She came to Alaska for a wedding. She didn’t expect the end of the world.
Nora wasn’t looking for love. Twice divorced and tired of heartbreak, she came to Alaska to watch her best friend get married and maybe figure out who she can be alone. Instead, she ends up stranded in the frozen wilderness after their plane goes down, trapped with someone she’s not sure she can trust. Theo is the only other survivor. He’s handsome, irritating, and far too good at getting under her skin. While the cold could get them first, something more dangerous lurks in the snow. Things that shouldn't be alive are hunting them. Then there's the fact that Theo is growing on her and that's entirely unacceptable.
Theo never wanted to visit Alaska. Not for his brother’s wedding, not for the memories of their brutal rivalry, and certainly not for the crash that left him fighting for his life alongside a woman who barely tolerates him. But survival has a way of stripping things down to what really matters. For Theo, that might be keeping them both breathing. The fact that he's rapidly growing smitten with Nora is something he chooses to ignore in favor of worrying about polar bears and arctic temperatures...at least until they become prey for something else entirely.
As frostbite nips at their heels, they'll have to trust each other if they have any hope of surviving. What they don’t yet know is that the nightmare unfolding in the snow is only the beginning of a global apocalypse…and the beginning of something neither of them thought they’d find, a love worth fighting for.
Say We'll Begin Again is the third book in the Flowers From Ashes series, but it can be enjoyed as a standalone.
“I don’t think I’ve felt happy until right now. Here with you.” She looks away, a blush heating her cheeks as quickly as her smile lifts them. “Too bad it took a whole apocalypse for us to find each other.”
“You know, I came to Alaska looking for answers. A new beginning. For who I could be on my own, assuming that was my only option now.” She cups his face, dropping a warm kiss on his lips and breathing her next words into his mouth. “What a beautiful surprise to realize I was looking for you.”
While Nora is waiting for her flight to Alaska to attend her best friend’s wedding, she meets Theo, the groom’s brother. Happy to have a companion for the trip, she didn’t expect him to become her survival companion. Their plane crashes, and they are the only survivors. They still hope to return to their lives, their friends, and their families — if only they knew the world had turned upside down.
- Trauma/healing bonding - Post-apocalyptic romance - Slow burn - HEA - TW: loss of a child, child abuse, drugs, abuse, grief.
I’ll start with the only negative point I have to mention about this book, which is that it doesn’t have an epilogue. I always love to read an epilogue, especially when I loved the book as much as I loved this one. I wish there had been one.
Now, about the good points — I absolutely loved this book. It was so good to read more from this series. This third book is in continuity with the first two, so I knew I would love it. Each book may seem similar in tropes, but they are all so different. The stories and the feelings they give me are always unique.
I loved getting to know Nora and Theo. Their story was so beautiful. They shared their trauma and healed together in some ways — and that’s what I love the most about Anna Callaway’s books.
The slow burn was truly burning, but it felt necessary. If it hadn’t been written that way, I might have been disappointed.
I loved Nora and Theo’s relationship, the way they were careful with each other, how their curiosity slowly grew, and how naturally their humor fit between them.
So yeah, from start to finish, I loved this book. And I’m so happy to have had the chance to be part of this ARC journey from book one to the last one.
Thank you so much, Love notes PR and Anna Callaway.
— Quotes
It doesn’t take much to get him excited these days. He may as well be in the Victorian era, getting hard over the sight of her ankles.
“What happened with you and him. If you ah, you know, don’t mind me asking.” “Not supposed to talk about the ex on a date,” she teases, pursing her lips. He rolls his eyes. “This is a pretty shit date if that’s what’s going on.” “What, you don’t enjoy being in life-threatening situations with someone you just met? Spoil sport.”
“I’m still stuck on that first part where you called me beautiful.” He ducks his head. “Of course you are.” The thickness in the air between them starts to break, and their laughter shyly mingles together as they trade tentative glances. “Wow. We’re both disasters,” she says. “Not wrong about that.” “I think you’re beautiful, too.” He rolls his eyes. “I think you mean devastatingly handsome.”
“Hey there, sugar.” This fucker called his girl sugar.
“There are mice?” She nods with a head tilt toward the boiler room. He scurried under that door earlier when the wrapper crinkled. “I left him a crumb.” “I pass out for a while and you’ve got the wildlife wrapped around your finger.” She shrugs with fake nonchalance. “We might compose some songs together later. You know, like a proper fairy princess. Stay tuned.”
#Review: *Say We'll Begin Again* - Anna Callaway - ARC [18+] 4.8/5✨ 3/5🌶️
I'm so glad that everything I read by Anna so far was really good! Her stories are always full of suspense and I truly like that. Thank you so much Anna and Love Notes Pr for this beautiful e-copy🥰.
Nora and Theo were two complete strangers, who thought that they were going to a celebration of love in cold Alaska. But everything crumbled down when something happened with their airplane, which crashed. Now they were stranded into wilderness, in a really bad weather, with little hope of survival. How will they handle things when the situation was getting even more complicated by every hour there? What happens when that secluded place was hiding something even more dangerous and hard to face with?
What started as a super sweet story, with a cute meet, has transformed pretty fast in a horror one. Nora and Theo had an awesome chemistry there, but they couldn't enjoy the nice and happy moment because of that airplane event. They were so determined to survive and I loved how they supported each other in those tough moments, even though both of them had some internal scars, which seriously marked them. I was so anxious while reading this book, never knowing what was going to happen next. It was suspenseful and heartbreaking at the same time. I liked how fragile Nora and Theo were and how they tried their best to be strong enough to survive the horrors they had to face. It wasn't easy because they were in a completely unknown place and with no idea if they could find rescue in that uncertain situation thet were in. Will they be able to escape alive from all that?
As usual, Anna knows how to keep me captivated to the story and to feel each moment at the same intensity as the characters. It was pretty nerve-wracking to follow the events at some point. I liked the romantic side too, which was vulnerable and healing. Loved it overall 🥰.
This book was captivating from the very first page.
Say We’ll Begin Again follows Nora and Theo as they hop on a flight to the middle of nowhere Alaska. A few hours into the flight, there’s a fire and the plane crashes.
After they come to, Nora and Theo realize they’re the only two survivors on their half of the plane.
They navigate their way through the Alaskan terrain in search of shelter, food, and answers. As you follow them along on their journey through Alaska, you get to witness them fall in love.
There’s no shortness of surprises they face, including Polar Bears, Avalanches, and Zombies. All of it drawing you in further.
I liked this book so much, I’m going to read the rest of the books in this series about post-apocalyptic romance.
I’ve been in such a mood for a post-apocalyptic zombie vibe type of book and this was exactly what I wanted. The yearning the MMC had for the FMC was *chefs kiss*. My heart ached so much for Nora though. Honestly, really enjoyed the book overall and ate it up super fast. 💙❄️🧟
Inject this apocalyptic romance into my veins. I will forever need more of this zombie world!
I just loved this one so much! Nora and Theo meet the day the world ends, and are lucky (unlucky?) enough to be seated next to each-other on their flight to the end of the world. Err.. Their friend/brother’s wedding.
Theo instantly had my heart with their meet-cute, or meet-disaster more like, when he spills his coffee on Nora.
I have loved this apocalyptic world since the first book, but absolutely adored getting to see our characters BEFORE their world ended in this one. Half Alaskan winter survival story, that turns into an apocalyptic survival story when these two FINALLY make it to ‘civilization’ only to realize the elements are now the least of their worries. What terrible luck!
Theo and Nora’s forced proximity, reluctant allies to lovers story had me hooked!
Thank you to the author and @lovenotes.pr for this ARC!
⭐️⭐️⭐️(3/5) Format: digital ARC Genre: Post-Apocalyptic Romance Series: Flowers from ashes, book 3
—— Say We’ll Begin Again is the story of Nora and Theo, who are both flying to Alaska for their friends’ wedding when their plane suddenly crashes and leaves them in the middle of cold Alaska during the winter. Not realizing the apocalypses has started, Nora and Theo would do whatever is on the hands to survive.
After reading book #2 of these series, I was hoping for some connection in between the books but there was none, the only thing in common is that they’re both set in a post-apocalyptic word. I feel I was hoping to find some answers to some questions I had after finishing book 2 in this new book but that wasn’t the case.
Anyway, I personally liked the style of the author’s writing in the 2nd book and I respect so much that she writes romance in 3rd person, because that is not easy. However this book needed some serious editing, understandably so since I read the ARC copy, but there were multiple sentences that weren’t coherent to what was happening at the moment and in some parts, the book felt overcomplicated for no reason. I have no problem with 3rd person writing but it needs to be done well, and I don’t feel this was the case. I personally liked the way book 2 is written better than this one. I have yet to read book 1 but I’ll get to it.
Overall, I liked the world-building and the chemistry between the main characters, while slightly insta-lovey (within reason), was undeniable. The story definitely had potential but it just felt flat and not very cohesive in my opinion.
Thank you to Love Notes PR and the author for a digital ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I just loved this one from Anna Callaway! Say We’ll Begin Again is Book 3 in her Post-Apocalypse Romance series, and it’s another powerful, emotional ride. This time, Callaway takes us back to the very beginning of the outbreak — when no one understood what was happening, what to expect, or how to survive. That uncertainty makes this story all the more intense and gripping — I couldn’t tear my eyes from my Kindle.
While part of a series, this can easily be read as a standalone, as it focuses on a new pair of survivors: Nora and Theo. After a devastating crash leaves them stranded in the wilds of Alaska, the two strangers must rely on each other to survive the brutal elements, the unknown dangers of a collapsing world, and the trauma of their pasts. As they fight to stay alive, they begin to fill the empty spaces in each other’s lives — and find hope in the most unlikely of places.
What I Loved: 💔 A beautifully raw second-chance theme – Fate throws Nora and Theo together, and each of their own stories redefines what “second chances” mean. It’s reflected in their survival, their environment, and their rediscovery of love. 🌲 Emotional vulnerability – Both characters lay their physical and emotional scars bare, finding safety and comfort in each other. Their connection feels achingly real. 🔥 Emotional depth and danger – Anna Callaway doesn’t shy away from the messy, painful emotions that come with loss, fear, and healing. The heart-pounding action with heartfelt moments -❤️ 🧟 Survival – Whether facing the undead or the living, Nora and Theo’s resilience and courage definitely shine. For me, Say We’ll Begin Again is about finding light in the darkest times — about beginning again after trauma, heartbreak, and everything that tries to break that light.
Another hauntingly beautiful, emotional read from Anna Callaway. I’m so glad I found this series this year — it’s full of those stories that lingers long after the last page. Can’t wait to see what’s next in this series!
Thank you Anna Callaway and LoveNotesPR for opportunity to read and and provide a honest review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶
Another banger of an installment in the post apocalyptic series from Anna Callway! I rank this one right next to the first as a fave of the 3 books right now...and I still loved the second too haha. All have been 5 stars for me!
But I especially love the pacing of this one and the slow burn was perfection. It's subtle s3xual tension as they spend more time together but the character building is focused wonderfully. I really felt how they were thinking about one another, second guessing their feelings, dealing with their own worries and fears amidst survival.
It's a delicate balance to build their strangers to "more" relationship. And it's pulled off with tenderness and dramatic flourish. The suspense is built within the romance and propels the story just as much as the relentless elements they face, which are many (polar bear attacks, frost bite, shelter, an outbreak etc)
Sweet, kind, soft hearted and wounded Theo...bundle him up and delivery this amazing man to me. It's so refreshing to have a shy, slightly insecure, handsome but not overly cocky, and thoughtful mmc. A golden hearted man that just had me swooning. Not some dirty talker, but truly kind and protective and sensitive to Nora.
Nora, another strong but wounded fmc that is trying to come to terms with her pain and trusting again. They are a sweet pair from the get-go and it was nice to not have them as bickering from the beginning like other books have done in similar situations. It felt more real how they met and began their forced proximity/survival journey. Original in structure, big of heart, and peppered with solid suspense, I absolutely loved their story! I'm hooked on the series (and Theo...still swooning)!
Anna Callaway 🥹 Your writing and characters have captured my heart again 😩 I could not stop giggling, smirking and reading these two. Their chemistry was sizzling from page one! What a book and couple. And when that spice hit 🧎♀️ Thank you so much for this ARC Anna 🥹❤️ I am so proud of you!
Theo 🥵 This MAN is the definition of a hot gentleman and lived up to "asking for consent is so sexy" 🔥 Tall, handsome, intelligent, successful, respectful, quiet, sunshine, owns a goat farm, suffers with intense migraines, adores Nora since the second he saw her, shy, kinky, fiercely protective, has a traumatic childhood and past, touch her and die literally and won't let her out of his sight 🥹 Theo drove me insane with how he is frickin everything and my type! He is so gentle, and caring towards Nora, that he made me sob 😭❤️ I cried reading about his childhood and traumatic past and when he had those debilitating migraines! I just wanted to cuddle him
Nora 😏 When I say, I want to be fierce, independant and strong, this woman is who I mean 🥹 Beautiful, intelligent, sassy, fierce, sunshine, talented, incredibly protective, shy, attending her friends wedding, attracted to the stranger from the airport 😌, has a traumatic past, touch him and die, kinky, and adores Theo even though she doesn't want to admit it 😏🤭 Nora had me cackling, crying and smiling since the second we meet her. She loves to banter with Theo, and that brought them even closer 🥹 She is there for him especially when he thinks she'll leave. Her protectiveness made me cry and smirk so much!
There is nothing these two won't do for each other 😩 Their love is so consuming yet selfless that I couldn't help falling in love with everything about them. If you haven't read the Flowers From Ashes series, you are missing out 😏 Anna is incredibly talented and an amazing human being 🥹
Having read books no. 1 & 2, Say You'll Stay and Say You'll Never Let Go, respectively, I have been eagerly anticipating Say We'll Begin Again. I absolutely love this post-apocalyptic series and Say We'll Begin Again did not disappoint!
Nora and Theo are both waiting on a flight to Alaska for the same wedding. Trip buddies! Unfortunately, the worst-case scenario happens and their plane crashes. They are the only two to survive their plane section. As they work to survive the Alaskan wilderness, they come to realize they not only have to survive a plane crash, but they also have to survive the end of the world. Cue the zombies.
This couple and their slow burn *chef's kiss* Theo is just so sweet and protective, no rough edges to him. Nora is also very, very sweet and strong in these circumstances. They know early on that they have to work together in spite of the emotional wounds they carry. Developing their relationship and reading as they fall in love with one another felt genuine and organic, not a product of the circumstances.
True to Callaway's style, this book is in 3rd person POV, which apparently is a polarizing POV in the romance world. I both really enjoy and really like 3rd person POV so it's not a problem for me. That being said, I know some people will knock a book for the POV. If you don't like 3rd person POV and can't make it through a book in that POV, this book may not be for you.
I'm already looking forward to whatever Callaway writes next, whether it's this series or something else!

Thank you to the author and Love Notes PR for the gifted copy!
Thank you Anna Callaway and Love Notes for this ARC of Say We’ll Begin Again!
I have had the honor and privilege to read the ARC of each book in this series, and WOW do they keep getting better and better!!
This one is now OFFICIALLY my NEW Favorite in the series! The perfect meet cute at the airport turned into them being seat mates and realizing they are heading to Alaska for the exact same reason, for his brothers wedding where he is eloping with her best friend! Small world. They both HATE flying so they joke about the plane crashing, and then haha it does crash!
This is a story of survival of finding your soulmate and making your way through not only the obstacles of surviving a plane crash but also surviving in the climates in Alaska, which then turns into surviving a Zombie type of apocalypse!
I was 💯 rooting for these two, Nora and Theo, they were such a special set of MCs and how they survived together and wouldn’t leave each other!
I full on started bawling at 83% (no spoilers) but it didn’t have to do with MCs directly just yeah ugh, it was a precious moment for sure! It was moments like that, that pushed this book into the top spot for this series!
I really hope that this isn’t then end of this series, even tho they aren’t connected, it would be fun to have these survivors all meet up some way somehow?
Tropes: 🧟♂️Strangers to Lovers ❄️Slow Burn 🧟♂️Post Apocalypse ❄️Zombies 🧟♂️Hurt/Comfort ❄️Winter Survival 🧟♂️She Falls First ❄️He Falls Harder
These two completely caught me off guard. I didn’t expect Theo to be so endearing or Nora to feel so real. They start off as strangers on a plane to Alaska... then it crashes, and suddenly they’re the only two left alive in the frozen wilderness. From there, it’s pure survival mode... brutal cold, wild animals, and something much darker waiting in the snow.
What surprised me most was how beautifully this story balanced tension and tenderness. You feel every ounce of fear and exhaustion, but also the warmth that builds slowly between them. They start out just trying to stay alive, but somewhere between the firelight and the frostbite, they start sharing pieces of themselves, and falling for each other.
All the while, the world outside is collapsing, and they have no idea. That twist took the story from an intimate survival romance to something much bigger and more haunting.
I love post-apocalyptic romance, and this one delivered. The atmosphere, the emotion, the quiet vulnerability of these two people clinging to each other when everything else is gone... it just worked.
If you’re into slow burn, survival, and found-again love in the ashes of the world.. this is the one.
Huge huge thank you to Anna Callaway and Love Notes PR for this eARC! 💗💗💗
We’ve got a plane crash. We’ve got survival in the remote Alaskan Arctic. We’ve got a zombie apocalypse. And we’ve got two strangers, each carrying their own emotional and traumatic baggage, not looking for a second chance, yet somehow stumbling into one anyway… all while fighting to stay alive.
I’m not sure what more you need to make you pick up this book.
But here’s this: 𝐒𝐚𝐲 𝐖𝐞’𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 is my fourth read by Anna Callaway, and what keeps pulling me back is her third-person POV. It’s lyrical, a little haunting, and effortlessly intimate. I’m always fully submerged in her characters with their thoughts, their feelings, their pain. This is the type of writing I crave.
Anna’s stories tend to dance along the edge of darkness. Some tiptoe, some leap. This one definitely toes that line… and maybe even crosses it. Though it’s the third book in her addictive 𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑭𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝑨𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒔 series, you can absolutely read it as a standalone.
Nora impressed me to no end. Her humor and confidence shine despite the shadows of her past relationships. She gives Theo a run for his money, and I loved her for it. And Theo? His insecurities made him tender, believable, and ultimately endearing. Two fractured souls who somehow fit together just right, healing the cracks in each other as they fight for survival.
This book reminded me of World War Z, but the version where Brad Pitt never discovers the big survival clue and just goes home hoping a scientist will fix everything. That unresolved, uncertain vibe runs through the whole story.
Some of the erotic scenes felt out of place, and with no sequels or prequels (as far as I know), the open ending was disappointing. I kept expecting answers that never came. Still, the book intrigued me enough to keep reading. I wanted to know what happened next and whether the world had any chance at all.
The twist near the end hit hard, and the final scenes were surprisingly dark. The FMC and MMC end up together, but we get no resolution, no idea what happened to the rest of the world, just silence and uncertainty.
Even though the ending frustrated me, it stayed with me. The bleakness, the unanswered questions, and the emotional impact made the story linger. It’s not a neatly tied-up apocalypse; it’s the kind that leaves you thinking, “Where’s the rest?” and “Wait, oh nooo”
If the author ever expanded this universe, I’d probably read more (not about other characters but mostly for the explanations I didn’t get).
If you hate open endings, skip this one. If you don’t mind them, give it a go if you have time.
This is the third story in the Flowers to Ashes series and Anna Callaway has done it again! She has created a story that had the premise of being morbid and bleak but becomes a beautiful love story between two broken people forging along in a broken and scary world. Nora-FMC, two time divorcee, former addict and dealing with a substantial loss in her life Theo-MMC, former billionaire, dealing with trust issues and easy going. Mutually heading to the same destination wedding. They become survivors of a plane crash in alaska. They immediately form a bond before the crash, choosing to sit together. This then becomes beneficial after the devastation they face. They are forced to depend on each other for first aid, warmth, and protection. Nora and Theo are both dealing with past traumas that have determined the trajectory of their lives before the apocalypse. She doesn't have good luck choosing men that treat her right or put her first. Theo has dealt with shallow relationships due to his wealth. Nora begins to fall for Theo once she realizes he is placing her needs, safety and feelings before his. Theo falls for Nora because of her being herself. Their time is spent together slow burns and combusts into lovely moments with that are spicy and sweet. This book does include a lot of conflict and violence between the couple and the wildlife and harsh Alaskan terrain. As well as viral infected plane passengers, townspeople and none inflicted people with bad intentions. The store culminates with Nora and Theo deciding to stay together and admit their love to each other. The pieces of their broken soul were mended by how they coped in their new reality and one another. I recommend this book and I believe this author has many more stories to bring to the reading audience.
It shouldn’t have been a surprise. This book, this series …. Everything just lingers, long after the last words have been read. It’s a simple love story populated with complex characters who do very brave, difficult things, in the name of a love that took bloom unexpectedly.
Thank you @annacallaway & @lovenotespr for sharing yet another beautifully poignant read.
Nora and Theo. They meet in the airport, on the way to her best friend and his brother’s wedding. Their plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness and these 2 strangers are forced to depend on each other to survive not just the elements, but also a quick-spreading virus that is creating zombies and destroying the world, as they know it.
I loved it.
It is in this juxtaposition that Nora and Theo’s relationship begins to bloom (hence, Flowers from Ashes). With her hallmark distinct and deliberate writing (more love here), the pinhole camera focus on Nora and Theo gradually reveals unbelievable sorrow and trauma from their pasts, which they are forced to contend as they fight to survive. Forced to rely on and seek comfort from each other, their blind trust in each other slow burns into something more.
If you love a beautifully written dystopian romance with rotters, beaten down characters who so badly deserve a second (or third) chance and a heart palpitating race for survival – this is a must read.
This has scared me away from flying again, and has given me a slight fear of polar bears…. Yeah so no plane rides and no visits to Alaska in my future, if I can help it!
Other than scaring me, this was very enjoyable. I did think it was much slower than the first two books, I was expecting a bit more. Funny to say that because they literally survived a plane crash for crying out loud, it should have been enough action for me. I think there was more fighting and undead in the first two so I was just expecting that, but it makes sense for what it did have because of where they were and how they got there. Also, this author knows how to make me cry, the back stories for both Theo and Nora were so tear-jerking! To see both of them face everything they've been through in the past and everything now and push through, ah I'm not crying you are! And another thing, I love how they protect each other, choose each other. Just so freaking beautiful to read.
Overall I really enjoyed this and would definitely recommend it. Wouldn’t recommend crashing any planes in Alaska, shoot crashing anywhere, but definitely recommend reading this book.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Nora and Theo have a meet-cute at the airport when he bumps into her spilling her coffee all over her. They then find out they are both going to the middle of Alaska for a wedding of Nora’s best friend and Theo’s brother. On the way, the plane crashes and they survive. As they make their way through the cold and snow of Alaska to survive, they begin to learn about each other on a deeper level neither were expecting. As they continue on, looking for help, they start to discover there’s more than just a plane crash, the zombie apocalypse has begun. Their relationship that began as just survival develops into so much more.
I loved Nora and how strong she was even if she didn’t realize it at first. She was able to overcome so much and finally found someone to help her break down her walls. Theo, who started off being considered a rich kid, had so much more to him and I loved that he just wanted to farm and have goats. I also loved that these characters weren’t in their 20s but instead older than what is normally portrayed in romance books.
My attention span is pretty short so any book under 300 pages is usually my jam. This book was 260 ish pages and while it was wonderfully written to tell Nora & Theo’s story in that amount of pages I wanted more!! What was their life like after?? The penguin?? So many questions!! In all seriousness even though I wanted a bit more or an epilogue… this book was really good! From the moment Nora & Theo had their meet cute to the end of the book I felt like I was right there with them. Even though they both had a lot of trauma in their past, and obviously not in a real great sitch after they met, their bond developed in a really natural progression and didn’t feel trauma bondy which I really appreciated. This is a post apocalyptic romance but it wasn’t all zombie this and zombie that… it was a story of survival not only in their current state, but in how both of them survived so many things to even wind up together. Thank you to the author and LoveNotesPR for the opportunity to ARC read this book… I really enjoyed it!
Imagine boarding a plane to your best friend’s wedding in Alaska. You meet a handsome stranger, immediately hit it off, but then tragedy strikes. You suddenly find yourself stranded in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by wildlife, freezing temperatures and depending on that same stranger to help you survive. While all of this unfolds, the world beyond is changing in ways that will never be undone.
Nora and Theo’s journey is bittersweet. Neither of them expected to fall in love, but the circumstances that pushed them together were heartbreaking. I loved how quickly they connected, how Theo did everything in his power to keep Nora safe, and how Nora never hesitated when it came time to protect him in return.
They were such a strong couple, and even as the world fell apart, they found a new beginning in each other.
If you want a short read filled with suspense, drama and unexpected love, I definitely recommend picking this one up!
Thank you so much to Anna and Love Notes PR for a copy of this great ARC!
Rating: 5 stars / Spice: 3/5 peppers —- This is a story of survival, healing, and trust… but also there are zombies! The journey these characters take after surviving a plane crash in the Alaskan wilderness is full of suspense, action, and lots of sharing body heat for survival. The way that their relationship builds is so satisfying, with a slow burn that is achingly delicious and a deep trust that is gradually earned over time. I was also totally immersed in the cold and the fear of the Alaska setting - so much so that I was shivering while I read! There are lots of heavy themes (check TWs) but they are handled with gentleness and sensitivity. —- This is book 3 in a series of interconnected stories, but can be read as a standalone. —- What to Expect: - Wilderness Survival - Slow Burn Romance - Caretaking - Start of a Zombie Apocalypse - Trauma and Healing - Banter - Addiction Recovery Rep - Chronic Migraine Rep
Say We'll Begin Again was a good read, however the ending felt incomplete. I don't know why, but I went in thinking this was going to be a second chance kind of thing in the middle of zombie apocalypse. But it wasn't. This book wasn't entirely what I expected for a zombie apocalypse, but then again it was also a romance, so I guess that watered down my expectations for more action.
But! It wasn't a bad book. It was a good read, even had tear jerker moments. Theo and Nora were given so much character development. They both healed each other, in the midst of chaos. They endured so many trials and tribulations. I was just super disappointed in the ending, because while it ended in as much of an HEA as one could have in a zombie apocalypse, it just felt super incomplete. Left me with questions and no resolve. But aside from that the story over all was fantastic. I'll need to back track and read the other two books in this series at some point.
Hello, people! Do you like zombies' books? If so, stop by this book and read my review. I'm sure you'll be thrilled with this book. This is a post-apocalyptic romance book. Yes, yes, you're reading right. I should mention that this is the third book in the Flowers From Ashes series, a trilogy. The protagonists are Nora and Theo. As for the book, I liked it because, initially, it was very different from my last readings and because it had all the elements I look for in this type of book, such as suspense, violence, conflicts, tension and savagery, both in the natural environment and in the human one. Finally, the author shows how humans function, whether in adverse conditions or in their everyday lives. These stories make me wonder where society has come to and how close or far we are from certain disasters and behaviors.
Many thanks to the author and Love Notes PR for the eARC!
This story starts with a sweet meet cute between Nora and Theo. I loved both characters and we can see that both are struggling with trauma from their past. Most of this story revolves around survival in the wilderness of Alaska. There are not too many interactions with zombies, which I think works well because of of the isolated locations they go to in the story. I like that this story focuses on the Nora and Theo overcoming their trauma. Both are very supportive of each other, even if their trust is tested. Theo and Nora perfectly balanced each other and understood each other.
This might be one of my favorite books of AC to date. I really enjoyed the pacing and relationship building in this story. Their HEA was earned and I can't wait to see what more she writes in this world. Maybe a certain pilot is next....
The 3rd book in this dystopian/apocalyptic romance series from Anna Calloway and it did not disappoint! This was a little bit of a “prequel” to the zombie apocalypse that we read about in book 1 & 2, but that made it almost better…because I knew what was coming!
Theo and Nora’s story was so beautiful, growing in their trust of each other and sharing their individual traumas. This was a slowwwww burn but the emotional payout was worth it. And what’s better than a love story with a few zombies thrown in?!
"You know, I came to Alaska looking for answers. A new beginning. For who I could be on my own, assuming that was my only option now." She cups his face, dropping a warm kiss on his lips and breathing her next words into his mouth. "What a beautiful surprise to realize I was looking for you." 🥹
My only complaint is that this is no epilogue?!! I neeeeeed an epilogue, especially when I love a book as much as I loved this one!
Tropes you’ll find: ✈️ Trauma/healing bonding ✈️ Post-apocalyptic romance ✈️ Slow burn ✈️ HEA ✈️ TW: loss of a child, child abuse, drugs, abuse, grief.
4.5⭐️ This is book 3 of the Flowers From Ashes series, but it can be read as a standalone. I've enjoyed this series so far. The characters and their stories before and during the apocalypse. I just love how Anna writes them. This story is about Nora and Theo Complete strangers, on the way to alask....for a wedding of all things. However things got intense and traumatic very quickly. Having them rely on one another. Which they find both difficult, but also easy...both their stories are heartbreaking, but Nora's especially. I felt for her. But she proves to not just everyone, but herself that she's a fighter. I couldn't put this book down though. The tension and the slow burn, which was worth it. Seeing them learning to trust and open up. The ending was sweet. I definitely could read more. ☺️
Another author that I'm obsessed with and possibly a little biased in favor of? Yes!
This is the third book in the Flowers from Ashes series, and takes place at the start of the apocalypse - on the way to a wedding of all things! One thing about this book, is that it's a slow burn for sure, but anything else wouldn't have felt right for Theo and Nora. And one thing you can count on in this world, is a cute animal companion - even if they're a late arrival.
I practically inhaled this book once life stopped trying to kick me, and I couldn't put it down once I got going! The only downside to this book is that it's over, but at least a reread is always an option! I can't wait to read more from Anna Callaway!
Getting on the plane to go for a wedding for you best friend while at the same time meeting the brother of the groom is something that doesn't happen the time. Worst is when set plane crashes and you ars stuck in the moment with this man you don't know and you have to survive. Because all of this is happening while the world is crushing down and the dead are coming back to life but not in aa good way. This romance was building little by little without them even forcing it. The need to survive, to find help, to find answers made them become closer and find exactly what they needed. This series has been so good, this post apocalyptic romance are so good I cant get enough. Love it all ♥︎
This is the third book in Annas post apocalyptic romance series & I have enjoyed them all! And of course, this one didn’t disappoint. It was really good! From the second Nora and Theo met, I was locked in. Their chemistry? So good. Their trauma? Whew. But the way their relationship grows feels really natural and not like “hey we trauma bonded in a crisis so now we’re in love.” It just worked and wasn’t rushed.
Even though the story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, it’s less about the chaos and more about surviving, healing, and finding someone who sees you. They literally found each other when the world was falling apart.
