✨ARC READDD!!✨
Take my 4/5 stars with a grain of salt because I’m mostly a darkkk, “hardcore” romance reader… but I must say this was a really good “softcore” romance read! I would say Beneath the Helmet would fit perfectly into the YA romance category, especially with the POV being from a high school senior FMC who is learning about herself.

This is a TRUE best friends to lovers, slow-burn trope. And I mean it was a slowww-burn between the FMC and MMC which was killing me in the best way possible! What I would have gave for a duel POV… 🤭 The tension that built and built and built between the FMC and MMC was delightfully teasing! And when that tension snapped… it SNAPPED. I’d say the spice of it was about 2.5 chilies, but it was spiceee non-the-less!
I will say the plot twist at the end and the cliff hanger we were left on has me anxiously waiting to find how we got there!
Side note… HOW did we get from point A to point B with one of the main characters and their parents??? It went 0-100 realll quickkk and I hope we find out why!!! 🤞🏼

I’ll admit, I was a little tentative going in once I realised this was a coming-of-age story — I usually gravitate toward slightly older characters (as well as reading a lot of darker romance) — but wow, was I wrong to doubt it. Beneath the Helmet completely surprised me in the best way possible. The story unfolds with such realism and emotional honesty that it took me straight back to those whirlwind feelings of first love — the excitement, the confusion, the angst, and that bittersweet rush that comes when you realize everything is about to change.
Charlotte and Ben’s connection is magnetic. Their chemistry leaps off the page, and the way their friendship evolves into something deeper feels raw and believable. I loved how Lorraine balanced youthful vulnerability with an underlying intensity that kept the tension simmering throughout. The spicier moments were written tastefully — never over the top — but still managed to add depth and maturity to the story in a way that felt authentic and perfectly in tune with the characters’ emotional growth.
And that ending? An absolute sucker punch. Just when I thought I had everything figured out, the story flipped itself inside out and left me reeling — in the best, most jaw-dropping way.
Lorraine Bradner truly knows how to write characters that feel real. Her writing style pulls you in and makes you care deeply for every emotion, every secret, every unspoken moment. When I say I devoured this book, I mean it — I could not put it down.
If you love friends-to-lovers tension, secret obsession, and coming-of-age romance with a pulse-pounding twist, this one deserves a permanent spot on your TBR. I’m completely obsessed and already craving more from this author. Thank you again for the ARC!!!! 🖤

At first when I was reading this book , I noticed that they were graduating from HS. I thought to myself 🤔 “What could I possibly love about this book ?” I was genuinely surprised at how much I ended up loving this story! Finished it within the same day! 👏🏼 It is definitely a page turner and you will find yourself saying “just one more chapter”. By the time you know it you will be done with the book.
I love the chemistry between Charlotte and Ben 🥹. The details that the author put into what Charlotte was feeling , the things she was discovering put me in a headspace where I could feel them too. I felt like I was a teenager again going through all these emotions lol. Ben is an absolute sweetheart and he makes her feel so comfortable in her own skin. The way he protects and cares for her had me in awe.
That ending though!!! 👀 ummmm I need answers ASAP !!

I was a little dubious whether I would enjoy this when I realised it was a coming of age story, as I usually prefer older characters. However, I was not disappointed.
The story of the main characters was told in a realistic and believable way that was relatable when thinking about my own younger years and the angst that comes with that first real relationship experience.
The more spicy scenes were written in a tasteful and not OTT or unrealistic way which added depth to the whole story.
The ending is like a suckerpunch, completely turning everything that you imagined would happen upside down and completely left-field, I couldn't put it down!

I Couldn't put this down, it made me want to read more , it drew me in. at first i thought this would be a great new adult book with the fmc experience and age , great for new adult intro into a bit of dark romance. i will say i am a bit confused on some character but i am hoping those are answered in the next book. overall i enjoyed the writing , the build up to the of the plot and fmc and mmc . left on a cliff hanger so now in invested and need to know with the next book. i did very much enjoy the book and look forward to finding out what happens next.

I was a little confused starting out based on the synopsis of the book & coming in as a mostly dark romance girlie I think my expectations were askew. I will say though that once things got going around the halfway point & after reading other reviews I really enjoyed it. I think it would be better marketed as a YA romance or a romance in general because it really fit that category more but I really enjoyed it & can’t wait for the sequel to find out what in the world is going on with her dad because man he had me like wtf the whole time 😂🥴

When I say I devoured this book, I’m not kidding. I am quite obsessed with this read!
Beneath The Helmet is a coming of age, friends to lovers, spicy motorcycle romance that is so freaking good! Charolette and Ben fit so well for this book and really brought the chemistry. I really enjoyed the writing from this author. I want more of these two. I will definitely be reading more by this author.

Beneath The Helmet... What can I say about this book? I love that Char and Ben are bedtime friends, and she has no idea that Ben is the viral dancing biker boy that all the girls at her school are raving over. Char and Ben's friendship has been growing for years, but as adults graduating high-school they discover their want and need for eachother. I loved this read so much.

Arc read! ….This book…. I LOVED it. The author put feeling into it and man, I feel like I went through all of the emotions with Char. And biker boy… 🥵 It’s sweet and spicy and I cannot wait to read the next book.

Honestly I couldn't put it down! The plot stayed consistent with every up and down with the FMC and MMC.

ARC review- this book had me turning pages so quick. Oh my lanta the characters.. seriously where do we find the MMC in real life LOL 🥵 Honestly I don’t know what to say without any spoilers, so I’ll keep calm until release day.. I will say this is a must read for anyone who enjoys biketok/booktok collabs. I can’t wait to see what comes next after that cliffhanger.

I got this book as an arc. Life got busy and I had forgotten about it. But I started it this morning at about 9:30 am. I just finished it at about 1pm. There were a few things that I had predicted, but the twisted that happened came out of nowhere. I didn't expect to cry at this. I will definitely be reading book 2 when it comes out
