never-finished

Only made it to page ten or so but had to stop. There's no way I can find compassion for a man who not only lied to and cheated on his wife to hide his sexual preference but went so far as to contract hiv, pass it on to her (the unsuspecting mother of his three children, no less), and cause her death. I'm assuming he was also having unprotected sex with her and that she assumed they were in a monogamous relationship but maybe I'm wrong. Either way, can't say I blame his children for hating him. I hate him.

I really tried to enjoy the ebook but there was just something off in this story. Maybe because of its shortness, the author couldn't develop the characters or the story much. On the other hand, there were so many lines spent on the topics of HIV and the re-installment of wolves in their natural environment that this whole story felt more like a school book. Instead of trying to educate her readers, Sarah Black should have concentrated more on the development of feelings between her two main characters.

Overall rather disappointing.

This was really to short. I would have liked to read a full book about Jake and Nathaniel.
It would have been great to read about Jakes marriage and all that lead him to where he is now.

I can recommend it.
