t cry the whole book 🤣❗️

I absolutely loved this book! I've never read a mafia book before, but I might be hooked now.
I was a bit doubtful at the beginning, I was expecting Dimitry to be one of those characters thats can't stop thinking about sex, boy was i wrong! His character is amazing, I love his backstory with his brothers, how he has a soft spot for everyone he loves and would do anything for them.
Anastasia is also an amazing character, there was not a single thing I disliked about her, she has a beautiful personality and is not annoying at all. There are no stupid actions just because, everything comes together flawlessly. The secrets and the twists made me not want to put this book down!
The chemistry between Dimitry and Anastasia is very well written, the steamy scenes are absolutely amazing and did not disappoint!
I'm extremely excited and can't wait to read about the other characters.

Wow! Twist and turns that I never even saw coming. I loved all three guys: Dimitry, Nikolai, and Sergei. Marked is about Dimitry and Anastasia. The plot was different and interesting. Dimitry and Anastasia are thrown together in an act of fate. It’s the same song and dance of fighting the attraction between each other. Anastasia is feisty and stubborn which makes for an entertaining read. She calls Dimitry out all the time. Their chemistry is hot. I thought their characters were thought out and developed. Easily relatable as well. I can’t wait for Nikolai and Olivia’s story!

This book is a must read. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. The story is well written, filled with so much action like kidnaping, rescuing, shooting, revenge. The chemistry and attraction between Dimitry and Anastasia is off the charts and steamy scenes between them are so hot and sexy. The plot captivated me since the first page and I was engrossed in the book. All the twist and turns lead to unexpected development and make the story even more interesting to read. I can't wait to read the rest of the Russian Sinners stories.

I loved reading this book it had a great story line and amazing characters. This is the story of Dimitry head of the Russian Mafia and Anastasia daughter of a well known Politician who ends up kidnapped and "marked" by a dangerous man. Her father has no one to turn to but hopes the one man (Dimitry) with a particular skill set and knowledge can help him get his daughter back. Reading this book has everything you could want love, action and adventure and enough thrills and mystery to keep you guessing. You won't be disappointed.

Cute but cheesy. There was no sex and then BOOM…it didn’t stop & then it was too much. The heroine is too “good” and the hero is supposed to be this tough badass mafia guy but gets all sappy.

First off the repetitive parts about her being better and him being an orphan, we got it the first time. I did not need to be repeated fifty times. Cliche after cliche. Spice was mediocre at best. The dirty talk didn't match the spice scenes. I won't continue the series atleast now maybe in the future.

I was expecting this book to be better, I read her other book before it was amazing though.

This book, honestly it had some triggers but let me tell you it’s worth it and nothing was too dark that you couldn’t enjoy. Most of it in fact was just that a glimpse of something that happened to her mother or could of happened to her.
Getting kidnapped once is crazy but twice insane and by the same man...,,weird. The relationships that developed throughout this book will remain some of the best I’ve read in a mafia book. Not quite a Cora Reilly, but still just as great. I just wish it was a little longer. Honesty in return for this book...yes grab it and read it.

We dive in to it straight away with Anastasia and Dimitry's story.

Anastasia's dad who is State's Attorney Manciatti is asking for Dimitry help to find his kidnapped daughter. Will he help him? Of course he will because, the State Attorney gave him an offer he couldn't refused.

I love this part the most Dimitry who is a criminal is the only one that can save his daughter from Russia. The grey area is the best place for story telling 🖤

Anastasia has fire in her especially when she was kidnapped by Boris's men. I love that she says to Dimitry "am a doctor. I save people, not kill them" then she said I wouldn't mind killing them. Especially what the men did to her. Good heart with a lot of fire Anastasia.

Dimitry am not going to lie he does have blood on his hands. BUT he is loyal to his brothers and he will do anything to make Anastasia feel safe. Just sleeping beside when she having awful nightmares just shows he does have a kind heart...for a few people. Everyone else gets the killer side of him. Do not cross him!!

I love this brothers Nikolai & Sergei they work together as a team and when Anastasia came into to the fold she became part of their family. They just bound well together like brother and sister. Apart from Dimitry he was a hot sin of a man that can cook!

We learn more about her mother? Her past that causes her nightmares. I thought once she was rescued that was it but no they are coming for her. Or should I say him, Boris !!

At the end of the book there is one last loose string and his name is....
Even her best friends are in danger and they link with all this. Yes there is more to this story and I can not wait for more !!

No spoilers who got away for now ....

Oh I love that a witch told him years ago that a women will bring him down to his knees. I think she was right, don't you?🔮

**trigger warning violence and sexual assault/rape

Mafia romances has become one of my favorite romances/tropes to read. Marked is definitely a fast paced, addictive and plot driven read. I loved how it picked up towards the second half of the book! It was definitely a thrilling book! And a very steamy read. Marked is book one in the Russian Sinners series. Marked is Anastasia and Dimitry's story, the next installments will be from Dimitry's friends'/brothers' and Anastasia's friends' perspective. There's an age gap between the heroine and hero. If you are fan of age gap and mafia romances you should definitely consider picking up this book. Although this is my first read by Eva Winners, I loved her writing technique; it pulled me into the story from the very first page. The main heroine is definitely a strong willed character. I loved reading Dimitry's perspective. And how devoted he is to protect Anastasia at all costs. I'm looking forward to reading Sergei's and Nikolai's books.

Anastasia still bares the wounds from a horrific incident 15 years ago. She thought that she was over it, recovered but that's not the case. She only pushed it deep down inside of her, where no one else could see it. Anastasia is on a holiday, travelling through Europe with her two best friends. Her final destination Moscow, Russia. At a night club, Anastasia is kidnapped. Dimitry is in the Russian mafia, but he and his brothers/friends had enough with the lifestyle. They want to break free from the illegal activities. By turning them into a legitimate businesses. When Anastasia's father goes to Dimitry for help, for him to find and rescue his daughter. Dimitry saves Anastasia from her kidnappers, but that's not the end of it. Anastasia has a mark, and the people who are after her won't stop, until they get her. Dimitry will go to any means necessary to keep Anastasia safe.

Sinful Secrets

Russian Mafia Romance: Russian Sinners Book 1
Can be read as a standalone but definitely leads you into the next two books in the series.

Prologue finds Anastasia with her two friends, Olivia and Scarlett, at a nightclub, the Russian Orchid, in Moscow during their summer break abroad. On her way back to their hotel, slippingpast her bodyguard, she gets kidnapped.

The Three Russian Sinners. Dimitry Alexeyev, with his friends, Nikolai and Sergei, in San Francisco, working to legalize his many businesses finds himself getting a phone call from the one person who keeps trying to put him behind bars, State Attorney Manciatti, Anastasia's father, begging for his help in finding her.

The link between all and behind her present and past kidnapping, Boris Jovanov, former leader and currently on death row awaiting execution. With his mark on Anastasia, the hunt begins leading to an insta-lust, slow burn, @13 yr age-gap romance between Dimitry and Anastasia. Once their steamy romance started though, phew! Steamy!

The twists and the secrets divulged throughout, you're able to connect the dots easily, but reading it unfolds through each of their POVs was a great read.

Halfway through, separate threats run parallel between Anastasia's two friends causing the other two Russian Sinners to split off and save them on their own. The end of this book is the prologue leading into book two which encompasses Olivia and Nikolai; seems like it's going to be a dark read.

Heat Rating: 2/5 🌶️
Audiobook: 4/5 🎧

What to Expect:
- Dark Romance
- Mafia Romance
- Billionaires
- Age Gap
- Suspense/Mystery

Before Anastasia, Olivia, and Scarlett move on to the next chapter of their lives, they have one final girls' trip to Russia. While hanging out at a club, Anastasia decides to leave early and is kidnapped by the Russian Mafia. Anastasia's father asks Dimitry to rescue her. While trying to keep her safe, a slow-burn relationship develops. I enjoyed the characters, and I felt the plot was interesting. The story is action-packed and has many twists and turns. Although some aspects of the plot were predictable, I love how the final plot twist completely surprised me. I've listened to a couple of Eva Winner's mafia romance stories, and while this is not as good as the others I've read, this is a well-written story. Some topics in this story could be tough for some, so I do recommend checking the trigger information.

Narration:
Shane East and Lucy Rivers perform this audiobook using duet-style narration. They did a wonderful job and were the perfect voices for Anastasia and Dimitry. Lucy Rivers is a new favorite, and I love Shane's Russian accent. Both are great storytellers, and they enhanced my experience with the story.

Thanks to Eva Winners, East House Productions, and Must Love Audio for the ALC. Opinions expressed are my own.

Audiobook Review

Narrators: Shane East and Lucy Rivers
Narration Style: Duet
Standard Length: 10 hr 21 min
Producer: East House Productions

Tropes: Billionaire, steamy spice, violence, Russian mafia, kidnapping, revenge

Narration Review: Shane East and Lucy Rivers are comfort narrators for me - they both nail their performances every time! The narration was made even better by the fact that this was done in duet style, even though both of these narrators can narrate characters of the opposite sex very well. I was a little apprehensive to listen to Shane narrate in a Russian accent because I had never heard him do that before, but I shouldn't have worried. He did a great job.

Book Review: This was my first time reading a book by Eva Winners, and I thought the book was decent. I had trouble connecting with certain aspects, particularly understanding why the characters were drawn to each other, as their chemistry didn’t feel convincing to me. I was engaged in the story during the first half of the book, but found myself struggling to finish this one due to my lack of interest after the characters expressed their romantic interest in each other. I admit that I did enjoy one of the plot twists toward the end of the story! I don't think this is a bad book, and would recommend it to certain readers.

Thank you to Eva Winners, Must Love Audio, and East House Productions for the advance listening copy of the audiobook.

Marked by Eva Winners is the first in her Russian Sinners series and it blew my mind!

Ooooooooh, girl, Anastacia is feisty and fiery and sassy and sweet and endearing all bundled up into a lovely character that I adored getting to know better! Already having experienced so much and carrying a heavy burden, she strives to find pockets of joy, and enjoy the simple things.

And Dimitry? YUMMY. Growly, and stern, and driven, and stoic, and deliciously Russian! He is determined to succeed, to overcome any obstacles thrown in his path, and anyone standing in his way better be prepared to deal with the consequences.

There is something for everyone in this story! Action, passion, drama, intrigue, will they won't they, CHEMISTRY, and so much more! Seriously, that chemistry? Sizzling!

The camaraderie is priceless and poignant and wraps you in an embrace. The secondary characters and their presence is so well written!

The connection between Anastacia and Dimitry is instantaneous, and electric! The SHMEKSHAY times were HOT and I'd definitely recommend having some water at hand!

So, what are you waiting for? Get sucked into the Russian Sinners world and fall in love with three best friends who fall for three brothers! Marked is the perfect first book, hooking you and not letting go!

P. S. Olivia and Scarlett!!! Nikolai and Sergei!!! I am so excited for Scarred!!!

I'm going to start out by saying that I AM ALL IN with the Russian Sinners series, and I've only read the first book. Eva Winners penned a super exciting story with a hero & heroine that I loved instantly, and even the other two brothers by choice so super stoked for their stories. Anastasia was on a vacation with her two best friends before the rest of their life started, and she's only a couple of days out from going home when she's kidnapped. Her father calls Dimitry for help, as said father is sure that Dimitry & his brothers are the only ones who can rescue her, and they did quickly. However, Anastasia is marked so they have to keep her for more than a couple of months to keep her safe and now the twists are coming in hot. Oh, and that whole heart racing business is coming down the pike as well as I was on the edge of my seat while devouring it. Dimitry & Anastasia have some serious chemistry, and it's only a matter of time before it explodes into super hot sexy times. Of course the danger is ever present, so can Dimitry keep her safe from the danger and/or herself?! You know what to do to find out! I simply CANNOT WAIT for more of this series and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Anastasia and her two best friends, Olivia and Scarlett, are wrapping up a last summer abroad together when tragedy strikes. Anastasia is kidnapped by a ghost from her past. Her father calls on Dimitry to find and protect her until the threat can be neutralized but what he did not expect was that the two would feel a tremendous draw to each other.

Dimitry is just trying to get his family on the straight and narrow and away from the Russian mafia. So, when a prominent senator calls promising Dimitry the backing needed to further his legalization process, Dimitry jumps at the chance. But Dimitry did not plan on falling for Anastasia. Now the plan changes as Anastasia realizes that her friends’ situations are worse than she thought. And now, Dimitry, Anastasia, Nikolai and Sergei are going to have to wade in and rescue her friends.

This is my first book by Eva Winners and I love her writing. The complexity behind the world, characters, and relationships she has started with Marked has me so excited to read books 2 (Scarred- Nikolai and Olivia) and 3 (Disgraced- Sergei and Scarlett). I also love how each book has it’s own HEA (of a sort) and it does not leave the reader in a major cliffhanger.
