Room for Three More: A Reverse Harem Romance

She opened the door to renters. She didn’t expect to fall for the whole damn house.

Sally’s plan was return to Maple Hollow, fix up her late grandmother’s crumbling farmhouse, and keep to herself.

What she didn’t plan on? Three very attractive tenants. One very thin set of walls. And absolutely no rules about mixing business with pleasure.

Jack is the grumpy carpenter with rough hands and a habit of fixing her door… then lingering in the frame.

Micah is the sweet school counselor whose quiet confidence hides a deeply filthy mouth.

Dean is the tattooed mechanic who takes “let me help you with that” to dangerously new levels.

She only meant to rent out the rooms.

She didn’t mean to get kissed in the kitchen, undressed in the laundry room, or wake up tangled between all three of them.

Now her heart’s at risk—and so is her self-control.

Because these men don’t just want to share her bed.

They want her to stay. To belong.

To be theirs.

Such a fast read but really lacked so much detail. I’m not sure a poly or why choose really works for a short novella like this because you miss so much detail and connection.

Very shallowly written, even for a novella

The basic premise of the story is decent. Woman inherits a house and falls for the 3 tenants that originally are strictly for financial survival.

I'm not impressed with Sally as an FMC. She commands new house rules without any real necessity and then tosses them aside without much thought. She lacks depth and I dislike some of her actions along the way.
We know very little about the guys and, with the exception of Micah, their reasons for moving in are suspicious at best. How are readers supposed to believe Jack and Dean are in urgent need of temporary housing but they can wait 2 weeks to move in?
The book is very short, but there is exceptionally little relationship building regardless of the lack of pages. We see a lot of random occurrences and irrelevant conversations but very little substance filled interactions between the characters.

Worse than the puddle deep characters is the messy writing. The author mixes up details, sometimes within a single sentence. The most annoying scene for me is Sally mixing pie crust dough and one of the guys walking in exclaiming how good it smells. Until it begins to cook, dough has little scent. Overall it made for a very boring, very unenjoyable short story.

MFMM (maybe others)
Why Choose
Land Lady
Roommates
Forced Proximity
Condom usage

So much time spent on just one pairing at first kind of made everything else seem like cheating afterwards. I love why choose but if not done correctly it can be uncomfortable. Though I think that was kind of the point in this book. Even though it worked out it still felt off to me. Book ended in a HFN.

I also don’t understand why the author tried to add in potential MM crossings in the last 5-8 mins of the book when none of that had been even remotely hinted at before then. It’s okay to have a strictly MFMM (etc) book and leave out that part. When you add it in as an after thought like this author tends to do it almost seems like it was thrown in disingenuously. I love a good MMMF (etc) book when done correctly but in more than a few books by this author it doesn’t seem right.

This was an enjoyable and quick read.

Sally decided to rent out her home and didn’t intend to fall for her tenants. Three men make Sally swoon: Jacks, a grumpy man who enjoys working with his hands; Micah, a sweet cinnamon roll with a dirty mouth; and Dean, a tattooed bad boy. These men are all vying for Sally’s attention.

I wish there was more depth to their characters. I would have loved to learn more about their lives and how they ended up in this situation.

Very cute read! 🥰🫶💞 Character connections were pretty surface-level as far as the building of connections, but it IS a fast paced novella. It's a good book for people who want to start reading romance or if you need a wholesome palate cleanser after more dark reads.

cozy crew

Sweet fast paced story about a woman coming to her grandmothers home after finding her long term boyfriend cheating. My only complaint is that most of the story was off page and that where the most interesting parts happened.

Light hearted, sweet and cozy read

This is an excellent palette cleanser read. A sweet, cozy feel about finding love in unexpected circumstances. Learning to communicate with one another and allow relationships to build organically over time.

Sally, Jake, Micah and Dean

Overall this book was cute & a quick read.

Came across as a more HFN instead of a HEA. I know spice is objective but I would rate .5
