Stolen by the Gargoyle

Rate this book
All Nazzar wanted was a bride... So he crawled out of hell to claim her.

As first commander of legions of the Underworld, Nazzar was all too familiar with pain and death, but he wanted more out of his existence. And escaping his domain to the human world led him to her.

Dolores Villanueva.

One glance and he knew. She was his to mate. His to claim. His to steal.

And Nazzar would do whatever it took to convince the human to stay.

All Dolores wanted was adventure... but there's a gargoyle worshipping at her feet instead.

The Last thing Dolores Villanueva expected out of her boring, yet cozy life was to be stolen away by a gargoyle. But her world was turned upside down the moment she awoke in the Underworld with an enthusiastic and frightening monster begging for a taste of her.

Soon, the life of action she only dreamt of became a demon-filled nightmare from which she couldn't escape.

Trapped in a cave without the basic necessities was the least of her worries. Because Nazzar was hungry, feral, and he claimed he was never letting her go.

"You are branded into every part of me, Dolores Villanueva. I told you before that you were mine from the moment I laid eyes on your smile, and I did not speak those words lightly."

This was my first read by this author and OH MY GOD, it definitely starts off with a bang (a very steamy one if you will) and I freaking loved it!! 🤫

We follow Nazzar, "first general of the underworld, demon commander of the lord of dead’s legions of hell" who along with his brothers have felt alone all their lives so they decide to go to earth to look for and take their wives, but only he managed to get his and dragged her to the underworld with him. And Dolores Villanueva, the woman who was stolen and does not want to bow down but wants him to understand where he was wrong and how things work in her world.

While this leans more towards the instalove aspect it was absolutely incredible. Because yes it’s fast paced but the connection, banter, understanding and interactions between them were chef kiss!!

I loved how the author projected Dolores character as a strong, relatable, and funny woman (she literally had me cracking tf up). And Nazzar, while he was a strong character and it could be a bit intimidating at first he was such a gentle sweet giant, from the moment he knew he was in the wrong he wanted to completely redeem himself and it was such a heartwarming thing to read (he had me shedding tears).

I read this in one sitting and honestly? I loved it so much that I cannot wait for the next book in the series lol

Monster romance is not usually something I go for automatically but this book seemed really interesting. Gargoyles and a Latina FMC? Come on! I bet you’re intrigued as well.

I really loved this novella and wish it was longer honestly. I read this in one sitting because it just sucked me right in.

The spice hits you right at page one. Even though it’s a novella you don’t get lost in the world Aleera has created. Everything flowed so smoothly.

Loved the FMC, she says/thinks a lot of funny things.

The MMC is sweet, well he tries to be sweet but doesn’t always understand human needs/wants. 😂

Some of my favorite quotes from the book:

“I only knew how to say it in Spanish, and it was the same f*****g word in English.”

“He’d kidnapped me, and I wasn’t about to be on some stockholm syndrome bulls**t, but his appearance was appealing.”

“Because how was one plus one equaling three right then? I needed him to explain like I was either five or dumb as a bag of rocks, because, what the actual f**k?”

“Right. I wasn’t a f*****g turkey, though.”

“For I have never wanted anything–not love, not the sky, not companionship–more than I wanted them with you.”

Definitely recommend!

Just as I suspected this was a quick, hot, sweet, and good little banger! Dolores wakes up to not only find that she’s been kidnapped but that the gargoyle who kidnapped her has his head between her legs and he’s feasting. If you enjoy the stolen bride trope mixed with monster romance, some miscommunication due to them being two different species with different customs, a MMC who would do absolutely anything for his wife, and a FMC who is doing the best she can after her life has been turned upside down then I think you’d like this little novella! I needed something easy to read, something that would make me warm & happy, a mood booster if you will and this was a great one to fulfill those needs.
*also I loved seeing just a glimpse of my girl Lourdes and one of her kings.

What to expect:
Human/Monster romance
Cockwarming (light)
Tail play
Fast burn
Kidnapping
Dubcon (the MMC eats out the FMC while she is unconscious without any prior consent to do so)
Size difference
He carries her while flying
Fancy monster peen
He’s primal/feral

TW/CW: romanticized kidnapping, mentions of stalking, brief not graphic mentions of hell/torture/death, killing, theft

I absolutely LOVED this novella by @aleera_ceres 😍🔥 It starts off with the FMC getting [TW: kidnapped], and from there it’s a wild ride. By the end, let’s just say… well you just need to pick it up for yourself 😉I am so intrigued, I need to know what’s gonna happen ASAP! 👀✨ I 100% recommend picking this one up!

Aleera has done it again. I adore her writing and this novella is beautiful. A man (monster) that’s doing his best to be sweet… in the most awkward ways possible 😂😂

This is instalove for the MMC and (sus but accepting) instalove for the FMC

Literally devoured the novel and have zero regrets.

Immediately bought a copy to go with my Kraken and Lourdes books 🥹

So I actually started this one months ago, but got distracted by other books. And since Aleera has another gargoyle book coming out, I thought to read this one so I can enjoy the newest one! And this was a fun read!

So, we got Dolores over here who was minding her own business when suddenly, she got kidnapped (hence the title of the book) and then she wakes up to *gasp* a gargoyle eating her out. Now obviously, she gotta enjoy the moment, but after an orgasmic moment, she realizes the situation and is in a panic. Like, why is she there and what was the gargoyle’s plan. Who, we find out is Nazzar, kidnapped her to the Underworld per their tradition to make her his wife!

Now, ignoring the kidnapping thing, Nazzar is such a green flag! His care for Dolores and wanting to make her happy, and clarifying to her that yes, he did take her, but would never force her to do anything she didn’t want. I mean, I agree with Dolores' older sister, who we meet later in the book, when she says to Dolores who wouldn’t want someone so dedicated to you like Nazzar is to her! And what Nazzar does in the end for Dolores! Oh wanna say but it’s a big spoiler so if you want to know, you gotta read! But I will spoil this note, I just love how Nazzar at the end speaks to Dolores in spanish because YES PLEASE SPANISH ES SEXY!!!

And I adore Dolores for her fight. I mean, yeah she falls for Nazzar, but she also does her best with the situation at first. I mean, she got kidnapped! Who would just sit there and accept what was happening, arms crossed?! I even adore her back and forth with whether she wants to be with Nazzar or not. But man, girl got strength!

It’s a short read but very enjoyable. And hot as FUCK at the end. Which side note on the hotness, I totally forgot Nazzar was technically a virgin! Yeah he is the virgin in this sense and yet his main focus is Dolores, his wife.

I enjoyed this read so much while I was in the hospital with my mom and super excited to read the next gargoyle book coming out, Loved by the Gargoyle.

Stolen by the Gsrgoyle is a fast-burn, full of insta-love & insta-lust and you’ll be hooked from page one.

This spin-off of Lourdes & the Mafia gives us glimpses of Lourdes, Ramiel, Kane, Lorenzo, and even Queenie & the Krakens 👀

Meet Nazzar: first general of the underworld, demon commander of the lord of death’s legions of hell. He and his brothers have always felt alone, so they descend to earth to claim their wives. Only Nazzar succeeds… dragging Dolores into the underworld with him.

But Dolores? She refuses to bend. She challenges him, forces him to see where he’s wrong, and demands he understand her world.

It’s fiery, it’s funny, it’s SPICY AF 🌶️🔥—and the tension never lets up. The author knows exactly how to build that heat and deliver every single time.

Things to know

Human/monster relationships• Kidnapping to make her his wife • Mentions of stalking • Dubious consent • Brief and vague mentions of hell, torture, and death • Size difference • Fancy peens and monster-like anatomy • Tail play • Fast burn • Miscommunication (because they’re different species with different cultures) • Killing • Theft • Primal/feral MMC • A bit of pain with the pleasure • Romanticizing kidnapping • Light cockwarming • “my wife” • Latina FMC • gargoyle MMC • monster romance • novella

okay but what do you mean i was crying about a gargoyle who stole a human to be his wife 😭😭😭

i thought i was waiting for my alien husband to abduct me now i’ll take a gargoyle instead now 🙋🏻‍♀️ Nazzar is sweet and is just trying to figure out why Dolores is so upset about being taken to become his wife. and Dolores, tho insanely attracted to Nazzar, just wants to go home bc she doesn’t want to live in a cave with no electricity or plumbing.

tho this is a novella, you still see a sweet relationship develop between Nazzar and Dolores. would definitely recommend for anyone who loves monster or alien romance that includes some tail action 😏

What a fun read!!! Ceres always delivers!

This novella is fast-paced, and witty. There's also a lot of tension from the very first chapter. I loved the balance between humor and that intensity. I think it created a great sort of push and pull as Dolores tries to figure out what happened, who took her, and where she’s ended up.

Dolores is such a relatable FMC, and her dynamic with Nazzar had me flipping the pages nonstop.
Yes, it leans a little “insta-love,” but that doesn’t take away from the suspense, chemistry, or excitement.

There were funny moments. But this story starts some HEAT!!! and you're captured by it instantly. The spice doesn’t let up! I think this is something the author does very well, building up that tension and always delivering so well, yet somehow you still want more!!!

This is a great book to read in a couple of days and then immediately wish there was more.
If you love quick, intense romances with humor and gargoyle/demon twists, mixed with heat, and heart... I think you'll enjoy this one! I need the next one ASAP.

Big thanks to the author for the ARC copy!

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Nazzar steal himself a bride under false pretenses of its honorable and to show that he can defend and provide. However, he quickly learns that no woman ever is friendly towards being ladynapped.

At first, I was a bit frustrated that Delores didn’t realize Nazzar meant her no harm. Seriously, she had a whole gargoyle man who wanted to eat her up!😭 But then I started to understand her perspective. She didn’t have a choice and ending up in the Underworld with an unknown being isn’t exactly a happy feeling.

And let’s not forget their different backgrounds and cultures. I absolutely adore the straightforwardness of monsters. They just say what they think or what they’ve figured out, and it’s hilariously blunt. I couldn’t stop laughing at Nazzar’s naivety and trying to understand Dolores’ human side.

The spice, the spice, the spice! Oohhhh once it was going, it was hot. I was hooked from the very first page and by the end, I was a mess. There’s just something about them v!rg!n MMC!🥵

This was a new to me author and I’m so glad she was shown to me. I can’t wait to see more from this series.

“All Nazzar wanted was a bride… So he crawled out of hell to claim her.”

This book is fast paced, high heat and super funny. I saw Aleera advertising this on threads and I was hooked from the word “gargoyle”💀. This book is 161 pages, and each page got better than the last.

Nazzar is a gargoyle from Hell, and he was tired of feeling lonely. He wanted a bride, and well he found one and took her. He’s from Hell, so the two have a bit to learn about one another. He doesn’t quite understand humans needs or wants but he does ✨try✨. I think he’s a big cinnamon roll who maybe should have spent a bit more time in the human world learning🤣.

Dolores is hilarious. She made me laugh so much, and when I read this book I desperately needed it. She’s a human woman who wakes up in hell with a monster between her legs, and I’m not going to say anymore bc no spoilers here.

This book is an easy 5 stars from me, I think it was hilarious, spicy and super super sweet (especially towards the end). Not going to lie, I instantly went and started Aleera’s “Lourdes & the Mafia” and that is going FANTASTIC.

I loved this fast paced monster romance and I wish there was more!

Nazzar is the first general of hell and he came to earth to find his bride. He finds Dolores and steals her away to the underworld. Dolores wanted adventure, but being kidnapped and told she was going to be a strange gargoyle’s wife was not what she had in mind. But Dolores won’t just come quietly and she is determined to explain to Nazzar that he can’t just claim her even if she does find him attractive.

I absolutely loved both Dolores and Nazzar. Dolores was witty, strong, and confident. She had me laughing out loud at times. I loved how she wouldn’t bow down to Nazzar’s demands even when she was trapped in an unfamiliar and dangerous environment. Nazzar was definitely a gentle giant with a rough exterior. The way that he immediately wanted to redeem himself once Dolores explained where he went wrong was so endearing. I also loved how protective he was of her. There were definitely some fun glimpses of characters from other books and I really enjoyed those. I cannot wait to read more in this series!

Meh, I wanted to like it, but this was simply undeveloped, unfortunately. There isn't any tangible reasons why he loves her besides...watching her for a few days and seeing her smiling while wearing a yellow coat? Huh? They don't know each other, and have no chemistry. And then the intimate scene at the end of just gross. Biting his "junk" and gagging, choking on him, purple .... "fluids" everywhere and spicy smells. Eeeeeyuck!!!!

The best part of this book was definitely the description of the heroine, honestly, which was beautiful.

"She was molded and shaped from tiger's eye, all smooth brown skin with dark golden and mahogany undertones. Her body dipped and curved, appearing pillowy and fluffy and soft."

The story was more interesting when it involved interactions with the characters talking to everyone BESIDES each other, which shows the potential of this author, who isn't a bad writer in the least bit, but the storytelling is where this falls very flat.

This is a thrilling monster romance featuring a witty, fast-paced, and spicy storyline. The FMC, Dolores, is a strong, unapologetically Latina woman whose little craving for adventure spirals into something far bigger—namely, a devoted gargoyle who’s willing to worship her for life, no matter the consequences.

What begins with a bit of miscommunication between species quickly turns into a clash of cultures, traditions, and desires. Nazzar, the fearsome gargoyle who’s only just glimpsed what love could mean, doesn’t quite understand that “stealing” your mate isn’t exactly how humans do things.

As Dolores and Nazzar navigate their wildly different worlds, they learn, grow, and compromise—turning a chaotic abduction into an unexpectedly tender (and steamy) connection.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to ARC Read this amazing monster novella!

This is an insta-love and insta lust that’s just right when it comes to a soulmate story. Nazzar and Dolores story picks up on a kidnapping to the underworld, and ends with a happily ever after lol.

Dolores took waking up to hell as expected…but it worked out beautifully for her. She learned to love and accept the love she deserves. Beautifully headstrong and awesome character.

I loved Nazzar—for a hellhound torturer, he was such an emotionally intelligent man. He sought to grow and develop to become a better partner to Dolores. The miscommunication is honestly hilarious and just a delightful experience. Overall great novella I’d recommend.

This was my first gargoyle romance and definitely will not be my last. The story follows Nazeer, a gargoyle, who takes Dolores, a human, to be his wife in the underworld. As you can imagine, problems do arise.

Nazeer, first general of the underworld, was a little clueless but sweet at the same time. He corrected his mistakes and became a better man (monster) for Dolores.

Dolores was so strong and made me laugh so much.

This book was spicy. Be prepared to blush from the very first page. Let's just say Nazeer is a very talented lover.

I love the world the author created and am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Thank you to the author for an eARC of this title.

As someone who loves a slow burn, this novella took me by surprise in the best way.

Nazzar wants more from his life in the underworld, and when his eyes fall on Dolores, he decides exactly what that is: to make her his wife.

⚠️Content warning: There is kidnapping, dub-con, miscommunication, and a type of yearning I simply cannot describe better than Aleera herself. Just know that anything questionable is explained and resolved.

I cannot go into any real detail without giving away the whole book, but OH MY GOD. Aleera has been my intro into the supernatural, monster romance genre, and she NEVER disappoints! Starting page one, be ready to literally squirm in your seat.

This was exactly what I needed to get
over my reading slump! This novella was a really fun read. It
was heartwarming, funny, sexy, spicy, and at times over the top in the best possible way. The characters had depth and heart. I love novellas when they are done right and are well written. This one hit all the boxes. It was well written, had great character development, had depth, and was a good time! I adored the chemistry between Dolores and Nazzar! I want more of them!! I loved the glimpse we get into this world and I can’t wait to read Queenie & The Krakens and Lourdes & The Mafia to get more! Thank you for the eARC.

This story was allllll burn, baby. Nazzar is a strong character from the start - a gargoyle who has found, and subsequently kidnapped, his wife. But Dolores is equally strong and even though she’s just a human, she fights back against him and insists on what she needs. The chemistry between the two is strong and the spice is incredible. In an utterly heartwarming turn of events, Nazzar learns what his woman needs and finds a way to provide it for her, just as she learns to accept his needs. This author’s monstery world has me totally hooked!
